I can only judge them on their banana bread. I visited them during the Off Market event in Summit Park. The gentleman running the booth was very informative and I enjoyed our conversation as he spoke in detail about the products. I only purchased their banana bread and wow, that was excellent quality. The loaf was not dry, no nuts, no chunky bits of banana. Just a nice soft loaf. If I see them again, I'll definitely buy more of just the banana bread. It was 13$ for the loaf and although I was hesitant, it was completely worth it. read more

I came here hoping to help heal my friend who was sick. My homie has healed since but I keep coming here because I can't go back to store bought bread and don't have time to make my own. Bottom line, I trust the ingredients that I buy here, so I keep coming back. read more

If you're looking for a go-to bread bakery in Cincy - look no further than Breadsmith! Located in the heart of Hyde Park, Breadsmith has a wide range of loaves and you can get truly any variety you'd want here. They have breads that they offer daily, and others than only are available on certain days of the week. My personal favorites here are the brioche loaf and the sourdough - but you really can't go wrong with anything. The people are always super kind and it smells incredible once you open the door. It isn't a super large bakery and it's more of a get in and get out type of establishment - but the few minutes in here are always a weekly highlight. read more

Breadsmith is a great option for a local bread store in Hyde Park. They rotate what is offered each day or every few days. I love the salted dark rye bread. What I really love about this place is they keep a refrigerator of pizza dough. I recently got a pizza oven, and while I enjoy the process of making my own dough, it's awesome to have this resource that I know I can get quality pizza dough if I don't want the take the time for scratch dough. If you're looking for top quality bread, try Breadsmith. read more

Many times I have got bread from this wonderful little shop located in Hyde Park. So many ways I want to enjoy this place but the quality seems to of dropped off. I got a stylish French bread that was a fancy twist. Unfortunately the quality was poor and the bread was extremely tough and hard. Maybe my choice of bread was the issue. Maybe you will have better luck. read more

I'm seriously in love with this place. The bread is always FANTASTIC, affordable, and exciting! They introduce new breads relatively frequently and none have disappointed me so far. Last week I discovered they have PIE bread now. PIE BREAD!! The strawberry pie bread blew my mind. My usual favorites are the country buttertop and the rosemary multigrain (wednesdays only I believe). I just can't say enough good things! Would be very interested in vegan options, not positive if they have any, but would love it if they did! Would invite a lot of new customers and excite some current ones. Their bread is usually good for 6-7 days when kept in a breadbox. read more

Sadly, Breadsmith at Hyde Park Square is no longer the decent neighborhood bakery they once were. They have gone "Corporate". They ship the majority of their products out to other retail stores, and let the walk-in customer "choose" from whatever is left over, which, even at 8 am, is so spare, it isn't worth your trip. Of course, this is because they shipped most of their stuff out at 7am or earlier. You can always "call ahead" and try to get your favorite item held for you, but even that is "hit or miss". I recall past delights of getting up early and going in and seeing the beautiful full shelves of desert breads, pastries and artisanal breads. Not any more. read more

If you are looking for fresh bread of the utmost quality and taste, you have found your place! The breadsmith in Hyde park offers a huge variety and we never leave there unhappy. Be sure to call ahead if you want something special because things seem to go quick! The other day we ordered via call ahead and got a salted rye, which was great! We also sometimes get our hotdog and hamburger buns there for summer grill outs. As usual we went with the intentions of just getting the rye and came out with more... ended up with a few muffins as well which were huge and great. This place is perfect for the grab and go breakfast or to stock the pantry for the week. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

The bread, muffins and scones are incredible! We couldn't stop eating the pretzel loaf!

