First and foremost, thank you for being in San Jose. This really is a much needed place for controlled chaos. With the stress of everything this past year, my party and I definitely found this place therapeutic. By all means, come prepared for the mess you'll make. No soft sandals or flimsy shoes that will easy get punctured. Long sleeves and pants preferred. Can't tell you enough how many glass shards I felt flying in front, above and behind me. They do provide a face shield and gloves during your session. They also provide a huge speaker in the room to connect via Bluetooth -- major plus. Breaking things while listening to a bomb playlist hoooo 10/10. My party and I did the $100 "Nothing But Glass" which comes with a crate of 50 glass bottles. We ran through it real fast so we went ahead and ordered a second crate. Nothing like being able to experiment all the ways to break glass bottles B) Last but not least, the front desk/host Chris is awesome. Super friendly, responsive, and works swiftly to get you started asap. He wore a mask at all times during our stay as well as our party. LOCATION look for the white one story building with blue trim. There is some parking in front with angled spots otherwise you'll have to park on the street in downtown San Jose Area. There's a middle door where you walk into the office building. The suite 125 is at the end of the hallway. Small office, but not much room needed to check in and break stuff in. WHAT it is. You sign a waiver on a phone electronically. Be sure to wear long sleeves and long pants and close toed shoes. I made sure to put my hair up. They provide safety goggles and face protectors. Not much space to put stuff so don't bring a lot of personal belongings, but you are able to keep them with you in the room. You get baseball bats and sledge hammers to break stuff. You can use your phone to take photos and videos. Esteban will ask at the end if you want a photo. He records the session which you can buy at the end for $15 if I remember right. I've seen other reviews talk about a recycling fee, but I didn't get asked to pay any such fee. STUFF beer bottles and old electronics like servers and speakers. MUSIC you're welcome to use your phone to blast your music through the speakers. The lights are turned down and black lit and change according to the music. Rock or what I call "men yelling" music is the most fitting for breaking stuff. GENERAL yes I recommend doing this at least once! It's fun and funny especially if you go with someone else. 2.5 really. Before you go make sure you have the protective gear you want. You get eye protection and gloves. We asked for a face mask and got a medical mask. We did come early and room was full of previous ragers. Fair, but we would have waited until it was cleaned. My friend ended up with a cut on her face. If you don't book online he adds a 25$ charge. We couldn't because we booked same day and the website doesn't allow you to do that. Didn't know until we checked out. I've been to another rage room and we got coveralls, glasses, face shields and gloves. This cost us 225$ for 1/2 hour for two crates of beer bottles a speaker and 3 small appliances. It was fine, but a lot of money and not a lot of basic safety. We still managed to have fun and we were able to use our own playlist which was cool. read more

AWESOME experience! I had the 20 minute session and it was the perfect amount of time for this first time around. The employee that greeted us was on the phone with a last minute Karen, but once he was free, he got down to the business of getting me ready for my first Smash Therapy session. We checked in and were shown to our demolition room. Once the lights were lowered and I got my 80's Thrash Metal soundtrack going, it was ON! I put the name of a recent ex Pres on one item, and reduced it to a pile of pieces no longer identifiable. I moved on to a monitor, a boombox and then finally a case of beer bottles! I let each member of my family throw a beer bottle at the end, and we have decided we MUST come back and let everyone play this time! It was one of the best Christmas Presents EVER! My one suggestion is perhaps a bit more light in the rooms so photos and videos are easier to shoot OR.... offer a video of the session filmed by Break Stuff. They give you gloves and goggles and 30 minutes to smash stuff. You can also bring your own things to smash. They provide 1 sledgehammer and a few crowbars. Iv been a Bay Area Native my entire life, and just when I though I've done it all, I find Break Stuff! I googled it one day and was shocked a place like this even existed!! I think we can all agree life is a Bitch right now, so i figured beating the crap out of some things would be super therapeutic, little did I know it was also be a freakin BLAST!! Me and my sister went with the "all you can break package" and man was it worth it. Esteban was amazing and super sweet, he kept funneling bottles in the room for us. I went on a Wednesday ( normally closed) Esteban opened for us to blow off some steam and even let me bring my own batt! The room is a perfect size, rugged with different color lights and a strobe light. He dosent servalence the room, so feel free to go Ape S***! I got to blast my own music on his Bluetooth speaker he provides for you. After 30 min or solid distruction, I felt AMAZING! I got so much annoyance and aggression out, so cathartic lol you deff need to get a package with electronics... those were my favorite! Crazy stronger than they look lol. We were in there for about 30-40 min and it's more than enough. You exert so much energy and strength, Your more then done at the end. Our host, Jerome, was very kind and welcoming, and we had a blast overall. Recs: - Make a music playlist. It really set the mood! - Bring ear plugs. It was very loud. Being offered hearing protection ear muffs would be nice. My ears are still ringing some after ~18hrs. - It was very hot. Think of protecting your whole self while staying as cool as possible. - Potentially opt for the B.Y.O.B. package and just collect glass, ceramics and other easily breakable things leading up if you aren't looking for an intense workout. I found the electronics a lot less satisfying because they were sooo hard to break, and the sledge hammer and crow bars were so high impact. I'm definitely a bit sore today! To me, it was most fun, and less sweaty, to just throw the bottles on the ground/wall or have someone throw them in the air while taking turns hitting them with the baseball bat (Jerome recommended this and it was really fun), but they were gone too soon. -Check yourself thoroughly after for shards of things. My wife and i actually showed up very early due to scheduling/traffic issues. The owner didn't seem to mind at all, in fact he immediately got to cleaning up and had us start over 20 minutes early just because we had shown up early when he didn't have to do any of that. He was incredibly polite, fun to talk to, set us up with our room and gave us just enough rules that we didn't hurt ourselves but not so much that we couldn't have fun. As i said before, this was one of the best experiences of my life. This review is based off of a text conversation I had with someone from the business who I believe goes by Esteban Holloway. Long story short, I booked the wrong day and tried to book for the next day with two hours in advance, which was immediately cancelled by Esteban. I had also just purchased a new phone a few days prior to booking that had a temporary phone number attached which I didn't know about so their confirmation texts didn't come thru at their desired time, however I responded as soon as I got them. Basically the staff is rude and acted like no one was going to come in and take the spot I originally had booked. Please see the attached messages. I was charged $25 extra after my session was over for a "booking fee"? on top of my $100 which was annoying. got into the room no flat surfaces to put bottles on. I was given a 100lb sledge hammer that was way to heavy to swing for me 240 6' let alone my 11yo kid no bats were visible just small ass crow bars .it was quick and easy not worth the cost in my opinion over hyped read more

This is the best place to let your stress go out! My group was 10 minutes late and it went all fine. There is a Bluetooth that we can connect to play any music. We were given two pairs of gloves and one face covering for each person. Although we booked for 50 bottles, we were actually given 60 bottles and used all our imagination to break the bottles. Came here for a birthday celebration, it was literally the best group activity for us! A few tips: 1 . Definitely make your own playlist to play on the speaker they have in the room. 2 . I had a little difficulty contacting someone about bringing an extra person (reservations have 5 people max), but they were very flexible and allowed the 6th person. I can see why it's 5 max.
