Smash burger - 2 butter-griddled burgers, onion, romaine, American cheese, pickles, secret sauce + frites
    John R.

Beautiful inside and outside spaces. Roomy seating. Service was mixed. Great one night, not so attentive on another night. The Paella - saffron rice, Spanish chorizo, market seafood + light tomato broth was good, not great. The dish itself needs bread to make it better. They will bring it out of you ask for it. The Smash Burger - 2 butter-griddled burgers, onion, romaine, American cheese, pickles, secret sauce + frites was a much better choice. Overall, a slightly better-than-average experience. With a little more polish, they could go from good to great.

I got here early to grab a drink at the bar. Tyler the bartender was a sweetheart. The grapefruit juice is fabulous and fresh. I moved to a table when our group arrived and Georgia our server was equally wonderful! Brunch menu on Sundays till 3, dinner after 4. Lots of unique options to choose from. I might suggest adding a few lower priced options to munch on for snacks as some of the bites seem expensive, eg $17 guac, $16+ salads but I will say everything was tasty. I would have loved more chunks to the guacamole. It was a bit liquidy. I was told the shrimp and lobster ratatouille was also a bit bland and watery, but otherwise everyone else seem to enjoy what they had. I included photos with my review. So overall, I would say four star for food but service was definitely five star.

Everything about our meal was excellent. The host went out of their way to make sure we had a table to accommodate our requests, the ambiance was great, and the food was excellent. I had the tagliatelle bolognese and it was perfect. Excellent flavor and the pasta was cooked just right.

We love coming to Local Bistro! We grabbed a couple seats at the bar to watch football and had such a great time. The service was fantastic; friendly, quick, and really attentive. We split the chopped salad and the sautéed chicken & artichokes, and both were absolutely delicious. The salad was super fresh and flavorful, and the chicken was perfectly cooked with the right balance of creamy and tangy. Great food, great service, and an awesome atmosphere every time!

Stopped in to check this place out and ended up staying for dinner. The menu is amazing and hard to resist! We got great service in the bar...the wine list is quite large. The menu has something for everyone! We sampled the Italian Guacamole which is different with the basil and sun dried tomatoes, but very tasty and enough for 4 people for sure. If anything I think they could use to dice the tomatoes to make it easier to eat. The gazpacho with nectarines was an absolutely hit! To finish we had the arugula salad with salmon. Which was perfectly prepared. It's atop of a generous portion of whipped goat cheese with honey. Compliments to the chef and staff. Everything was well done! Another suggestion, display this amazing menu outside. It will definitely draw them in.

Local Bistro is an upscale Italian-American bistro specializing in custom drinks and pricey entrees, with an airy and upscale dining room. LB does not fail in the food department. We have never had a bad meal in the 5-10 times we've been here. The Arugula Salad is delicious, skirt steak is great, haricot verts (green beans) are cooked to perfection. The gelato is a great way the end a meal. Everything we've tried on the menu is expensive but seasoned and cooked properly. The service is such a mixed bag. We've had service ranging from really nice servers to really mean and petty ones. It definitely throws us off and makes us not come back for a while after we have a bad server. If the service was more consistent, Local Bistro would earn my 5th star. Also, FYI, the owner is charging a service tax. If you don't like paying those, don't come here.

Found this place by accident sure glad I did the food was pretty good the ceaser salad was one of the best I've had mines the egg the dressing was nice and creamy and had the perfect bit to it the pizza was grate loved the mix of fontana and gruyere vert different dough had a little sour flavor to it all round very delicious will go back for that for sure the salmon was good it was dry from being over cooked but pommes puree and pesto saved it the server was ok the only reason for notb5 star was the service charge they say it's so they don't have to raise the menu prices but you are I can't see but till time to pay

For apps we got the lamb fondue which was super tender and unique. Dipping meet in cheese? Literally nothing better. Then we also got the green chili pork stew which is a MUST try! Not too spicy and full of flavor. Also, great for sharing as you fill it in the buttery tortillas. The filet was seriously one of the best I've ever had in Arizona. It has a nice shallot butter crust and it was cooked PERFECTLY medium rare. This was a highlight. The pork chop is huge and has a nice sweetness to it. The meat wasn't dry either...it pretty much tasted like the best bacon I've ever had LOL Everyone must get the green chili Mac n cheese. Not spicy at all just Smokey and tangy and full of cheese but shockingly not that heavy. The pecan pie was unreal. Gooey and sweet but the crust was still super flakey. The brownie skillet was soft in the middle which is how it always should be. Their known for their frozen huckleberry margarita which is a treat in its own but it's not too icey they definitely don't skip out on the tequila. Rachel was our server. She's been there for awhile so you know that they treat their staff well. She was super knowledgeable and honest about certain menu items. I also spoke with the manager, Matt, who was very welcoming and seemed very proud of his restaurant (as he should be). Overall highly reccomend it here. Everything exceeded my expectations. I will absolutely be returning!

