Never coming back here again. Look at the fries to meat ratio on my Cali Burrito. Bro, that's like 50% fries, 10% meat, and 40% beans. It's not worth $15 for this junk. The only reason this store didn't get a 1/5 was because they offered free sauces and carrots, you fill them up as much as you wanted. "How was the service?" Not good because when people came in and ordered after me, they got their foods before i even got mine!! It was me and my friend, we waited ~20 minutes just for a cali burrito and 3 fish tacos. It's even crazier that my friend had put a nice tip in the tip jar after we paid like dang that's CRAZY. I told him he should've dug his hands in there to take his money back from the tip jar because of that trash service LOL. read more

We arrived at El Cotixan for lunch. They have a huge menu with a variety of different items. My mom ordered the special#13 combo which is 3 rolled tacos with rice and beans, including a can of soda. I ordered a half order of carne asada fries. My mom says she really loved her rolled tacos. The rice and beans were very authentic and delicious. My carne asada fries were pretty good. The fries were a little too greasy for my liking but overall it pretty good. For the price, you do get alot of food. I wish they had fountain drinks instead of cans of soda. I will say they had great customer service, they were friendly and very helpful. There was alot of booths on the inside to sit down. The booth may be too small for some people. The dish was outstanding they also offered carrots which a lot of other establishments charge but they had it out with the rest of the salsa . I've been eating here since I was a little girl. The food is yummy with a perfect price point! They have salsa bar and free spicy pickled carrots & jalapeños. The staff is always friendly. This is a great local family owned restaurant!! The dining area is small (more of a taco shop vibe). They can only seat 16 and have 4 booths that fit 4 adults. The restaurant is always clean. This giant plate of chips covered in all the goodness feeds Becky's entire team and those of us who aren't on the team. It's a little over 10 bucks and it is delicious! I used to come here with my family whenever we traveled to Mexicali and come eat before going back on the road. Was coming back from Glamis, I was craving good Mexican food and this restaurant come up on my suggestion. We went inside, looked at the menu saw the reviews on the Burritos, tacos, Tortas and Asada fries. A lot of the food choices looked so good. It was a hard choice to decide, so I went with the carne asada with abodada and added chipotle salsa with it. My Dad ordered a Menudo with a side of refried beans and chips. The refried beans were so good and tasty with a side of chips. The chips were made freshly hot. And very crunchy. Service is excellent, the cashier gives you great hospitality with that sense of home vibe. Definitely I want to come back again to try more of their food!! read more

I have been here more times than I have actually checked in on here so not too sure what's up with that but what I can say is every time I come here I crack up at the cook(s), the singing, joking and friendliness of the staff makes it a more so down home place. The beans are always on point. Such comfort food that sticks to the ribs but reminds me of so good ol home cooking. The rice is always fluffy and flavorful. The beef rolled tacos are a staple item I get as I get the crunch, some beef and can add more fixings like cilantro, onions and hot sauce with or without pico in it on the top. They pack a lot of lettuce cheese and their guacamole which is more so American guacamole but still good. They are not skimpy. I read others reviews but can't say much about anything else other than the rolled tacos and breakfast burrito are legit with beans added. Used to work in this area and we'd get our breakfast to go after calling it in. The salsa bar is on point but the reds are spicy!!!! The place is always clean and service is quick. I bought a Suft n Turf burrito a few nights ago and it was the worst burrito I've ever had! I counted 4 shrimp total and had more fries than meat. I had to remove fries because it was just an overkill. It was some what dry also. 12$ for frozen fries with some some meat and a couple of shrimp is way too much. read more

Oh man....worst excuse of flan that I've ever had. It tastes like it's made from one of those jello packets and then left out to get super dry. The quesabirria was inedible. Hands down the worst quesabirria I've ever tried. The cinnamon they put in it is extremely overwhelming. The tortilla is not good and all together it was just bad. Didn't even try the consume. The carne asada nachos had a lot of flavor but the meat specifically was cold and had an after taste like it was old. Service was friendly. The Carne was seasoned and cooked really well, the shrimp was bland as was the rest of my burrito. It was dry and only consisted of carne, shrimp and fries. That was it!
