    Coffee

I genuinely love the food and the coffee here, which is the only reason I keep coming back. Everything I've tried has been delicious, fresh, and consistently good. Unfortunately, the customer service is a completely different story. I've visited both locations multiple times, hoping maybe it was just a one-time experience, but it's been consistently disappointing. The girls working the front always seem annoyed that customers exist. No greeting, no smile, no basic friendliness--just attitudes that make you feel like you're inconveniencing them by ordering. It's honestly confusing because the quality of the food deserves so much better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A coffee shop should feel welcoming, but instead it feels like you're interrupting someone's bad day every single time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've worked in customer service before, so I understand everyone has off days, but when it's the same experience across different visits and different locations, it starts to feel like it's part of the culture. I shouldn't leave feeling uncomfortable after spending my money somewhere I genuinely enjoy. The food and coffee deserve 5 stars, but the service makes it really hard to recommend this place. I really hope management pays attention because a little kindness and professionalism would completely transform the experience. They also need to start filling up their drinks a lil bit more when you ask for light ice, doesn't mean that they need to put less milk.

    Ambiance! Area right outside

I had a wonderful silly scuttle over. I waited for a bus that wouldn't show up, and decided to make the day magical. This spot was just what I needed to cheer me up! I ordered a banana bread matcha, as recommended by the barista. They also had some trinkets and goodies, and I picked up a happiness in a bottle tincture. Very excited to give it a try! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I will be stopping back here, this is a perfect little spot on the lake![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food looked great, so I will be returning with the girls.

Cutest spot next to the lake. I have heard so much about it, but just made it here. Everything is gluten free and the best ingredients which I'm so grateful for. We got the gf focaccia (which is so rare) and buffalo chicken. JUST WOW!!!! The drinks were also delicious.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Very cutesy vibe, located at the uptown entrance corner of Lagoon Ave, with a glimpse of Bde Maka Ska staring back at you. The interior sets good expectations of bright and fun, matching the energy of its location.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When it comes to food, if you're ever unsure what to pick, just throw a dart at the rice bowl options blindfolded and go with where it lands, since I have yet to try a bad one. I went with the Umami Rice Bowl this time, which was packed with fresh, intricate, organic ingredients that absolutely erupt with flavor. The staff are also incredibly friendly and sweet. One star off for the overall pricing.. it's a bit steep in my opinion. That said, you're paying for organic sourcing, so it's not unexpected. Five stars for the food alone.

Tasty healthy food walking distance from the lake. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very cute and quaint spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]You walk up and order and can choose to sit either inside or outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The only cons to this place is that it's street parking only and kind of price

I went to Brim for one lunch for one of my friend's birthdays! It is located near Bde Maka Ska, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]they have a patio area which I'm sure would be nice in the summer after a day at the lake![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have plenty of indoor seating, which is what we did.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, and everything is gluten free! The staff is knowledgeable about the ingredients in the food. I had the umami rice bowl (which is vegetarian). It had a nice blend of textures, from the crunch of the broccoli, to the chew of miso mushroom and the runny yolk in the poached egg. Red chili oil is one of the components of the bowl, but it is very mild. The dish overall felt very fresh and light. It's a nice lunch spot for a nutritious, whole-foods option!

some delicious & nutritious bites and sips from brim! [[HIGHLIGHT]]hadn't stopped here for a few years and can see why it's withstood tougher times in the area. a great and peaceful spot to sit in or outside and eat something you won't feel as guilty about later[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] a quick recap: seared salmon & dill // SO good, hearty and filling. the dill sauce is and I love anything pickled. a unique blend of flavors and an item you wont find from many places. (pretty certain) berry lagoon smoothie // also GF & filled with yummy ingredients. needed my fruit fix that I'm always lacking. BLT // made with gluten free bread but you'd never taste the difference.

Brim has the most amazing healthy and organic food and beverages. I love their smoothies, one of my favorites is the PB &C, it includes peanut butter, bananas, cacao, chocolate plant protein, coconut milk and chocolate chips. Their breakfast is so amazing as well.

Lemongrass curry add chicken- a little heavy on coconut milk taste but decent

Visited 11/9/24. Probably like a 3.5/5 rating but rounded up. Visited with a large group of family (made a reservation using Google assistant calling for me which was kind of strange but worked out for us). The place itself is cute although slightly harder to access depending on where you're coming from. Parking may take a bit of time to because at times there can be limited spots. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place itself was super cute and people who worked there were very kind and accommodating of our group's needs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the lemongrass curry and added chicken. The curry itself was like a 3/5 or so-decent flavor but coconut milk flavor was slightly overwhelming and the chicken was in rather large chunks which put me off it a bit. BUT I do have to say that this place for my cousin who is gluten free and dairy free was a godsend and that she was visibly excited at being able to have so many options to pick from on the menu. The mission and execution of this place is so important and cool and I love that they are bringing tasty gluten free food and making it accessible for all. Major props

Felt super excited to check out Brim with my sister who is GF. Went on a Sunday morning around 9:15am and there were already a few folks inside. [[HIGHLIGHT]]At first glance, the location and ambiance is everything I enjoy. It was bright, clean, and a gorgeous space![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You order at the counter and can take a seat inside or outside. I ordered a miel (this was the most delicious thing I had, I'd get this again) and a breakfast sandwich. We also ordered the pesto chicken and the pulled beef. I've heard such wonderful things about Brim, so I couldn't wait to dig in. I feel sad to say but the food was just about inedible. The slaw should be removed immediately. It is truly awful. The sandwiches were below mediocre. I understand it is difficult to make focaccia GF but the texture was way off, it lacked flavor, and really missed the mark. I would be willing to try a few other things on the menu, but the sandwiches and slaw are a hard pass for me.

Love the market chicken bowl but the vanilla latte is my favorite in the cities! Sweet but not too sweet, and homemade vanilla bean syrup--10/10

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside reminds me of a very cute simple coffee shop. Small table seating and some outside facing lake Calhoun.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] What's even better is they have an excellent, full menu of healthy organic choices. Oh even better, locally sourced ingredients! With that the prices are higher than some other places. A smoothie is about the same price as a meal but they have some pretty awesome smoothies. The lemongrass curry bowl was the perfect amount and very fresh. It was lacking in flavor though and missed that umph I was hoping for. [[HIGHLIGHT]]An overall cute place for a quick bite.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The pour-your-own wine concept is honestly so much fun and super convenient. They have a good selection of wines, and some beer and non alcoholic beverages. If you like a sweet wine that tastes mostly like juice, I highly recommend their moscato d'asti!
