I love their Taco Tuesdays and Happy Hours. The Mahi sandwich was really good. I didn't like the buffalo sauce on a shrimp taco but I like the size if the shrimp. I have tried the meat tacos at the Point Loma location and they are good. Service is friendly and fast.

We celebrated my sister-in-law's birthday at the Brigantine in La Mesa today, and it was a total delight from start to finish. Our server, Dale, was absolutely exceptional. He is a fascinating young man who provided some of the best service we've had in a long time. He really went above and beyond to make our lunch special. The food was 10/10 across the board: * Rock Oysters: Fresh and the perfect start. * Macadamia Nut Mahi-Mahi: Deliciously prepared and full of flavor. * The Brig's Famous Fish Tacos: They definitely live up to the fame! Everything was excellent and we enjoyed every bite. If you go, definitely ask for Dale--he made our celebration truly memorable!

Came here for a special family celebration, and I am so glad I did! Incredible calamari, macadamia crusted mahi, and banana dessert. Wow-everything was even better than we had anticipated (and my family had raved about this place for years). Service was exceptional. I don't think I've had better service in quite some time. Ambiance was relaxing. My daughter loved looking at the fish on the walls. I would definitely return. My husband said if we're ever in SD again he'd return just for the

Fish of the Day (split in half) Up-Charge for extra sides - great choice!

Brigantine Seafood & Oyster Bar. We stopped in for a late meal and was not disappointed. Dishes are plentiful even with sharing. Joey was very friendly and helpful. His service was smooth, polished and connected with us naturally. Joey politely had our Wedge Salad split in half. Lettuce was crisp, dressing was beautifully chilled, and their classic salad did not disappoint. We decided to share a nightly special and agreed to the up-charge for additional sides when split. It was good. The risotto had bits of artichoke in it, side veggies still had a nice snap when you bit into them, and the fish with the lemon caper sauce hit every pleasure button inside me. Brigantine Seafood & Oyster Bar is now on our mind whenever we visit our friends down in San Diego. We can't wait to return!

Had dinner here last night with three other people. I had the Ahi tuna as well as two others. My sister had the bacon wrapped shrimp. We had East and West Coast oysters as appetizers. The food was excellent. Our waiter Matt, was amazing! He was personable and accommodating! Nice, comfortable inside and outdoor seating!

This is one of the best places to eat in La Mesa. We always get the swordfish and the calamari every time. The service here is pretty good. They keep the same waitresses for a long time. The ambience is a little dark and public and we like that.

My cousin and I have a tradition of taking each other to lunch in honor of our birthdays. We usually pick a seafood spot, and this time I was working in La Mesa so Brigantine seemed to be a good choice. I had been to Brigantine before, but many years ago. When I parked in the busy, but large parking lot, I noticed the small pond outside, and the old school feel of the restaurant. The old school feel continued as we walked in. The restaurant was large, with a small bar in the corner, which was packed on a Friday afternoon. There is fishing memorabilia everywhere. We were seated in a large, comfortable booth and greeted readily by our server. I first noticed that the small plate in front of me was dirty. So I sent it back. I understand that can happen so it didn't seem like a big deal until my cousin started drinking his beer and noticed that his glass was broken. It seems like this place could be a bit more careful about the dishes they use. Anyway, my cousin's favorite seafood pasta was no longer on the menu, but our server inquired and they were able to make it for him. I thought it was great that they could do that. We shared the calamari starter and I had the wok-seared ahi. I will say that everything was good, but not memorable. There was nothing that I ate that I would specifically return for. Our server was very good. He checked on us several times and my water and iced tea were refilled regularly. All in all, I think it is a cool-looking older restaurant with some retro appeal. The food is decent, but not my favorite.

Always a great experience here! We love sitting in the bar area. Bartender Blake is super funny and makes the best drinks!!! Always enjoy the "Dad jokes of the day." We always look forward to our Wednesday/Thursday nights at the Brig.