The host told us that there was open seating along the wall or under cover outside. Since the wall was full, we ventured outside near the cooler. We were given water right away but didn't even see a server, Jessica, for 12 mins. We even had to ask her for menus. It was a very awkward start. My wife ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon and a Caesar salad, plus wine while I got the 22 ounce Ribeye and a side of Poblano and PepperJack Grits, plus an iced tea. It all came to $137.11 plus tip. Our salad arrived in 8 minutes and our dinner 10 mins later. The salad was outstanding. Plenty of romaine, dressed with the right amount of dressing, 3-4 croutons and a mound of shaved Parmesan cheese. The salmon was really good, served with sautéed green beans and soy butter. My steak was cooked perfectly. It was seasoned well and the grits were incredible. They were creamy, with pronounced poblano and Jack cheese. It was the perfect accompaniment. Jessica did a great job checking in on us during our meal but, again, it was awkward waiting 15 mins for her to offer dessert and check. We will return but perhaps not during happy hour, when it's very busy but the evening staff hasn't arrived yet.

I checked us in for our reservation and the hostess welcomed us in, then promptly took us to the table that had been beautifully prepared for our dining experience. She asked if the lighting was too dim, but it was perfect. Every staff member was dressed neatly and welcomed us as we walked by. No staff members were running around frantically, and I could tell they are staffed amazingly well. So organized and kind, genuinely smiling at us. I could tell that anyone would be willing to help us, if we needed them! Our waiter, Daniel, came over and again, welcomed us. He let us know the specials of the night and how dinner will be served. Let us know not to touch the 500 degree plates when they arrived. He took out drink orders and answered any question we had. He promptly came back with drinks and fresh, hot rolls!! Daniel took our dinner orders. We all sat and visited while waiting, enjoying our drinks and the hot rolls. Dinner was served on, as promised, hot plates!! Then, they served each of us the crème brûlée corn. All of us that ordered meat, asked for medium rare and we were not disappointed!! Our meats were spot on!!! Perfection!!! The petite filet mignon were very juicy and delicious, as was the New York strip. The Crispy Hasselback Potatoes were so good, especially with the topping. The Crispy Shrimp Deviled Eggs were so good!!! I feel like our meals were simple yet divine!! After we enjoyed dinner, we were served the Ultimate Warm Vanilla Caramel Cake, on the house!! What a nice touch!! So yummy and it felt guilty eating such a fabulous dessert!! We all shared it! All in all, I wish I could give 10/10 stars!! Such a wonderful dinner experience!! I loved the classic but modern feel of the whole restaurant. Our server has medium length hair and there's an open flame live lit candle and every time she bent over to clean the table or put food down, I was extremely worried her hair was about to catch on fire, she did not tuck her hair or anything just free will letting it dangle hoping it wouldn't catch on fire. Very concerning. We've been here a handful of times before for special occasions and it's been fantastic. However I don't know why the flavors this time just were not it. Everything, I mean everything, was so extremely salty. Not just the seafood tower we got and the lemon pasta but the steak, the sides, everything was so so so salty. I finished 5 glasses of water that night. We also specifically requested to save the bone from the tomahawk because we like to make stew from it. Sure that's not very fine dining of us but I also don't think that's for other people to judge. But the servers didn't pack the bone like we requested. The sides were very delicious though! Slightly salty like I said but the flavor itself was fantastic!! Plenty of free parking at the nearby parking garages at the mall, just a 5min walk is all

The Papas Verde had an addicting tang from the tomatillo salsa but were brilliantly balanced out by the chorizo and asadero cheese. The shaved brussel salad could have used a little more date and chile to balance out the vinegar but I was pleased either way. The elote was probably the only thing that fell short execution-wise as I didn't get much of the chorizo flavor, but the cook on the corn itself was perfect. The Gambas al Ajillo are absolutely a must-get. Juicy, sweet shrimp with an unexpected kick from the butter sauce and unsurprisingly great bread from Noble. The Tlayuda was a little heavy on the lettuce, but the smoked pork and bean puree combo were so flavorful that it helped balance out the richness with texture and freshness. I also loved the crispy contrast from the fried tortilla. We ended with the Concha and Mango Sticky Rice ice cream which sounded pretty simple but was quite impressive in its own right. The ice cream was a touch too frozen, but it ended up working out well with the crunchy cornflake coating and lightly warmed, pillowy concha to make a really satisfying ending to our meal. Service was excellent and the patio was well-lit and had heaters ready for colder weather. Vecina is on the pricier side for sure, but you will not be disappointed.

Instead, we were publicly embarrassed and treated like criminals for absolutely no reason. After we were seated, I closed the curtain because the table next to us was loud and obnoxious. Minutes later, the manager, Hannah, walked over and decided our entire group was "too intoxicated" to be served. Not a single person in our group was causing a scene, being disrespectful, or acting out of control. We were sitting at our table, ordering dinner. What makes this even more ridiculous is that after taking our drink order, Hannah personally brought out three green tea drinks in champagne glasses. Then, almost immediately afterward, she decided we were somehow too intoxicated to stay. Which is it? If we were supposedly too drunk to be there, why were drinks being served in the first place? We had already ordered what would have been around a $700 meal, and instead of being treated with basic respect, we were stereotyped because we were a bachelorette party. It felt like Hannah had already made up her mind before giving us any chance to prove otherwise. Restaurants absolutely have the right to refuse service to genuinely intoxicated guests. What they should not do is make assumptions based on the type of celebration or the size of a group. This wasn't responsible service--it was poor judgment, inconsistent management, and an incredibly embarrassing way to treat paying customers. We'll happily spend our money somewhere that values its guests instead of profiling them. !!! DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS!!! We ended up at ZUZUs, they treated us with respect and dignity.
