After a long week, it was nice to unwind & sit outside at this beautiful restaurant. Visiting family in Scottsdale, our hotel suggested this restaurant for a nice Sunday dinner. We were sat immediately, and the restaurant was absolutely lovely. You could sit inside, outside or at the bar. We sat outside as it was a warm spring evening & we wanted to take advantage of the charming ambiance outside. Our server was very kind & patient, answering our many questions about the menu. We finally decided on the following: HOUSE MADE FOCCACIA BREAD - $5 Oddly, probably the best part of the meal. Soft, fluffy, delightfully flavorful! CLASSICO BEEF CARPACCIO - $24 This was okay. We prefer our beef slices a little thinner. It was a little on the extra-salty-side. We realize that capers do make things very salty, but for whatever reason, it was a wee bit too salty for our personal taste. (We also opted to have the mayonnaise based sauce that is usually drizzled on the bed of greens on the side, as neither my husband or I care for mayonnaise.) CHICKEN PARMESEAN - $29 Well tenderized breaded chicken, deep fried & drenched in a Swiss fondue & shaved grana padano, then topped with citrus-arugula, this dish was really yummy. I personally didn't care for the combination of the chicken parm with citrusy greens on top, so I just moved them to a side plate. Once removed, the dish improved in my opinion. SIDE OF TAGLIATELLE PASTA with MARINARA SAUCE - $10 We were told this pasta was made in house (upon asking). Apparently the penne & angel hair pasta are not made fresh in house. (Sides of these pastas are only $6.) So, wanting to try the restaurants fine offerings, we opted for this. The pasta was light & nice. You can choose the sauce of your choice. TAGLIATELLE ALLA BOLOGNESE - $28 A 24-hr braised combination of beef, pork & veal tossed in a San Marzano tomato Ragu. Portion was good & my husband said the dish was fine. They had an extensive wine list & plenty of beers to choose from as well. We had a few beers. No complaints there. All in all, I'd say the restaurant itself was beautiful & the ambiance was fantastic. The food was good, but not 100% how we like things, but I can't really fault the restaurant for that. Perhaps the chefs are mimicking Italian food from a region we are not familiar with. Therefore, 4 stars from us. read more

I had dinner here with a friend today. This is a well designed contemporary restaurant. I was excited for dinner. Also the bar is a very large U shape...and perfect for drinks AND dining. So we decided to eat at the bar. We started with the crispy calamari (1/5). The kitchen fried the calamari way too long. Consequently it was super chewy and inedible. The bartender/server removed the calamari from our bill. I question the QC in the kitchen at the pass. I could tell visually that it was forgotten in the fryer. So 2 people in the kitchen are at fault, the fry cook and the chef at the pass who allowed it to go out of the kitchen inedible. Not a good start. My entree was the rigatoni alla vodka (5/5). This dish was super tasty. The pasta was al dente, the bowl was packed with sausage, and the creamy tomato sauce was super flavorful. My friend had the Berkshire pork chop (3/5). He ordered it medium, but it was served well done. He liked the flavor, but once again, the pork chop was hammered by the chef and no QC at the pass. The well done chop was hard to cut and even chewier to eat. Really too bad...it was a nice thick Berkshire pork chop. Hopefully this restaurant will fix their kitchen problems. Until then, there are other dining choices in this area of Scottsdale to have a well prepared dinner. I would drive past Local Bistro. read more

The Paella - saffron rice, Spanish chorizo, market seafood + light tomato broth was good, not great. The dish itself needs bread to make it better. They will bring it out of you ask for it. The Smash Burger - 2 butter-griddled burgers, onion, romaine, American cheese, pickles, secret sauce + frites was a much better choice. Overall, a slightly better-than-average experience. Tonight we celebrated my husband's birthday at Local Bistro. This has been a go to place for years. He ordered the paella and the mussels had sand in them. They were gritty and gross. The clams were not opened. He sent it back. They recommended the salmon and it was good, but it's not what he wanted. The server said she would try to reduce the bill. There was no reduction in the bill. They should have taken more care to make it right. Disappointing! read more

