This ride is a RAILS to TRAILS CONSERVANCY epic ride, so worth it! I brought my own helmet and I will always recommend that you do this too! They do have loaners and maybe a dew rag will be enough separation for you! It's a very easy trip to the trail and the shop is close by with parking in the back- go around to the alley! Having brought it to the Harpers Ferry area to cycle through the area, a broken chain was depressing. We called 3 Points at 4:55PM, 5 minutes before they were scheduled to close and asked if they could help. We got a yes, and the guy in the shop (I never got his name) stayed to help us out. 3 Points got our bike back on the road. We were desperate to have the bike for the weekend and would have gladly paid a ransom to get it fixed. 3 Point charged us a fair and normal price for the new chain, installing it and testing the derailleur's to make sure they were not the cause nor damaged when the chain broke. In addition to staying late to help us out, 3 Points gave us a ton of local information about where to ride, trail access, wineries, local events and restaurants. We highly recommend this shop. If you are a local, I recommend supporting your local business. If you are from out of town and have any cycling related need, I suggest calling or heading straight to 3 Points.

My Bike Doctor didn't have the bike I was interested in although the FREDERICK store had one and I was encouraged to drive out there. As expected, the store is big and full of top notch bikes. The bike J purchased wasn't on sale and I paid full margin. I was taken back after dropping over $1000 on a bike that they couldn't kick in a $19 bottle cage for free. They have a little bit limited selection of accessories, but I decided to pick up a frame pump while I was there. They have a nice selection of T-shirts, and I am pretty bummed I didn't give in to my desire to pick one up, they have some great designs. I had already tried every pump I had at home, stopped at a gas station where the air pump didn't fit my bike, and even had someone use my payment to fill their own tires before I could use the machine. The moment I walked in, I barely had to explain the situation. The gentleman working there simply asked if I had the bike with me and said, "Let's bring it inside." He checked all of my tires, showed me how to properly use the pump I already had at home, gave the entire bike a quick safety check, and had me back on my way in no time. Because of his kindness and willingness to help, I was able to get my mother-in-law to the airport in Washington, DC, on time and still keep my promise to my 6-year-old that we'd go biking in DC afterward. Rented 2 electric bikes for a half day today for about $200 total. My husband, who is 6'3 was put…read moreon a bike that was entirely too small for him, even when he mentioned it, the employee insisted it was correct. After some more back and forth, they switched out the bike for a larger one. Second, the saddle bags on my bike were not cleaned out before my rental - there were empty air cans, a chapstick and trash in the saddle bag. Last, and most offensive - while on my ride, I had an issue where the bike chain cover kept coming loose and the pedal would get caught on it mid rotation causing me to stop suddenly. I completed the ride and when I returned the bike, I mentioned it to the owner Mr. Robert Esti. He indicated that I may have done something to the part as it did not start out like that. I explained that nothing happened and it seemed to be spontaneous. He was rude, dismissive and did not address my concerns. For such a large price tag for rentals, this was not a good value for the experience - combined with the rude demeanor of Mr Esti- I recommend not using this location or the new location in Herndon.
