I highly recommend Fix It First Heating and Cooling, especially if you want an honest HVAC company that takes the time to properly diagnose the problem before recommending expensive repairs. I reached out after another HVAC company inspected my Trane XR95 furnace, installed in 2016, and told me the pressure switch was bad (was just replaced 2 years ago). They quoted me nearly four times what I had paid for two years ago. Levi from Fix It First came out today and quickly identified and resolved the issue. He discovered that one of the tubes was covered with cobwebs, restricting airflow and causing the problem. There was no need to replace the pressure switch after all! What impressed me most was Levi's thorough diagnosis, efficient service, and much lower diagnostic fee compared with the other company. He saved me from paying for an unnecessary repair. Thank you, Levi! read more

We had Levi out for A/C maintenance and couldn't be happier with the experience. He cleaned the unit, repressurized the system, and walked us through better maintenance practices -- all without us having to ask. He also volunteered a recommendation for tankless water heater maintenance, which we really appreciated. Beyond the quality of the work itself, Levi was easy to communicate with, showed up on time, and was overall a friendly person. We'll absolutely be calling him for any future HVAC or A/C needs. read more

Levi saved us from taking out an unnecessary loan that would've been financially crippling. His quality of work is impeccable, very friendly yet professional. He came out, diagnosed, called for parts replacements in front of me, never upsold me and gave me a quote right then and there. Levi even gave us tips on how save on energy as well. Just to give a little background, more like a vent (pun intended): We were out of town for 2 weeks during holiday break and when we got back our furnace got loud, like there's a prop plane in the garage that we could hear through the vents. I called what I thought was reputable company having 5.5k 5-star reviews on a popular search engine but only 2.5-star on Yelp. They came out to diagnose and told me I need a new furnace and a/c unit, even though my a/c still works. Before I got an actual quote they sold me their membership program so I could avail for the their discounts and be put on "priority list" for any future services. I had to wait a day to get the quote and they offered financing as well. I felt coerced to apply for the loan so they can install the new unit the next day. I couldn't sleep that night and have this icky feeling that I was making a big mistake. So I cancelled the service as soon as I woke up. I'm so relieved I came across Fix It First. read more

Fix It First Heating and Cooling is exactly the kind of company you hope to find but rarely do anymore. Levi, the owner, is straightforward and honest in an industry that seems to be drifting toward sales tactics and venture-capital vibes instead of actual service. He takes the time to diagnose the real issue and will repair your system if it can be repaired, instead of pushing replacements. We've used him for both service calls and a full furnace install and have been very happy every time. Quality work, fair pricing, no nonsense, and he completely stands behind his work. Highly recommend. read more

Honest. Reliable. Trustworthy. Professional. Man of his word. This is the guy you want. Never tries to upsell us. If it can be fixed, he will. Never leaves a mess, and he knows his stuff. As I sit inside my cool home these past few 90+ degree days, I am thankful for Levi for keeping our older equipment in tip top shape and feel a sense of gratitude. Levi knows HVAC inside and out...don't hesitate to have him care for your equipment...you won't regret it!! read more

Levi came out & did a winter check up on our 20+ year old furnace. He is so knowledgeable and friendly. He didn't talk down to us or try and sell us a new furnace like other companies have done in the past. His rates are reasonable & his honesty and concern for his customers is so refreshing. We highly recommend Fix It First for any of your heating and cooling needs. read more

From the very first phone call to the completion of the job, Levi was outstanding. I really appreciate working with a small, owner-operated business -- the level of care and professionalism truly shows. Levi clearly knows his craft, and he's both honest and efficient. Other companies quoted me much higher for the same work, but Levi's 25+ years of experience speak for themselves. You simply can't go wrong hiring this company. Thank you, Levi, for running such an honest and reliable business! read more

Excellent all around! Prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. I'd definitely recommend Levi.

