I am really committed to try and review all the great food places in downtown Pleasanton as there are many unique cuisines from all over the world that we have available to try out with many of them not being chains so its a great place to try out different foods from around the world. One such spot is Bravazo specializing in Peruvian cuisine, which I am not intimately familiar with so excuse my ignorance as this was my first experience with this type of food but if this is what I can expect I am moving Peru up my list of places to go for a food vacation! As with many of the restaurants in this downtown row of places you the interior is smaller and more intimate but definitely has a bright and clean look to it. Seats a max of 40-44 people inside I believe so it can fill up pretty fast but very comfortable and lively environment and spaced out well so you will not feel cramped which is a plus. Friendly server gave her recommendations as we were new to this place and unfortunately were out of some of the most popular items so get in earlier if you want the full selection. Was especially sad they were out of ALL their empanandas as that was the only item I was familiar with and wanted to try so they must be awesome and I need to try them out next time. You get some complimentary snack of roasted corn kernels while you check out the small but broad ranged menu. These are a great snack and I need a bag of these at home immediately now. Decided on the Aji de Gallina (shredded chicken with yellow pepper sauce) and the Pan Con Asado (tri tip sandwich). Added a fresh Passion Fruit juice which seemed to be 100% pure passion fruit and was delicious. Our dishes were served relatively quickly and we were able to dive into both with great anticipation and our expectations were exceeded immediately! The Aji de Gallina was amazing and I never knew yellow pepper could be the base of such a light but still complex flavor. Paired amazing with with the chicken and potato slices and the garlic rice was perfectly seasoned and not overpowering in anyway. Such an amazing combination of flavors and perfectly balanced so highly recommend this as a "safe" dish for those who are apprehensive on what to tackle as a first Peruvian dish, at least in my opinion. The Pan Con Asado was a meaty boy of a big sandwich and packed to the brim with meat and an assortment of veggies but the meat was the star of the show for sure. The lower bagguette base was crushed on the weight of the meat, has browns veggies and sauce and that was the only thing I wished was a bit more stable in terms of actually being able to lift the sandwich and take a proper bite out of bit as it was, it sort of fell apart under the weight of its own magnificence and I was happy to fork and knife the rest of it. A top tier sandwich but I was sort of searching for more hash browns to compliment the meat. The tri tip was more of a pulled pork type texture though so I was a bit confused but still loved every bite. Prices were fair for the food portions you get and friendly staff round out the this great lunch/brunch spot. I think I love Peruvian food just based on this first experience so far. I cannot wait to get back to this place and try some of the other dishes and hopefully get there early enough to try some Empanadas!

Bravado opened a year ago where Downtown Cafe once was. Inside and outside dining space. Inside has vanilla walls with some pics thereon. Flatscreen in front tuned to golf. Assigned a corner table upon entering. Ordered. Food arriving 10ish minutes later. Offerings (Peruvian): breakfast, starters, cold bar, smash burgers,, chef's special. classics, fusion, desserts... Bites: disappointed fish of day was farm salmon, skipped ceviche, raw fish. -bravado huancaina (14) Peeled boiled potatoes covered with creamy sauce of queso fresco & yellow Peruvian pepper. Had a spicy kick. Garnished with 1/2 boiled egg, tomato halves, greens. Deliz! Pan con Chicharron (20) -street food sandwich with juicy slices of slow cooked pork & roasted sweet potato. Sauced with Bravazo aioli & zesty salsa Criolla. baguette sandwich. More tasty than a Cubano. 5 stars Worthy! Quantity: reasonable.pricey but worth it. Quality: made to order. Artisan ingredients..

We came in on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't very packed. I did see a video on this restaurant through tik tok so I was excited to try. The breakfast hot link burrito was yummy with the melted exterior cheese. I do think the hot link was a great pairing. It was a huge burrito so we had it for another meal. The empanadas were good and packed with flavor but it contained raisins and I'm not too big of a fan of those in savory dishes. Overall everything was great and I'd try other dishes during dinner time.

Excellent experience for a group lunch last week. The atmosphere is nice. Can be a bit loud though (echoing). The servers were nice, and explained what the dishes were. Water was refreshed often. - Orange Spice Tea: this was a unique taste, a bit spicy. - Chicha-Morada: nice refreshing taste - Maracuya-Passion Fruit Juice: also refreshing - Pan con Chicharron: this is one of their signature dishes. Did not disappoint. Crispy but tender pork slices, great aioli. - Beef Empanada: excellent - Causa: looks like a layered silo with the ingredients. Excellent taste. - Fish of the day: didn't ask diner, assume it was also good. It's not the cheapest place, but the food is well made, and tasty. Will definitely come back!

