Called ahead and was able to get in same day, service was nice and friendly. Upon arrival I noticed they had a seating area with plenty of space and coffee to help yourself nice cool ac. We got a second opinion at Sunland Automotive who told us struts and brakes looked pristine and didn't need to be replaced for some time. When he did reach out, he assured me that he would personally take care of my car. I came in today, and he immediately identified the issue: a loose screw on my suspension. While working on my car, he also noticed a quality issue with the brakes that had been installed, so he took care of that as well. I felt so much more at ease knowing that honest work was being done on my car. I also want to give credit to the team. This is a busy location, and it was clear that there were many cars being worked on. While some things may have been overlooked, the team took full responsibility for the oversight and quickly fixed the issue with my car, which I truly appreciate. read more

So disappointed. My car is a 2011 and the guys at this Brakes Plus have looked after it from the beginning. Management of this shop has changed 3 times in those intervening years. Each time I saw a new manager, I worried that work quality would change. It never did, until now. I took my car in for an oil change and fluid check. I also asked them to check my A/C, see whether my tires needed to be rotated, and add windshield wiper fluid. They told me my A/C was blowing at 73%, that my tires were fine, and that they had filled the wiper fluid reservoir. They also worked up estimates for replacing my hoses and performing A/C service. Here is where the trouble began. The oil change seems to have been completed. But, the tech who was working on my car was told he could leave as soon as my car was done. From that point, nothing more happened to the car. The 73% figure is a lie. My A/C blows hot. My tires should probably have been rotated since it had been 5,000 miles since my last oil change, and a peek into my reservoir shows no change (and the warning light comes on when I brake). The manager tried to print my estimates, but failed. He then promised to email them, which he did not. I am having a crisis of confidence in this business at this point, and that makes me sad because past experiences have been so positive. read more

I truly could say Alex,Carlos, and Nate are a godsend. I broke down on the corner of country club and baseline and mid panic attack I thought to call across the street for help. These three men were out and over to help my sobbing self push my car over to their lot and Alex helped me walk to the dealership to get my son from a lady who was nice enough to grab him for me as well as grabbing a cold water for myself and opening it for me ( I'm having surgery tomorrow for a broken pinky) so my world felt like it was crashing down. 2.5 hrs to get alignment, they only aligned half and didn't tell me, told me printers down when asked for a report, no can't email it, we can text a picture. Proceeded to print my receipt on their out of service printer. Didn't send report until 10min after I left, but had time to panhandle for google reviews and stand over my shoulder to make sure I do it. They wanna say they advised me that they couldn't do part of it because of bad struts and shocks, when really they said "you're good to go, cars a little bouncy because of bad struts and shocks" doesn't mention half done alignment until they saw me pull back into the parking lot, then they texted it to me. They wanna play games about "well I wasn't the one who told you that" as if they're not all representing the same company. I took my 2017 Toyota Tacoma there for brakes and they replace the rotors brake pads and calipers. They also said my CV joint was leaking and I had them replace that. The very first night I got my vehicle back it stopped moving forward and we had to be towed back to brakes plus. They looked at it and the next day and said they found nothing wrong and everything's working fine and would not pay for the tow. I ended up going back to Earnhardt Toyota and they redid the CV joint which was incorrectly installed and the brakes themselves the brake pedal would go all the way to the floor and they would not do anything about it so Earnhardt had to redo the brakes also. Can you imagine a brake place and they couldn't even get the brakes right please never use this place ever. Lessons learned, I'll only use Earnhardt service. read more