A few months ago I was at The Echo and had delicious multi grain rosemary toast. Our favorite waitress told us it came from Breadsmith. I came searching for that bread. It is only available on Wednesday, I was there on Monday. I came back the next Wednesday. I was overwhelmed by the different types of bread they offered. Some are available every day but each day also has a few specialty breads. Multi grain was as good as I remember. I'm already anticipating going back for cinnamon raisin walnut! read more

The bread that Breadsmith makes is really great, but the delivery guy Paul that always comes to my business is very rude. He always seems like he is in a ridiculous hurry and has better things to do, and any time we try to interact with him and we are met with shortness at best and downright rudeness at worst. Our establishment is considering going with a different bread supplier unless Paul's professional conduct is adjusted. read more

Stumbled upon this bakery when I drove through Hyde Park and I am so glad I stopped by. At 3pm in the afternoon, the smell of fresh baked goods was so inviting. They had many off the shelf items to choose from. We tasted their pretzel bread roll and cinnamon claw. The pretzel bun was light and yet had the nice salty pretzel exterior and the cinnamon claw was also so fresh and the cinnamon sugar exterior had the perfect amount of sweetness. I will be back again for sure! read more

Delicious! Fantastic, high quality bread. Tastes like homemade! Knowledgeable staff that care about their product and people.

If you are looking for a good variety of artisanal bread, stop by here. You can't beat the consistency and the quality, with NO additives or preservatives!! Plus, taking a look at that amazing imported Italian oven is quite impressive and also pretty cool to watch the bakers in action. Also don't forget about the sweets, which are just as important to get while making a visit. Especially the scones, dessert breads and the pie breads are quickly addictive. I have tried multiple types of breads and my favorites are the sourdough, for sure, and the sauerkraut rye worked great for a reuben. Can't wait to try the Rosemary Garlic Ciabatta for some sandwich ideas, as well as the Raisin Cinnamon Walnut for some breakfast toast or even using it for a bread pudding, yum! The other great thing is if you are not looking for a whole loaf they have many choices of rolls of majority if not all of their breads they baked off that day. There is no seating room, but there is a little open room off to the side were you can just stand and watch the bakers at work. You can also get a cup of coffee, which is especially good on colds days like today. One thing to make sure of, is the parking lot next to the building is NOT AVAILABLE; it is a private lot for an office in the area and people have been towed. read more

I was walking through Hyde Park square, when I noticed a bread store. How have I never seen this place before?? It's hidden right behind Lululemon, off of the square about a half block. Of course, you know me, I had to stop to check it out! They had samples of a few of their breads out to try, and they were very yummy. The people working there were helpful and friendly as well. I was looking at their options, and spotted the garlic cobblestone bread, and I knew I had to have it. It's like a garlic parmesan pull apart bread. I heated it up in the oven that night for dinner at 325 for like 15 minutes, and it was just phenomenal. I should have gotten two! I also got a few of their breakfast pastries, including the almond croissant. The breakfast pastries were good, but not as great as the garlic cobblestone. For the cobblestone and two pastries, I paid $10. That's kind of pricey, so I don't think I'll be back here every week for bread, but this is definitely a stop if you are having guests over or want something special. FYI, this is a chain bread maker, so it's not local, but they make everything fresh here in Cincy, so I'm ok with it. I'll be back! read more

Breadsmith - This beautiful garlic cobblestone bread was only $6. Can't wait to heat this up in the oven for dinner tonight! - Bakeries Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

Superb breads and pastries, albeit it is a bit unpredictable what you will find there on a given day, especially later in the day I have never had *anything* here that wasn't at least very good, and most things I have had have been flat out excellent, whether it is a savory bread item or a sweet pastry, scone, or croissant. Really, really good. They usually have 1-2 different samples out on the counter, usually a bread with some butter plus some dessert/sweets type item, so you can try before you buy One thing I noticed on todays visit that I hadn't before - they have bagged pizza dough, ready to roll out and top as you please. You can find this right by the entrance They have their own parking lot (a BIG plus for this area in particular), a few tables inside, and service is friendly and accommodating. Prices are fairly reasonable for the quality involved. I think they get overlooked a bit because they are on a side street just off Hyde Park Square - out of sight, out of mind. This place deserves to be getting a ton more business than they appear to be getting, and this is why I am including them in my list of Dining Underdogs of Cincinnati Strongly Recommended read more

