Finally, gluten free bread that actually tastes like bread! I am so happy this place exists - and ship their bread throughout the US!

I SRSLY love this bread. Trying to bake GF bread myself, it turned out into anything but a bread: one turned into "pizza", other times, it became so dry that it would crumble like Grumble. I SRSLY admire this company for making a bread that is the closest to the realy "yeast" type" bread, as other GF breads have a somewhat chewy-rubber texture (pardon the language here). So am a serious fan now. Just wished it was lil cheaper, as I can't buy it often. (Sight). read more

I am about to cry tears of joy. I was diagnosed with celiac disease a little over four years ago. I was able to make peace with not eating my old favorites with gluten. The one thing I could not move past with sourdough bread. It was painful to walk by the fresh bread in the market and I have been on the search for gluten-free sourdough bread since diagnosis. Yesterday I picked up a loaf of the bread and really didn't pay much attention to it, figuring it was going to be like all the others... Just okay. When I pulled it out of the package I knew right away it was different you could smell the sourdough. I cut into it and it was moist and then toasted it like it suggested. While I don't have a gluten or soy allergy, I love the bread and muffins Bread Srsly lovingly and carefully produce weekly. Their coconut bread is simply delicious... Moist and bordering between sweet and savory so you can dress it up as you please or enjoy it as is. Their muffins are wonderful, and I'm addicted to their curry apple (sounds unusual, but it's lip-smacking goodness) and a lovely lemon popper seed one. Srsly so good! I have been GF for many years and NEVER found bread that I thought about twice. Since finding Bread Srsly at Berkeley Bowl and Whole Foods (Walnut Creek), my life has changed. I am so happy to be able to enjoy a slice of srsly delicious toast in the morning! I have tried the white sourdough (not my fave, but still good), the seeded and onion I absolutely love. I even made Thanksgiving stuffing using the onion loaf and recipe on your website and EVERYONE (GF and not) raved about it. Thank you so so so much for making such good bread! Would love to be able to find the rolls and other items too locally, but they are no where to be found yet. I'll keep looking. read more

Best gluten-free, allergen-free bread I have ever had (and I've had many). I have tons of food sensitivities, so I got the bread cubes to make my own stuffing for Thanksgiving. It was a huge success! My family members kept saying it was better than the "regular" stuffing we'd gotten from the store. I've also bought the sourdough loaf and it's fluffy and tasty and just overall delicious. I did not want to try to make my own sourdough bread at this time so i drove 1 hr to get my gluten free bread today and have to say it is SO worth it!....I got 3 loaves of traditional sourdough and have to say its the best i have ever eaten....I have not had sourdough in 15 yrs and this is better than the wheat stuff you get at fishermans wharf imo.. It has very clean ingredients with NO sugar which i cant have....Wish i could sample her muffins but cant..If your in the city some time try her stuff out!.. read more

I've been looking for a great gluten free sourdough. I love sourdough, but wheat and gluten I no longer get along. I just tried my first slices and was stunned and how great the taste of your bread is. You've hit it out of the park. You may or may not know this, but wheat and gluten are a much bigger problem than people realize. The book the Grain Brain by Dr Perlmutter lays it out. I don't have celiac, but I have done much better since dropping wheat and gluten from my diet. read more

If I could give this gal a million star I would! Been gluten free and missing sourdough crispy gooey happiness so much I was about to crack - Udi's gluten free was just not satisfying my soul in that regard! Fear not, Bread Srsly popped up and saved the day! Its so delicious I wanted to eat the loaf like a burrito. Also ordered the zucchini muffins which were wonderful. We have Celiac disease so we're always on the lookout for a new bread. My wife recently discovered Breadsrsly at Staff of Life in Santa Cruz and brought it home. I hadn't had sourdough bread in 15 years and was thrilled to be able to eat it again. My daughter, who had never had sourdough bread, thought it was fantastic. We had it toasted with butter and honey. We plan on trying it next time in the iron skillet as they have pictured on their site. I just ate not one, not two, but three sourdough dinner rolls as a bedtime snack. Because they are that good. I'm not regularly gluten free, but have a sensitive gut, so I've tasted my way through a lot of GF products while figuring out my intolerances. These rolls are one of the only things I'd buy and eat regularly as a non GF consumer. At first glance, they looked underdone or par-baked. Label did say better toasted but didn't note they were par-baked. The texture is perfect. Light, bubbly, somewhat chewy, with a crust but not too heavy or crispy. Very sourdough flavor. I found the one I ate as is had a little bitter aftertaste, but I tend to pick up a lot of bitter or metallic that other people don't. My 7 yo thought they were great and ate two, and my little one (who won't eat fruit skins and "hates this" for 75% of what I serve her) ate half, so I'm going with not bitter to any normal person. I split and toasted one later and it was delish...so delish that I ate two more immediately. Psyched my CSA (farmigo delivery to Palo Alto) has them and will definitely get more. read more

Seriously that good! My only complaint, like most, is that living in the east bay means getting it is a chore, but so worth it!

