They didn't charge for the service call and had an estimator, Omar, out here the same day. He laid out all the options and we chose our new HVAC. They scheduled our install for the following week, which is unheard of in this post-pandemic world. Randolph and Bryan showed up on time and were quick in their work. They completed the install and clean up by early afternoon and took measurements for a new custom door to cover the HVAC system. Today Andrey came to install the custom door. He was also quick, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. In fact, everyone involved from start to finish was top notch. The entire process only took three weeks, as compared to five months to replace a broken garage door in 2021 and a year to replace our kitchen in 2022. We already trusted Air Stars because we had them install Mitsubishi ductless units 18 months ago in our granny unit (to replace baseboard and wall heaters and to add A/C). We are very pleased with Air Stars and would recommend them.

We had some cabinet lighting that for some reason was only partially working. And we needed a solution for halogen lights that were literally cooking my kitchen cabinet contents. Tony not only was prompt and arrived when he said he would, he had my non-working cabinet lighting back up in just a few short minutes. And he researched and found for us the correct replacement for our halogen under-cabinet lights. Now we have bright light where we need it, without the warming-oven effect. But wait! It gets even better! We had put up our Christmas lights and they were working beautifully until a person servicing out home did something stupid that caused the GFCI to trip. Ooooops!! -- no Christmas lights!! One phone call to Mark, and he set us on the right path to find that breaker and reset it. Long story short: They know what they're doing and they do it well. If they say they'll be there, they're THERE, and they get there on time, too. Highly recommended for the small stuff, and capable of doing the big stuff if you need it.

He diagnosed the problem in 5 minutes and fixed it in ten. He had to move a single wire on the outlet from "load" to "line." That was it. Ten minutes. The technician also refused to tell me what the cost would be for the work. When I called, the woman I spoke with told me that "the computer" had somehow mysteriously overcharged me for 1.5 hours of labor instead of 1 hour. Oops. They charge a minimum of 1 hour for any service (although there is no mention of this on their website and they certainly don't tell you this up front when you call.) Bottom line: I am still being billed $135 for ten minutes of work and no parts.

Electric Norm had great reviews and seemed to be a local, one-man operation. An eager fellow working hard to run a local business... just the sort of firm I prefer to give my business to. No idea what the history on this operation is but I gather there is no Norm just like there is no Sara Lee or Oil Can Henry. Not a huge deal but... I used the yelp "get a quote" feature which has served me well in the past and sent "Norm" a detailed description of what needed to be done. Basically a simple 15' run of two GFI circuits terminating in a couple of quad receptacle boxes. Probably a couple of hours work at most. Phil, who is apparently the owner responds telling me to call him. Sigh.... if I wanted to call I would have not taken the time to type out such a detailed scope of work message. That and I am hearing disabled and don't have a phone. I inform Phil thusly and am given a list of his requirements to come out which includes providing a mobile phone number to text. I'm wondering what part of "hearing disabled, no phone" went over Phil's head. So minus stars for lack of basic intelligence and reading comprehension skills. And minus more starts for being a "my way or the highway" proprietor who seems to lack basic customer relations. skills. Your experience with this place may well differ from mine. And based on the glowing recommendations here on Yelp it was my expectation that "Norm" would come out, give me a competitive bid and then execute the project quickly and professionally. I wasn't even planning on getting multiple bids assuming the bid I got from "Norm" was in the sane range of a few hunded bucks. So major disappointment there. Extremely rare to be let down by Yelp. Perhaps Phil just has more business than he can handle now and doesn't really need or want mine?
