Wednesday special. Carne asada fries plus a drink. Only $14 and piled high. Yes!!!
Paul S.

Santanas is a solid 24 hour taco shop with daily specials and menudo on the weekends. When I am pressed for time. I occasionally go through the drive thru for anything from rolled tacos to a carne asada burrito. The prices are fairly moderate and the quality is good. The service is also good. It's a no frills dining experience. Support local businesses especially the good ones. Santanas is one of the good ones. Eat here.

Carne asada chips never disappoint!

Best carne asada chips! Every single time we order them they are delicious and the chips are fresh! Also the La Paz burrito is always so good...

Inflation is outrageous!!! The food is still tasty and service is quick and very friendly. As long as quality of food and efficient service is still happening then we'll continue to be customers in the neighborhood.

I've hated on this place long enough. If you take into consideration value and portion size I definitely think this spot is worth the time. Portions are a bit smaller than Sarita's but some items are definitely worth your time. The $2.30 taco Tuesday deal is pretty good. Tons of flavor on carnitas and carne asada. Monday $2.80 fish taco is a great deal as well. Good rolled tacos and 9/10 Horchata. There is a 3.5% service charge for debit or credit card but outside of that I would slide on by

This place is under new management and it shows. The workers are friendly and the food is amazing. You get what you pay for in portions. I would probably say best taco shop this side of spring valley. I use to say Saritas was the best, but Santanas takes the cake now.

$3.75 to add guacamole? $1.95 to add sour cream.... Hell no...
Jimmy B.

Last time for me.... There are plenty of better places in the area, but for the convenience of the drive thru we went to get a burrito.... And while it was decent... I'm pretty sure we were over charged for the guacamole and sour cream... Try La Baja Mexican up the street.. that place is 5 star for food and service! This place... Not so much...

Love the menudo at the location in lemon grove. A bit of a wait but worth it. My husband got the carne asada fries and it was delicious.

I'm so glad we did because it did not disappoint. The space was super clean with a chill, welcoming ambiance, and the cashier was honestly the sweetest. If the owner happens to read this, please give this girl a raise! She was hustling the whole time while keeping such a positive attitude, super respectful, incredibly kind, and very patient. She was the sweetest I have to say! The food was fresh and perfectly portioned. This is definitely going to be my go-to spot from now on. And I have to mention the flan, it was *chef's kiss*!

We ordered: Mar Y Tierra burrito - surf and turf style burrito, steak was so flavorful. Asada burrito - some of the best flavored asada there is in Daygo! Only downfall is they are not cheap by no means but, it's the quality you are paying for at this location! Both burritos out the door was a smidge over $30. Inflation is REAL! Might as well make sure you are getting quality food for your buck! If in the hood, don't hesitate to stop by CONTODO for your taco shop fix!

Sin embargo, en ciertas noches dicen que solo aceptan efectivo, y tuve una experiencia preocupante: me cobraron $60 en efectivo, pero cuando pedí el recibo, el total era $48. I have said this before. Being in Southern San Diego we are just spoiled when it comes to Mexican…read morecuisine. We have so many taco shops in the area. So many that they even outnumber 7-11's. So we have a lot of options. Rambertos is a taco shop that has been in the Spring Valley area very early on. It has lasted the test of time. Since then years later, a Jack In The Box was built next to it and after that just recently a Yoshinoya on the other side. One of the reasons Rambertos has lasted so long is the consistent tasting food. The quality control is very good. Right now it's my family's go to taco shop. With a large menu, there are a lot of choices to pick from. Burritos, tacos, enchiladas, tostadas, sopas and carne asada nachos are among the things you can order. Early morning to late night; you don't even have to leave your car. Just use the drive thru window. With so many taco shops around. What makes Rambertos so special? Well first they have been here for years. So they have to be doing something right. With so many changes all around. Rambertos still remains a constant. Secondly, the taco shop serves some of the best Mexican cuisine in the Valley. Thirdly, with everything from gas to groceries. Everything is expensive. Rambertos is affordable and won't break the bank. So support local businesses especially the good ones. Rambertos is exceptional.

Their salsa is basic not much flavor to it. The one thing I was flabbergasted about was, I ordered a side of rice, they gave me a large sauce cup of rice for $2.99. My whole meal was about $20. Needless to say, this was my first and last time I spend money here. Super disappointed. 100% DO NOT recommend.

On Tuesday you can get a combination plate for at a discount rate served with beans and rice. The California burrito is made with hash browns, meat, cheese and pico and I believe it's supposed to come with sour cream. This burrito, to me, is better than the ones within my immediate area which is why I'll make the short drive to this joint!!! Their regular Carna Asada burrito has guacamole & it's delicious. They don't except credit cards so bring cash. They have an ATM machine inside but of course you're gonna have surcharge fees from your banks. If you need something else, like cash then go to 7-Eleven they also have ATMs. They don't offer restrooms for customers but they do have a station where you can wash your hands.
