I was so excited to find Bravazo as a Peruvian, I usually have to drive to SF or the San Mateo area to find good Peruvian food, so having a spot closer to home is such a blessing. I actually found Bravazo through a TikTok video and decided to check it out, and I'm really glad I did. It was our first time visiting and we came during a busy time, so there was a bit of a wait for our food, but it was completely worth it. They start you off with canchita and water, which immediately made it feel authentic and welcoming. I ordered the passion fruit juice, and it was amazing you can tell it was freshly made. I also ordered the ceviche, added calamari, and asked for it spicy (because that's the only way ceviche should be eaten). From the first bite, the flavor was incredible fresh, bold, and perfectly seasoned. This is easily one of my new favorite places for ceviche. My mom ordered the pan con chicharrón, and the meat was super tender and flavorful. It paired perfectly with the hot sauce they gave her. What really stood out to me is that this is a family-owned restaurant, and the father is the chef. You can tell he truly loves what he does the care and passion really come through in the food. Finally got around to trying this brand new spot in Pleasanton for some breakfast! To get straight into it they have a very friendly staff who greets you as soon as you enter. It's a small family ran restaurant that you can tell is patriotic about their culture and can express it through the quality of their food! The interior is small but they made the most of their space available it's very beautiful design inside. Now for the food it was just me so I got a beef empanada and the Lima garden egg scramble The empanada was to put it simply, perfect. It had a boiled egg in there and the beef is so flavorful and tender I had to order some more to go and would even comeback for them alone. The egg scramble was loaded with peppers and mushrooms they were heavy handed with toppings and pretty big portion, the potato's were crispy and really like the sour dough. THE HOT SAUCE IS AMAZING DONT FORGET IT!! I was able to meet the owner/head chef and I can say that Mauricio and Luis are amazing guys with a work ethic that's lost nowadays. Just came back from lunch at Bravazo today. We went at 11:30 AM on a weekday, hoping to beat the rush since the place has been quite the talk of the town recently. We were seated right away, though the paella unfortunately wasn't available on the lunch menu as the kitchen needs quite a bit of prep time to make it from scratch. The ambience was relaxing and welcoming. I felt right at home--it isn't overly fancy or flashy, just clean, well-kept, and comfortable enough to fully enjoy a hearty meal. There is also plenty of outdoor seating that looked really inviting. We ordered the Pan con Chicharrón and Lomo Saltado--both were spectacular, especially for our first time trying Peruvian cuisine. Our meal quickly turned into a fun guessing game over the exact ingredients and spices in each dish. The Pan con Chicharrón was pure comfort food and would be even more satisfying on a chilly day. The accompanying chili sauce was bright and balanced, packing just enough kick without being overwhelming. The Lomo Saltado felt like a definitive Peruvian classic; the depth of flavor was truly unforgettable. From where I grew up, meaty entrees like these would feel filling and "chunky," but these 2 dishes we had at Bravazo felt lively, and lighthearted. Makes me wonder what other Peruvian dishes are like. Last but not least, our waiter, Carlos, was fantastic. He greeted us warmly the moment we walked in and was attentive throughout our entire meal. Carlos was an amazing server. We spent a bit of time chatting and he was very attentive. My husband had 3 tacos and enjoyed them. There was some spicy cause drizzled, so if you don't want a lot of eat, ask about this. I had the tuna sandwich and added avocado and provolone. The menu isn't very big but the food all sounded delicious so I had a hard time deciding but we settled on sharing the Pan Con Chicharron Sandwich, Beef Empanda, and Lomo Saltado. I also ordered the Chicha Morada, a Peruvian purple corn drink that reminded me of fall with the cinnamon flavor. It was really refreshing on a warm day. Of the food options, it was all delicious but the Pan Con Chicharron Sandwich was the standout. The flavors and texture were so good and worked so well together. It was unlike other sandwiches I had before so I'd recommend trying it out! Next time I come here, I would get the burrito or ceviche! Disappointed again, it was served on panini bread, It had mayonnaise on it . The topper of it all it was a crunchy yet fat filled por chop. The empanadas here are fabulous - good quality filling within a puff pastry-like crust. It's even better with the hot sauce. This place should be just as popular as the Press (which is definitely "mid") but it's not as busy even on Main St. My suggestion is to offer more sub-$15 items on the menu for both breakfast and lunch. Add more pastries as well as healthier breakfast items (seasonal chia puddings, smaller egg items) and coffee drinks. Dinner seems a bit pricey. This is an issue not just with Bravazo but all restaurants on Main St. I would pivot to dishes in the $18 - $20 range that is more typical of Peruvian restaurants in the Bay Area. I recently went to a great Peruvian roast chicken spot in LA and it was packed. Food was simple - roast chicken with different sauces as well as a la carte sides. I hope this business succeeds because we need more high quality restaurants on Main St. instead of the typical "mid" and high priced options. read more

I almost don't want to write this review because then everyone else will know how amazing this place is and the wait would be insane. But this place deserves every single star and all the hype. They are now open for dinner and it is now my go to dinner recommendation. Make sure to try the Chicha! Their signature drink made with purple corn and spices. The menu is not extensive so go ahead and get one of everything so you don't miss out. The empanadas are perfectly baked with plenty of filling. And as you know you can't be a great Peruvian spot without good sauce and this sauce is FIRE! It has the perfect amount of spice and kick. So go on and dip to your hearts desire. The paella was AMAZING! I usually can't finish a paella because it's too salty or overly large but this paella was not that. You can eat one by yourself if you're hungry or share with one other person. And you get their signature sauce on the side although the dish is plenty flavorful on its own. Don't forget to save room for dessert! Their alfajores are MOUTHWATERING! and not too sweet! Their shortbread cookie sandwiches with a delicious dulce de leche filling. One is not enough since you won't want to share. They also had an off menu passionfruit dessert that was like a pie in a cup. Tart to perfection. I can't say enough about this place. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The place filled up pretty quickly but there were still plenty of open tables. They are kid friendly and have high chairs and a kids menu.
