Service is TERRIBLE!!! The girl at the front (skinnier one) is a joke! She has to be family as that's the only way she has a job. She was on her cell phone when I ordered, didn't put it down and then just gave me dirty judgy looks the whole time I waited. This is a no frills Mexican Food stop. I got a carne asada burrito that was juicy and flavorful. It was pretty large too. Guac was fresh and delicious. I only detracted a star, because as I said it's no frills, you come for the food not for the vibe or the customer service (which is nonexistent). I place more value on good food than ambiance, but sometimes I want to sit and enjoy the vibe. read more

I gave three stars for the food.. When you come in, the workers are never very friendly. The females kinda give you dirty looks and have an attitude when they help you. . The food is delicious even though they don't always keep the portions the same, sometimes if you get a California burrito, it might have a tiny bit of meat or it might have the right amount. I called in my order at 12:07pm, was told 10 minutes, and here I am, already paid, still waiting for my food and it's 12:23. worst taco shop I've ever been to, for starters The staff was very rude, and my order was made incorrectly. I clearly ordered Mexican street tacos and specifically mentioned I have a dairy allergy, yet they still added cheese and sour cream. When I pointed out the mistake, I was told I would have to pay all over again for them to fix it--which is unacceptable, especially when it involves a food allergy. Instead of taking responsibility, the lady working there tried to blame me, even though the staff clearly wasn't paying attention. I could also hear employees talking negatively in the back about the mistake. I would never return and strongly recommend not eating here, especially if you have food allergies. read more

The service was great! I placed an order over the phone and got help right away. Unfortunately I did not enjoy the food at all. It had white rice for its combination plate which was almost $22. Solid little spot to get a quick Mexican fix. Nothing super special about it, other than it's reliable & consistently good, and not terribly expensive. I'm a bit of a traditionalist, so I love their bean & cheese burrito. Really good beans paired with a super good tortilla. The real show stopper is their salsa bar, I absolutely cannot get enough of the red salsa - incredible flavor! read more

Been coming here for some time since I've moved to SD, gave it a couple chances but these last couple of times they've been getting my orders wrong. Consistently excellent service, cleanliness, and food quality. I come here almost daily on my lunch break.

The ambiance is very casual and family oriented! I ordered a regular plate of pollo asado nachos and they turned out to be so tasty. I ordered to go, the service was very fast and I got my food in under 15-20min. The only thing is I would say the food was not hot when received, but it was still flavorful and packed with pollo asado, guacamole and sour cream. I will definitely be returning bc I know they season the meat and they have a ton of sauces in-house to choose from at the sauce bar! read more

Steer clear of this place! My first and last visit was a masterclass in shady pricing and poor service. I ordered the Hash Browns Breakfast Burrito. The menu board clearly stated a price around $11.49, but the cashier rang it up for more. When I asked for an explanation, she just shrugged and said, 'Oh, well, prices are subject to change.' Really? So you can just charge whatever you feel like, regardless of what's advertised? I should have canceled the order right then and there and gone to one of the seven other taco shops nearby, but I foolishly gave them a chance. My two burritos totaled a ridiculous $29. And for what? An average-sized burrito that was mediocre and had sausage instead of the expected bacon, which gave me terrible indigestion. It was not worth the posted price, and definitely not worth the made-up price I was forced to pay. I'm genuinely baffled as to how that kind of bait and switch pricing is legal. To top it off, when I asked for a small bag to put a few of the free, self-serve chips and salsa in, I was told I'd have to pay for them! It makes zero sense for a self-service bar. I'm done with this establishment. I don't trust the overcharging and the expectation that customers won't check their receipts. Check your receipt every time! Do yourself a favor and go to a reliable local spot like Albert's, Pancho's, Santana's, Sombreros, or Burrito City instead. read more

To start, this place has the rudest people working for them... I stayed away for the longest time just because of that. However I tried going back again yesterday, their menu prices are all incorrect, you have no idea how much you're paying for anything. I mentioned that and they pointed to a sign saying "we reserve the right to change our prices at anytime" I'm talking like an average of 2.00 each item. I purchased one item costing $5.38 the next day I see a pending transaction of $25.73 they were unwilling to work with me because I threw away my receipt. I would advise you to stay away from this place... they are crooks and probably overcharge multiple people, thinking that we wont notice the overcharge and who keeps their receipt from one taco?? Went in for Breakfast on a Saturday morning. The service and the burrito were Blah! My sausage breakfast burrito really just consisted of eggs, wrapped in a tortilla with one Farmer John's sausage cut in half. My husband said the exact same thing about his. This didn't make me want to go back! I did appreciate the poinsettia table clothes & the chips & salsa bar. Today's review is August 12, 2018. I don't know what happened to my other reviews but I've given this place five stars in the past as they're very consistent with the quality of their food. Their Carne Asada and chicken is always well seasoned. No fat or gristle's. The staff is super nice and friendly. From chicken rolled tacos, chicken enchiladas, California burritos and Carne Asada torta, everything is great. Update 10/27/18: always a great mean and delicious California Burrito. Bring your appetite because it's large and filling. Especially if your get the chips and salsa. And the hash brown burrito is pretty good. The girl working the front wasn't friendly at all. She didn't give me my change back and when I confronted her she said oh it's because I don't have that change to give back to you. Literally 4 pennys so she could have gave me 5 cents back. I asked for my money back. I don't care how petty that seemed... it was dishonest.
