My boyfriend order the New York strip and it was juicy and cooked just the way he wanted. Awesome place! I live about 45 minutes away and have been going to St. Cloud all my life- yet I was today years old when I found the best place to get great home cooked meals! There is a great background story on the menu about how it was started and how the grandsons are keeping it going today. Family owned and passed from one generation to the next. Last of the home style restaurants in St Cloud! I grew up less than 2 miles from this place. St Cloud used to have lots of decent cafes (Enga's, Little John's Pub, etc.). Now it is just national chains and FuFu third world ethnic places. Brigittes is an oasis in a waste land of chain restaurants. My wife and I were looking for a good place to have lunch. This was recommended by a volunteer at the Stearns County History Museum 2 blocks away. It is a little hard to find, since it is on a side street. The parking lot was full, so we had to park next door. Surprisingly, we were greeted at the door and seated immediately. Although it was crowded, we were waited on quickly. The daily special was fish. My wife had that I had a pork chop. The food was delicious! There was more than either of us should eat. The staff are friendly and efficient. The dining area was clean, and tables bused quickly. Wonderful dining experience. Real home style food. We will be back the next time we return to St Cloud. read more

Today was actually my second time coming in, and I'm glad I waited to post a review--my first experience was pleasant and the food was pretty good (if just a touch on the greasy side). However, my visit today made me feel hesitant about returning. Firstly, as I observed the 'please wait to be seated sign' a waitress (not the lady who sat me) snapped at me, asking in quite a tone if I was coming in to eat or not--all I had done was crossed the threshold. But whatever, they were busy, and I totally understand the frustration of catering to a breakfast crowd. But I AM not understanding at seating a customer at a dirty table--my table was REALLY dirty, napkins that looked used, sticky rings on the table, a collection of crumbs, spotty silverware with my meal--and there were PLENTY of open tables that looked much cleaner. The lady who sat me, and the server who took care of me made no effort to wipe the table down at all. My food arrived quickly, and while the bulk of the meal was pretty good, the hash browns were slick with grease. But after being seated at a dirty table, I had a hard time really enjoying my meal, wondering just how clean everything else was... To make a long story short: the service is hit or miss (my actual server was a peach but the other three employees I encountered were not), the food is okay (although skip the greasy hash browns) and if you decide to chance it, keep your fingers crossed for a clean table. read more

Anyways we waited for 20 minutes after being seated before deciding to leave. I was in town visiting family and we wanted to grab brunch somewhere that wasn't a chain so after a little Yelp searching, Brigitte's fit the bill. On a Tuesday morning, we found a packed parking lot outside a relatively nondescript building and a busy dining room inside. Despite the crowds, we were seated right away, our server was friendly and efficient, and the food was good. Everything was made to our specifications (bacon was a little soft, hash browns were crispy) and at a bargain. I wouldn't say there was anything particularly special about the food, but a solid staff goes a long way for me. One major drawback, we were seated next to a table of four older, white gentlemen who were the loudest and proudest bunch of bigots I've had the misfortune to encounter in years. It's not Brigitte's fault that garbage humans go there, but these fellows seemed like regulars, so in the future, maybe they could be hidden in a corner with no one seated near them (there were a number of open tables that we considered moving to over the course of the meal). It won't stop me from returning, but I will take a good look around the dining room before sitting down next time. read more

I've been here a few times with my girl friend and each time it is a hit or a miss, hash browns always seem to be super greasy, burgers had no flavor almost like it was a frozen patty. Country fried steak wasn't bad, same with the French toast read more

Amazing food. The meat lovers omelette is just that. A healthy portion of meat both inside and as a garnish on top. All of the meat is cooked to perfection. No small, half cooked bacon like you get at average breakfast places. My "small cakes" are not small. Hash browns are cooked just right as well, which is an underrated aspect to a great breakfast. Lived in the area for 12 years and never been here. We had to drop a car off in St. Cloud so i went online to see if any local cafes around. Yep found Brigitte's. One of the best breakfasts I've had in a while, had 2 eggs over easy (perfectly done), sausage links (4), hashbrowns (perfect) and toast. My wife had the 1 egg, 1 toast, 1 pancake, 1 sausage and 1 bacon. She said the over easy egg was as good as I make! Service was excellent and extremely fast and friendly. Our server got to our table within a half minute of our arrival. She was happy, enthused, friendly, & helpful. Our breakfasts arrived promptly. Me and my mom and daughter went there to eat 10/09/13 and it was my first time... the food was great!!! However... when we paid with a debit card the lady at the service counter threw the receipt away and we asked for a receipt she said she did not have one..so she ended up writing a receipt up for us.
