Tom fixed my 2 bikes after all the bike shops said it was not worth it. he did great work and even dropped them off at 1am in the morning! he found many issues with safety, and worn out parts that other shops failed to notice. he rebuilt and serviced at half the cost a regular shop would charge. if you need to save money, time, and peace of mind, get out and go tours is the answer! 10/10 read more

Great experience, many option for bikes and reasonable pricing. Rented 3 bikes Sat. morning and returned them about 5:30. Did not have an issue with the bikes all day, they worked flawlessly. I'm enjoying dinner at Carolina Brothers BBQ watching cyclists ride by on the W&OD path. It's my first time in town and I'm thinking riding would be great. I do a quick search and find Get Out and Go Tours nearby. I call Tom, the owner, and that's when the magic starts. In very little time, Tom has me fitted for a nice Trek 1.5 road bike complete with pedals, helmet, lights, water bottle and directions on how to get to the W&OD trail head from my hotel. I came to town with no bike gear and Tom even offered me his road cycling shoes to borrow. So generous. I didn't take him up on that offer. Everything worked like a charm on my ride. Tom went out of his way to accommodate -- literally. He actually let me leave the rental bike at my hotel and he picked it up from there. Get Out and Go Tours provided me the best service, a great bike and a great price. I can't wait until the next time I'm back in town with time for an evening ride. I'm going back to Tom. read more

I have rented bicycles from GO&G Tours twice and find their services OUTSTANDING !! I am an airline pilot and when we stay in different cities around the country, we often do not have access to actually "visit" the places we stay. WOW, what can I say? Saw them at Reston Town Center and Tom was AMAZING. We ended up getting two bikes, locks and helmets and the BEST customer service ever!!! We're very happy we discovered Get Out and Go! My husband and I just moved to the Ashburn/Loudoun County area and we were surprised there's so much bicycling going on in Northern Virginia. We've rented bicycles twice now with Get Out And Go Tours (the last two weekends) to explore the area, including the Washington & Old Dominion Trail. The bicycles (Trek Verve 3) are in excellent condition, changing gears went smoothly, very comfortable. Clean helmets ;) Tom (owner of Get Out and Go Tours) already adjusted the height of the saddle for us. He has some of the bikes already outfitted with racks and he added panniers for us. I need that to bring along all the stuff I need during a bicycle tour (you know, purse, camera, sunscreen, snacks and drinks). Great service! He knows a lot about the area and is very enthusiastic about bicycling. We need to build some saddle time now, but when we're back in shape we definitely come along on one of his multi-day tours! read more

Easy Peasy! Would absolutely recommend for a bike rental! I do have to say that I was last second planning & though I was on edge about a call back on the rental, it all worked out flawlessly. Spoke to Tom on a Wednesday afternoon & arranged for a bike rental the next morning (as it's by appointment only). Tom was able to provide valuable information including W & OD access point (1 mile away from pick up), route information & most importantly, a suggestion for the type of bike best suited for my adventure without dismissing my request for a different style bike. I ended up picking up the bike Tom suggested from his front porch, under lock & with necessary paperwork... the ability to be on my own time schedule with such easy pick & up drop off, not to mention the prestine condition of the provided bike leaves me no reason to not give bike rentals provided by 'Get Out & Go Tours' a superior 5-star rating! read more

One day back after an 8 day trip from DC to Pittsburgh on the C and O Canal and the Great Allegheny Passage. One of the most incredible things I've ever done. The trip was a perfect getaway, bringing me peace and serenity, a moderate challenge as well as plenty of interesting things to see and do. I want to recommend Get out and Go Tours. I found them in the Official GAP Guidebook and checked their website out. Tom the owner was crucial in helping make this trip an incredible success. Originally I was planning to use a DC bike shop located at the start of the Canal but I was turned off by their attitude, lack of interest in helping me plan ahead, they said "call back a week before you arrive", and the negative reviews others had posted about them. For an extremely reasonable price Tom met me at DC Reagan, provided me with a Trek 7300 for 8 days as well as standard bike tools including a pedal wrench and dropped me off at mile 0 on the canal. He would later meet me at my finish point when I returned to DC, the Iwo Jima Memorial and bring me back to the airport. When I arrived in DC to begin the trip my baggage including panniers was still hours away having missed my connecting flight. I called Tom from the connecting city, told him what happened and he asked me what size clothing i was. In DC Tom met me promptly at the airport with clothing that fit me and told me to head to my first day's planned destination Whites Ferry. When i got there the bags had still not arrived at Toms place so he picked me up and brought me to his place. The bags didn't arrive till late so he offered me to stay at his place. I met his wonderful family, kept on schedule and the next morning I was back on the trail. If you need logistical support for a self supported trip or want to join an organized ride consider Get out and Go Tours. While i was at Toms place other customers were dropping off bikes and calling him for info He is very knowledgeable about cycling possibilities in the area. At first I was concerned about renting a hybrid but the Trek 7300 was a durable workhorse with seat and fork suspension. It handled well, shifted easily, carried a full load of gear and never got a flat. You need someone who is honest and can count on when you plan these special trips, Tom is someone you can count on!!!! read more