A couple of months ago a new artisan bread baker opened in Hyde Park Square, Breadsmith. This is really close to the spot where Blue Oven operates during the summer months, attracting large crowds as part of the Hyde Park Farmers Market. The demand is certainly there for a brick and mortar shop to be successful and with a great product I think it will. Each loaf from Breadsmith is made from scratch daily using only the finest ingredients and then hearth baked. Any bread that does not sell that day is then donated to local food banks and soup kitchens. Bread is available in loaves and rolls, which are a good way to sample a variety of flavors. The first bread I tried was the rosemary garlic ciabatta, and I was in love immediately. I also sampled a very good sourdough as well as honey wheat. The staff at Breadsmith took the time to profile each of the breads available that day and make suggestions along the way. I also learned that pizza dough, hamburger and hot dog buns, as well as a variety of sweets are all available. Daily breads like whole wheat, rustic italian, and french peasant range from $3.95 to $5.25 per loaf. The bread is made without preservatives and should stay fresh for a few days or it can be frozen. I'm glad to have such a great shop located so close to home. read more

Breadsmith is a great bakery tucked away in the middle of Hyde Park. The bakery is locally owned and staffed with attentive friendly employees. The store itself serves a vast amount of different baked goods in addition to jams and coffee. The bakery offers a ton of great treats my favorite of which is the croissant. This comes in three varieties: chocolate, almond, or plain. I am also a huge fan of the cranberry oatmeal walnut cookies which are a must try for any oatmeal raisin lover. The sweets aren't the only thing Breadsmith has to offer. Their sliced bread is also delicious. Try the sourdough for a low carb alternative to bread or one of the more exotic options such as the potato cheddar chive which pairs eloquently with a homemade egg salad. They also take orders ahead of time for large groups are parties so make sure to give them a call if you know you'll be needing a large order. I also enjoy shopping here because unlike some other bakeries in town they actually DONATE all of their unused bread to various charities each night. Give them a try. You will not be disappointed. read more

I've been working with Ward on making a large batch of cinnamon rolls for an event I'm having this winter, and he has been more than prompt as far as returning phone calls and emails, he has a pleasant disposition, not once have I felt like I was putting them out, the prices are very reasonable, not to mention they have a delicious product! It has been a pleasure working with the Breadsmith and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone!! Their Cinnamon rolls are the right amount of doughiness with a frosting that is sweet but not overpowering. I'd also recommend the garlic bread. Mmmm read more

Thanks for great bread. All should visit this place.

My son and I dropped in here on a whim. I'm glad we did. The baker was incredibly nice and attentive. The store is very cute with a clean, open feeling allowing you to see back into the baking kitchen. We came late in the day so there were not many large loafs to choose from. That was ok though since we were looking for a sweet treat. My son had a cookie and I had a blueberry scone. Both were very tasty and a great value. The scone was huge! I will return here again. read more

Update: ALMOND POPPYSEED MUFFIN. Go go go! It looks like a lemon poppyseed but it's infinitely better and HUGE. Flavor is surprisingly complex for a muffin. I swear I could taste some savoriness in it (almost like cheese?). It could be the magical combination of almond + poppyseed. I was going to give this muffin to my roommate, but ended up eating half of it while driving to his office. My hand just could not leave that muffin alone. Went digging into that bag at every stop light. The beer bread is pretty money too. read more

Excellent bread and coffee. Perfect place to stop on a Weekend morning to start your day. From the hearty Rustic Italian and French Peasant to the sweet and decadent Cinnamon Cobblestone and Apple Pie Bread they have most everything a bread lover could want. The perfect addition to any bread they carry is the Seven Hills coffee they serve. As an update to Dane's review earlier, they do now offer seating at the bar by the window, so bring a few friends to split an order of scones or muffins and start your day off right. Don't forget to grab a loaf on the way out for lunch or dinner, as you can't get better bread anywhere else in town. read more

