Horchata
Michaela I.

Came for dinner a few weeks back, the parking lot is tiny, can be difficult to find a spot, and the restaurant is small as well, only 4-5 tables to sit at. I ordered carne asada fries, horchata, a mini quesadilla, and spicy carrots. The good: the mini quesadilla had good flavor, and both the red and green sauces were fantastic. I especially liked the spice blend in the red sauce. I also felt the prices were pretty good considering how much food you get! The ehhh: the horchata had a great creamy taste, but lacked any cinnamon flavor, I added some when I got home. The carne asada didn't have much flavor itself, which for the sake of fries didn't matter too much considering all the other toppings. Overall, I'd try something else from here if I was in the area, the staff were very friendly and it's nice to support a more local business.

Came back to try them for there Taco Tuesday special . $1.95 mini tacos. Flavor and quality was amazing. We got Carnitas and Adobada. We also got there Carne Asada Chips. Presentation was amazing also liked that they put refried beans on as well. However the meat was cold tasted like it was cooked earlier in the day pulled out from the refrigerator and thrown on the grill for 30 seconds then put together. The chips were tasty. I would give it an overall 6.5 out of 10. Hopefully it was because they were busy. I truly hope to comeback and have a better experience. The burrito I had last time was hot and fresh. So again hopefully it was a one time mistake. That is why I gave 3 stars this experience. The service was great maybe I should have mentioned it right away.

Carne asada chile relleno burrito

I first heard about Tita's taco shop on Taco Fiend's TikTok page and decided to give it a shot. I chose to get a Carne Asada chile relleno burrito. The taco fiend got a surf and turf chili relleno burrito with guacamole. There was a lot of Carne Asada in the burrito and the chile. Riano definitely changed up the flavors for me, but it seemed to be lacking something. Maybe it was the fact I didn't include guacamole. I definitely enjoyed the burrito but next time I come here, I will include the guacamole. Also, when I'm in the area and I stop by. I will definitely try out some of their other dishes.

I came here with my partner excited to try their Tio Taco Burrito Special since I love chile rellano, and it did not disappoint. When we came, we placed our order and our server was super kind. He gave us recommendations, and we followed through. Inside has some seating with lots of decor. We waited a few minutes before our burritos came with the horchata. We ate inside and the burritos were so flavorful. The meat was tender and every bite had a bit of everything. It is more of a dry than wet burrito, but the freshness and quality of the ingredients really stand out!

California Burrito

The burritos were good. Not my favorite California burritos because they use potatoes instead of French fries. It also felt like it was missing some seasonings. The surf n turf burrito got great reviews I think the rice and beans? I'm not sure if there's beans in there but the rice was really good. The staff was nice but there limited seating in there. So if it's busy it gets uncomfortable. Not my favorite, but if you like shrimp and beef in your burritos this is a good one.

I love how small this shop is, there's very limited seating. On a busy day, the lobby will be pretty full, to where it floods outside. Recently this business has been booming due to tik tok reviews so please be patient with the workers there! And lastly, get the Tita Burrito, which has shrimp, carne and chile relleno.

Surf N Turf Burrito so much flavor very filling.

I came to this place. I seen it on what Kev eats. I had very high expectations first and foremost. It's a very small restaurant with a pretty in-depth menu. I ordered the surf and turf it wasn't bad. It was very filling very heavy and had a lot of flavor but I disagree with Kev in the sense that I have had better. It's a good burrito, but I don't know if I would come back to try it again it just wasn't a wow factor to me. I guess onto the next hunt.

Place has kids running around behind the counters with and in and out of the restaurant. Cashier gave lots of attitude and food was okay not great. Their Kids hitting other cars that are parked. The quesadillas have raw cheese not even melted and the carne asada tacos that were suppose to have guacamole are plain. No coming back. Don't recommend at all!

The Taco Fiend burrito

So I had been meaning to come here for quite sometime now and today was the day. I ordered the Taco Fiend Burrito (Tio Taco) as seen on TikTok and I must say it was absolutely delicious. The taco shop was very clean and customer service was on point. Definitely coming back to try some other items on the menu.

Telling others about Tita's Taco Shop, their service was great and friendly. Although I did not see "Tamales" on the menu. Know that the tamales are advertised on the window and are available. (HINT)- Tita's tamales are highly recommend. What else was noticeable was "Tita's peanut sauce", OMG!!! if you like spice or spicy check out their peanut sauce, it is a very complex sauce that includes peanuts. To me the flavors were so new and incredible. I'm pretty sure this sauce alone will, and can enhance the already flavorful food of Tita's Taco Shop. This goes for their tamales, tortas, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, combinations, alternative meals, or soups. Check out Tita's Taco Shop for yourself.

