I gave them a quick tour to see where everything was and they knew exactly what to do. Every step of the way they were showing us the importance of the cleaning and how much it'll benefit our house. They provided before and after pictures along with everything their filter caught from the cleaning. It was clear our house needed it and may have never been done since it was first built. They were incredibly friendly, kind and willing to answer my questions. I appreciate the amazing work they did and the care they put into communicating the progress of their work. Overall the cost was the same that was quoted from the initial call - a little over $700. But it was well worth it, knowing our house is operating more efficiently and safely.

While Dane was wonderful in replacing our water heater's anode rod, it was quite bothersome that we…read morehad to pay $250 to have it replaced on a part covered under warranty. The water heater was installed 2 1/2 years ago by Rivival Heating and the anode rod needed to be replaced because "Portland water is so hard and full of minerals". The original quote for labor alone (not covered under warranty) was $340 but we got the manager to bring it down to $250. Still, the water heater is only 2 1/2 years old and that was an expense we did not anticipate when we bought the water heater. The prior one was not broken but when we had Rivival replace our furnace, they strongly suggested replacing the water heater at the same time. The old one never produced brown water but after just two years, the new one did. Maybe the water heater wasn't as good as the previous one? Not sure... Forgot to add, my home warranty service said they could not reimburse me because this is a "warranty issue". And to be truthful, the furnace job was great! Just wish the water heater repair didn't cost me anything. Next year, when it is out of warranty, I'll be able to file for reimbursement from my home warranty provider.