I am generally a fan of Breadsmith and stopped by on a Tuesday at 4:30 pm to pick up a necessary ingredient for dinner. The store was closed with a sign on the door that it was sold out. Ugh bread. Bread, you are every so delicious and fluffy and the most perfect vehicle for butter, jams, spreads, etc. But you are also so fattening. You enjoy attacking my body and offering me little to no nutrition value unless you're whole wheat. I was doing well staying away from you. I thought about you a lot, and occasionally we'd have our sourdough rendevous, but I could go a few hours, maybe even a day without seeing you. So you did what you could to get me. You opened this wonderful little bakery off of Hyde Park Square to get me to come crawling back. Every single bread you could possibly think of is here, along with scones (maple walnut holla!!!!!!!), cinnamon rolls, chocolate croissants, just ugh. I was doing so well without you. And then this lovely little shop decided to freshly bake challah on fridays so I can make some dank french toast bread pudding. (Yes it's an Ina recipe. #hailina) The scones are melt in your mouth, the freshly baked rye is perfect for chicken sandwiches and CAN WE JUST TALK ABOUT POTATO CHEDDAR CHIVE BREAD. CAN WE JUST TALK ABOUT HOW THEY MADE AU GRATIN POTATOES FLUFFY AND BEAUTIFUL. I have eaten this bread with some butter and some netflix. Netflix and chill indeed. The people are passionate about what they do, which makes me even happier. Passionate people are cool to begin with, but passion about making bread? Hell yeah! Please, visit Breadsmith. As deciving as bread can be to me, I will always come back assuming bakeries like this are around. read more

What an awesome bread bakery! There is so much to choose from, and it all looks and smells like something you MUST buy. The staff steered me towards a sturdy rosemary ciabatta to accompany my pinto bean hummus at a party. They were so friendly and easy to chat with. Not only is this a great bakery, it's a fun place to hangout. My only concern is that the location isn't ideal. This is my neighborhood, and the store was open a couple months before I even noticed it. Let's help Breadsmith over that hurdle by seeking the store out and buying lots of bread! read more

I have to admit that the bread is good. But if you are hankering for a scone, go elsewhere. 2nd time in a row, today, the outside is crispy but the inside is undercooked dough. Yuck. Threw away. When I have to dumpster a scone, not a good sign. read more

I was very impressed with the selection, taste, and prices of the products at this little bakery! My husband and I have tried their scones many times and they are delicious, GIANT, and only 2 bucks. I'm sure with all the 5 star reviews i'll give them another try but i usually judge a bakery on their baguette and what i got from their booth on fountain square was no artisan baguette, just long white bread. No crusty crust no airy holes just eh. I'll stick with my Blue oven and Allez. read more

They conveniently have premade pizza dough in their fridge - white or wheat. It's extremely delicious and easy to use at home at a reasonable price. One ball ($2.95) is a pound and makes a 12-14 inch pizza. All you need to do is let it come to room temperature, stretch it out, add toppings, and bake for 15-25 minutes. Definitely get this instead of the ones in grocery stores! When I went, they only had white but you could call them to check beforehand. read more

We walked here yesterday to check the place out. The person working there was very friendly and gave us samples of any bread that we requested. We tasted the raisin cinnamon walnut and it was delicious. We left with a loaf and had a few pieces this morning for breakfast. I put raspberry jam on one of my pieces and butter on the other. It was incredible. I could have eaten the whole loaf! Glad to have this shop so close by! We also got a cup of coffee and they have the local Seven Hills coffee which was very smooth. Awesome addition to Hyde Park Square! read more

The scent greets you when you are a block away and they often have a punny sign outdoors to greet you. We only but bread here; our diverse household prefers sourdough ( hearty and tasty), whole wheat seeded (brown, hearty and especially good topped with cheese), and the girls prefer a light sandwich bread like country butter top. There is a weekly menu so we go several times a week and weekends they have specialty dessert breads. We prefer the BonBonnerie for pastries but the breads and friendly service here are not to get beat. read more