I am blown away with how amazing this bread tastes every morning when i have it for breakfast! Most delicious gluten free bread i have ever had, becoming gluten free i missed sourdough bread, i researched an egg free gf bread (for a friend) and bam! I was blessed with this nugget. Ah-Mazing! I found this company after doing an online search for gluten free sourdough. I ordered a batch of 3 loaves and after getting over the sticker shock ($42!!!) waited for it to arrive. Seriously, $14 a loaf is pretty ridiculous but I will pay it if my gluten intolerant son likes it. What was even more frustrating however was one of my three loaves clearly had a big bubble in the dough during the baking process which resulted in a hole going through the entirety of our loaf. Considering the loaf is a small, gluten free bread loaf size, it was pretty much worthless to me as you can't make a PB&J sandwich with a small slice of bread with a hole through the middle of it. I emailed this company to let them know that while we thought the bread was good, I was disappointed to see one of the loaves had a hole through the middle. In my mind, giving them the opportunity to comment back, offer a discount on another loaf....something! Unfortunately they said nothing in response to my email which leads me to believe they don't care. Thus my review, a solid 3 stars for decent, super expensive bread with questionable customer service. read more

"love at first bite!!" ...and everyone i've shared a taste of my prized gluten free goodness with has become an immediate convert as well! i somehow went from cringing at $5 loaves of mass produced udi's to a once-in-a-while mariposa treat to being a happy weekly customer of sadie's because her creative combinations get me every time... from pumpernickel and sourdough kale to gingerbread and APPLE CURRY (?!) muffins. i love how she keeps her ingredients local, organic, vegan, and most importantly, recognizable... top it all off with free bike delivery to home and work, and fast, responsive service. thank you, sadie!! it's a privilege to be one of your early customers and i can't wait to see the business keep growing... p.s. bring back that candyman sandwich! :) read more

Just tried their cinnamon rolls for the first time, and they are AMAZING! Super soft, dripping with cinnamon sugar syrup and lightly lemony icing. Not dry and hard and with crumbly, crusty icing like some gluten-free cinnamon rolls I've tried (yes, I'm looking at you, Mariposa). I've enjoyed their sourdough bread and muffins before, but this was absolutely, flat-out tops. read more

I bought gluten-free sourdough bread from Bread Srsly (stocked at the Gluten Free Grocery) when I was visiting the bay area this weekend, and it is simply amazing!! So much so that, now that I'm reaching the end of my loaf, I went online to see if they stocked anything in LA, which sadly, they don't. i am eating and loving this bread right now. like i have every morning since the loaf entered our home four days ago. srsly. this is legitimate bread my friends... not the spongy, crumbly, cardboard imitations that so many other gf "bread" companies try to pass off. and, it's the only sourdough gf bread i've ever seen. i bought it first because it was the only gf bread i could find that didn't add some kind of a sweetener (which should tell you they are trying to compensate for the lack of something)... and it turns out to be my favorite! plus it's local, transported by bike i've heard and from what i can tell, ran by a amazing woman. hurray! read more

Yum. When I went gluten and dairy free, I never thought I'd taste sourdough bread like this again. I am a regular customer now. I love their bicycle delivery system. I've had a few hiccups with the Good Eggs pickup, but their customer service is great and they helped me out with all of those small little things (one time it was my own confusion!). My favorite is the kale sourdough, but I like them all and can't wait to try out more of their sweets and muffins. read more

I heard great things about the gf sourdough. I was Very disappointing, it was baked almost burned on the outside and way to wet and sticky on the inside. Your product needs to be consistent. At $8. A loaf I probably won't go to the trouble to order in advance and pick it up again. I think you'll get the right product in time...good luck read more

SRSLY Bread is the only bread that doesn't give me an allergic reaction. After becoming allergic to the world, due to a pregnancy, I couldn't eat a single piece of bread or anything with gluten or wheat without a massive allergic reaction. This bakery is a true gift.
