We came here on recommendation from our driver, Dave Cortes, and Brix did not disappoint! We had wonderful food, excellent wine and a perfect table for four next to the window. The decor is beautiful! We read an excellent Robb Report article as well for them that was recently published in January that discussed the Kelleher's family connection with Type 1 Diabetes which is near and dear to my family's heart as well and made it that much more special to get to enjoy their restaurant and wines. I`ve heard so much about this restaurant from other people that I expected more than what I experienced. My company and I had two glasses of white wine. Chenin and Sauvignon Blanc, and they were both delicious. The appetizer - Calamari was quite tasty but it could have been fried a little bit longer for me (it was pale). The main dishes - I order a sous vied fish, which did not have much flavor but was soft. The potatoes that came with that dish were utterly dry, the broccoli was ok. My husband ordered a pasta that was not bad but simply nothing extraordinary. The dessert, Pavlova, with fresh fruit and sorbet was good, just the meringue should have been softer (as it suppose to be crispy outside and soft inside) Our waiter was knowledgeable and made sure he didnt push us through the meal; however, I would suggest he may be more relaxed while dealing with guests. He behaved like he was afraid he would do something the management would not like.. Overall, a nice atmosphere, a knowledgeable but a bit stiff service, mediocre food. read more

Here is my problem with Brix. You can't count on them. They are inconsistent at best. Three chefs in a year should tell you something! How many next year? From salads to desserts & everything in between. I'm sorry too they used to have a talented young chef but alas he is no longer there. PERFECT VIEWS! We left from our winery tour early and decided to go an hour and a half early to our dinner reservation. They have happy hour from four to six, so we definitely snuck a few beers in since we were wine'd out. When we were ready to sit down, they let us pick inside or outside, because they weren't busy yet. We chose outside, even though it was a tiny bit chilly. They offered blankets and turned the heaters on without us even asking. I had the mushroom risotto, my boyfriend had the steak, my mom got the ahi tuna, and my dad got the burger. My risotto was bomb dot com. It wasn't a big portion, but filling. I also tried some of my mom's ahi tuna. It was super sesame oil tasting, but I LOVE sesame oil, so I was all about it. I definitely recommend dining here when you're in the area. I'm new to California, so the views took my breath away. Great service. Wonderful food. We'll be seeing them again soon! read more

We came to Brix for brunch on a sunday morning, we were excited to try all the delicioua things savory and sweet, I was.especially excited.for.oysters. The.oysters were.pretty large amd.could have been a better selection.but they were all you can eat. The shrimp was very fresh and also the salad selection.and cheese. The pancakes and bakery/sweet section was prwttt.good.but the waffle.machine was broken =( we kind of thought it would be a larger selection considering.the.price being about $48 + tax and also unlimited mimosas but they were $6 for one. We had a fabulous birthday-girls-night-dinner here! First, wonderful bartender and sommelier! He recommended a wonderful German Riesling we enjoyed with our entrees. Starters were all excellent - Oysters, Tempura Green Beans, Crab Fondue. I had the Shrimp Scampi - noodles were perfect, shrimp were medium sized and there were a ton in the dish. Sauce was perfect and light. For dessert we shared the Chocolate Pecan tart with salted caramel ice cream, absolutely divine. Service was great during our dinner, our waiter even made us cocktail sauce from scratch for our oysters. That was sweet of him. Brix is a yummy, beautiful, cozy restaurant. It's really hard to write a review seriously these days, but I will try so Yelp will not delete any more of my reviews (dicks!). I should stop using foul language, because it is very unbecoming of a lady like myself. And more importantly, Yelp does not take kindly to the liberal use of the C-word (which I totally just put in your head, so it's like I said it without saying it, high-five!). Oh, right, ok so Brix is awesome. They have the best brunch on Sunday, but it's $38 a person so you might want to put on one of your nicer eatin' dresses that will allow you to really get your money's worth. Something roomy. They have four different buffets, and normally I am not one for a buffet but I made an exception since this seemed like it catered to the type of people that didn't necessarily require the sneeze-guard glass to remind them not to slobber into the eggs or dig their germ-covered hooves into the muffins. One buffet had shrimp and clams (gross), another had muffins and bagels (I refer to carbs as my life partner, so I dug my hooves -- I mean, I took a sampling of the blueberry scones), there was a huge line of actually nutritious, healthy food which I ate first because I'm working on not dying at 40 (the quinoa salad thing was SO GOOD), and then there was the dessert buffet and if you're thinking "What kind of animal needs cake covered in pudding sprinkled with cookies at 10am?" the answer is me, I am that animal. They make these dime-sized oreo cake things that I aspirated at a rate of 10 at a time, and when my mom suggested I take it easy I immediately turned into Chris Farley in that LAY OFF ME I'M STARVING skit. Sub-par service for the kind of restaurant this. We had the thanksgiving dinner. The Turkey was very dry and we had to request for extra gravy since it was hard to eat. The waitress forgot some essentials, for example, it took a while to get sugar for the coffee, and then, it took a while to get stirring spoons. Also, every table has bread and butter on the table except ours. Overall, I'm disappointed mostly in the quality of the service, attention to detail and the food to some extent. read more

