I've been a customer for ten years, and have had consistently great service. The mechanic Beth is particularly stellar. Wonderful attention to detail, and she explains all the repairs and upgrades she expertly delivers in an enthusiastic, down to earth way. Passion for bikes is contagious, and these folks have it. They keep you joyously rolling along. Nice location near W&OD Trail too. Tim is the owner, and his responsive email communication helps a lot too. I'm really loving the folding bike and electric bike that I have bought from this store. They deal in quality stuff, and are great to work with.

This is a great bike store! Lots of cool bikes and goodies! Been here few times and got my firsT Brompton. Ordered in October and got it February, supply chain delays. Couldn't be happier and Tim was very helpful all along the way! Check it out!

Decided to fix up my 10 speed after snapping off the rear derailleur recently. I bought some parts online for a tune-up and a new derailleur, but quickly realized that my older bike isn't exactly easy to figure out. Needed a new derailleur mounting bracket so I brought the old one to Bikes at Vienna. The younger kid I talked to that day was very friendly and helpful. Gave me some good tips, I bought a handful of other items to increase my local business shopping after realizing I should have done that in the first place. Went home and began to work on my bike. Everything went well until I got to the cable for my front derailleur. I couldn't get it to stay tight. I eventually realized I need a new one because the gripping of the clamp is stripped and went back to Bikes at Vienna. This time there was no one out front, and I had to knock on the door. After about a minute or so, the older man who works in the shop with long salt and pepper hair came to the door. He quickly pointed out that I knew very little about the variety of front derailleurs and asked me to bring the bike in and fill out a ticket and someone would get to it. Seeming very annoyed with my presence. I asked if he could maybe show me some options because I had just been working on it and I thought I could probably pick it out. He very rudely cut me off and snapped at me that he doesn't have time to drop everything every time someone comes to the door and that I would need to drop it off, because we were dealing with a virus. Mind you I was standing about 8-10 feet from the door with mask and gloves on. I thanked him and let him know I would go somewhere else. As a professional who takes care of novice customers who rarely understand how little they know about my field, this IS NOT the way you treat people. I realize that I wasn't giving enough information and seeing the bike would've been much easier, but there was no cause for rudeness. You're lucky that you're in a high demand area for bike services. Still, I would recommend somewhere else. See my review for "Spokes etc." They were very helpful, despite the fact that they did not have what I need. They walked me through what I needed to buy and asserted some other questions I had. I'll buy it from their website to support them instead of Bikes at Vienna. By the way here's a pic of my derailleur.

This is an updated review after Trek acquired Spokes in early 2022 and changed the name to Trek permanently as of April 2022. The selection of bikes here is great (if you are looking for a Trek model of course). Back in 2020, the staff did not try to pressure me into buying a particular brand. I really appreciated that after visiting another bike store that was trying to do a hard sell. Also, I was grateful when Spokes Inc. called a neighboring store to find a mountain bike that my 16 year old liked. It was ready in a week or so. Fast forwarding to May 2022, I returned to do a Level 2 tune-up for each bike. It's a bit pricey at $189, but the service charge seemed reasonable given how much wear and tear my sons have put on both bikes (e.g., inner tube and tires needed replacement). One thing that I like about this store is that Trek seemed to retain most of the service employees in the back when it was called Spokes. That's a positive sign that Trek wants to retain loyal customers, and has a clear business model and strategy (i.e., post-pandemic demand for bikes will decrease, but demand for service work will increase). Bottom line - if you're looking for a new bike or need service work, be sure to take a look at the Trek Bicycle Store as one of your options.

Immediate Attention Required - Customer Treatment at Fairfax Location…read more I'm reaching out to bring a serious issue to your attention regarding your Fairfax location. I recently visited the store at the start of the spring season--typically a great time for cycling and community engagement. My intent was simple: get air in my bike tires. My initial interaction with a staff member was excellent--welcoming, helpful, and exactly what you'd expect from a community-focused business. That experience changed completely when your service manager became involved. The interaction quickly escalated into behavior that was demeaning, hostile, and completely unprofessional. I was spoken to in a way that was both disrespectful and humiliating--something I can honestly say I have never experienced in my 64 years. More concerning, I was told I was not welcome in the store. Let me be direct: that is not a customer service issue--that is a leadership issue. This individual represents your brand in the local community, and based on this interaction, does so in the worst possible way. Behavior like this doesn't just impact one customer--it erodes trust, damages your reputation, and pushes business away from what should be a community anchor. I also want to highlight the contrast: your frontline employee created a positive, welcoming experience. That tells me the culture at the ground level has potential--but it is being undermined by management behavior that is completely out of alignment. I am asking for two things: A review of this incident and the conduct of the service manager Clear confirmation of how you intend to address this moving forward I would strongly encourage you to take this seriously. Experiences like this don't stay isolated--they get shared, and they influence where people choose to spend their money. I look forward to your response. --Mark E

We had done some…read more'research', for many months, but quite frankly we had become overwhelmed by the number of manufacturers, features, specifications, etc. etc., and as a result, were unable to make a decision. Long story short my wife ran into Good Vibes Bikes in Rockville (https://www.goodvibesbikes.com/) so we decided to take a look. What a difference! We had the good fortune to be greeted by the manager JAIME MUNOZ whose knowledge of the business was truly impressive! We aren't young and described our needs and use cases, and even though the shop had a bewildering array (100+) different bikes, he immediately directed us to 3 different options which he believed suited our needs. He helped us 'test drive' all three, in their safe parking lot, and we were able to make a quick decision. It was a breath of fresh air! He helped us understand the features and operation of the bike, and patiently answered ALL our questions quickly and direcly... Our bikes will arrive in a few days and we have complete confidence in our decision. If you do take the time to visit their website there is a page (https://www.goodvibesbikes.com/why-buy-from-us) that describes the reasons why buying from them is a sound decision. At first, it seemed like a bit of self-promotion, but after visiting and making the purchase, it all makes sense. These bikes are complex beasts. The idea of two 100lb flat-packed cardboard boxes showing up at our house from some gigantic on-line seller, and spending, likely many hours, assembling them, was more than a little daunting. We consider ourselves reasonably technically and mechanically competent, but having them assembled and tested by professionals before taking them on the road definitely provides a lot of peace of mind... Just the safety considerations alone are worth the price of admission... The additional benefit is they also provide a lot of other services for maintaining and servicing the bikes, which is also a BIG DEAL. I cannot imagine the stress, endless frustrating telephone conversations, and the hassle of trying to fix, or worst case, disassemble and return one of these things to some faceless organization! Bottom line is our bikes will arrive in a few days, and we are very relaxed about our decision. They will assemble and test our bikes and JAIME will give us a call when they are ready for pickup. They will load them onto our bike rack, ready for the nearest trail!! Very impressed with JAIME MUNOZ, and the business model in general. I highly recommend them. If you are in the market for an e-bike, walk in and ask for JAIME, it will make your life a lot easier.
