Me and my friend came and decided we wanted to get drinks and get the bread next time. I got the taro milk tea and she got the mixed fruit tea. Her fruit tea was pretty good but my taro milk tea was disappointing. They literally just smeared what it looked like to be mashed taro (which wasn't sweet at all) around the sides of the cup and then put milk in it. I essentially paid $5 for a cup of milk. I used to love this place because it had a roasted oolong milk tea, but they discontinued that flavor. Without that, it's just black tea which you can get anywhere. Hope they reconsider. read more

Took the kids to pick up some baked goods and all I can say is MEH. Nothing special about it, to me it was bland. Coming from california I used to go to a lot of Asian bakeries and i think that's what they're going for? Not sure if this is a chain bakery but this place definitely does not compare. The only good thing was the Melli crepe that my kids enjoyed but other than that I probably wouldn't go back for the bread. I think if you've never had Asian baked goods you'd love it but if you've had them growing up you would think otherwise. I don't know maybe I went on a off day who knows. Cute place but will not make it if they can't figure out how to create, and then service, the line. No one has any idea where the line starts, who is next, including the cashiers. There are 'covid dots' all over the floor, again with no indication of where the line is. On my first visit i told the cashier about the line issues and she said they are 'working on it'. I'd have to say that at first sight this place was impressive, but there are still areas they could improve. There is someone at the bread section to assist and there are kiosks to place orders. However, the flow of service still has issues. You kind of have to take the initiative to ask to get what you need and figure out the operation there. Otherwise, no one will try to approach you and somehow expect you just to know. I must have came at a bad time because the initial place I chose to sit had some weird rotten egg smell. I decided to move to the sunroom, which was really nice, so that was a plus. There are definitely a lot of seats for people to sit and socialize or do work. I wasn't very impressed with their milk tea, but their bakery products were fine. They seem to have enough staff now and staff members are polite when approached, but I think they need better flow of service overall. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I wasn't amazed. I would meet here to hang out and socialize with friends and colleagues but wouldn't come specifically for their food or drinks. read more

The bakery section is so good. Anything with meat floss is delicious. Best in Cary area. Some of the pastries were better than what I've gotten in Taiwan. I've been twice and they have a great variety that even getting 3 take out boxes full I still haven't tried everything. Tea I'm split on. I really liked the taro matcha latte (no ice and no sugar option). I got the mango yogurt and didn't enjoy it as much. I think if I customized it more I would have enjoyed it more. They literally just opened up yesterday. It was super busy when I was here, but as far as I can tell. Everybody was just trying to adjust and make things happen so I don't blame them for the wait. The employees were super nice so I can understand their struggles. The bread display was emptying really fast, but they were restocking as fast as they can. I can tell that their pastry is very popular as they were selling really fast. I'll definitely come back later to see how they're doing after the grand opening. read more

I went to buy a birthday cake for my husband this morning. The chocolate cake was delicious and thus three stars. But the service was very poor. I was the only person buying food there at that moment. The cashier was busy chatting with a coworker RIGHT in front of me behind the cake section without attending to me for while. Brecotea is an amazing place. As soon as you walk in the door you are greeted with beautiful decor and a wonderful smell of tea and pastries. The staff is super nice. It's a wonderful, relaxing atmosphere. The space is huge and there is plenty of room for you to bring a friend and still social distance. My favorite drinks are the fruit drinks. The Bona teas are amazing as well but I love the fresh fruit that they put in the fruit drinks. The pastry counter is something amazing. If you are going there to relax and catch up with some friends, you will see that they are baking the pastries right there in the baking studio. Everything is very fresh. The quality of the pastries as well as the savory pastries is top-notch. The sweet pastries are not like American pastries. They are not as sweet so you don't feel like you are overdoing it on the sugar. If you are concerned about the safety of being inside no worries, there's also outdoor seating. However there is still plenty of space inside for everyone to physically distance. If you are looking for a quaint, classy place to grab a drink and a pastry with a friend, this is the place to come. The atmosphere is nice and quiet and intimate as well. Order anything on the menu. You can't go wrong. read more

I really loved this place before they started screwing up every order. Be very specific on what you are ordering and watch them make it and make sure they are charging you the right amount. They go through so many employees and it is either because they don't pay their help or management isn't good to work for. Either way, it is something that can be remedied if management was smarter. Yesterday around 8pm, I saw a barista dropping a drink she made for a customer. She quickly cleaned it up using a mop and a bucket WITHOUT GLOVES. Afterwards she did NOT wash her hands and proceeded to make the drinks. I frequent Brecotea quite often and like it. I would've given it more stars but sanitation is the key. Delicious bread but constantly inconsistent. There isn't always enough selection to choose from and they are never ready the first 1-2 hours of opening. They said there are "sweet spots" of time of when to come but it varies... As a bakery, I'd expect there always to be enough inventory, especially at opening. read more

Basically there's no service. We arrived on early morning. When we stepped in, there were only two customers there. No one greet us. There's no direction either. We had to pick the breads on our own. The worse part is it took us almost 20minutes to check out (remember only few customers were there). All the staffs were very poorly trained, not helped at all. The breads are bland, lack of flavor.