We went to Brix today for my birthday lunch. It is a beautiful venue and lovely ambiance BUT..... I left feeling very annoyed. They have a very poor kids menu, with two items with no nutritional value. Grilled cheese and fries or pasta with butter/tomato sauce. THAT IS IT! I asked if they would do a kiddie serving of the pasta with meatballs (which would at least have some protein, giving it SOME nutritional value). I asked if we could have it with no chilli as my daughter has stomach problems and can't anything even slightly spicy. The waiter said that would be fine but he would check with the chef. If there was a problem he would let us know. The food came (So we assumed all was in order as requested) and my daughter got her pasta with meatballs. IT WAS SPICY! She could not eat it. When the plates were cleared away I said to our waiter "I asked you if it was spicy and you said no! I explained my daughter has stomach issues and can't eat ANYTHING with spice. Because it was spicy she couldn't eat her meal" . The waiter said "Oh sorry" and cleared the plates away. (Um ok?). THEN the bill came and I was charged for a full adults pasta and meatball meal. I said to the waiter "I asked for a kiddies portion (kids plain pasta was $9 so I was expecting to pay around $16 for kids pasta with meatballs, NOT $25). The waiter then says...WAIT FOR IT... "Oh the chef said he couldn't do a kiddie portion we would have to pay for an adults meal". This information was never relayed to us.If we had been told this we could have made an informed decision. I would NEVER has ordered a full adults meal for a kid AND WHAT'S MORE she could not eat it because (we were told after the fact) the chef could not adjust the chili in the dish! I said to the waiter "You never told us this. You said you would let us know if the chef could not accommodate our request." The waiter offered no apology for the "miscommunication" (NO COMMUNICATION). As for the other food - We had the Lemongrass coconut soup which was to die for, and the crab cake sandwich, which we thoroughly enjoyed and recommend. We also had the Beef Cappuccio. It was beautifully presented but lacked flavor - like olive oil and some sort of balsamic glaze or lemon juice. Even at room temperature rather than ice cold it may have been a bit tastier. The 'Garlic ice-cream" was flavorless and tasted like plain butter.We added a little salt and pepper and it lifted the dish a little but it was a very pretty but an ordinary dish. We have been looking so forward to a meal at Brix but I am not sure I would rush back after today's experience. read more

