LOVE THIS! My favorites are the sandwich rolls and cinnamon raisin sourdough -- gluten-free, gum-free, rice-free, with arrowroot and minimal organic, non-GMO ingredients. There's quite a love story behind the making of this bread and business. You get a glimpse of it with every bite. Toasting is necessary. I made the mistake of eating the bread straight from the bag and regretted that I had bought very expensive sawdust. I tried different toasting times to see how the texture and taste evolved and what a revelation! I prefer lightly toasting the sandwich rolls intact so that the center remains slightly cool to the touch. Over-toasting makes the rolls mushy on the inside and muddles the flavors. I then dip in olive oil. Srsly hvnly. Mother's Market, my closest option in Socal, carries an excellent selection. read more

I was really excited to try this bread after hearing so many people rave about it, but honestly, I am so disappointed. I'm not sure what kind of GF bread some people are used to, but this just was not good. That's an understatement! The loaf size is tiny and very dense. Every time I sliced it, my knife ended up coated in gummy residue, which makes me think it was undercooked and possibly under-proofed. It also absolutely requires toasting. Eating it straight from the bag is not possible. The cinnamon raisin bread had maybe 1-2 raisins per slice. What frustrates me most is that I spent $85 for 6 loaves (including shipping), and I ended up throwing every single one away. Such a waste and such a disappointment. For now, I'll be sticking with Carbonaut GF bread until I finally find a gluten-free loaf that actually delivers on texture and flavor. This bread is a Godsend for those observing a GF diet. The angels started singing when I took my first bite and I almost cried (a happy cry). Oh how I'd missed sourdough until discovering this brand! Yes, it must be toasted and yes, it's smaller than regular bread, but that's true for all GF breads. It has a fabulous sourness that even sourdoughs with gluten don't always achieve. The highlight of my Thanksgiving break thus far - outside of some epic hula-hooping at Hippie Hill was Bread Srsly's moist bread loaves. If you have a gluten issue - don't settle for that lackluster bread stuff you find at most grocery stores that are full of bizarre ingredients and often come frozen. Yuck. Don't do it. Just go for Bread Srsly and you will be blown away by the local and organic ingredients which go into each batch of bread that Sadie makes. Her creativity when it comes to ingredients is dazzling and she's committed to making sure that she connects with awesome local farmers to source many of her ingredients. Bread Srsly is seriously good. But note: this location isn't actually a storefront! You have to buy their bread at local Whole Foods or health food store. I first found Bread Srsly many years ago, and to this day, it's the best gluten free bread I've ever had. Their sourdough is out of this world, and although my memory of my gluten-eating days is a little hazy, I'm pretty sure this bread tastes just like the real deal. It's my favorite for making avocado toast, dipping in soups, and so so much more. The only bummer? Bread Srsly is only sold locally. Wonderful gluten-free sourdough! I was getting frustrated with the GF options for bread, nothing was perfect. Mariposa has that weird bean taste, some of the Udi's have weird texture. I just wanted normal bread! I saw this bread at Rainbow market and passed it by for weeks because it was $9 a loaf which seemed way too expensive, but now I get it. Gf sourdough bread????! Every part of my heart feels warm with love. I got my first loaf this weekend from a supermarket in SF. I was skeptical to spend almost $11 for a small loaf of bread, but given that I haven't had sourdough in almost 2years, I thought I would give it a try. Not sure if the price is completely right for it, but I did enjoy it. It doesn't taste exactly like the sourdough I grew up with, but it's pretty damn close. It really is a great alternative to not eating any sourdough at all. I plan on buying this again next time I come home to California with more recipes in mind so I can better utilize it. I think I just got excited to buy it, that I didn't have soups or deli meats to do anything with the bread. First discovered this bread at the GFAF expo, and absolutely loved it. But just this weekend I was finally able to pick up some at the Bi-Rite Market in San Francisco. Pros: Gluten Free! and Vegan! Perfect for my allergies! Tastes like sourdough it