I like the convenience of the drive through. Service was not too fast though and staff were not the friendliest. The adobada tacos are less pricey if you order the TJ style tacos. Some of the pickled carrots looked old as well as the limes. I also ordered rolled tacos and they got soggy so fast but had a good taste. They were also out of the drink I wanted unfortunately. The food was great. My rating was based on the interaction with the one employee overwhelmed working the front of the restaurant plus the drive up window. After receiving my food she rushed off to attend the customers at the front. I waved her back to get a straw for my drink plus my receipt. After checking my bank transactions, the dollar amount on my bank card was higher than the receipt I received. This taco shop does not have a phone number listed to contact them so I had to go through the bank to dispute the amount. Although the food was great, It's not worth the trouble. This particular location has been at least 20 different tacos shops so best of luck to these guys. I have been wanting to try this place because they had a huge sign advertising 1$ tacos! There's always a line to the street for the drive thru when we pass by so we had to try it out. We went inside to place the order and there were only two other customers eating at a table. The tacos were good for $1.99 a piece. Soft tortillas, flavorful carne asada and thick chunks of birria in the quesadilla. The torta was pretty hefty and filling as well. Taqueria Imperial is a delicious and welcome addition to the neighborhood. This place is buzzing with activity. When I visited, the drive-thru was packed, the inside was packed, and the music was blasting loud. People were happily munching on their freshly made Mexican food creations. Outside, a guy was making street tacos, and people were standing around with tickets in hand. It took about 20 minutes for our food to be ready, but it was worth the wait. We tried the chili relleno, fish taco, pollo, carne, carnitas street taco and a birria taco. We also ordered a massive bean and cheese burrito. These ladies and gents make some pretty good tacos. I had a pair of carne asada and al pastor for .99 cent each. Both tacos were very good. The meats were well seasoned properly cooked and flavorful. I liked that they double wrapped with corn tortillas for each tacos. The quality of the corn tortillas was good, too, and so was the guacamole. I hope they offer more than one type of salsa in the near future. They only had one when I came in. It was good, but I do appreciate the variety for different items and such. Had a buddy tell me about this place, and, my brother in law has also been here twice. Sounded legit so I made my way down to try out the tacos. How were they? Amazing! I went with 5 carne asada tacos and 3 adobada (my original plan was to order 10 tacos...thank goodness I did not! These tacos were fat, and I barley finished the 8!). $.99 each, you CANNOT beat that price, anywhere! Tacos are double tortilla and stuffed with meat, topped with cilantro and onions, and a nice amount of guacamole. I preferred the adobada over the carne asada, but both meats were delicious! The ONLY thing that is whack about this place, is the location. Its a bitch to get in and out of. Taqueria Imperial is a newer taco shop on Campo Road. On opening day. They started with 99 cent promotional street tacos but have since changed the price to 1.25 each. Still a great price for a delicious filling taco. A great way to eat good on the cheap. I have written reviews on taco shops before. Residents in my area have many options when it comes to Mexican cuisine especially taco shops. We have them on almost every corner. So why come here? You can taste the difference with their food. Everything tastes fresh and of good quality. Prices are also affordable. You can eat here cheaper than many fast food places. The food in my opinion is also a healthier option. The service and ambiance is what you would expect from a restaurant. It's a wide open dining area that fits many. The employees that work there are super nice. They are also friendly at the drive thru. You can tell the food is good because during lunch hours. There is usually a line of cars at the drive thru. If you got the time. It wouldn't be a bad idea to dine inside the taco shop. Again, plenty of indoor seating. Overall a must try if you're a fan of Mexican food. Definitely a taco shop that separates themselves from other places. Everything I have tried so far is great from the tortas to their tacos. Delicious. Service was friendly and we were glad to see this restaurant expand to this location. Some other options locally, but the menu here adds some things I was excited about. However, they got the order wrong. Instead of 3 tacos, they packed carne Asada fries. Which would be an almost acceptable thing to, but the fries were soggy, and Asada was just so so. We came after they've been open a while. Looks like we'll have to default to other places, because they're just not even average. read more

Yes $1 are wonderful. But when i got a taco de cabeza i had a piece of thick black pubic hair what it looked like in my taco. I lost my appetite. We went through their drive thru and I was a bit annoyed at 1st cus they couldn't hear or understand what we were trying to order. Which I think they should have numbers by each meal due to not everyone knows how to pronounce the name of the meal. But a nice lady came out to our car & help us & took our order. For such a good value and good quality meats, this place is a gem in the neighborhood! If you are ordering TJ tacos here, just tell them how many tacos you want total at the register, and they will give you a slip to hand to the taco guy outside and you can tell him what meats you want, so dont even bother telling the cashier what meats you want in your TJ tacos UNLESS it is fish. I ordered through the drive thru the bacon breakfast burrito and the Mixed breakfast burrito. There was only one car in front of us and we waited 23 minutes. I thought we would have at least received an apology for the wait, but nothing. I was worried the burritos were going