we originally had a reservation at mustards but they were closed (they say for a week) due to a grease fire they had yesterday (2/20). (poor thing, i hope they get back on their feet soon!) luckily, we sped down to brix and they had a table available for us (party of two). hooray! the food was great. we started with the fried green beans with hot mustard sauce, then i had the duck for my main course. both were great--especially the duck, which may just have been some of the best duck i've ever had. for dessert, i had the rocky road ice cream sandwich, which came with some peanut brittle and a chocolate something-or-other type of candy. the bf had a steak (which had to be sent back because it wasn't cooked well enough; the waiter said the chef often undercooked well-done requests) with brussels sprouts and polenta on the side. he said all were great. (i don't like polenta and i was all sprouted out after our lunch today at ubuntu.) i would have given brix a 4.5 rounded up to a 5 but i'm docking half a point due to lacking service. individually, the staff was great -- friendly and nice. however, it didn't seem to work like a well-oiled machine. one person brought out our entrees only to make a U-turn before reaching our table because no one had laid out the main course silverware and cleared out the appetizer plates. i also overheard the manager ask who was assigned to our table because he noticed we had been waiting slightly long for our order to be taken. otoh, i really liked the interior. warm and filled with a lively crowd (sometimes a bit too lively, as evidenced by this one gentleman who was so loud you could hear him throughout the entire restaurant -- i don't care WHO was driving your porsche, hon). the reclaimed wood and the cool light bulbs with visible filaments -- loved it! anyways, it was a total steal, $106+tip for dinner for two including a $12 martini(?) for the bf. read more

after going to frys.com open, my friends and I went here for dinner. our reservation was at 6:45pm and we got seated right away. the restaurant was only half filled. our server - Robert came by and start filling up our water glasses. my gf wanted to get some sparkling water so we order with Robert. but then he said: "oh Thank you, then i will just pour this back to here". as he was talking, he grabbed my glass of water and pour the water back to the pitcher right in front of me. his attitude was really rude, i felt like he was piss because we didn't tell him we wanted sparkling before he fills our water. what's the problem with that? we can't change our mind and order what we want???? his service was the WORST i have even seen. he didn't even tell us today's special until we ask him. very unprofessional! we ordered steak tartar, crab fondue, 2 pork chop and a rib eye. -steak tartar was tasty and mixed with perfect balance. -crab fondue was too salty and over power the freshness of crab -pork chop was crisp on the outside and juicy inside. good pork chop is hard to get and they did a great job - rib eye steak is just rib eye steak, nothing special. BUT it came with potato that was pan fried with fat from the steak. good compliment of the dish at that point, food didn't matter anymore........ the restaurant was nice, food was decent but Service was the worst that i have experienced! there are better choice out there... i don't have to deal with bad service... 4-1/2 Stars. Not our first time at Brix, but our first time not preparing our own Thanksgiving Dinner in many years. The reservations were easy and thankfully not through Tock! It was just the two of us and we were seated right by the front window with extraordinary views of the courtyard, vineyard, gardens and hills at 2:30pm. It was a chilly day and the first rain of the season, so we appreciated that the doors to the courtyard on either side of us were not in operation. If they had been we probably would have needed to wear our jackets, since many folks tried to go out. The room was mostly full and the bar was half full when we entered and the manager greeted us on the way to our table. All of the employees we encountered were extremely cordial, attentive and unobtrusive. The menu was prix fixe (price-wise) with a choice of entrees. The winter greens salad was just about perfect with pomegranate, spiced walnuts and herbed goat cheese. Alongside the salad was an amazing parmesan and garlic soup which I could have eaten for days and a roll which could have been better. My wife's entree was the Roasted Heritage Turkey Breast and Confit Leg with a fall herb gravy and mushroom & melted leek stuffing. She loved it all, but the leg a little less. I had the Braised Short Ribs with a ractlette fondue. This was the first time I've found a short rib that rivaled my own. Perfectly tender and decadent. The fondue was so good that my wife was sopping it up with her roll, which our server noticed and brought us a bit more! The side dishes were all very good and included roasted brussels (with applewood smoked bacon, sage, and balsamic), a delicious butternut squash gratin, garlic whipped yukon potatoes and Bluelake green beans (with mushroom veloute and crispy shallots). There were two other choices for an entree, a pan roasted smoked salmon and a wild mushroom vol au vent, both of which looked great. Dessert was a plate of miniatures for each of us: Pecan Tartlet, Pumpkin Cheesecake, Caramelized Apple Bread Pudding. The servings all looked a bit small when they were brought out, but they turned out to be just about the perfect portions for us, and we were both very hungry going in. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the wine pairings, raving about all three of the selections. My cocktails were perfectly mixed. Aside from a few pretentious and obnoxious patrons (which you can't seem to shake anywhere in the Valley) this was one very enjoyable and memorable holiday meal. read more