really is amazing! Cons: Not convenient to get at all :/ I live in the east bay, and there are no pick up locations even relatively close to me, and no delivery to Dublin. I would give it 5 stars it there was a better way for me to be able to get some. I had the bread the first time with some split pea soup! It was so tasty! I stumbled upon this bread in Truckee CA. I was at my favorite organic/ health food store(only one there) and found this bread. It was not as cheap as Udis but though I'd try it. I must say it was very good and had that great sourdough taste. It toasts up very good and add cream cheese and smoked salmon what a treat! I wish it was sliced that's my one complaint! The good thing is they refunded my money, the bad thing is they removed my review. They're only allowing 5 star reviews on their website. The reviews are part of the reason I had no idea it tasted so bad and was fermented. The bread is made with fermented dough including yeast, but that is not in the ingredients. The mold and yeast warning isn't where it should be. Allergy warnings are always under ingredients. And the bread tastes like vinegar or old milk. This is a review for the sourdough loaf. This week, I went into Earthbeam to try and figure out some sort of stuffing and dinner rolls for thanksgiving. Admittedly I don't eat really any baked goods of any kind, I didn't like them much before I figured out my body wasn't into them either. Except sourdough. Not just any sourdough, though, because if it comes in a plastic bag, it's shit. But, I could easily eat an entire freshly baked loaf of real, crunchy outside, chewy inside sourdough. Something I haven't done for years. :( Spotting the Bread Srsly brown paper bag on the refrigerated shelf, I let out an audible gasp, snatched up the loaf, marched to the register and demanded to know "is this any good!?" Cashier replied, "it's delicious" and I threatened "DON'T TOY WITH ME, LADY" She assured me it was best sliced up and toasted, and worth every cent of its cost. The minute I got home that night I sliced off two pieces for the toaster and fried up two over easy eggs. Next, I stood in the kitchen jamming warm sourdough eggy toastiness in my face like an animal. My partner claims I growled when he approached. It's now Friday and I have eaten eggs and sourdough toast for breakfast and dinner every day. I sought out another loaf at the gluten free grocery today for croutons for my stuffing, and I will probably need at least one more loaf before Tday for my insatiable sourdough cravings I've been suppressing all these years. I got a loaf of the sourdough bread at a farmer's market on a recent trip to SF after sampling some of the delicious rose-apple muffins. I was returning to Minneapolis the very next day, where one of my friends was just diagnosed celiac and has been having a frustrating time finding gluten-free products that she is excited about. I'm not gluten-free, so I can't really speak to Bread SRSLY's products as compared to other GF foods on the market. What I can speak to is the fact that I love to eat food that is delicious, healthy, and made lovingly by hand by an independent producer. And Bread SRSLY provides me with exactly that. This business is run by a single person, and I think she does a pretty darn amazing job as a sole proprietor and producer. I love chatting with her at the Mission Community Market every week about her products and her business. Coming to the market also gives the customer a chance to sample many of the products before buying them, so you can be sure that you'll like what you buy. One week at the market she told me that one of her batches of bread hadn't turned out quite as expected so she wasn't selling it. I like this transparency, and it proved to me that she has high standards for her product and won't sell something that isn't up to snuff. Now I've seen her stuff in Bi-Rite, so if it's good enough for them, it's more than good enough for me! Her food is tasty, and she's a hard-working gal who makes every effort to get to know her customers and understand them. What more could you ask for?! read more

