Brim has quickly become my go-to spot in Uptown for lunch, a smoothie, or drinks by the lake. Their menu is full of fun and interesting options, as well as local and organic ingredients. Additionally, their options are always gluten-free. Anyone who has tried the avocado toast raves about the bread; the bowls are full of colorful veggies and great whole ingredients. As a pick-me-up, their coffee and cacao smoothie can't be beat. After work a glass of wine, beer, or a hard seltzer with an app such as the hummus plate is really the perfect end to a long day. Brim has inside seating and a patio that allows dogs. Visit for great food and a beautiful view of the lake. read more

As someone who eats a 100% gluten free diet I feel as though I've finally found my place in uptown! The homemade focaccia is amazing, and gives me a break from the traditional mini gluten free bread options. The ambiance is so welcoming, calm and clean. What a great find in uptown! read more

Food was amazing. Service was great too. Only qualm is the food was very expensive for what it was and only Got a tiny slice of avocado. I like the vibe here. Would recommend. read more

I'm bummed to share this review because I really wanted to love this place. I tried the sticky rice bowl. Unfortunately it just wasn't good. The brussel sprouts were undercooked and hard, the poached egg was over cooked, and there were no cilantro greens. Disappointingly, the bowl was ~$17 and I left still hungry. I probably won't try this one again. Even if the food quality improved considerably, the size of the portions for the cost is just too high for me. read more

Yesterday my friend and I decided to check out Brim. What a great experience. The food was exceptional. My bowl had dark chicken in it. When I first noticed it was dark, I thought "rats". Was I ever wrong. I had no idea you could make chicken taste that good. The staff is very friendly, the place is super clean. I will definitely be back. What a jewel, and all healthy food. read more

Terrible food, unless you are gluten free, don't eat here. No seasoning, stale chips that came from a bag, and they didn't put sauce on the coleslaw. Over priced for very basic food. The flys ate more than I did. The only thing good was the service. Tourist trap. read more

Pleasantly surprised. Brim is right across from the lake. Portions are a bit small but everything I had was good! Clean space with kind staff. Would recommend for a quick lunch/light brunch read more

Finally a restaurant that doesn't use toxic "vegetable" oils and prioritizes quality ingredients. For that alone it's well worth the relatively higher costs and tricky parking read more

My friends and I went to brim a day ago, delicious and healthy food, great atmosphere, wonderful location. Perfect spot for a quick brunch and coffee. 4/5 stars because the employees there seemed grumpy. We all have those days, but it was weird. read more

The food was really fresh and the flavors blended so well together. I got the chicken and wild rice bowl and it was delicious. The biggest plus is that the entire menu is gluten free and celiac friendly! My friends also enjoyed their meals. Additionally it's right across from the lake so the view is really nice. read more

I ordered takeout, including a bowl, and an $18.25 BLT. This sandwich, which was supposed to come with chips, had one, ONE piece of bacon. For $18.25. And the chips were missing. The sandwich was swimming in mayonnaise. Did I mention it had ONE piece of bacon? This is not the first time Brim has forgotten something in an order, but it's the first time I felt ripped off, either by shoddy and careless kitchen staff, or by design. We've been regular customers, love their location, and we recognize that their items are priced higher. But this felt over the top. An hour later, Just received an email from the owner, apologizing, and offering a refund. Thank you for prompt response, and good customer service. Changed from 1 star to 3 star. read more

The food at brim was extremely underwhelming. It was very lacking in seasoning and flavor and the composition of the dishes felt pretty unbalanced. Was disappointed when I went for breakfast and they had a few "latte" drinks on the menu but none of them actually contained espresso. read more

During our visit to Minneapolis, I came prepared with a list of restaurant suggestions from locals, but Brim was a happy surprise! My husband and I stopped in for a late breakfast as a short reprieve from out stroll around Bde Maka Ska. The restaurant provides a lovely view of the lake (and one glass wall opened up to create an indoor/outdoor feel). The restaurant is very clean and feels quite modern. They don't take cash, so remember to bring a card. We ordered the breakfast sandwich and an almond milk latte to share. The food was delicious and filling and very clearly made from healthy, quality ingredients. I appreciated that they have lots of vegetarian and gluten free options. read more

Brim is amazing. I've been searching for a place with high quality meats, veggies, desserts and wines! We ordered a gluten free, refined sugar free cake for a holiday party and it was a HIT! Great place for a comforting, healthy meal. Definitely order the paleo bread. SO good. read more

I've had two wonderful experiences @ Brim! The food is fresh, healthy, hearty and flavorful. The rosemary biscuits are amazing! And it comes with a side of EVOO & sea salt. - smoky pulled beef! Very beautiful atmosphere. The food is really good, healthy, simple ingredients. I think this would be a great place for cooking classes. My one complaint would be the quantity of food that is included in a large bowl. I ordered the large salmon bowl for around $20 and it came with the tiniest piece of salmon I have ever seen served by a restaurant and although it was delicious, by no means was this a sufficient portion. Slightly misleading especially if you are hangry. read more

I found this place through a recommendation from a friend and he was right. This place is quaint and has a great view but best of all it has very satisfying and tasty food. I had the market chicken. The wild rice with cranberries along with chicken that was done just right. If you are looking for good food good for you this is the place to visit. The staff if also very friendly and helpful. read more