I decided to get in my car and see where it took me today and ended up at Brix. Brix is a Napa Valley staple that I drive right past every time I am headed to my faves here. Before I had no reason-after today I might. There were 3 absolute positives about my lunch today: a pleasant and genuinely friendly waiter, the Frank Family Chardonnay I had (recommended by said waiter), and the desert-a luscious "fried pie" that consisted of homemade version of an apple Hostess pocket pie served with cinnamon ice cream and a salty caramel sauce. I may have to try that at home, folks. The negatives were downright annoying. The menu was disappointing-someone is trying to impress too many people with their "culinary genius" instead of just serving people-pleasing fare. Yes, I know we are in heavy culinary competition locally, but come on. Due to being so irritated with the pretentious menu, I opted for a cheeseburger-hoping for something simple like the amazing burger offered at Va Da Vi. I'll take the blame for this one. I know I was hoping for too much. It had such promise-everything here is house made, down to the bun and pickles. When the cheeseburger arrived it was huge, soaked in grease and had the biggest mound of greasierthantheburger coagulated cheese on it I have ever seen. There were positives on my plate: The bread and butter pickles were delish, and the steak fries were cooked to perfection-crispy on the outside, fluffy clouds on the inside. What this tells me is that the sous chef and/or prep guy deserves more credit. Another bothersome occurrence on my visit was when my nearly full plate of food was taken away by an overly efficient busboy (is there such a thing?) before my waiter could look at my plate and notice how little I had eaten and offer to do something about it-or at least to ask if my meal was okay. Seems like a small thing, but it was this restaurants one chance to make up for the sad main dish I was served. So, I will close my MacBook on a sad note here at Brix. Or, maybe I'll have another glass of Chardonnay and forget about it a little. We shall see. read more

I really wanted to like Brix upon entering their establishment. They have the location, atmosphere, a cute little wine shop- the makings of a fabulous restaurant. Sadly, the two stars represent the above mentioned perks. We had dinner out on the patio on a surprisingly busy Thursday evening. The views of the mountains are gorgeous. We were all tipsy from our wine tours/tastings earlier so we were of course very hungry. We needed some good food to absorb all that wine and only to drink more wine at Brix. :) Things went south after the server kept forgetting the drinks we had ordered and taking his sweet little time in taking our order for the food (which we desperately needed). Once the food came I was disappointed. I've had better. I'm sorry no matter how buzzed I am or hungry I am, I will not be tricked into thinking the food is good. I will not be coming back to this place. There are other restaurants in the area with the spectacular views and importantly delicious food. read more

This restaurant has a very beautiful setting and good food. The back of the restaurant has a garden and faces the mountains. We walked around the gardens for a bit while we waited for our food. The portions here were generous and we probably over ordered. We made reservations to eat lunch here but they were not that busy. If you had wanted to eat outside though that definitely needed a reservation. We heard about this place through our Airbnb host who recommend it. read more

There are many restaurant options in the wine country but this restaurant gets 4 stars for it's lovely outdoor patio that looks out on a garden and vineyard with the hills in the background. The restaurant is right on the main road but you would never know it. The indoor dining area looked pretty non-descript so I would go to this place in the Spring or Fall when it is not too cold or hot to eat alfresco. Nice fish dishes and wine selection. Brix puts together a very good brunch buffet. The wait staff is available throughout the restaurant making sure that brunch runs smoothly, and they all do it with very friendly attitudes. I guess it pays to make reservations because we got seated right by the fireplace which was nice and toasty. When we ordered coffee, our waiter didn't fill our cups until we returned from the buffet line so that we would have hot cups o' joe to drink. I really appreciate detail like that. This attention to detail definitely extended into the food because the food looked and tasted delicious! There aren't tons of food put out for the buffet so once a dish runs out, the cooks are whipping up another batch and putting out fresh food. My favorites were the freshly shucked oysters with that apple mignonette, the sourdough pancakes, the brioche french toast, the quiche and the peanut butter cookies. They also served classic deviled eggs and crispy bacon which were tasty options. The only letdown with the food was the frittata with chorizo. The texture was almost eraser-like and I just couldn't eat it. The finale of brunch took place in Brix's garden behind the restaurant. A walk around the garden definitely helped with all the food we ate, and we even got to take a look at the vineyard and the veggie garden. Overall, the food is great but I think the brunch buffet is a bit on the pricey side. Just make sure you load up on the red meat, oysters, shrimp and clams! read more