Weeknight visit had easy parking steps away from the entrance. Fairly empty restaurant that day so had choice of seats. Attentive service but that's not hard with fairly empty restaurant. Empanadas had flakiest empanada crust I've had. Missed taking pictures of the pair. Paella was decent. Not one of the ones where you'd get crispy rice but the dish was hot and cooked in serving container as I was warned it was hot. Although the menu mentions chorizo as an ingredient, I realized after that it didn't have any. Bottom layer is the rice with ingredients on top.

Everyone here was really nice despite being overloaded with orders and customers! We ordered the pan con chicharron and fettuccine with lomo saltado. The pan con chicharron was soooo good!! The perfect sandwich with a nice pepper sauce on the side. I loved the sweetness of the yam paired with the savory meat and cut with some tangy red onions!! This really hit the spot and I would come back just for it! Next up, the fettuccine with lomo saltado has a cheese sauce that wasn't too overpowering. I was surprised because I was expecting the cheese flavor to smack you in the face, but no it was subtle, yet rich. The best part of the lomo saltado next to it had to be the tomatoes because how in the world was it grilled so well, soft and bursts with flavor in your mouth?? The meat was cooked to a good medium, wasn't tough, and the sauce pulled it all together. For info purposes, the kitchen was a little backed up so there was a wait. We arrived at 1:10pm and waited for a little over an hour to be seated and order. This was a saturday, so a heads up if you're interested in visiting! I'm not letting this long wait affect my review because I came here solely for the food

First time trying Peruvian food last Saturday for a late lunch and everything was fantastic!! Carlos was our server and was very friendly and had excellent recommendations. We ordered the pan con chicharron, ceviche with red snapper as the fresh fish of the day, and the lomo saltado. For dessert we had the choco-lucuma trifle, per Carlos's recommendation. The pan con chicharron was my favorite! I love the combination of the slow cooked pork paired with the aioli, salsa, and sweet potato inside. The bread was toasted perfectly and was so good! I really love the taste of fresh bread! The hot sauce also really enhanced the flavor! Carlos brought us extra hot sauce because I mentioned how good it was!! (I also bought a bottle of hot sauce at the end of our meal because I loved it so much) The ceviche was fantastic! It is different from the kind of ceviche I am used to but in a good way! I love the added crunch from the corn nuts. The red snapper worked really well in this dish. The corn and sweet potato works surprisingly well in this dish. This was my boyfriend's favorite. Can't go wrong with the ceviche here! The lomo saltado is marinated filet mignon strips served with veggies and garlic rice. It was also very delicious!! I recommend you try the dish with a bite of everything at a time (rice, meat, veggies), trying the meat itself was a bit too much on its own. I forgot to ask if this dish had the option to customize its doneness, since I usually like eating steak medium rare. The meat was cooked medium well, but it was still really tender and delicious! The choco-lucuma trifle tastes like a dulce de leche mousse with chocolate fudge and a layer of a crunchy chocolate at the base. Loved the flavor combination! And it was sweet but not too sweet, which was perfect for us! I like that there is indoor and outdoor seating. They also have coffee and some pastries up front! Definitely recommend this place! Will be dreaming about the food until the next time I come back!!!

We came here after I saw an IG reel featuring this restaurant! All the dishes looked so good and I don't see a lot of Peruvian food in the Trivalley so definitely wanted to give this family ran restaurant a try :) What we ordered (ranked from fav to least): - Pan con chicharron $20 - Smash burger (not on the menu) - Empanada (beef) $7 - Causa $18 & Yuca a la huancaina $14 - Crispy breakfast burrito $20 (didn't try this, packed leftovers home cuz we were too full) We also tried the inka kola beverage which tasted like bubblegum and looked like Mountain Dew haha I would say def order the Pan con Chicharron!! All 3 of us liked it and ranked it as number 1. No wonder it has a star next to it on the menu. And the smash burger took us by surprise.. our server introduced it to us since it's not on the menu. They have an option to order with the fries or hash brown (next time I would get with hashbrowns since the fries aren't as crispy as I normally like to have them) The lomo soltado on the menu sounded really good too, almost ordered that but the $42 price tag made me want to save it for next visit lol

This place is amazing! Food is so good, the Peruvian ceviche with the large corn was so refreshing citrusy and lil spicy. Perfect start to a meal The smash burger is solid. Meaty and cheesy and with Peruvian spices for a lil kick The chicharron sandwich is my favorite! If this is your first time at Bravazo u gotta get it! The choco lucuma was a pleasant dessert. First time having lucuma and it's a nice zesty fruit. Overall this place blew my expectations, highly recommend when craving Peruvian food.