Levi is amazing! I appreciate having the actual business owner perform the work. He is an excellent communicator and troubleshooter. His hours are great and rates are reasonable. Like the company name says, he will fix it first. The large HVAC companies try to sell you a new system. (This has happened to me 3 times over the past 10 years - once when my unit was only 5 years old!) read more

Levi was amazing servicing my mini split Daikin unit. He did much more what the average heating and cooling company would have done. I got multiple quotes from other local heating and cooling companies and they wouldn't give me a definite answer to final cost. Levi gave me a price of what it would be. Scheduling was simple. I'd much rather support a local business than all these other jokers who claim a $49 special for maintenance. Beware using a place that claims a cheap service price. They will burn you elsewhere. I've already told a couple other people about Fix it First Heating and Cooling. Thank you so much for helping me Levi. read more

When my AC went out I almost panicked not knowing who I could trust to fix it and not oversell me on unnecessary repairs. I read multiple glowing reviews about Levi at Fix It First so contacted him. He fixed my issue, told me what to do to keep it running well and did not charge an arm and a leg. I would recommend him 1000%. read more

I called Levi at Fix It First after reading a number of great online reviews and I wasn't disappointed. We have an ancient furnace that finally gave out. He could have easily told us we would need a new furnace, but instead he knew where to obtain the parts needed and had it up and running like new in an hour, all at a reasonable price. He is friendly, honest and reliable. I would highly recommend his company read more

I've had to deal with a number HVAC service companies in the past, but this is honestly the first one company I would use again. Levi from Fix it First showed up promptly and explained the problem and solution in non-technical terms so I could understand what was going on,which I really appreciated as I know nothing about this stuff. He even mentioned types of things I may need in the future so I can know what to expect. His pricing was really reasonable and, best of all, he seemed trustworthy not like he was trying to deliver a spiel or take advantage which made me feel comfortable having him as my go-to guy. 5 stars for sure and I cannot recommend enough! read more

Levi was great. He diagnosed the problem almost immediately and shared with me his reasoning behind the diagnosis. He explained the instrument readings and what they meant as he was testing. He identified the exact issue and had it repaired within an hour. On top of that he showed me how to clean and maintain my HVAC unit AND furnace to keep it running well. Moreover, he was really friendly, professional, and efficient. Honestly, I'm thankful I found Levi and he's the only one that's ever going to work on my units from now on. read more

Levi was fantastic. He got my AC up and running quickly and didn't try to upsell me on anything I didn't need. He took the time to explain how my AC system works in simple terms, which I really appreciated. He also walked me through the pros and cons of repairing vs. replacing the AC and furnace, and when each option makes sense. Super knowledgeable, honest, and professional. Highly recommend. read more

Levi is the only person that will be working on my HVAC system. A lot of high profile companies charge an arm and a leg for new systems that are unreliable and quite frankly, don't need to be replaced. His upfront honesty and quality of work will save me thousands of dollars. He saved me from an unnecessary and expensive repair. He did a comprehensive clean of my furnace at an extremely inexpensive price. He explained to me the life left on every part and how it's so much less expensive to replace it piece by piece. I have a 30 year old work horse unit, so it would be foolish to replace the whole unit. It's not extremely expensive to use my hvac anyway. Excellent customer service is becoming more rare. Levi gets that and really goes out of his way to help. read more

I got up this morning and discovered my furnace wasn't working so I looked on Next Door for references and found Levi from Fix it First mentioned several times so I called and left a message & my contact information requesting a call back. Within 15 minutes Levi called me back and happen to have an opening that same day! He showed up at the scheduled time and took care of my problems and explained everything as he was doing the repairs!Great customer service and Levi is a very knowledgeable technician. I also set up a service appointment with Levi in the spring of 2024 to do a service on my AC unit as well. This is the you want guy for your heating & cooling needs! read more

Great company and I am most pleased with all the work Levi has done for me. I have a new furnace and found his work to be exceptional and reasonably priced. He came as scheduled, completed the work, and did the work as promised. I live in Lake Oswego and our expectations are often higher than in other areas. read more

Levi was very reasonable and knowledgeable and a nice guy. Did a good job of fine tuning my AC unit. $99!