Needed a quick bite to eat so to Yelp i went ... saw Chuys had some good looking food and reviews so we took the 9 minute drive from Parkway Plaza after some holiday shopping. The woman at the register was very nice and the cook seemed to carry a great attitude as well. I noticed many customer coming were returning customers which is something I always like to see. California burrito was packed with meat and cooked to absolute perfection. I could actually taste the carne asada over everything which is honesty rare for me. The guacamole was not oozing out nor was it overpowering the taste of the whole burrito. The size of this thing was as about the size of my forearm! Filled me up for sure!! 6 rolled tacos with guacamole, sour cream and cheese was also perfectly cooked. Perfect amount of crunch on the ends and not too soft in the middles. Plenty of meat in the rolled tacos as well, which you could also taste well through all the toppings! We'll definitely be seeing you again soon Chuy's!!!

I ordered a California burrito and asked to swap in adobado pork. No hesitation, no side‑eye, just a nod and a "you got it." That alone puts them ahead of half the shops in the county. The burrito itself delivered. The adobado came through with that deep red glow and smoky tang, the kind of flavor that feels like it's been tended to, not rushed. Fold that into fries, cheese, and a tortilla doing quiet, reliable work, and you get a bite that hits all the right notes. Rich, bright, salty, satisfying. It's a simple thing done well, which is exactly what you want from a neighborhood taco shop. Chuy's isn't trying to reinvent the wheel. The service was nothing to praise but it was just a simple take my order and get me my food with a welcoming. Cost - The cost is a little bit less than average to average. The big thing for me is the burrito sizes are large. They're more long than bigger in width but they're filled with whatever you order. They also give you a free side of tortilla chips on the side which is a great addition. Food - I've tried a breakfast burrito, a steak and bacon burrito and the hot Cheeto burrito. The quality is great, meat is juicy and flavorful. The bacon came out crispy in my breakfast burrito but not too overcooked. The hot Cheetos burrito was done in a way where the chips don't get too soggy and this makes for a great experience. The side salsa bar has a great selection of salsa and toppings to add to your burrito at no additional cost and all have great flavors. The tortillas have a great taste and the burritos themselves are not super greasy on the outside but have plenty of sauce on the inside. Quick Summary - The food honestly just hits the spot and especially for the price and free chips with the selections at the salsa bar. Can't go wrong here and haven't had any service/wrong order issues.

As soon as I walked in, the modern Mexa-inspired vibe stood out--the place was spotless, including the salsa bar. The cashier on duty was genuinely friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. I ordered the Surf and Turf Burrito and a large Jamaican drink, which came out to $22.72. The burrito was incredibly moist and flavorful, with shrimp cooked perfectly. We paired it with the green avocado salsa and the habanero pineapple salsa fresca--both delicious, with just the right amount of heat. The Jamaican drink was refreshing and not overly sweet, which I appreciated. The only letdown was the zanahorias; they were bland and tasted mostly like vinegar. Aside from that, I'd definitely come back.

I wanted to find a sit down spot that could deliver that same citrusy, flavor packed experience and this place was everything. We came in pretty close to closing without realizing, and I hate doing that because I know how it feels working in food service, but the staff still maintained such a great attitude. We were told to seat ourselves and while the inside was way too hot to sit comfortably, the outdoor patio was perfect. Our server brought out water and menus almost immediately and even after realizing they closed at 8pm, we never felt rushed at all. The menu is full of mariscos classics like ceviches, aguachiles, tostadas, and larger plates. Prices range from affordable to a little higher, but the portions definitely reflect that. My husband and I both got tostadas to start. I got the La Special and he got the aguachile tostada, and thinking the portions would be small, we also ordered carne asada fries and a California burrito... which we definitely didn't need... BUTT I am glad we got them because YUM! The tostadas were a 100/10. The portions alone felt more than an appetizer/snack. The La Special was loaded with raw shrimp, cooked shrimp, and octopus, all super fresh with great texture. I just wish there was a little more avocado. The aguachile had that perfect citrusy, spicy kick that makes it addicting. Incredible, and I mean it. Our server also brought out a variety of sauces like chipotle crema, green salsa, red salsa, and sour cream. I added some chipotle sauce to the carne asada fries, which already came with guac and sour cream, and it took it to another level. The portion was huge, especially compared to places charging $20+ for fries. These were around $15 and came with crispy fries, flavorful meat, and a good amount of cheese. The California burrito was $12.99 and really filling with carne asada, fries, and cheese. The tortilla was soft but held everything together well and it hit exactly how a California burrito should. I seriously left with no complaints. The service was amazing, the food exceeded expectations, and this is definitely going into our regular rotation.
