Costumer service and food preparation. I ordered a California burrito cut in half, mind you wait time was insane there was only 1 person in dining room. When I asked how much longer the cashier attitude was you should have asked if I had orders before yours and I was like well I only saw one person here. 1 maybe she should suggest I have certain amount of tickets before your. I worked at taco shops and the way they worked was they would do 1 phone, and if they had in person 1 in person that way people wouldn't wait that long. So I asked to cancel and get a refund the girl said your is almost coming up but didn't really want to refund. To I waited. When I got to my car the burrito was dripping sour cream dripping!! Took a few bites and threw away it was too nasty to eat. ( maybe if it where just a little bit it would of been perfect, cause the meat tasted good the only thing is exaggerated sour cream. Sometimes you find a gem where you least expect it. Near the Lakeside Rodeo my child started complaining that he was hungry and then he wanted chicken tacos immediately so the nearest thing I saw was this taco shop in the little shopping center next to Dominos 7-Eleven in a car wash. I was at first put off by the homeless people on the ground outside the doorway, However we pushed on through and we're pleasantly surprised at the elegant little taco shop. Sarais' to be exact. We ordered three items. I had the surf and turf burrito two chicken tacos and one quesadilla supreme and I gotta tell you that quesadilla was supreme. It was huge. You had to eat it with a fork and knife and it tasted delicious. The chicken tacos with the bomb perfectly seasoned guacamole and pico. However, the surf and turf was not so surf or turf. I felt it was a lot more rice with two or three shrimps in it and some strips of meat. I could've really tried harder at that one for the size of the burrito it really left to be desired, however I believe we can try again on different items. I was really interested in the tortas so we will probably get back there soon. So if you were in the mood to step over a homeless guy, enter the taco shop, simply pleasantly surprised look no further than Saris taco shop in Lakeside across from the rodeo. I would really wish that we could do something about the homeless, but it's part of society we have to deal with as unfortunate as it is. read more

The businesses in this area do not help enforce the homeless encampments in the area (most businesses do but the business in this shopping area don't). The homeless urinate and defecate directly behind their business in the sand. This is the SAME sand the employees walk through to take trash in and out. This is an extreme health code violation and food safety issue. This area is also extremely sandy so the soiled sand naturally comes in contact with their business. I wouldn't eat any cross contaminated food from this business. I hope they speak with the property owners to stop allowing full homeless encampments behind their restaurant. The homeless also throws glass outside so you risk having glass thrown at your car or messing up your tires. read more

A phone order was placed and 2 crunchy chicken tacos and an order for caldo de res was orderd. When I came in to pick up my order I repeated my order to the woman at the counter . I paid and waited for my order. When I got home I did not get caldo de res I got fish soup and 2 pollo asado tacos . When I called the taco shop and told the woman she argued with me and then hung up . I am not sure how you expect people to want to return when they got the order wrong . Update: went here again and ordered a cheese enchilada plate. We went off of the price offered online as they've been regularly consistent and once we got there, was charged extra for the same plate. When asked about the discrepancy in price, the cashier shrugged her shoulders and still charged us. Haven't been back since then and that was a few months ago. Food isn't worth it. read more

My family used to travel from La Mesa to get food here. This is still our favorite Mexican food restaurant.

I was very hungry & had eaten here before. In the past the food was good & fresh but not at this time. The last two times I've gone there the female at the cash register didn't acknowledge me nor come to take my order. There were no other customers giving orders & there were two people waiting for their small orders. I ordered a Milanesa torta which was so bad. It tasted like the meat was old & recooked with oil that smelled. It wasn't inexpensive either. Because I was so hungry I ate half of it & couldn't eat more because I'd throw up. I drank some Squirt I had to settle my stomache & wash the bad taste out of my mouth. It took a good half hour for me to start to feel better. read more