Immediately was approached my locations manager (Mike) saying " I can't work on your car it's too low don't show up to my shop before we open and stand and wait at my doors". which caught me off guard to be spoken to that way, I then tried to explain I had made an appointment for a brake check and a front alignment where he then told me "your brakes and rotors look brand new what's the problem" I further explained the issues I was having and this I wanted to know what part in the brake system was failing so I could find prices. Manager than turns and states "my guys are paid by job if your going to buy the part yourself we aren't going to inspect it to tell you what's wrong" after promotion "free brake inspection". I went in for an oil change, and a tire rotation. Before I went in I took the air valve cover off my front driver side tire to be able to identify if they had indeed done the tire rotation. I had a bad experience at another brakes plus location. I explained my concerns to Aaron, and he assured me that it wouldn't happen here. After my vehicle was finished, I checked to see if they had done the rotation, and they did not. I confront Aron and he said they didn't do it because it wasn't necessary. But I was clearly charged for the the rotation. It clearly says it on my service description. LAB-05201P Lube, Oil & Filter service (plus). $20.03. Another guy walked up, and they tried to green light me into thinking that was the price of the filter. It clearly already charged me for the filter above that. ECO-X4612 Oil filter $7.01. I am beyond disappointed. That's $20 that could have gone towards gas. If it didn't need the service then why charge me for it then lie to my face about it??? I guess this is common practice for brakes plus. The only reason I even came back to a brakes plus is because the dealers was booked I till next month. Stay away from these crooks. Also, when I first arrived Aron lied to me and said he didn't have an appointment for me. He said I wasn't in the system. When I assured him that I had an appointment, and I wasn't going to budge all of a sudden he knew what I was there for before I could even say it. "Oil change & tire rotation for the frontier". Unbelievable. He said it was going to take all day because they are under staffed. Basically trying to persuade me to leave. It did indeed take all day. I received an advertising flyer in the mail where Brakes Plus was offering a full synthetic oil change, up to 6 quarts of oil, for $59.99. I felt that was an attractive price and I was needing an oil change. I went there (Signal Butte and Southern) and had the oil change and when it came time to pay the bill my $59.99 oil change was $83.76! I voiced my displeasure about the hidden charges and the manager just shrugged his shoulders and kept playing with the computer. I had expected a sales tax, oil disposal, and shop supplies. But what got me was an added $10 for labor which is unheard of for an oil change. When I asked why, I got no answer. Another thing that bothered me was that, unrequested, they opened my glove box, detached it to get to my cabin air filter and brought it to me to show me it was dirty. I was told the replacement filter was $26.99. However, there was an additional charge of $29.40 for labor and $4.26 in spurious charges. The glove box was already detached and all they had to do was slip the new filter in and reattach the glove box and they wanted $29.40 to do that? I said no and they had to reattach my glove box anyway without getting a potential $26.99 for a new filter. Needless to say that was my first and last trip to any Brakes Plus establishment. Last time I went here for the synthetic oil change, I have a oil filter housing assembly (plastic) for my toyota. The mechanic really torqe-ed down the oil filter housing which has the round paper filter inside. These housings are only supposed to be installed at 18lb maximum. Well I decided to change oil using a different brand of oil. When i put the special tool on there to take of the oil filter housing, the housing would not come off. I used a Motivx 2320 wrench for that. The filter housing would not budge. I tried every long handled ratchet I had, it would not budge. Finally with the 24" breaker bar I got it off, it was like removing a lug nut. But housing was damaged I had to buy a new oil filter housing. I put on the new oil filter housing with a torque wrench at 18 pounds of torque. read more

I'm just going to start by saying this isn't my first bad experience with brakes plus, but it is surely the last. Was in a bind and thought maybe I'd have better luck at a different location and I was absolutely incorrect. Let me break down why: I dropped my car off first thing on Saturday 4/13. It had a SLOW coolant leak and overheated the night before for the first time ever. After refilling the coolant, the car ran fine and was driven a few more times that night and the next morning with no issues overheating or any other cooling issues whatsoever. So I'm waiting there that morning, it takes them 2 hours to find the leak, they tell me it's the upper radiator hose and give me an estimate. I approved it (my biggest mistake) and they told me it would be 3 hours to complete the repair, so I had someone come pick me up. I call over 3 hours later and I'm told the part hasn't even arrived at the shop yet. Then I try to tell them I no longer want them to complete it and that I could have it done for a lower cost somewhere else and they tell me that it's too late, they already took it apart and if I pick it up I will be charged the labor anyway, so I'm forced to let them complete the job and pick it up before they close. After hearing that I was upset, I get another call from someone else on their team and he tells me that the issue I was told it was, wasn't even