Brim was delicious and great for people with any type of diet- meat eaters, vegetarians, gluten-free, paleo, etc etc. Good to grab a quick lunch to go or sit in the evening and have a beer or glass of wine. The atmosphere is so cute and we were able to easily find meter parking. It's so nice to see more cute/healthy options like this in Minnesota. I stumbled upon this new restaurant while walking Uptown. At first I thought it was another coffee shop but realized it was a fast casual restaurant. It is a bowl concept like Naf Naf and Crisp and Green but with interesting bases, toppings and meats. Yes meat! It is not a vegetarian restaurant as one might think. I started with the tumeric rice, with the pulled beef and added cauliflower and root vegetables with chipotle sauce. Surprisingly it was extremely filling. It is not one of those restaurants where you need to eat two hours later. It was very tasty! There are some kinks to work out for sure. The ordering gets a little messy, they don't have ice tea ( i know weird) and their outdoor seating is awesome but a little claustrophobic. I want this place to do well! It is a great corner for a restaurant. read more

What a great little find by the Lake. They have great healthy options that have a lot of flavor. Sometimes healthy places are a little bland, but not this place. It is pricey for the bowl so keep that in mind. The only reason this place got 3 stars instead of 4 was because the amount of chicken in my bowl-- it was very minimal. I expected there to be more since that was the protein portion of the bowl. Do try the grain free bread! It was to die for! read more

Well done! The salmon was the best cooked I have ever had! Nice and crispy on the outside, but nice and medium rare on the inside. The combination of flavors in the bowls is lovely. I loved the turmeric ginger latte. Great for kids as they whipped up a bowl with rice, chicken, broccoli, and sweet potatoes. Delicious, healthy, and kid friendly. Great location. read more

I have been to Brim twice now. In a nutshell I would say the environment is very bright and chic and the food is quite tasty. The lake views are absolutely glorious at dusk. My favorite items include the pulled beef and the purple potato puree. The prices, for Uptown, are "fair". Both times that I've been here I've been served by friendly people. I've noticed other Yelpers mentioning a dearth of business for Brim and I might have some ideas on why.... 1. The signage doesn't suggest that it's a restaurant. Seriously, the first time I saw "Brim" on the building I thought it was an architecture firm. 2. Another problem is the lack of parking. There's a few metered parking spots along Lake and a few "free-for-all" parking spots on Knox, but safe to say parking is a logistical challenge in this area. 3. The food isn't hot as I would like. It looks like Brim uses induction heat to keep their foods warm and every single time the vegetables have been lukewarm at best. So there you have it. I think Brim has good food and the ambiance fits the concept well, but they need to advertise better and find a way to serve their food hotter. Parking is a pain so you best live close by or come here in an Uber or better yet, bike your way here like a true Minneapolitan. read more

Tried out this place after looking for restaurants in the area that had vegan options. This is a great place to go when you want a filling lunch that's not too heavy - they have different options for bowls or sandwiches that are really plant-forward, including lots of vegan options. I got the coconut jerk + beans bowl and added avocado. The food lacked some of the flavors I was hoping for, but the coconut jerk sauce was really good and with some extra seasoning (sea salt and black pepper) it tasted much better. It has a really cool atmosphere, with modern tables, chairs, tons of natural light and plants everywhere, plus indoor and outdoor seating that faces the lake for a really nice view. Looking forward to coming back here to give the other menu options a a shot. read more

Very high quality cafe. Food was good and seemed healthy. This is definitely a posh, chick kind of place to eat after a hot yoga session. I'm just not really that hyped as a guy listening to backstreet boys and coldplay while I'm eating a sandwich. The pulled beef was really good though. The bread which had a lot of butter(my preference) was amazing. The beef was bit dry but had good flavor. Lots of plants both inside and out which helped the ambience. read more

Yum. Finally ate my heart out and felt guilt free. This place is adorable--inside is very fung shue with potted plants and an ivy growing over a lattice wall. I sat at the bar overlooking Bde Mke Ska on a dreary day. It was hard to decide which bowl to try--the lady at the counter was so nice and patient and understanding and helped me decide on The Market Chicken Bowl: organic chicken, Red Lake Nations wild rice, roasted sweet potatoes, greens, herbed got cheese, toasted almonds, & cranberries with an apple cider vinegar dressing. Got the small--it was hearty. For $3 more I could've gotten the large and maybe that would've been a better deal since I could've brought some home. Was going to try the Seared Salmon & Dill bowl but her shipment of Fresh caught Salmon hadn't come in for the day. You could tell that each ingredient was of stellar quality. I also had the Spiced Matcha Latte--pure as can be. So many more options to try and then you c an add an additional protein (egg, chicken, salmon, beef, avocado) to any bowl for a little extra. Love this concept. A little different than the traditional goofy tooth bar heavy food ya find around the read more

We were excited to try this restaurant. The menu looked amazing and the photos were beautiful. I ordered a sandwich Which was so oily. Hard to eat. I ordered sweet potatoes and got a salad drenched in dressing instead. My friend got a bowl - underwhelming. The avocado was hard and chicken unappetizing. If they can work on the small details, this place could be really good. Not sure if we got an off day. read more

As someone who has celiac disease, I'm always excited to come across local gluten free spots. It can often be a hit or miss, but Brim was most definitely a hit. Their sandwiches are delicious and made on GF focaccia (we tried the pulled beef and the chicken pesto - highly recommend both). Also sampled some of their baked goods - banana bread, lemon blueberry bread, and an oatmeal cookie. Lemon blueberry was amazing.