Came in today to get some food in my stomach. I stood in line attempting to order. The cashier may have been having a bad day (sorry). While waiting my turn someone else that was already dining there cut in front of me and she took his order without giving me a second thought. I ordered a beef taco. When did a single taco start costing $4.18? That is extremely expensive! The taco was larger than I expected however it wasn't worth the price. The meat seasoning was bland and needed hot sauce. Their sauce was actually pretty decent, but not bomb. They may have been having a bad day.. but the cost of the food for the portion you get really wasn't worth it. I stopped in this taco shop for a pair of shredded chicken tacos. I have to say, I have been on the hunt for some great ones, and I found some good ones here, but just not great. We have tried this place over and over again and we are never satisfied. California burritos are always almost cold. The French fries are old, the cheese is never melted and the meat tastes like it has been sitting there all day. Today we tried getting breakfast burritos.. the bacon was so hard and crispy, I thought I almost broke a tooth. The cheese was also not melted. This charge was not on my receipt, but applied to my debit card the next day. More like 3 1/2 stars. Sometimes, when I travel from University Heights to Ramona, I have to stop for a snack. And sometimes, Sarai's is calling my name. I have only tried the Carne Asada burrito. It's really big and there is plenty of guacamole in it. Unfortunately, quantity doesn't always mean deliciousness. It's not bad, just not very flavorful. There is no way I would ever eat an entire burrito. I get tired of the texture and flavor about 1/2 way through. The burrito is about $8. It's good for the price. I'm sure I'll be back... read more

The place was clean and the burrito I ordered was good. I ordered the carne asada burrito and it was on the bigger side and there was plenty of guacamole in there and lots of meat. One thing I do like is that they don't charge you for the pickled carrots and the salsa tasted good. I usually only eat the green and it was fantastic I did try the red and it tasted really good too. This shop used the have the BEST shrimp burrito with lots of flavor and very juicy. Two nights ago my boyfriend came home with two shrimp burritos per my request and we were very disappointed when we cut it in half as there was nothing but rice and five pieces of shrimp and a few pieces of cabbage, very dry. My boyfriend paid 10 bucks per burrito just for it to be full of rice. I feel like we have been scammed. I don't know if they had to cut back because of Covid on ingredients but they should not have even bothered of making this burrito at all. We will not be going back. read more

This is probably my worst experience ever at a taco shop in San Diego. Living in San Diego, it's quite easy to find delicious Mexican taco shops that have authentic original flavors and friendly service. However this one, was AWFUL! I was working in the area and stopped by to order a couple of carne asada burritos and a large drink. Not only was the girl cashier extremely rude, but she has too much attitude for no reason and ignored me for 5 minutes. After I placed my order, I went out to the car to check on my service dog. Because the food was taking so long, I decided to bring my registered, and license service dog inside with me to wait for the remaining part of the time. The cashier girl forgot that I even placed my order, and told me I was not allowed to have my dog inside. I let her know that I had my paperwork with me for my registered dog. Next -she asked what she could help me with. I told her I had placed an order and I was waiting for it, she didnt even remeber me placing an order???????? Well I'm pretty disappointed in the cashier. Because of the way I was treated on Sunday October 23rd around 1 pm... I will never give my business and I will let others know. She didn't agree with a shirt I was wearing ( wasn't harmful) because it had a different political view. She made comments and was very rude. I only said I'm aloud to have my freedom of speech on what and who I like. She didn't know that I'm Hispanic and talked very rude thinking I couldn't understand. Not all taco shops are created equal. My carne asada taco was practically inedible bc the meat was 1/2 fat or overcooked. So gross! On the other hand, for a guacamole taco, it was excellent (the tortillas are really good here even if the meat was super gross). My bf ordered the #2 special w/ 2 rolled tacos, 1 beef taco, a tostada. I added a star for his sake bc he really enjoyed his food. +1 star for spacious clean seating area +1 star for really bomb tortillas. My bf enjoyed his food (so I guess just be sure not to order the carne asada?!) +1 star for serving salsa on our tray, without having to beg for it -1 star for unfriendly front-of-the-house woman, who probably makes babies cry just for fun. -1 star for having worst carne asada I have ever had in my life. The food here is really good. The carne asada fries are HUGE! And have a good amount of actual carne asada on them. I have never had a long wait time, usually done by the time I drive over. The dining area is clean but the bathroom isn't great. I only went it once, I usually just pick up food. Staff is really nice, all the ladies I have conversed with are fantastic. read more