the actual problem and that it was thermostat and the thermostat housing that they would actually be replacing and conveniently it was a slightly lower price. So now how am I even supposed to trust their diagnosis because as soon as I get upset they change it to something slightly less expensive as if that's going to make me happy?? It just makes them look untrustworthy. Upon picking my car up, I discovered that my AC was no longer cooling and of course they took all day so it was right when they closed and I had to wait until Monday to drop it back off. I then drop it off Monday 4/15 for them to fix whatever they messed up and they're now telling me that it magically had another code that they didn't mention anything about on Saturday or in any of their notes and it needed a software update that only the dealership can do and that it couldn't possibly have been from their doing. Mind you, the AC was ICE COLD Saturday morning when I brought it in and they're chalking it up to coincidence. Michael who I talked to most was of absolutely zero help and did nothing but deflect responsibility for a problem that didn't exist until immediately after they worked on it. Take my advice and don't ever let these scumbags touch your car. UPDATE: I've now had my car looked at by a mechanic that specializes in German cars and have written confirmation that Brakes Plus caused the issues with my AC and that it could've lead to an entire engine replacement if any components or circuits had shorted out due to them reconnecting things improperly. I've spoken with the regional manager Todd and he also refused to resolve anything or take accountability for his employees negligence and even accused me of being a liar. Please take my advice and learn from my mistakes and never let this place work on your car. read more

Lydia Griffin- would highly recommend, just went in after buying a used car just three months ago to have my brakes checked because they had felt low since I bought them and I even got the entire car checked at a nearby Pep Boys location the week of buying it to ensure that everything was good. I knew it was nothing big because I just had them checked out at my Honda dealership when I had my oil changed. My car only had 30.000 miles. They looked at my brakes. Brakes Plus charged $600+ MORE in parts price over the Suppliers. I have listed parts info so you can compare online. On top of that, Brakes Plus charged labor at $90/Hour for 3+ Hours. The actual labor time was less than 2-Hours (4pm to 5:30pm). I was waiting in the store while they worked on the vehicle. TIMKEN Front wheel bearing/hub assembly (TIM-SP580310): average Price at Home Depot and other auto supply stores are ranging from $148-to-$222 each. Brakes Plus Charged be $422 each. Approximately $200+ MORE each or Approximately $400+ EXTRA for 2 units. I am using the HIGHEST supplier price for comparison. CENTRIC C-TEK Rear Brake Rotor (CEN-121.66044): average supplier cost is $35. Brakes Plus charged me $101 each. $65 MORE each unit. Approximately $130 EXTRA for 2 units. CENTRIC Ceramic Rear Brake Pad Set (CEN-105.07850): average supply store price is $36 each set. Brakes plus charged me $89 each set. Approximately $53 MORE for each set. I had some squeaking in my brakes and wanted to get them checked.l I was hesitant, as I was afraid to be taken advantage of. HOWEVER..this was an EXCELLENT experience from my first phone call to the inspection. Curtis, the General Manager was so nice and informative. He got me scheduled quickly. When I went in I had the pleasure of chatting with Mike, a Service Advisor. He got my truck started and in no time they called to actually tell me I DIDN'T NEED BRAKES YET! They told us we don't need an alignment fine so we get the oil change. Husband drives off and check engine light comes on (has NEVER been on before new car) take it back and the guy has the nerve to argue with my husband that the light was on when we brought it in. The paperwork THEY did on the car clearly stated there was no check engine light on. my husband had previously disagreed with the guy about needed a new cabin filter so makes me wonder if they did something to the car to make some money. I called and the guy that answered said they could take me in right away for a alignment if I headed over. I was there in less than 10 minutes. After waiting 30 minutes in the lobby I asked the guy that checked me in how long it was going to take to get my vehicle in and he said an hour and 20 minutes. I asked him to let me talk to the guy that told me they could take my vehicle immediately and he said ok. He went back to the service bays and never came back to the lobby. I ended up getting my keys from another employee. While I was waiting I asked a guy how long he had been waiting and he said an hour and a half when he was told it would be 20 minutes. Horrible experience at this location on Country Club and Baseline. Mike is a horrible employee (manager ?) with no care for the customers, rude attitude, no customer service, and a clearly poor work ethic. I paid for over $1,000 in services back in January (including brakes) which now in June I find