No wait on a Saturday around 11:30am. Parking can be semi-tough because the Pleasanton farmers market is going on in the same area. Service was great and prompt! Easy to dine in or I believe you can just order to-go at the front. For the food, we got the chicharron breakfast sandwich and the breakfast burrito. The breakfast sandwich was great! I thought the meat wasn't super soft but it wasn't overly chewy. It had a slight crust to it. Sweet potato goes very well in the sandwich. The breakfast burrito was good but thought it would be better. Perhaps it was because we got it with chicken sausage, but it was missing something to give it the extra kick or flavor. I believe it'd be better if we added avocado and chicharron to it, but then that'd end up being $4 extra to make the burrito a whopping $24. I'd probably return to try lunch or dinner next time!

Bravazo opened a storefront and its amazing! My other review was for their catering services. So i wanted to try out their restaurant. Its right in downtown pleasanton and there is plenty of parking behind the building. Food was tasty as always! For an appetizer we shared one empanada - which was mistake because we shouldve gotten two! They were crispy and yummy. We had the peruvian ceviche which was super tangy and fresh. This is a must get and is one of my favorites! The lomo saltado was very flavorful and the butter rice was chefs kiss! You can tell the chef puts a lot of thought into all the dishes. Service is kind, friendly and fast! The new restaurant also has outdoor seating for warmer days. I would 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone craving authentic peruvian food!

This is a cute small cafe that recently opened in Downtown Pleasanton. They've refreshed the interior to very simple and clean decor, maybe a bit too plain and on the verge of being bland. Service is adequate. And the menu options are as well. I am perplexed at this restaurant being classified as serving up Peruvian dishes when I find nearly half or more of the menu is typical American fare. My friend I ordered Avocado Toast and a Scramble. There was nothing notable or exceptional. With prices being average and everything else being as it is, I am not sure what may bring me back again.

Amazing service and good to see the owner of floating amongst the tables. It's a great local vibe with friendly conversation and we tried baked goods a dessert and an amazing Peruvian pork sandwich that were all excellent. There seem to be a majority of North American style foods that reflect to the neighborhood. We hope they keep stretching their wings with Latin flare that the locals will learn to love. read more

My husband and I were in the area and stopped by the farmers market. Fortunately, we found a parking spot right in front of Bravazo and it caught my attention right away. We decided to stop in after our market experience. It was not too busy, but that immediately changed after we sat down. Everyone must have had the same idea for lunch. Since it was our first time, we decided on sharing a few items. Here's how it went. - Chanchitas (corn nuts) given as a small snack. Spices and salted well! 8/10 - Beef Empanada - I was concerned that the lunch option did not come with a sauce, but it did not need it! The meat was tender and the ingredients inside just made so much sense. 8/10 - YUCA A La Huancaina was fried yucca balls with a cold cream sauce on it and half a boiled egg. It was tasty but the cold sauce blanketing the yucca was not my favorite. I am used to yucca fries (hot) dipped in the sauce. My husband gave it an 8. I gave it a 7/10. - Bravazo smashburger - The meat was seasoned to perfection. The ingredients inside, especially the sweet potato, were amazing. My husband could not stop eating it. He gave it a 10/10!!! I took a bite and it was delicious! - Pan con Chicharron - The Chicharron was so tender and the sweet potato paired so nicely. The salsa...I could have drank it by itself. It was a 10/10!!! Because it was so busy, and it is a small family owned business, it took 40 minutes to get our main dishes. If I was not in a hurry I would not have cared but I had to be at an appointment and had to get a to-go box. I will say, Cynthia, our waitress, was so kind to let us know ahead of time and she apologized for the long wait. The food was extremely delicious. I would wait again (with no other plans) just to have these amazing dishes! We will definitely be back! read more

So amazing!! Saw a video on tiktok and had to come support a local business!! Food was fresh and cooked to perfection. The Pollo and Lomo Saltado were incredible and so flavorful. Came here a week ago and the food was really delicious. My family and I have been to many other Peruvian restaurants and out of all of them we all agreed the pan con chicharron here is the best we've ever had, same goes for the chicha. Service was excellent, I had two little siblings and of course they are going to want different things at times or take each other food and our waitress helped us with any additional orders or plates for them which we really appreciate. Overall my family and I really enjoyed coming to bravazo and once again appreciated the patience from our waitress and her help with getting additional orders for the kids. We definitely will be coming back in the future! read more

