ProTech was the electrical contractor on our new home build. We had frustrations from the beginning with poor planning and lack of knowledge about the spec'd fixtures and electrical equipment. There was continued staff turnover at ProTech with little oversight or on-site management which resulted in many errors. As problems and questions arose, we were repeatedly asked to solve them for ProTech - even basic questions about fixture install that we're spec'd at the beginning of the project. We spent countless hours researching and resolving issues for ProTech to try and keep things moving forward. Issues continued throughout the project and included lighting configuration mistakes, missed circuits and inconsistent wiring through the house as it was installed by different crews. It was so difficult to get things done, we eventually gave up and removed some items to simplify scope given the lack of knowledge. Quality issues such as damaged wiring and missing circuits were only discovered after the walls were closed making troubleshooting and repair very expensive. ProTech abandoned the project after billing us 80% which resulted in us spending tens of thousands more than our original contract with another contractor to fix ProTech's mistakes and finish the project. In my opinion, with so many quality electricians in the area, I wouldn't risk hiring ProTech for anything other than the most basic tasks. read more

The folks at PTP are very much in demand so scheduling them takes FOREVER. I considered giving them only 4 stars because of it, but realized when you're good at what you do you're in high demand. So I waited several weeks to get my half-day project completed. They were prompt, efficient, knowledgeable and very professional. I would absolutely recommend them but, would just warn you there is likely a wait. read more

Work was OK but the electrician was rude and then billed $120 "change orders" for 5 minutes of work that they offered to do without any mention of the change order fee. Came out three times and each time I had to go over the work again because they did not take notes or read the notes, not sure, but overall I was really unimpressed. Expensive and poor service. Would not use again. read more

When I choose a company to do business with I rank them by how they treat us and our time, how they treat their employees, and how ethical they are. Last week we had an electrician from Pro Tech at our house to replace a buzzing breaker. He had the panel off, new breaker in, test run of the dryer ran, panel back on, all in about 7 minutes. I have never seen such efficiency! Especially when being peppered with questions and offers to 'hold tools, and screws and such'. He was unflappable and fast. I know a few of their employees and they are happy and treated well too. Also, as I ramble on and on...when we had our complementary job walk to assess the situation that I assumed was so dire, we were told that we didn't need to replace a bunch of things that we assumed we needed to. Drew, the estimator, was so honest and up front about not wasting our money on unnecessary replacements of things that still work fine and are safe. Pro Tech Power do a great job. The office people quickly answered many questions and worked with me on many details. Work teams were professional, polite, and efficient. As with all contractors these days, it took a while to get on their schedule for the entire electrical setup for our new bathroom, but they were worth the wait. read more

I'm generally really good at finding contractors. I have a plumber that I'd trust to do brain surgery if he said he could do it (Terry Massey), I have a great landscaping guy, great roofers, arborists, etc. But man do I normally suck at finding decent electricians. Like twenty house-owning years on two coasts worth of Bad At That. At least until now. I signed up with Pro Tech to get a whole-house generator installed, and they've been super on-top of that. They beat the 2021 supply chain insanity by working with a local generator manufacturer (Cummins, which also does class-8 truck engines, so this is a core competency for them). Isaac did a great on-sight and made sure that I knew exactly what my responsibilities were (very few, basically just arranging the gas lines) and what they'd handle (permits, electric, genny itself, follow-up tests, etc.). They nailed the install day - very tidy and came in under-estimate on the time window - and have been routinely following up with me ever since as I've *repeatedly* dropped the *very few* balls that are my responsibility to juggle. I swear I'll get that last 10' of gas line installed, Pro Tech. Not until March, but really. I've been so happy with how this process is wrapping up that I'm getting them to do more electric work on my property. Foolishly, they have agreed, and at a very fair bid. The company is professional and compassionate towards the customers needs, as well as delightful to work with. I respect the business model, and it's employees. Don't ever use this company! I paid an insane amount for a generator, first time it runs its "test" everything is fine. Then when the generator clicks off, so does the power. We call them like crazy, BEFORE THEY CLOSE, and they don't call us back until the next day. They come fix it, tell us the generator needs a part (even though it's a brand new generator) and it's going to take a month to fix it. Ok whatever, no big deal. We tell the guy just to make sure it doesn't keep running these tests until its fixed. He said he turned that off. He didn't. So now I'm having a birthday party for my daughter, it does another test and now we again have no power. I'm calling these morons like crazy, but they're long gone for the day. Even though their message says they're open until 3pm. Awful service, shitty work, and they're super expensive. Don't use these guys! read more

We were without power for eleven days during an ice storm in February 2021 and we were determined that would never happen to us again [25° and no heat is not livable for us] so I started calling generator companies. Pro-Tech is the only one that responded and immediately sent someone out to give us a quote. They took a look at what we needed, answered all of our questions [and we had a lot!] and made a recommendation. At that time we were told it would be months before they would be able to get stock [we heard this from lots of companies and friends who were also trying to get generators] so we put ourselves on the list and waited. They were finally able to get us a generator [yay!] and sent us a detailed list and pictures of what we needed to do; build a 4' by 4' x 4" gravel pad and get a gas line installed [they also recommended a gas contractor, whom we used]. Pro-tech was responsible for all the electrical installation and the installation of the generator itself. There was a little bump in that the generator itself had a little glitch but Pro-Tech worked with the generator manufacturer [Cummins] and got everything fixed and we passed both the gas and electrical installations with no problem. Pro-Tech came out twice to train us on the start up and monthly test [now set-up as automatic] and were communicative and responsive throughout the process. Very happy with our decision to go with Pro-Tech! read more