Great patio with an amazing view of the vineyard and the mountains. When we arrived, we knew we were in for a real treat. The service was impeccable and we trusted his judgement to send us some amazing food to feast on. I started with a blackberry spritzer and we shared the tempura green beans...wow, so amazing! Two Words: OVER RATED. Or, is that one word? Whatever. That's pretty much how I feel about this restaurant: a big, fat WHATEVER. Yes, the ambiance was good, food was good, view from what I hear is good....but to me, it was all forgettable. And, to be honest I would rather forget this whole experience. I did not appreciate our waiter and his service- or lack there of. I felt that he wasn't putting any effort into being courteous or helpful and I believe that a large part of that reason is that our party of 10 were Young Adult...Filipinos. OMG. Brown people? In, NAPA? What could the world be coming to? Perhaps we were out of our element, but I don't think our waiter helped our experience at all. Our dinner was for a birthday and reservations for the Party of 10 were made before hand. Yet, we were seated at two separate tables right next to the kitchen where, on one part of the night, we witnessed a cook drop and break a glass. Awesome. In addition, our waiter did not explain the wine list, the specials, or even what the hell his name was...which i wish he did so that i could proclaim it on here. Now, I admit, I might not be a wine connoisseur, or a foodie, or someone who frequents five star dining. But, what I am is someone who expects to be treated with the same respect despite my nationality, age, or appearance as everyone else. I don't know if this was just our bad luck with the service that we had that night, but I would NOT COME BACK just from this experience alone. I'm not expecting a Happy Hour or big booths or a group of waiters to come out clapping singing "Happy Birthday" with a huge sombrero, I understand this is fine dining in Napa. However, just because we weren't white, or ready to drop money here and there is no reason to overlook a party and lower your standards in service. MAYBE, if service was even a tad more helpful, it may have salvaged this review, but that was not the case. I feel like the food was over priced and portions were miniature ($30 for 4 scallops in a Butter Sauce), company among restaurant consisted of pretentious foodies who looked down from their noses at us and this was also consistent all the way to the greeters at the door who didn't so much as give us a blink in our direction to acknowledge our presence on our way into the restaurant or out. Growing up in Fairfield and currently living in Walnut Creek, this review is not coming from an ignorant or naive place. This felt like my whole childhood/adolescent years all over again. People who feel like they can judge someone based on the color of our skin or think they can assume how much money we will spend based on our appearance is so shallow and ignorant. It really upsets me that this illiteracy still exists in the minds of people today. Get over yourselves and open up your damn eyes. How disappointing. The good news is that I feel that everyone else in our party didn't notice the horrible service because it was a happy celebration for a birthday and everyone was conversing among each other and catching up on what was new. I was truly disappointed with everything about this restaurant although I feel it had so much potential when I first walked in, so ONE STAR. The atmosphere was quaint but after that one positive, it was a negative experience. There was not one vegan option other than french fries, it took close to an hour to get our food. The waitress never checked back with us. The dishes were bland and incomplete( did not match the menu descriptions). Mashed potatoes were cold. The manager came over to ask how we like our meals and 3 out of the 4 of us expressed disappointment. The manager offered no compensation other than he would inform the chef. With all the restaurants in Napa, my advice is you should skip this one! read more

