My wife and I had dinner at Toscana last night and it was one of those meals you find yourself still thinking about the next day. We did the Dinner for Two experience, and from start to finish, it was flawless. It began with the bread service -- simple but absolutely delicious -- setting the tone for everything that followed. For starters, my wife had the grilled zucchini (wood oven charred with mint and pistachio -- incredible) and I had the octopus, which was perfectly prepared and beautifully plated. Then came the pasta course: she went with the cacio e pepe and I had the pomodoro, both spot on -- the kind of pasta that reminds you what the dish is supposed to taste like. Then the showstopper: the 48oz Steak Fiorentina for Two, wood-fired to perfection. Honestly one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. We had plenty of delicious leftovers to take home, which tells you just how generous the portions are. But the food is only part of the story. What an amazing gem this restaurant is...the decor is beautifully done, offering both a more formal dining experience and a great patio. The service is first rate, especially if you get Julie. They offer a strong pasta selection, and, also steaks and seafood. Ordering the bread course includes the homemade focaccia and ciabatta. They offer a large wine list and a full bar. Their pastas are made in house. Their first courses includes a wonderful seafood salad, house salad, grilled zucchini and others, which are included in their pasta course. This restaurant is a hidden gem that's worth finding. We found everything excellent and look forward to returning to try other entrees. read more

I gave this place a shot for Valentine's Day. I will say service was excellent but the food was just not worth it at all! My bf and I went to this Italian restaurant as they claim to be super authentic Italian food and after a couple of days of thinking.... this place was not worth the $200. We ordered the bolognese and brazino. With each entrees, you are allowed to get "something from the chef" column which we picked the burrata and the tuna arancini. The bolognese was the best thing there. Not too salty and the pasta noodles were cooked al dente. The branzino was good but not worth the money as it is a smaller filet of fish. The burrata was oily and the bread was tough and stale. We had asked for other slices of bread that was softer, and thankfully our waitress gave us new bread that was much suitable. The tuna arancini tasted low quality fish and the arancini was stale and tough. The food itself was average and did not taste like high quality for the price to be paid. The cocktails were decent. My first clue should've been a totally empty restaurant I think it was four people in the restaurant at 7 o'clock but I thought I'll give us a shot and I had the cioppino I couldn't believe when I got my bill it was $88 for cioppino which from what I can tell included mainly frozen calamari because I didn't eat any of it because it was terrible and then lots of scallops with no flavor and a very small piece of lobster which was nearly impossible to get out of the shell and I had one bite of lobster but I will have to say the sauce was quite amazing it was really a great cioppino sauce but that was the only thing good about the dish pretty sad. I had the octopus as my appetizer great price five dollars and I went there because there were a woodfired Grill and it was hardly grilled at all they just need to grill things more I don't know I feel sorry for them read more

Toscana Restaurant is the best new restaurant you've never heard of. Wood fired Italian with ridiculously high quality ingredients, intimate setting, beautiful mountain views, excellent service, and it's tucked away in an adorable little spot and not wedged between a gas station and a dumpster in some grimy strip mall. Our new favorite spot (where every entree entitles you to an amazing appetizer - like octopus or wood fired burrata - at no additional cost! And let me tell you these are seriously good appetizers.) The service and waiter were great! The food has much left to be desired. We had the halibut and risotto, chicken, and pasta. The pasta dishes were good, the halibut was so dry it was hard to eat. The chicken was drowning in liquid which got everywhere as we had to pull apart to eat it. The amount we paid for the fish was crazy for it to be so dry and tasteless. Even the soda was watered down. I had a burrata appetizer OMG and my husband and myself shared the halibut over risotto scrumptious and a black truffle homemade pasta outrageous. The bread they make in house amazing . It was my birthday and he made me a lemon ricotta blueberry cake which I keep dreaming about. Almost forgot delicious drinks and an excellent wine list which we loved. What a delightful, perfect meal! The setting is comfortable and not very noisy and the tables afford a nice intimate dining experience. The service was perfect: attentive, knowledgeable, friendly and not over- bearing. The recommended bread service is delicious and we brought some home for breakfast. The prices include two courses. The caponata bruschetta appetizer was outstanding and the house salad had a perfect mix of fresh greens and a light vinaigrette dressing. The homemade gnocchi was fabulous, tender, with a light sauce and the chicken was perfectly roasted, flavorful, and generous enough for leftovers. Got invited out by the owner to give this place a try. Absolute gem of a restaurant, can't beat the quality experience you get at an amazing price point. Started out with a round of apps known as "something from the chef". Entrées come with an appetizer on the chef, and the owner is a sommelier and knows the perfect accompaniment for your meal. Desserts are made in house which is always a plus and are absolutely to die for. The bill for two drinks, two entrees (with two apps), and a dessert came out to $63 pp before tip. Incredibly slow service. Sub par cocktails compared to surrounding bars in Scottsdale. Certain dishes stood out while things like the pomodoro lacked in flavor. Additionally, the support staff outside of the waiter were not a saving grace they were a bit rude and inattentive for most of the evening. WOW...What a GREAT experience we just had! We got a promotional gift certificate due to living in the neighborhood and were saving it for a special occasion. As my wife's birthday was yesterday we decided that this was the time to use it and we are SO GLAD we did! Everything from the ambiance to the food was on point. The bread service is anything but pedestrian and that tomato focaccia was so good! We loved the option to choose your first course with every entree, very nice touch :). The burrata, delicious! The Bolognese, so rich and decadent! The pesto pasta, amazing and bright! I could go on but you get the point... if you're thinking about coming here, do it! I have visited Toscana 3 times in the short time since its opening and each meal has been superb, in every way. Suffice to say, the attention to detail from the owner, chef and staff far exceeded my expectations. It's not that my expectations are low, I am a seasoned fine dining soul. From the warm greeting to the final goodbye and from the unexpected (and complimentary) first course selection to the spectacular entrees, Toscana delivers in every way. Osso Buco, Branzino, the epic Porterhouse for 2 and a dozen+ additional choices have pleased everyone at our table. Service is professional, attentive and completely comfortable as are the surroundings. All very well done. This new restaurant, in its unusual industrial park location, is a true dining gem. I'd like to keep this place to myself, but the owner and staff deserve recognition, so I'm one of many expressing praise for this fantastic place. The restaurant was very comfortable the menu was very good ..at least our order but pricey.. our server was over the top attentive and I felt that my guests and I were eating on a conveyor belt being hurried along in 1 hour 15 minutes we have spent a lot of money to eat and run we weren't planning on overstaying our welcome but fellt rushed We talked with a manager the following day and he didn't seem to be too interested I hope your visit is better read more

Loved it! There were 7 of us and we all loved our meals! We had the florentine steak, rigatoni bolognese, branzino (my pick and it was delicious! ) pasta pomodoro and lamb chops. Great find in North Scottsdale. We were lucky to find this place during bike week. Amazing Osso buco and Octopus. The best I have had in the entire state of AZ and outside of Italy. Service was top notch. A great waitstaff that took care of us and made excellent recommendations. I will be purchasing a case of the wine that was recommended. We dined at Toscana this evening for Valentines day. The tuna arancini was amazing! It wasn't made as rice balls but the tuna carpaccio was on a crunchy arancini bed. The homemade focaccia and ciabatta were great. The homemade gnocchi was the best I've had. It was the perfect chewy texture, especially with burrata and breadcrumbs. My husband loved the porchetta - said it had so many flavors. And we enjoyed our dessert as well. Really first class meal and the service was excellent. read more

The food has never disappointed, the wine list has some very reasonable and excellent choices and the service has always been top notch.