out from another mechanic that took a look at my car (because of brake issues) that NONE of these services were either done correctly or even done at all!!!!! I even had a tire at risk of blowing because they put it on incorrectly. When I came back to the Brakes Plus (with my previous receipt and proof) to find out more about what happened, the employees AND "MANAGERS" were lazy and showed horrible customer service if any. I was pushed to the side and treated like I was a bother for expressing my concerns. The employees and managers here did not seem to know what they are doing and did not care for their customers. I came here on January 27 2024 , they supposed changed the rotors on me car thing that they didn't do, and they charged me for it they replace my front Struts well that's what they said, my front passenger tired since they done the job was sticking out, they said is was because it needs alignment, I remember this guy named Mike, I'm her again trying they fix what they did wrong, in both occasions the people in front been rude and no professional, I came back because I took my car to another shop, my car was making this horrible noises when I press down the brakes, and what they found out was all the things that Brakes Plus didn't do and charged for it and the Structs that they didn't replaced or broken or improper installation did, another awful experience here again at the end I ask if they can do the rotation of my tires because my front passenger tire is now wearing out from the out side, cause for the bad work they did this guy says no they won't do it and ask me to no came back, of course they don't want people came back to tell them how bad job they done, plus he tell m especially after the bad reviews you should not came back, after the horrible experiences I had with them I won't com back, im, not crazy to bring my car here again is a shame I can post pictures or videos of this but I have them with me to prove all I said don't trust this people they charged you for part and job they don't do and they don't care, I'm clarify that this happened to me at the shop of 1961 S Country Club Dr., Mesa 85210 read more

After the last few times I have had a service done at Brakes plus it's safe to say I'll never be returning. I had a battery replaced atleast 4-5 times because they kept installing bad batteries, which then killed my alternator so I had to have that replaced also & no more than 2 weeks later I had to have my alternator replaced again, because that one was bad too! This is all within a 3 month span of constantly having to go back to their shop week after week trying to figure out how these batteries & alternators keep getting installed improperly. I then had lost hope & haven't been back since but recently I had to get an oil change which I usually would go to them for so I said you know what why not, so I made an appointment for an oil change and they used to be reliable & timely so I wanted to still believe they would be but at this point I was in disbelief & just disappointed now, I had dropped my car off 15 minutes early for my appointment & said I would be back which ended up being an hour and 45 mins later. Thought ok for an oil change it should be done by now. I am getting dropped back off to pick up my car to hear someone tell me oh yeah i think they're finishing it up now let me check, right then i knew something was up because i could see my car in the parking lot so i asked the guy, what do you mean they're finishing up, my car is right there in the parking lot. Soo is it done or has it even been serviced? He then comes back after talking to some guy in the back & said oh they're going to pull it in to do the oil change soon. Mind you, It had already been at their shop for an hour and 45 mins & that was why I made an appointment so i didn't have to wait like i was someone just walking in & if they could squeeze me in. I then asked to speak to the manager and he just kept giving me excuse after excuse saying because he had soo many people that were walk ins he was trying to get them out the way first & he compared his shop to like a doctors office saying "things aren't always on time like they say they are" which sure you're trying to get new clientele but now you're losing existing customers when I have came to brakes plus for atleast 3years but now I'll be taking my business & money elsewhere because clearly to him existing customers aren't as important. Shady business here Came in to do an alignment after I ran over a curb in reverse. Car was shaking badly. They said front passenger must have been damaged previously. Quoted me $800 to replace all shocks and struts and alignment. They showed me the separated tire, which was unsafe to drive but they let me drive home like that. I went next day to my trusted mechanic and he tried to find any damage but nothing was wrong. He says the struts were all new. Bought new tires and car not shaking but pulls a little to right. Take it to reputable place for alignment. Everything can be adjusted in spec they said. Car drives smooth and no problems. These guys are shady, and are making things up to charge you money.