After calling around to multiple HVAC companies I decided to go with Fix It First Heating and Cooling for a couple reasons. First, the pricing was very reasonable and competitive to others, but mainly the customer service was amazing. Levi Pennington responded promptly, scheduled me within a reasonable timeframe, and explained what was happening/what to expect. I highly recommend this company for your HVAC needs! read more

Levi did an outstanding job. Definitely knows his stuff and is straightforward and open with what he is doing and the costs. Good communicator and is intent on doing the right thing - fixing your system and not up selling you. Highly recommend him. Support a local new business! read more

Fix It First is great! I wouldn't hesitate to give Levi a call with any repair needs. We had the furnace stop working after a power outage and he answered our call at 5 o'clock on a snowy Saturday evening and was able to make it out the next morning to reset the furnace. His price for the service call was totally reasonable and he was great to deal with. read more

Levi did my furnace tune up and am really happy with his working style. He showed up on time ,did all the necessary checks and explained me the functionality of different settings like ventilation controller, damper etc. When I realized my thermostat wiring was weak , he came back immediately for the second time and fixed it. He is such a nice person! I asked lot of basic questions and he explained with lot of patience. He is very friendly, honest ,a nice gentleman and the price is very reasonable. I am looking forward to work with him for my AC tune up in the summer. Thank you Levi ! read more

Highly recommend fix it first. Name lives up to it, just when I was told I needed a new furnace due to a bad board. Levi had it fixed in no time. Great guy and easy to work with. read more

This summer when the temperature was over 100 degrees my air conditioning stopped working. I have a wife and two kids that rely on a constant 70 degree temp, probably like everyone else on those hot days. I tried to diagnose the system myself and came up with 3 options that all would have cost a lot of money, and uncertain about all 3. After calling several different HVAC people and not getting any help due to it being the weekend, I got a referral from my brother and sister-in-law saying that Levi Pennington from FIx it First was amazing. So i called Levi, and he spent over 30 minutes on the phone with me during the busiest days of the year for him. We came up with a good solution and he put my mind at ease that he could fix the problem. He was able to take care of my AC that day after 7pm and he was still going to another house after he was finished with mine. I probably owe my marriage to Levi for keeping us cool this summer. I will always refer him anywhere i go. Ross S. read more

I am so impressed with Levi's work on so many levels. He called me promptly to schedule service, was available very quickly and showed up on time. He quoted me not realizing the neglected condition my air conditioning unit was in, so it took him longer than anticipated but he did not charge me more. He was extremely thorough and did a fantastic job servicing my furnace and AC. The AC unit got a make-over and looks like new. He takes a great deal of pride in his work and has a lot of integrity. I would use him again and again and would highly recommend him to anyone. He's a gem of a find. read more

Fix It First Heating and Cooling is the BEST HVAC service in all of Oregon and that I have ever dealt with in 15 years of home ownership. Levi is an expert at HVAC. There is simply no other way to put it. I had him out on a service for a frozen AC unit and furnace and he had it up and running and tuned in less then one hour of working time. He then answered every question I had and did a full evaluation on my home. His work is impeccable and knowledge and understanding of the industry and your house HVAC system as a whole is the best you will find. His pricing provides EXTREME value for your money and compared to anyone else in the industry you will NOT find better for what you are getting. The only regret you will have is not scheduling him sooner and having him be your lifetime HVAC man. I pray he never retires. read more

I highly recommend Levi Pennington & Fix it First Heating & Cooling (971) 506-5235! After receiving a brutal diagnosis and accompanying recommendation to replace both my air conditioner and furnace units from another business, I went onto Nextdoor and asked for recommendations. I received several and boy am I glad I called Levi! Levi quickly discovered the other company misdiagnosed the problem and not only did I not need a new air conditioner and furnace, Levi fixed the problem for a fraction of the cost and saved me A LOT of money!
