It has continued to work effectively, has never broken down and the associated electric bills are much lower than a standard central AC/heating system. The annual maintenance ensures that the system is well maintained and if needed, it also covers any "unexpected" problems that may occur. Sky's technicians have all been outstanding! Kaylah who performed this year's maintenance was no exception! Would highly recommend!

I was considering to add ac compressor and condense coils to my existing furnace and ductwork. I…read morecalled Sky because the company name is on a sticker on my furnace when it was first installed. After the Sky technician had spent much time looking at my furnace , I was being pressured to buy also a new furnace in order to make sure the ac compressor and condense coils will be able to work properly. While my furnace has just been checked and tuned a year ago and was working great, I was not convinced by such pressurized cross-selling tactics of the Sky technician. It was a lot more than what I want to spend and thus no deal. The story did not end there. When winter came after that meeting with the Sky technician, my furnace seemed working inconsistently. It got on and off frequently and barely blowing out the warm air. Then this second winter begins and the furnace seemed dying with only the first 2 burners lit and not the last burner. I checked on Google and YouTube for the probably cause and discovered that the last burner was off alignment when the flame became unable to hopover and stays on to heat up the air flow. I learnt to fix it DIY in about 15 minutes. I suspect that the furnace was trying to repeat to me the recommendation to replace it by that Sky technician. Beginning with looking at paying a few thousands to add ac to an inflated kill all price quote of way over 10 grants, I am back to square one of not spending a penny on any cautionary tales of salesman. The evaluation service was below expectations and certainly bad sales quality of negative value. Zero trust. Too bad !

(When i asked about the thousands of dollars they charged for 'hepa vacuuming', they told me it was to protect the health and safety of their employees when they have the big fans running. Later i learned it's actually the last part of their tidying-up process when they finish a job.) 3) They will ghost you. (When i asked why they had charged me thousands of dollars for equipment well beyond the industry standard, they stopped replying to my emails.) 4) They will trash your home. (After all my walls were ripped out, the workers had trouble finding working outlets for their equpment. One of their workers flipped a bunch of switches in my breaker box, even those clearly labeled 'refrigerator' and 'furnace', and never reset them. Since i was not able to live in my house at the time, it was most of a day later when i discovered that my house and refrigerator had both reached an unpleasant 48F. When asked about it, they tried to blame workers for another company who weren't even in my home that day.) 5) They will provide inaccurate and incomplete invoices. (At first they refused to provide me any invoice, just an email with a dollar amount and an address. When i insisted, they provided various invoice-like documents of varying quality. I have three different invoice amounts for the same job, only one of which aligns with what they billed my insurance company. Heck, one even includes things my insurance company paid for, which seems criminal to me be I'm not a lawyer so that's just an opinion.) I deeply regret letting them bully me into paying them by their arbitrary due date, foolishly thinking that since their own experts admitted the services were unnecessary they would reimburse me. Instead, I've spent months asking for any explanation, and gotten everything from verbal abuse to silence, but nothing like answers.

Their quote came in the lowest and Brandon was extremely helpful on the phone, so I ended up choosing them. - The quote process was great: I submitted their online form, they gave me a call asking for more details, I sent them a few pictures, and they gave me another call with solutions and a quote. The quote also happened to be the cheapest of the 3 companies I got bids from. - The installation went very smoothly. I understand that direct vent water heaters are a little tricky to install, but Brandon installed perfectly. He arrived on time, got rid of our old water heater, and added a new water heater with several fixes: the overflow pipe now runs to the sink, he used a "flex vent" kit so the water heater can sit on the ground, and he put the water heater in a tray to reduce issues from slow leaks since I don't have a basement drain. - After the install, Brandon taught me how to change the temp / turn the water heater off / how to flush it / how to change the anode rod. Very pleased with the work and my new water heater is working flawlessly. The only downside was that there was no permit. I'm no expert on permits. Portland's website says that water heater changes require a permit. Brandon said it's a "gray area" for residential. I am not planning on selling the house and things looked good to me, so I don't mind too much.
