Absolutely fantastic amazing fish !! A friend invited us to dinner who owns a dive shop and told me one of his customers who is a commercial spear fisherman who supplies them with local fish. Well I was in right there. We had local grouper and salmon entrees and yellow tail appetizers, not only was the fish absolutely fresh and seasoned properly it was cooked to perfection. I brought my parents here for there 40th wedding anniversary. I am sorry to say that the only part of the dinner that was good was the food and the music. While waiting for our table we put an order on at the bar. We were then guided to our table. We let the bar tender and our hostess know. She said she would let the server know. It took about 10 mins to have the server greet our table. We let her know we had drinks at the bar. It took 10 more minutes to get the drinks our frozen drink was melted. She also then let us know we had to wait for water as they had no more water glasses. By this time the table that sat after us had already received there drinks and put their meal order in, We then put our meal order in. Got our salads and had to wait about 10 mins for the waitress to show up to ask for forks. The meals showed about 35 mins later, my dads steak was slightly warm, did not want to complain as we did not know how long it would take to get back. After eating it took us asking another server for our bill. Our server came back another 20 mins later. Then my husband realized the bill was wrong took another long time to fix the bill. We like the location, the outdoor and indoor seating options and we love the food! We have had dinner and brunch. We loved the tostones and grouper dishes. This place was amazing. We were in town only for 2 nights from Orlando. We had been to another local spot the night before, and the service was not good at all. So we went here with low expectations, let me tell you we were pleasantly surprised. We had a party of 9, 5 kids, and our server was so attentive and very patient with us. Noe to the food. I was staying nearby, and Brian's Place was recommended to me by the hotel manager where I was staying. I'm extremely glad she did. I asked to be seated in the bar area, which was cozy and had great energy. Seemed like everyone there was a regular, but I didn't feel excluded at all. James, the bartender, came by quickly and ran through the drink specials. Mind you, the specials weren't "2-for-1 drafts" or anything that lame. No, this dude was mixing up some serious gourmet stuff. I went with an Old Fashioned that was more complex than advanced calculus but much easier to enjoy. While awaiting my order, Brian, the owner/operator/head chef/good dude comes out from the back to say hi and meet the people enjoying his place. For my entree I chose the Grouper with Plantains Three Ways, the signature dish of the restaurant. A very well put together dish, the seasoning on the grouper went so nicely with the plantains that I was actually sad when my plate was empty. To make up for it, I ordered the rice pudding, which was covered in toasted almonds, and could have easily been a dessert for two. For the first time all night, I was glad to be alone, because I wasn't sharing that rice pudding with anyone. Everything was great about this place! My husband had the 20oz ribeye and he 10/10 recommends. It was cooked perfectly! I got the special which was a steak with the best citrus flavor. Since my journey into social media I have reconnected with some old friends, Brian I have known since high school. He's a great guy and I found out he has a restaurant. So off I go into parts unknown(why would I go to hernando beach, clearwater is right there) and there I was. I was seated immediately and asked for the chef. I explained who I was and she happily walked off to get Brian. We chatted, caught up, and I asked what's good. He showed me the colored choices on the menu and that's what i got. Tostones with crab, and the signature grouper with plantain 3 ways. Growing up in Tampa I have lived my whole Life with easy access to amazing Cuban food, Ybor city. So I was stoked he has a Cuban American restaurant. I got the Smoked 17 for a libation and it was just as good as any old fashioned variant. The tostones show up and they are delicious, I might have burned my tongue because i couldn't stop. The grouper came and it was like an art piece in downtown, beautiful. I love when chefs take the time to make the food visually pleasing. Anyone can slop some mash on a plate and sprinkle parsley. The meal was great, the prices were amazing for what i got and yes I'm going back to try his ribeye. Why should you go out there and check it out? Most of the weight stuff there has attitudes they need to be more customer compliant. I complained about not getting dinner rules. They told me they were short on quantity and was rationing and then a table of four sat next to me after I was there they got their food first and when I inquired, they said they were their first which was totally untrue. When I complained, I was asked to exit the restaurant. I walked out the back door and around the side. Ryan's culinary genius is top notch especially in this area but the wait staff sucks. read more

We were in the Hernando Beach area visiting the natural springs. This was such a great place to have finished the day. Perfect combination between Cuban and Italian cuisine. Went there for Eastet Brunch. Had a varied menu. Had the burger. It was ok. Asked for a slice of onion. So what looked to be a 25 lb bag of onions hanging right near the kitchen exit. My wife ate there on Oct 7, 2022. I had the pan seared local grouper with Spanish rice, she had the Sirloin with baked potato. My grouper was dry (overcooked), and my wife's Sirloin was freezer burnt and overcooked, dry and hard. When my wife cut her steak, there was no grain, no juice. The potato was old (I use to grow ). My wife only ate 1/3 of her steak. The waitress deducted my drink because she saw my wife didn't eat her steak. Those plates should have never come out of the kitchen. I've eaten ate places where my meal took longer to serve because the Chef wasn't satisfied with the way the meal came out. We spent $30 and $23 for the meals. Mt wife is a Chef but very polite even if the food is bad,, and we tip the waitress generously because it isn't her fault. Our experience was not good. The chef/owner is personable, but unfortunately, he's also a dishonest businessman we booked the upstairs room. He gave us the downstairs hallway. It was a party of 20 for a wedding, He sat with us and talked for a good 10 minutes about his food, his restaurant he did not mention the fact that he had moved the entire wedding party from the upstairs party room to the hallway downstairs. it made for a very uncomfortable party. If you decide to do business with Brian, make sure you get everything in writing. read more