Another 3.5--went for the Sunday brunch buffet this morning (which we extended until the afternoon) as a special fat kid treat to celebrate the end of my finals. I was initially worried when we rolled in at 11 and the place was basically empty except for us as a few geriatrics, but as it became more lunch time it got swinging. After surveying the buffet scene, I can see why. Although there are a few requisite breakfast dishes (quiche, scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, ham, torta), most of the food that I was interested seemed more lunchy, and it took a few minutes for me to warm up to having beets for breakie. Here's the spread: 1) seafood table w/ shrimp, oysters, and smoked salmon 2) charcuterie table w/ 4 types of cheese (no goat, just bleu and 3 others that are escaping me, a brie I think and 2 other hard things); cornichons, olives, and a basket of focaccia, delicious crusty bread, and godly scallion mini biscuits (I believe I totaled 10 during the course of a 2 hour brunch) and delicious blueberry jam and whipped butter. 3) 5 types of salad--a Waldorf, mixed greens w/ red wine vinaigrette, sweet potatoes (mushed) w/ pine nuts and scallions, beets w/ cherries and bleu cheese, and quinoa w/ cashews. I didn't try the Waldorf, but I thought that the beets were quite nice, the greens were fresh, and the quinoa was pretty tasty (nice crunch w/ the cashews). The sweet potatoes should have been served hot--they were kind of useless otherwise. 4) from the grill, quiche w/ shrooms and leeks (voted excellent by companion), scrambled eggs (weird presentation...only a small bowl was laid out...w/ no charger, so it got cold quickly), tortas w/ poached eggs and chorizo, pepperoni pizza (the menu promised veggie pizza too but it was MIA), sourdough pancakes (which just tasted like normal kind of thin pancakes), bacon, and griddled ham 5) dessert table: cupcakes, variety of cookies (all bite sized, a molasses cookie (fine), a espresso/chocolate (yum), a few shortbread varieties, pumpkin whoopie pie (mediocre), a banana caramel trifle (the winner on the table), apple crisp... not served warm, which is bizarre), and a very small selection of fruit--pineapple, tangerines, and oranges. We tried most things that were not meat based, and none of it blew us away--I liked the trifle the best, and my friend thought that the blueberry scone w/ the blueberry jam was a total knockout. I probably wouldn't return b/c the food was pleasant but not outstanding, but I felt like I had to be gluttonous to make the most of my money, so I ended up eating quite a bit. Actually, I think that we kind of shocked our waiter--I'm quite slim, as is my companion, and after our 1st plate of food he tried to give us the check, which I thought everyone knows is a major service faux pas, but apparently not, regardless, we then proceeded to have 5 rounds of large plates, so we were victorious over the place, despite his lack of confidence in our food housing abilities. He was pretty friendly, but once it became clear we weren't hitting the alcohol he became significantly much less attentive. B for service, B/B+ for food. If you want to be a fat kid, sure, try it, but do a bit more homework on Yelp, there may be other better places. Came here for Sunday brunch with my family. We had reservations set for 12:15 and we were seated promptly. When we sat down, no one really told us where the buffet was, but we were able to find it after wandering around for a bit. They have your normal brunchy foods, seafood bar, and a cheese and charcuterie table. My personal favorites were the eggs Benedict, potato salad with bacon, deviled eggs, seafood ceviche, and oysters, of course. For $42 per person, I expected to enjoy the food a little bit more. Perhaps we should've came earlier, considering that they were running low on some of the food and were not replenishing a lot of dishes. Although the oysters were rather small, I was able to pick out a dozen of the biggest ones they had and they all tasted pretty fresh to me. The service was great. They refilled our waters and mimosas promptly and took away our finished plates and provided us with new utensils each time. The grounds itself are beautiful and I'll probably be back again before my next venture to wine country-- but probably before 11am. read more