I've tried every gf vegan bread out there (available to me in South Florida) and nothing compares to Bread Srsly!!! Not only was shipping extremely reasonable, but it was delivered on time AND fresh. Soft, chewy, just moist enough- MMMM! I've also tried the muffins and they were yummy! I'm not gluten-free, but I can imagine it's very hard to find good bread if you are. I discovered Bread SRSLY while vacationing in San Francisco this summer. My first bite was a WOW, I could eat the entire loaf. I almost did because I discovered I can order the rolls and bread and have them delivered home in Kalamazoo. Even if someone is not gluten free they will love this bread. The bread needs to be refrigerated for a day before slicing and put in the freezer. It freezes well. The dinner rolls make the best garlic bread ever. Dinner guest who are not GF love them. I absolutely love Bread Srsly! I first ordered a loaf from Sadie back in 2011. I picked it up at her house (we lived in the same neighborhood) and she was so friendly!! Since that day I fell in love with all of her delicious treats! I've purchased her bread at the Haight Street Market, Bi-Rite, Rainbow, and through Good Eggs. Everything is amazing!! I love her sourdough, muffins, cookies, pie, etc. I now live in Marin and I wish I that her loafs were available at more grocery stores or farmers markets. I would also love it if she taught some baking classes. I try and bake gluten-free, but nothing ever comes out as good as when Sadie makes it! I highly recommend trying Bread Srsly. Fans of this establishment be warned I just can't be nice after giving these guys 4 chances and being sorely disappointed. The scone this morning... I just could not leave this one alone I am sorry but if you are to improve you need to hear this. Every single item minus one has been either under-baked, texturaly gross, or plain bad-tasting. I am writing this review as I try to stomach the raspberry scone which I just tossed the last of...I really tried to give you a chance Bread SRSLY but I think someone needs to go to culinary school or actually learn the fundamentals of baking. I learned about Bread SRSLY through my boyfriend who has been trying to find me more gluten free foods and I have now sampled the following from Bread Srsly: Mini berry pie/tart Sourdough Herb bread Raspberry scone Let's start with first impressions: Sourdough, I was excited as it's a bread I miss dearly being GF. Sad to say my loaf was very under-baked... tough outer crust with GOOEY, not soft, not moist but GOOEY almost raw center. Just to make this clear after two rounds in the toaster the center of my slices still not fully cooked. Next I tried to just bake my slices in hopes of actually achieving a good piece of toast. After leaving them in the oven at 350 for 30 mins... the outter layer was crisp but the inside still gross and gooey. So much that my awesome bread knife kept sticking to the slices as I vainly tried to make croutons out of what remained. The bread is sitting out in hopes of drying up so I don't waste it and can make bread crumbs out of it. Flavor - I'll give you a thumbs up on this. You achieved a good sourdough flavor. A few days later, Boyfriend brought home the Herb Bread. WAY better. Actually baked all the way through, tasted good, still super tough outer crust but we managed to actually finish this loaf! My main gripes about this one are: 1) Tough crust making it almost dangerous to slice, 2) Falls apart like mad... Every slice no matter how thick I cut it fell apart inside the toaster and I had to retrieve the remains each time. Now lets move to yesterday. We sampled the Berry tart. A few things here, the crust was just gross, tough, chemically tasting The berries were over spiced making them taste mildy soapy Overall the texture of the berries was spot on but the tart as a whole was not good And today... boy was I looking forward to a scone with my morning tea. The scone that pushed me to write this review... The texture was as expected with a scone, so good job there. Flavor...you missed it BIG time on this one. I could NOT finish this it was simply bad. I even tried to force myself to finish it and I just couldn't I was nauseated. The entire thing tasted chemically, salty, and worse... of stale flour. I gagged and just threw away the remainder of the scone after 4 bites. A final note, just a nit pick, don't put 1 bloody raspberry on a scone and call it a raspberry scone! Baking is science, even more so with Gluten Free...do some trouble shooting, taste part of each batch before it goes out, make sure your bread is baked all the way through. read more

I SRSLY love this bread. Trying to bake GF bread myself, it turned out into anything but a bread: one turned into "pizza", other times, it became so dry that it would crumble like Grumble. I SRSLY admire this company for making a bread that is the closest to the realy "yeast" type" bread, as other GF breads have a somewhat chewy-rubber texture (pardon the language here).
