This was a total no-go for me in terms of food quality. The service was very nice and helpful and the prices were good for their specials(which is why my friends at the time took me here) but the only bit of my meal that I couid actually enjoy as it was cooked well and good quality. However I would hope that when you order cod in Seattle that it be well sourced considering our fish selection being pretty top tier. The problem for me was that the sauce was bland and it must have just been dumped in MSG to add *flavor* and I have nothing against the use or addition of MSG, but it won't enhance a flavorless sauce. The rangoons were subpar as well. The ambiance was alright-cute-small, but the lights at each table I can remember them being quite bright and distracting. If you're low on cash and just need to eat, go for it, but as someone who's a bit more picky I'd say skip Broadway Wok read more

I really liked the eggplant w garlic hot sauce at lvl 4 spiciness! Totally recommend there's so much flavor. I feel like a ton of ppl don't like eggplant which is fair but when its cooked really well imo it just melts and is the perfect vehicle for sauce! I always struggle when I try cooking eggplant at home ripperoni. Ok place ... typical - not stand out - place. Ordered take-out from DoorDash (4 min away). They do alright with their chicken w/ mixed vegetables. The mushroom fried rice was a bit greasy. I laid it out on paper towels with a quick warm up in micro to take out the grease. The mushroom egg drop soup however was EXCELLENT! It actually met traditional homemade style I used to get at a friend's place. Also , nice to have CRISPY vegetable egg rolls. You also take a "take out " risk ordering those and very satisfied. Great Chinese food, great prices, lovely staff! I got the lunch special which was only $10. Chicken and green bean stir fry was delicious. I also ordered the green milk tea, and I felt like the tea quality was pretty decent with very chewy boba. The staff also runs the highly rated Hitea cafe down the street. And I thought this restaurant is kind of like a more low-key Hi-tea cafe where you can actually get very solid sit down Chinese food. I'd recommend folks try this place out. Broadway Wok took over from Wedgewood Vegetarian Thai, which was one of my favorites in the area. Luckily, Broadway Wok got the memo and is also delicious! They redecorated the restaurant, it feels much more comfortable and modern now, and they have plenty of meatless options. The boba is also really good (which is no surprise since this place is owned by the same people as Hi-Tea if I'm not mistaken - best boba shop on Broadway!). Prices seem to be cheaper in person than online, so I would recommend eating in. I've tried the tofu pad thai as well as the mushroom chow mein and both were flavorful and fresh. read more

Good classic American-style Chinese fare. Hot, fast and scratches that itch when you crave some Chinese takeout. The grilled potstickers are a standout, it's nice to see veggie eggrolls as the standard option even though we're not vegetarians. Whether you're dining in or picking-up/waiting for an order, they give great service. The interior has good spots with soft lighting, and the place isn't too bright. The chow mein and fried rice are consistently good sides. Beef and broccoli was hearty and cooked just right. Delivery order. I was excited to try this place since I noticed a number of items on the menu used the same language as British takeaways, but my excitement would soon turn to disappointment. I ordered sweet and sour chicken balls, curried chicken, and grilled dumplings. While the chicken balls could have held potential and kept me happy, they were delivered without any sweet and sour sauce--huge fail. As for the curried chicken, the sauce was watery and bitter tasting and the vegetables were mushy--totally inedible. The grilled dumplings (potstickers) were like so many others around here: lacking in taste, texture, and filling. They were some of the worst I've had in Seattle, which is saying a lot. Even the steamed rice was rather wet. I don't understand all of the positive reviews as I wasn't able to find anything that was positive about my order. All I can say about this place is that it's really good, and is filling a sorely needed niche that is currently missing from the John st area of broadway. The food is great, cheap, huge menu, and the inside is pretty low key and chill if you happen to be dining in. I'm pretty surprised more people aren't going to this place, seemingly. Maybe people in the area don't need something that exists between the space, physically and figuratively, between Teriyaki Wok and Lionhead? I stopped in for some takeout and had high hopes. The restaurant was beautiful. The takeout, however, was a different story. I had fried rice, sweet and sour pork and chicken chow main. The fried rice was fine. The sweet and sour pork was all tough, gristle pieces. The chicken chow main was not edible. It both smelled and tasted off, like the oil had turned and the chicken smelled and tasted like it had gone bad. It had to go in the trash, and I feel ripped off.