I got here early to grab a drink at the bar. Tyler the bartender was a sweetheart. The grapefruit juice is fabulous and fresh. I moved to a table when our group arrived and Georgia our server was equally wonderful! Brunch menu on Sundays till 3, dinner after 4. Lots of unique options to choose from. I might suggest adding a few lower priced options to munch on for snacks as some of the bites seem expensive, eg $17 guac, $16+ salads but I will say everything was tasty. I would have loved more chunks to the guacamole. It was a bit liquidy. I was told the shrimp and lobster ratatouille was also a bit bland and watery, but otherwise everyone else seem to enjoy what they had. I included photos with my review. So overall, I would say four star for food but service was definitely five star. read more

I had dinner with a friend prior to a show 2/16/26, we have both eaten here before. The food was amazing, the salmon was delicious and my friends chicken also. Our waiter was perfect, I wish I could remember his name- he was efficient without being annoying, he knew the menu and answered all our questions. We love coming to Local Bistro! We grabbed a couple seats at the bar to watch football and had such a great time. The service was fantastic; friendly, quick, and really attentive. We split the chopped salad and the sautéed chicken & artichokes, and both were absolutely delicious. Stopped in to check this place out and ended up staying for dinner. The menu is amazing and hard to resist! We got great service in the bar...the wine list is quite large. The menu has something for everyone! We sampled the Italian Guacamole which is different with the basil and sun dried tomatoes, but very tasty and enough for 4 people for sure. If anything I think they could use to dice the tomatoes to make it easier to eat. The gazpacho with nectarines was an absolutely hit! To finish we had the arugula salad with salmon. Local Bistro is an upscale Italian-American bistro specializing in custom drinks and pricey entrees, with an airy and upscale dining room. LB does not fail in the food department. We have never had a bad meal in the 5-10 times we've been here. The Arugula Salad is delicious, skirt steak is great, haricot verts (green beans) are cooked to perfection. The gelato is a great way the end a meal. Everything we've tried on the menu is expensive but seasoned and cooked properly. The service is such a mixed bag. We've had service ranging from really nice servers to really mean and petty ones. It definitely throws us off and makes us not come back for a while after we have a bad server. If the service was more consistent, Local Bistro would earn my 5th star. Also, FYI, the owner is charging a service tax. If you don't like paying those, don't come here. read more

Found this place by accident sure glad I did the food was pretty good the ceaser salad was one of the best I've had mines the egg the dressing was nice and creamy and had the perfect bit to it the pizza was grate loved the mix of fontana and gruyere vert different dough had a little sour flavor to it all round very delicious will go back for that for sure the salmon was good it was dry from being over cooked but pommes puree and pesto saved it the server was ok the only reason for notb5 star was the service charge they say it's so they don't have to raise the menu prices but you are I can't see but till time to pay read more

My wife and I joined some friends for dinner last week at Local Bistro. This restaurant has been one of our go-to places for years. Following her meal of Wild Mushroom Tagliatelle, my wife suffered a bout of very acute food poisoning. I've communicated this episode to Local Bistro through two different channels provided on their website. It's now been a week since my first message. I've heard nothing in reply. The food problem is an issue and concern for us for sure. The lack of response from the restaurant is even more disappointing. They apparently don't care. We won't be back to Local Bistro, and we'll no longer recommend the restaurant. read more

Very fancy upscale place. Ambience is quiet and romantic. Staff was very friendly and inviting. I feel the menu was very limited and not a lot of options. Service was not great. I had to ask for refills of water, had to flag down someone else for assistance. For the prices they charge and passing as an upscale high end local bistro, service was not at par. The food was very disappointing. I ordered the Brussel sprouts. They we're too sweet and not crispy enough. I ordered the focaccia bread and it was way too salty and did not have any crunch as it should. I ordered the corn and it was drowned in sauce. I ordered the chicken primavera and the chicken was super dry. The $20 burger (two thin patties), this burger was all bread..not worth it! I definitely will not be coming back or bringing my guests here. I have been wanting to try this place for a while, and I was so disappointed. read more