My husband and I always enjoy our meals at Brix. We are locals so eating up at the bar in the evening is fun. Reid at the bar always has honest suggestions when it comes to food & drink. He is super friendly and very welcoming. When we bring friends the service in the main dining room is always excellent! We had a great New Year's Eve dinner there this year actually! If you have not eaten outside in their garden your missing one of the valley's most beautiful outdoor dining environments. Last night we shared the Buratta & Butter Leaf salad and we each had the Parpadelle Bolognese. The salad was light, and delicious! Perfect! The main was incredible! When it arrived to the table it smelt like the food I ate in Italy on my last trip. The scent of the food literally was that authentic. Later on that night we figured out why the food was really that good.... Brix has a new chef! Robert Holman, he's incredible! We have eaten his food at Bottega as well, where he formerly worked. Before that I believe he was at Per Se too! Brix has always been such a solid restaurant but my husband and I believe it's about to get to a whole different level with Chef Robert there. This is one of my favorite places to brunch! Bummed out today when we realized there was no coffee service at the table!! Doesn't sound like a big deal, however, they only had one coffee station set up near the entrance to buffet line... so, it was crowded & felt rushed. Even cream & sugar had to be picked up there! What happened here!? This is ridiculous because brunch here isn't cheap, and I expect the have my coffee refilled. The waiters grab dirty plates & fold napkins yet the can't pour coffee!? Doesn't make any sense! Don't ruin the brunch experience here, new management! I'm coming again in two weeks for Mother's Day & hope it's back to the Brix that we know & love!! read more

Love this place. We ordered hanger steak, merlot from Peju, and the B.L.A.T. Everything was perfect! Chef sent out some roasted peppers, we walked the gardens. Always incredible when we visit Napa. read more

Who doesn't like AYCE fresh oysters? I honestly think the quality of their Sunday brunch is way better than Vegas buffet. I even like the fact that variety of their food option is not too crazy so you know what to eat. They have outside seating in a pretty garden and many photo taking spots. Our waiter was so sweet and gentle. Great service read more

It is a real bummer that the service here was inconsistent and haughty. We called the night before to ask for brunch on the patio and they said we can come at 12PM and we showed up 11:45AM. Plenty of time, one would think. The hostess who greeted us though was not friendly nor pleasant and took one look at our group of five guests in a way that made us like we did not deserve to be there. Hmmm. The hostess even somehow got the manager to come out to us to pretty much preach to us why it was not possible to sit at the patio because it was first come first serve. We had to explain that we had called the night before and was told differently. They eventually put us at a table that was indoors but reiterated multiple times why we could not sit at the patio. We were so uncomfortable that we ended up leaving. When you call Brix, make sure you ask for the name of the person you speak to, and make sure you can mention this staff member's name when you come in person so that you do not get preached at. We wish we knew the name of the person who spoke to us the night before as that person sounded friendly and professional over the phone. Too bad it didn't work out. We were excited about coming to Brix and drove all the way from SF just for their patio. :( We ended up going to R+D Kitchen and it was such an immediate difference with their staff welcoming you with smiles and being down to earth and there was beautiful seating outside with umbrellas and lush green trees and genuinely decent service. On November 18, 2016, I made reservations at the Brix for a special birthday celebration. The night was to begin here with dinner for two. We requested to sit in a booth. Initially we sat at the ends but decided to move closer. Much to our horror we found blood, a puddle of blood, on the seat. My wife was disgusted because it appeared to be menstrual blood. Management treated us poorly, down right bad after we granted them the dignity of keeping this quiet. We received no compensation for the ruining of this special occasion. I would not unless you thoroughly inspect, plan an engagement here. read more

My party of four was at Brix on 8/8/2015; our reservation was for 2:30 p.m. Aside from the numerous flies inside the restaurant and the unwelcoming attitude of our waiter (Rob D.), our $200+ lunch for four was, at best, inconsistent. My flatiron steak was spectacular but my wife's salmon was way under cooked. The servers for some reason repeatedly mixed up our orders. Flies excepted, the restaurant's ambience is very nice especially the garden and the restaurant's spacious layout. The hostesses were friendly, in stark contrast to our seemingly perturbed waiter. Amazing brunch!!! Well worth the price. Their grounds are beautiful. They grow their own herbs and greens.

Ok good but service was awful. Was never greeted or acknowledged even once and had to ask for water and coffee. No one explained to us where food was so we had to figure it out ourselves. Guy came over towards the end, refilled our water and then slapped down the bill without even a Thank You or how did you enjoy your meal. Meanwhile, every table around us was given a greeting, explanation of the food layout, drink specials and checked on multiple times. I'd like to point out that every table around us was a specific demographic. Disgusting to see how racism still exists so blatantly today. read more