Hands down one of the best Peruvian spots I've been to. The lomo saltado with pasta huancaína and the burrito were SO fresh and tasted super authentic. Everything came out hot, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The customer service was amazing too they kept checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. I'll definitely be coming back. I truly hope this place blows up because it deserves all the hype! read more

We had lunch there on a Sunday and it was terrific. The menu was unique and a nice change of pace. They also had a nice kids menu that my 7 year old enjoyed. The food was excellent! Smash burger, Pan con Chicharron, Aji de Gallina were all big hits at our table. And don't skip the Alfajores or Lucuma ice cream for dessert! Staff were very friendly. We will be back! read more

Exceptional! Ordered the crispy breakfast burrito. Packed with layers of goodness. Cheese crusted flour tortilla stuffed with two eggs, potatoes, spinach, sweet bell peppers, melted cheese, and choice of meat. Served with their yummy hot sauce. Also had the cappuccino. Came for lunch with a Peruvian girlfriend who really knows what's what, and the food was amazing! I could eat their super-fresh tiradito every day. The fish was yellowtail that day, and it could not have been fresher. The leche de tigre was spicy in the perfect way, and very flavorful. We also had the causa (layers of seasoned mashed potatoes, avocado, chicken salad) and that was a great hearty accompaniment to the light and fresh fish. My friend had their special of the day, which was filet mignon on skewers, rice and vegetables, and I haven't had filet this tender at some of the fancy steakhouses I've been to. I wish I had asked what the amazing sauce was that came with it. Must go back and investigate further! The food is authentic, and you can tell the owners have really put their hearts into it. My goodness we found a hidden gem and very close to downtown Pleasanton! This place was recommended by someone who is knowledgeable about Peruvian cuisine so we decided to give it a try and it did not disappointed . The service was excellent! At this moment I'm writing a review for a restaurant which YELP says closes in 15 mins. @ 3pm, yet I was just told by a wait staff after being seated for 15 mins. that the restaurant closes at 2:40 pm. Wow! Amazing flavors. I had the beef empanada and I have to say the crust is the best I ever had. The beef was a bit on the dry side but after dipping it in the yellow pepper sauce it was incredible. That sauce is so good! Also had the Causa which is a layered mashed potato tower added a layer of chicken. Not only is the presentation awesome is was very flavorable. I can't wait to try the Pan con Chicharron and Breakfast Burrito as mentioned in other reviews. Will definitley be back, multiple times, I'm sure. Staff is super friendly also. Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a go. It's a quaint place, we tried almost everything on the breakfast menu and enjoyed it all. The cappuccino is one of the best! We also tried some of their baked goodss and were quite pleased. Highly recommend the breakfast burrito and the Pan con chiccarone. Amazing flavors!! I ordered the Yuca à la huancaina as soon as I got seated because I was so hungry and later on ordered the pan con chicharrón. I was only able to eat the pan con chicharrón because the yuca took way too long unfortunately I had finished eating my sandwich and it still had not been brought out even though I ordered it as starter. I'm still giving 4 stars though because the flavor of the sandwich was SO good it made up for not getting the other item. I am just upset I couldn't try the yuca i was excited for it as well! read more

What an amazing addition to the streets of Pleasanton. I was pleased to meet the owner of this restaurant at one of the farmers markets in Livermore when purchased some spicy sauceat his stand. This is where I learned of a new Peruvian restaurant he was opening in about a month and I quickly asked about the menu. I was pleased but also tried to control my expectations when I heard one of my favorite dishes (Lomo Saltado) was on the menu. Our server was very helpful let it choose where we wanted to sit, outside was nice and cool. We placed our orders and the arrived quickly. Our ceviche was so fresh and flavourful I was had a double take. The star of the show was the Lomo Saltado. The flavours were deep and rich. The beef was cooked to perfection and so tender. This was truly one of the best I have tried. Definitely recommend the food there especially the Lomo Saltado. Great experience over all and I plan to take my family and friends there frequently. Yes!!!! Finally a Peruvian restaurant in the Bay Area that gets the flavors right!! I've searched all over, SF, Walnut Creek, Oakland and just end up being disappointed. The ceviche here has perfectly balanced flavors of citrus, sweetness, heat, and savory. The fish is fresh, yams done just right and the cancha makes a good flavor and texture contrast. I am over the moon that this place has opened up in Pleasanton. The aji gallina has good depth of flavors as well. The staff are friendly and parking is not ridiculous. Food was not as great as I expected, Avosado toast its extremely expensive for what it is. Service wasn't the best either, its slow. Ambiance its meh, nothing to special, looks about the same as when it was the previous places. Overall, I dont think i m coming back, there are prettier places in DT like Elia, Bocado and Locanda. read more
