Taco shops open up all the time in San Diego, but Taco Club is already a standout. This place is still pretty new, but I can easily see it becoming a crowd favorite. Located in Spring Valley, Taco Club has a surprisingly large menu with various meat options. They also have burritos, tortas, mulitas, quesadillas, breakfast options, menudo on the weekends plus a few house specialties. The parking lot is pretty small, but the inside is much bigger than I expected. I also loved the interior. It has a clean modern taqueria look with a little retro diner influence from the green tile, dark tables, metal chairs plus exposed ceiling. What immediately caught my attention were the specials. They had Arrachera and Ribeye tacos, which obviously we had to try. We got one of each plus two Carne Asada tacos, one Adobada plus one Lengua. Service was efficient. Our cashier took our order then brought everything directly to the table once it was ready. It took around 15 minutes, but we spent that time enjoying the music plus checking out the salsa bar. One of the salsas had visible cilantro and onion throughout with SO much flavor. Definitely grab some. Then the tacos hit our table. Jaw dropped. They looked incredible plus smelled even better. The Adobada had a generous amount of guacamole with a nice spice coming through from the marinade. The meat was slightly dry for me, but there was still plenty of flavor. The Lengua was easily one of my favorites. Honestly, some of the better lengua I've had around San Diego. They weren't stingy with the portion either. You get a good amount of tender chunks with that rich flavor. Add some salsa on top. The Carne Asada somehow got better with every bite. The meat was insanely juicy with that classic carne asada flavor I wanted. Again, they were GENEROUS with the guacamole. Most importantly, it tasted like actual avocado. None of that mysterious creamy green sauce pretending to be guacamole over here. The Ribeye though... the flavor on this taco was insane. You get a spread of guacamole with a bright herby chimichurri on top. The ribeye was cooked perfectly plus sliced thin enough that it was actually easy to eat in taco form. The tortilla was the perfect vehicle too. Super soft with an almost fluffy texture. The Arrachera had a similar flavor profile to the Ribeye. The cut naturally had a little more chew to it, but it was still delicious. Taco Club has definitely made its way toward the top of my taco rotation in San Diego. I'm not ready to call it one of my absolute favorites just yet because I need another visit first. That Cabeza is calling my name plus there's way too much on this menu I haven't tried. If the rest hits anything like these tacos did, we might have a serious contender. read more

The Taco Club has recently opened in Spring Valley on Troy Street. I stopped in the morning and had a pair of breakfast tacos. I had the tacos with machaca, eggs, and beans for $3.99 each and a cup of coffee. You can also get breakfast tacos with either bacon, ham, or chorizo. The tacos came on corn tortillas and they were great. The beef machaca mixed with the eggs was delicious. The machaca also came with tomatoes, onions, and a little bit of cilantro. The re-fried beans that came slathered on the tortilla underneath the machaca was very good, too. They were well made. They offer regular tacos, burritos, tortas, mulitas, quesadillas, and menudo on Saturday and Sunday. When I visited, the hospitality was very good. The gentleman working the counter was welcoming and friendly. They offer a good salsa bar, as well. There is plenty of inside seating. read more

This place is amazing! I had never heard of it before, but a friend suggested it as a spot for all of us to meet. Apparently, they haven't been open for very long, and I'm really glad we found them! The location isn't the best, especially when it comes to parking. There are probably only 6-7 usable parking spaces, and they could probably fit another 2-3 if they moved the canopy they had set up outside, which they weren't even using. The restaurant itself is super clean, and the staff was on top of everything. Whenever a table would leave, they were right there cleaning it up. Great service all around. We showed up around 7 PM, and it wasn't busy at all. I ordered the ribeye taco, birria taco, adobada taco, and rolled tacos. The order I mentioned them in is also how I would rank them. By far, the ribeye taco was one of the best tacos I've ever had. It was SO good! Honestly, probably one of the best in San Diego. The birria taco was also incredibly flavorful and easily one of the best birria tacos I've had. The adobada was really good and definitely comparable to some of the other top spots in San Diego. The rolled tacos looked amazing, but they were just okay. Next time, I'll probably skip them and order another taco instead. My friends ordered some of the same things, but they also tried the lengua taco and said it was really good. Overall, we will definitely be coming back here often. Anytime we're craving tacos, this is going to be one of our go-to spots. If you're in the area and looking for some really good tacos, I highly recommend checking this place out! read more

I wanted to like this place so bad because I was born and raised in SV but it was horrible. Im still upset about spending $90 here where it would have been better to bit Jack in the Box Tacos. She told me the arrachera was better because they actually cook that meat fresh, which should have been a red flag, but again I wanted this to be good so badly. Arrachera meat was not fresh at all, was not cooked well. Not one person in my family liked it. Rolled taco meat was stale and quesadilla cheese was not cooked at all. Ive seen the reviews and you can tell theyre giving free food to some influencers or having friends and family do reviews. wish this was better read more

This place was absolutely a nightmare I stood in line for 20 minutes before I was able To order. I feel that they are not ready to serve fast food tacos. It was busy but I've been to busier places and I waited another 20 minutes to get my food. If you don't want to waste 1hr of your day here for 3 tacos don't come here you're going to leave super pissed off. Next time I'd rather go to Taco Bell this place is a joke never again read more

New taco spot just opened and we're already obsessed. Love the green tile decor, and the owners came out and greeted us themselves, super sweet. We tried basically every taco on the menu -- carne asada, arrachera, adobada, fish, shrimp -- all delicious, but the arrachera was the big hit with my kids. I randomly came across this taco spot while I was getting my tires done nearby, and I'm so glad I did! The clean sign outside caught my eye, and when I walked into the dining area, I was really impressed by how clean everything was. I also love their hours because they're open from early morning into the evening, so you can stop by for breakfast or tacos later in the day. The owner/manager (I'm assuming) and all of the employees were super nice and welcoming. The tacos were really good, fresh, and came out pretty quickly. Went here are few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of their food. Came back again tonight, and the second time was definitely not the charm. Their signature ribeye taco was positively swimming in grease... the bottom of the tray had at least 1/4 inch of fat in it, and the tacos were unpleasantly unctuous and flavorless. The adobado taco had no spice flavor except for cinnamon, as if I was eating a special Christmas taco. The machaca tacos were really just bad scrambled egg tacos, with little beef, peppers, or onions found in the scorched-tasting eggs. The fish tacos were good. I was super glad that there was a new place that I could go to for delicious food, but now my dreams are dashed against the rocks (of greasy tacos...) read more

My boyfriend and I randomly stopped here for lunch and must say we were so impressed. One of the best tacos I've had. I got the Carne Asada and my boyfriend got a bunch of different ones and they even put chimichurri on the ones he ordered. The quality was amazing. Very clean place! The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered two adobada tacos, a carnitas taco, and an adobada burrito, and everything was so good. I wish I would've taken a photo, but I was too hungry! It definitely satisfied my taco craving. Out of all the taquerias that have been at this location, this place has by far been the best one yet. Our family was craving tacos, so we decided to give them a try after reading some great reviews. The tacos were delicious! The only thing I didn't love was the salsa bar and the quesabirria taco/quesadilla. I've never paid that much for a taco or quesadilla before. I ended up with two "tacos" that cost about $34.50. Went for breakfast and it was delicious. It was so good I came back for dinner the same day! Chile reano burrito, tacos and a quesadilla.. it was all very good ! And the homemade salsas bring it all together. I think I found my New Mexican food spot! Definitely give them a try read more