They offer many dishes that you don't find at other Italian restaurants like tuna tartare, French Onion soup, and Chilean sea bass with Spanish chorizo in lobster broth. They offer dinner and Sunday brunch. I've been here for dinner and I also recently tried the bottomless Sunday Brunch. I must say that this is more of a dinner restaurant than a brunch restaurant for me. They do offer some amazing delicious dishes on the brunch menu but the entrees that we tried for brunch seemed like premade for the brunch. A very impressive and delicious dinner. Visiting my family in Scottsdale for the holiday season so as usual, we went out to dinner almost every single night and this was one of our best dinners that we had during my 10 day visit. They have great options on the menu in terms of food and drink. Our server was also very polite and I like how open and modern the design of the restaurant is. They have a full bar area as well. It was pretty popular and lively tonight due to college football. My favorite part of the dinner was the taste of each of the food items we ordered. I started off with a childhood favorite appetizer: the Beef Carpaccio. I get it all the time back home in Los Angeles, and have had it many times on this trip, and this was by far my favorite I had while in town. It was thin and smooth, and the sauce on top really made the dish. For my entrée I chose the Chilean Seabass and was really impressed with the sauce and chorizo mixed in. It was a good sized portion and I ate every bit of it. Overall a really nice dinner. As soon as the meal was over, I already knew I would be coming back next time I am in town. I feel it would be good for almost any occasion and I certainly have it already on my repeat list. I would recommend it to anyone. read more

Lovely dining experience. Their French onion soup is filled with onion favors and delicious thick cheese. It's a must try. The arugula salad with strawberries sitting on a bed of goat cheese with honey and a lemon vinaigrette was yummy. Cripes it was good. Their strip steak was cooked medium raw and well seasoned, though I didn't taste it. I had the mushroom ravioli in a mushroom cream sauce which was "lick the plate clean" good. Tried out local bistro while visiting from Austin. I grew up here and get stuck going to the old favorites but so glad we branched out. We had Mark as our server- he was amazing. Personable, attentive and just overall great. This review is for brunch only. At brunch, you can pick several plate (2) at a time before you get your main entree. We tried a ton of them. I'd stay overall we liked almost all that we tried- off the top of my head: mini drunken bread, avocado toast (this one was just ok) , bacon, gazpacho, spinach dip, a grape thing on top of mini pancakes, and little donuts (warm and delicious!). After that they serve you your main entree - I opted for the bolognese- it was amazing!!!! The only thing that was a complete bummer is that they will not let you take home the entree because the plates prior are considered all you can eat. I wish I would've known that - we wouldn't have tried so much prior to our entrees. My girlfriend and I had the steak salad that was so yummy, but we couldn't finish it because the portion was so generous. My BF got the paella that was just okay. My other friend got the scallops and he said they were delicious. Now dessert. Four spoons please... we all shared the meringue with berries that was refreshing and hit the spot. I went into try a few of the newer items it's safe to say that the food is out of this world each creation is specifically detailed and delicious my personal favorite is the lumberjack, the short rib it is juicy that pairs well with the Parmesan Grit cake. The food was fresh and hot. Service was amazing. My server Georgia was phenomenal. She was well trained with the menu. Stuart the manager was helpful and happy. We love local Bistro. The food and wine/aperitif selection is great! The service is always friendly, and accommodating. Parking is simple, but, it can get full fast - so be prepared to walk a smidge. The outdoor patio is absolutely lovely! Personally, I am not a big fan of the inside seating - the music always seems so loud plus all the loud talking - it's hard to carry a conversation. The most important part...the food. Everything on this menu is DELICIOUS - the mushroom pizza is a fav. But, really you cannot go wrong with a single item on the menu. Came here recently on my day off. I had Mark. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. I ordered the pomodoro pasta which was dry and tasted like it had been microwaved. It was basic and easily simmering I could've made at home. My friend ordered the ravioli. The portion size was super small and she's not a big eater. I honestly don't think it would be with coming back. The only reason I would would be because of how great mark was On and then there was the service charge. It'd be nice if they could state this on the menu. Just another money hungry owner I guess read more
