Grabbed takeout from Brigantine La Mesa and loved how cute the restaurant is ..definitely has date‑night feel. I ordered the Crab Stuffed Tiger Shrimp. Good portion and tasty overall, but the shrimp was a little too salty, probably from the bacon wrap. Sides were great though. I'd come back and try dining inside next time and explore more of the menu.

Can get busy but there's additional parking in a bottom parking lot. Right when you walk up there's a lovely water pond and lush vegetation/trees. You're getting right when you walk in you're greeted and choose from either inside or outside. The staff are very friendly. I went for lunch today and enjoyed a symphony of flavor! The Mai Thai drink is small but mighty. Great flavors, with a kick. The coconut shrimp with mango salsa is the bomb appetizer. They've also got GREAT salads and fantastic seafood dishes. Those bacon wrapped tiger prawns stuffed with crab on a jalapeño sauce with veggies and mashed potatoes are insanely delicious!!

Whatever steak they serve with brunch

We had a wonderful Mothers Day eating on the patio in a relaxing and pleasant environment. I did enjoy the tables are spaced out and you don't feel crowded. We really enjoyed the shrimp and crab fondue! We then got the steak they serve for brunch, crab cake Benedict and French toast with some kind of nuts encrusting it. The food was very good the stand out was the French toast. The crab cake was cold and not well caramelized, ( that was my meal can't give a star for that) which on Mother's Day is understandable for how busy they were. I wouldn't order it again. The open faced taco steak surprise was well received and flavorful. Overall a pleasant experience and will return to try other offerings. The waitstaff made the day feel wonderful. Thank,

Lunch time was busy but staff was friendly and Danielle was an excellent waitress. Pictured are the crab stuffed shrimp with vegetables and the coconut shrimp. Soooo good! The stuffed shrimp was surprisingly rich but it was fantastic. I'd definitely recommend this place to friends!

Came here for a special family celebration, and I am so glad I did! Incredible calamari, macadamia crusted mahi, and banana dessert. Wow-everything was even better than we had anticipated (and my family had raved about this place for years). Service was exceptional. I don't think I've had better service in quite some time. Ambiance was relaxing. My daughter loved looking at the fish on the walls. I would definitely return. My husband said if we're ever in SD again he'd return just for the

What an awesome way to bring in my 54th birthday! Upon entry we were greeted & seated at the most dreamiest table right on the water. The view was breathtaking & the weather was amazing. Our server was very engaging and made great dinner suggestions. Overall we were all pleased with our chosen selections. Then the absolute best ending to dinner, dessert!

I love their Taco Tuesdays and Happy Hours. The Mahi sandwich was really good. I didn't like the buffalo sauce on a shrimp taco but I like the size if the shrimp. I have tried the meat tacos at the Point Loma location and they are good. Service is friendly and fast.

We celebrated my sister-in-law's birthday at the Brigantine in La Mesa today, and it was a total delight from start to finish. Our server, Dale, was absolutely exceptional. He is a fascinating young man who provided some of the best service we've had in a long time. He really went above and beyond to make our lunch special. The food was 10/10 across the board: * Rock Oysters: Fresh and the perfect start. * Macadamia Nut Mahi-Mahi: Deliciously prepared and full of flavor. * The Brig's Famous Fish Tacos: They definitely live up to the fame! Everything was excellent and we enjoyed every bite. If you go, definitely ask for Dale--he made our celebration truly memorable!

This is one of the best places to eat in La Mesa. We always get the swordfish and the calamari every time. The service here is pretty good. They keep the same waitresses for a long time. The ambience is a little dark and public and we like that.

Fish tacos

Original fish tacos are a must - coming on a Tuesday is always a good idea Ordered the salmon plate this time and it was delicious, my 12 year old really liked it Oyster shooters were great - spicy, loved the horse radish

Had dinner here last night with three other people. I had the Ahi tuna as well as two others. My sister had the bacon wrapped shrimp. We had East and West Coast oysters as appetizers. The food was excellent. Our waiter Matt, was amazing! He was personable and accommodating! Nice, comfortable inside and outdoor seating!

What makes this even more frustrating is that I normally tip, and honestly, I probably would have tipped more than 15%. But it's the principle and the fact that a tip was added without my permission that really upset me. A tip should be something the customer chooses to give based on their experience, not something automatically added without being clearly communicated or approved. Because of this experience, I personally wouldn't recommend this place. I hope management addresses this issue because automatically adding gratuity without a customer's consent is not okay.

They're too small of tacos to be charging that much in my opinion. But I frikin love this place, their tacos are good but you have to realize that this isn't a good long term solution. If the tacos were $1.99, I'd still say it's worth it because they're good tacos. Prioritize Chicken, Al Pastor, Carnitas as $1.50 or even $1.99 and the Asada as $2.50 and I think that will retain business here for Tacos. At the end of the day I hope that they realize it and stay in business, I love this place, this is coming from a good place!

We love City Tacos and will continue to visit on a regular basis.) We love City Tacos in La Mesa. We come here often. Normally when you order the carne asada tacos they are made from perfectly charred seasoned beef. I recommended them to my husband and said everything else pales in caparison as a beef eater. What we received tonight was a shredded beef taco with pieces of pork rinds on top. I was so disappointed. If this was an attempt at a replacement or trying something new the cashier should have said something. Please just be honest as to what you are serving for the night so we have the opportunity to make different choices if needed. I'll be back, but now I'll have to ask a lot of questions before ordering since I don't trust the menu.

I wanted to find a sit down spot that could deliver that same citrusy, flavor packed experience and this place was everything. We came in pretty close to closing without realizing, and I hate doing that because I know how it feels working in food service, but the staff still maintained such a great attitude. We were told to seat ourselves and while the inside was way too hot to sit comfortably, the outdoor patio was perfect. Our server brought out water and menus almost immediately and even after realizing they closed at 8pm, we never felt rushed at all. The menu is full of mariscos classics like ceviches, aguachiles, tostadas, and larger plates. Prices range from affordable to a little higher, but the portions definitely reflect that. My husband and I both got tostadas to start. I got the La Special and he got the aguachile tostada, and thinking the portions would be small, we also ordered carne asada fries and a California burrito... which we definitely didn't need... BUTT I am glad we got them because YUM! The tostadas were a 100/10. The portions alone felt more than an appetizer/snack. The La Special was loaded with raw shrimp, cooked shrimp, and octopus, all super fresh with great texture. I just wish there was a little more avocado. The aguachile had that perfect citrusy, spicy kick that makes it addicting. Incredible, and I mean it. Our server also brought out a variety of sauces like chipotle crema, green salsa, red salsa, and sour cream. I added some chipotle sauce to the carne asada fries, which already came with guac and sour cream, and it took it to another level. The portion was huge, especially compared to places charging $20+ for fries. These were around $15 and came with crispy fries, flavorful meat, and a good amount of cheese. The California burrito was $12.99 and really filling with carne asada, fries, and cheese. The tortilla was soft but held everything together well and it hit exactly how a California burrito should. I seriously left with no complaints. The service was amazing, the food exceeded expectations, and this is definitely going into our regular rotation.
