G12. Eggplants with Hot Garlic Sauce

I really liked the eggplant w garlic hot sauce at lvl 4 spiciness! Totally recommend there's so much flavor. I feel like a ton of ppl don't like eggplant which is fair but when its cooked really well imo it just melts and is the perfect vehicle for sauce! I always struggle when I try cooking eggplant at home ripperoni. Anyway I stopped by for takeout when I was in the area and the food came out really quick like ten minutes? and the portions were huge too. The restaurant ambiance was nice. Ig I also noticed they have Szechuan items on the menu so ill def check them out later

Good and quick service. Pretty decent Thai Tea. Food was hot and fresh and their was no wait. I will say I saw they had a family meal that feeds 3-4 for like $60! What a steal. Definitely coming back here with a group for a cheap night out with friends.

Ordered again but this time was just ok. Must have a different chef on Sunday. Broccoli beef was salty. Kung Pao (must be out of veggies or something) was not like the last time I ordered and crispy noodles became soggy asf! So I was a little disappointed. Sigh.

$10 chicken and string bean lunch special togo with green milk tea.

Great Chinese food, great prices, lovely staff! I got the lunch special which was only $10. Chicken and green bean stir fry was delicious. I also ordered the green milk tea, and I felt like the tea quality was pretty decent with very chewy boba. The staff also runs the highly rated Hitea cafe down the street. And I thought this restaurant is kind of like a more low-key Hi-tea cafe where you can actually get very solid sit down Chinese food. I'd recommend folks try this place out. I'll definitely be back to try other dishes.

Broadway Wok took over from Wedgewood Vegetarian Thai, which was one of my favorites in the area. Luckily, Broadway Wok got the memo and is also delicious! They redecorated the restaurant, it feels much more comfortable and modern now, and they have plenty of meatless options. The boba is also really good (which is no surprise since this place is owned by the same people as Hi-Tea if I'm not mistaken - best boba shop on Broadway!). Prices seem to be cheaper in person than online, so I would recommend eating in. I've tried the tofu pad thai as well as the mushroom chow mein and both were flavorful and fresh.

Best deal on Broadway! They have rotating (usually weekly) lunch specials for only $9.99! If you want something quick and cheap stop by and check out their specials.

Great hot and sour soup! The food is good and classically Chinese American. Lots of vegetables in the entrees and large servings.

Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #118…read more Located across from Westlake Center, this is a full fledged Xing Fu Tang, complete with a bubbling black sugar boba wok and their signature fortune sticks. I especially love the menu towards the rear of the store that depicts all the drinks and whether they contain dairy or tea. Walking in on a Thursday evening right before dinner, it was surprisingly crowded inside. All the seats were taken and there was a small line waiting to order at the kiosk. Luckily the staff is efficient, and I had my drink within a couple of minutes. Taiwan Boba Milk Tea, Large, 25% Sweet, Less Ice ($8.29) - Xing Fu Tang really focuses on two things: black sugar and milk. That focus is evident in this drink, where there's a strong mineral essence from the sugar, and somehow a really strong milkiness (despite being dairy free). The tea? It's an afterthought, with only some flat malty notes to complement the rich and sugary drink. With that being said, the drink is flavorful enough that I don't mind the lack of tea quality at all. Now the sweetness level could use some adjustment - the milk tea by itself is probably good at 25% but with so much of the boba marinade added, it goes up quickly. I might even order 0% next time. In terms of ice, they have less ice as default which I would consider similar to full ice at other boba shops. At least it seems that way since they used large cubed ice in their drinks rather than more typical chipped ice. This drink comes with boba. The boba is clearly homemade, being almost the same texture throughout, and is somewhat lumpy and cuboid in shape rather than perfect spheres. It marinates in the black sugar for a long time, rendering them superbly sweet and sticky. Unfortunately they are there for perhaps too long - at least when I visited, they were near the bottom of the wok. This means the boba is entirely too soft, with a single bite slicing through the sides of the pearl without too much resistance. They also tend to clump up, forming larger conglomerates that get stuck in the boba straw. While there's still somewhat of a bounce, it's noticeably less than perfection. Milk Tea Rating: 4/5 Boba Rating: 3/5 I visited again a couple of weeks later for the Oolong Milk Tea, to see if they could eek a little more tea flavor out of another kind of leaf: Heaven Roast Oolong Boba Milk Tea, Large, 50% Sweet, Less Ice ($8.29) - This tea is a bit more flavorful than the regular milk tea, with a somewhat vegetal and earthy essence that kind of reminds me of Tieguanyin. There's even a slight drying astringency. I forgot to review my notes and ordered this at 50% sweet, which is way, way too sweet for my tastes. I'm definitely going to go with 0% if I visit again. The boba is the same slightly mushy texture as the last visit. At least they are consistent between visits? Milk Tea Rating: 3/5 Boba Rating: 3/5 So overall: the tea that Xing Fu Tang serves is alright, muddled but better quality than a lot of other boba shops. The boba unfortunately is mushy, which I honestly can't say I've seen all that often. I do have to give them props for making their boba in house given how rare it is. Bathrooms - Single unisex room

Because it was hot and sweaty, a big sea of people were waiting both outside and inside this place, and I saw only about 5 or so staff members making all the drinks. There's only two tables and two benches to sit at on the right-hand side of the place; otherwise, the rest of the space is behind the counter where all the drinks are made and the strong aromatic aroma of tea fills the interior. From my visit here, I think you can only place orders either through their lone kiosk to the left-hand side of the entrance near a corner, or by scanning the QR code at the front of the entrance and following prompts on your phone. Staff was too busy making drinks to take orders at the front counter when I was inside. Either way, you have to use the HeyTea app to scan a QR code (on the receipt you get after placing your order) if you want to see an estimate on when your drink(s) will be ready. By the time I signed up for an account and downloaded the app using the slow 5G, my estimated time was 25 minutes; however, the wait for my triple supreme matcha latte (with extra matcha, less sugar and all other things in their recommended settings) ended up being more than 45 minutes as I walked around the perimeter and waited inside and outside this location as well. It was really chaotic trying to get my drink once it was ready; people were cutting in front of me and others to show staff their receipt and pick up their orders even though I was in front of the line. Taste wise though, the matcha is a strong ceremonial blend with grassy tones that actually caught me by surprise. That's because they have a matcha cheese cloud which I thought would have dulled the matcha taste but it didn't! There's also matcha mochi and what tasted like matcha jelly on the bottom which further strengthened the earthy tones. Probably because it was really hot as of this writing, the ice melted much fasted than usual so that's out of this place's control and therefor doesn't detract from my experience itself. Wait here was really long for just one drink but I'm thankful there's something you can use to see when your drinks are ready - in this case, their HeyTea app. I would probably only come back if I was around the area, though wait times for drinks might deter me from doing so altogether.