Texano Burrito
Norma M.

Service was good but food was disappointing. Surf and turf was bland and over filled with rice, not at all what I was expecting. The Texano Burrito was missing the pico, fries were somewhat stale. Fish taco did not have chipotle sauce and small thin strip of fish. Not sure we will be returning. Spent total of $60.34, I honestly do not believe it was worth it.

carne asada quesadilla and adobada tacos
Celine K.

i personally liked the quesadilla more than the tacos and preferred the carne asada over the adobada but both were great options. loved the salsas they had too. there's limited parking in the plaza but street parking nearby too

The burrito was so good as well. I was not too fond of the agave syrup drizzle as I don't like mixing sweet and savory, but if that's your thing, go for it! Eventually I only had room for the filling, so that was nice and savory. The cafe de olla was delicious as well. I REALLY commend this restaurant for not using AI graphics. The signs and menu looked like they were designed by a real designer. Great job! My only complaint was that the table next to us had an iPad kid with loud volume. I feel that restaurants should impose policies of not letting personal devices be so loud as to not bother other patrons.

It's huge and we really liked the combination of steak, chicken, shrimp, sausage and chorizo. I really liked how they separated the beans in a cup, the rice and the tortillas. Very neat and clean. 2nd try: My husband tried the Mar Y Tierra Burrito and its very very spicy. We couldnt finish it so we put it to go. I ordered the Enchiladas Sirloin Ranchero and definitely a huge serving. It was my first time to try enchiladas and honestly I struggled to understand what I'm eating. Was it supposed to be super soggy and everything in one plate? I dont understand why they had to put beans within the plate and the plate seems overflowing. I dont know where the Sirloin is. The spicyness was tolerable for the enchiladas but I believe I regret ordering it. I cant finish it so also asked for to go.

We showed up on a Saturday with no reservation and the wait ended up being shorter than estimated which was nice. The place was clean inside and offered indoor and outdoor seating. All of our food had good servings, were tasty, and enough to share. The place is known for their bottomless mimosa deal, which all my friends participated in. One thing I will say is that there was a point where they didn't check in enough for refills but were still strict with the 90 min cut off. I will come back again and try different menu items and maybe participate in the bottomless mimosa deal.

We love City Tacos and will continue to visit on a regular basis.) We love City Tacos in La Mesa. We come here often. Normally when you order the carne asada tacos they are made from perfectly charred seasoned beef. I recommended them to my husband and said everything else pales in caparison as a beef eater. What we received tonight was a shredded beef taco with pieces of pork rinds on top. I was so disappointed. If this was an attempt at a replacement or trying something new the cashier should have said something. Please just be honest as to what you are serving for the night so we have the opportunity to make different choices if needed. I'll be back, but now I'll have to ask a lot of questions before ordering since I don't trust the menu.

Walking into Panchos, you are immediately greeted by a bright, colorful and welcoming scene. It gives you the feeling of walking into your tía's favorite old school restaurant. The tables and benches are dark wood. And there is papel picado hanging. It's charming. You get the feeling that Panchos has been around for decades. Apparently, the restaurant has been open here since 2004. And the real star? Our server, whose name I cannot recall. He was equal parts waiter and comedian, a very kind man who was highly attentive and extremely helpful. If you like spicy salsa, be sure to tell him to bring you the good stuff from the back (after he offers you bland Tapatio). The menu is absolutely massive. They have breakfast burritos, breakfast plates, chips and fries, shrimp plates, soups (check with the team about offerings, like caldo de res), tortas, quesadillas and a kid's menu and more. I highly recommend the cheese enchiladas and the chile relleno. The chile relleno is especially good. It isn't your soggy, cafeteria-style relleno drowned in red sauce and regret. It is the best comfort food, and Panchos does it well. There is a generous melt of Oaxacan cheese, the batter is very light without being greasy. And then there was the ranchero sauce! Tangy tomatoes, a hint of garlic, and a tiny bit of chili. So very good. Also popular on the menu is a pitcher of margaritas, which you should plan on sharing with three others. The mango margarita is also quite nice. And they also have a Baileys & Coffee. And you can easily get a delicious, filling meal for $20 or less. All around, a great place.
