Having brought it to the Harpers Ferry area to cycle through the area, a broken chain was depressing. We called 3 Points at 4:55PM, 5 minutes before they were scheduled to close and asked if they could help. We got a yes, and the guy in the shop (I never got his name) stayed to help us out. 3 Points got our bike back on the road. We were desperate to have the bike for the weekend and would have gladly paid a ransom to get it fixed. 3 Point charged us a fair and normal price for the new chain, installing it and testing the derailleur's to make sure they were not the cause nor damaged when the chain broke. In addition to staying late to help us out, 3 Points gave us a ton of local information about where to ride, trail access, wineries, local events and restaurants. We highly recommend this shop. If you are a local, I recommend supporting your local business. If you are from out of town and have any cycling related need, I suggest calling or heading straight to 3 Points.

And saw the "under" orientation of the toilet paper, which violates the original patent for toilet paper holders from 1891, where the paper clearly goes over the top. The "over" configuration: * prevents the roll from brushing the wall * makes it easier to grab with one hand * reduces accidental unrolling * and, most importantly, does not make decent people feel like they're living in a lawless society. What you have here is bathroom anarchy. I must admit that tile and brushed metal fixtures actually look really nice, which somehow makes the backward roll even more upsetting. It's like a beautifully plated meal served on the floor. Moreover, the ceiling contains approximately 400 judgmental eyes observing you while you attempt to live your life. The wallpaper on the ceiling (on the ceiling!!!) has a pattern based on the "evil eye" motif (sometimes called nazar), which shows up in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern design. Traditionally it's supposed to ward off bad luck or jealousy. All it does in this case is confirm the establishment has abandoned reason and at least one of the people who work has met a psychedelic mushroom. Still, the vibe everywhere else in this place is amazing and the coffees are very very good!

The moment I walked in, I barely had to explain the situation. The gentleman working there simply asked if I had the bike with me and said, "Let's bring it inside." He checked all of my tires, showed me how to properly use the pump I already had at home, gave the entire bike a quick safety check, and had me back on my way in no time. Because of his kindness and willingness to help, I was able to get my mother-in-law to the airport in Washington, DC, on time and still keep my promise to my 6-year-old that we'd go biking in DC afterward.