to be cold. They were still hot and I ate about 1/4 of the burrito (it is large) but I couldn't taste the egg. There must have been less than 1 whole egg in tbe entire burrito and mostly fries. We saw Taqueria Imperial on TikTok and it was a must try for my son and I. Their TJ Tacos were very tasty and reasonably priced. They do not skimp on the proportions of meat nor the guacamole, as most places do. The service we received was great! The young lady behind the cashier was very pleasant when waiting on us. The dine in was good with great lighting, good music, and nice AC in this horrible weather we have been having! Also, it was very clean! Wow, this is not the same restaurant it was when it opened up just a few months ago. Quality has gone downhill, our tacos were dripping in grease, the guacamole and salsa were very watery. Ok time for an update! They're absolutely terrible now. They stopped the little taqueria stand outside, increased their cc fee, & lastly all of their food sucks. The meat isn't cooked, the corn tortillas are cold. Absolutely not worth it. Went 3x and just 10 mins ago threw away my California burrito in the trash. The meat is absolutely chewy and making our teeth hurt from over chewing. My husband's tacos seemed like they had old meat from the both day and threw it on. Alligences can stand the test of time when it comes to local staples that have held down the Campo blocks for decades. Having 3 decades in the Valley/Oro I've seen places come and places go, some stood strong, some faded before even starting. Bringing the fresh new kid on the block attitude and everything to gain factor to the table. So far it's been a tko on the prices and portions, looking forward to a salsa bar. Don't know the name of it, but one of my favorites is thus chunky salsa with green onion, tomato, onion, maybe cilantro.... reminds me of a blended salsa meets a pico de gallo with fresh chopped added at the end. My first venture was a a trip into the TacoMultiverse, bought 6 tacos and 3 rolled tacos, all under 11.00 The best part was the Al Pastor and Carne Asada! That's not to say the fish, carnitas, chicken and others weren't good, zero complaints here from this a Tacoaficionado. Today im off to the shop this morning to experience the breakfast burritos. The college I work at used to sell about 175 to 250 breakfast burritos daily pre-covid. Commencement at the college would have us make 750 to 1000 burritos by 8am.....so eh i have a love hate rationship with the old breakfast burrito. Horrible service, beyond abusive. The young female who took the order DOES speak English, but PRETENDS that she does not. (We sat close enough to the front that we could HEAR her speaking English when she CHOSE to do so to other customers.) She said her name is Alexi. If YOU don't speak Spanish and/or appear hispanic, Alexi repeatedly goes out of her way to make you repeat yourself multiple times, then she STILL gets the order incorrect. We observed her doing this to other customers as well. It's like a sick game to her. If you are the owner of this business, I would STRONGLY SUGGEST that you consider installing video/audio cameras and monitor your staff. This location has had multiple mexican restaurants all of a similar nature. The food at this iteration is uneven- sometimes quite decent and plentiful, other times, undercooked with skimpy ingredients. It makes no sense at all. I will say that their guacamole has been both fresh and absolutely DELICIOUS every single time we have been there. It is the primary reason we return, despite the many negatives. Also on the plus side: Since there are so few customers, the kitchen turns out your meal very quickly! I have read other reviewers above. It appears that a number of those are friends and family. I have NEVER seen "long lines". There is a person spinning a sign out front every day to try to get customers to come in. The bathroom door does not have a lock. There are no paper products in the bathroom (ie: no TP, no paper towels, etc) There is graffiti INSIDE the bathroom, urine on the floor. There *IS* tons of accessible parking, (because there are not many customers) but the parking lot is in extremely poor shape- so be very careful driving- the potholes & cracked cement and asphalt are both treacherous, even dangerous. BE CAREFUL: Do not park anywhere near the two dumpsters-every time we have gone by the dumpsters are always overflowing and the smell is like a sewer. It will certainly kill your appetite. There is a drive through, but the speaker and microphones rarely work properly. We stopped using the drive through because we had to actually GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE to SHOUT into the microphone in the drive in. It's such a shame the staffing and management is so poor. This is a great location and with a little bit of good management it could be a gold mine for the right owner. read more

After reading the slew of 1 and 2 star reviews, I decided to give this place a try anyway. Primarily because I wanted to try their birria tacos and their street tacos. So I wound up ordering an al pastor taco, a carne asada taco, a birria taco, and 3 rolled tacos. The rolled tacos were very good. The cheese was a shredded an unmelted white cheese (looked like mozzarella) which was different. I do prefer the more flavorful cheese used by other local joints like La Posta. The birria taco was the star of the show here. The meat was juicy and drippy and the taco shell somehow remained crispy. It was a great combo of textures and flavors. The al pastor taco was good. The meat seemed a bit less flavorful than other al pastor tacos that I've had lately, but it was good nonetheless. The carne asada taco was why I rated 4 stars instead of 5. It was definitely tasty, but I bit into a large bone that was lurking inside the taco! Thankfully it wasn't a hard bite and I didn't break any teeth, but that could have been a dental disaster for any customer. They REALLY need to make sure the meat is free of bones! Their street tacos are 99 cents on Taco Tuesdays, so that's the day to go if you want tacos. Just make sure you check the tacos for bones first. read more
