1/2 my life has been connected with automotive. This Brakemasters has a manager who stayed on as manager when it changed over to Brakemasters. Paul is among the best and certainly most competent as a diognostician. Complementing is Al. A mechanic any business would want. Business is conducted in the ideal manner. That means serving the community, the employees', families, local merchants, as a reliable and highly responsible business. I became a regular customer over 20 years ago. I am advised if a repair is a safety issue or something that safely can wait. I am advised when OEM replacement parts are much better or if after market is practical. With one of my vehicles it needed parts to be replaced. OEM could last a number of years where as aftermarket could last 6-12 months. That made the cost of OEM parts and labor much lower cost per month/year. They believe in the value of service I am sure they have my best interest in mind. I took a used car in that I bought a few weeks ago. The front left brake was intermittently making a noise. I called Friday afternoon and Paul said bring it in Saturday morning. They did an inspection and said the pads looked new and they might be still breaking in. Said my brakes were safe and no service was needed. I would say stray away from this garage with every suggestion I have. I bought some brakes from here with a lifetime warranty and I went back after I took it to the dealership because they said I need a new brake pads and I told him the amount of miles on the car he stated that you would not honor his warranty. he said that this is a car that's usually used for business so he swears that he said that to me. I went and bought pads. My lifetime guarantee and I brought it back to him. I said OK how much would you charge me? I just put on the pads. I bought the pads, he stated that he could not do that until somehow, I have to work around some kind of schedule. You calling me a price of 350 to 360 I took it to a shop down the street and cost me $200. I would never use this man in my opinion he's a liar and he's a she anybody else to do your brakes do not use him. read more

My wheel was making a terrible noise, it felt like my wheel was locking up. I took it to a different shop and they told me I needed new rotors, new brake pads, and new calipers. They also quoted me $1,300 for it all. I called Brake Masters and they immediately sounded more knowledgeable and saw my car ASAP. My ABS light came on one day while driving around town. I drive a 30 year old 4x4 with 231,000 miles on it. I knew I had to take it in as soon as possible. I was dreading the turn around time for repairs during this "pandemic." But also dreading the can of worms of a problem this might be. I had been at this location before with my 1991 Ford Explorer a couple years earlier. My first experience was flawless. The manager Paul was a true professional and the bill was definately worth the price. Paul informed me about what needed to be replaced and what might have to be replaced in the future. (I've seen shops add everything on the bill, but not here.) His mechanics did a thorough job finding what needed service and what might need service at a later date. So, after my first experience, I totally decided to go back to see Paul to fix my ABS problem. I dropped off the old rig with Paul once again during the first week of October of 2020. Upon walking into the office I knew why I came back. It's a very clean shop and very organized. You won't have to worry about catching the "sweet and sour sniffles" here. And Paul's is a super easy guy to talk to. When the truck was ready for pick up, I cruised on down. Everything that needed to be done was done, and done really well! Turn around time from dropping the keys off, to the time picking them up, was on point. I couldn't have been happier. They did a great job looking over my entire braking system! It was a ligit, full inspection. Paul is a perfectionist and it won't leave his shop unless the job is done to a high standard. This is a great spot in Scottsdale that does a great job. These people can not be trusted! Remove your valuables before taking your car in for service. Things tend to disappear! For the prices they charge, you can get the same service done twice at other shops. But they wont tell you the price before they do the work. Its an after thought. and they are entitled to it! I always use brake master for their clean and efficient service. I have always gone to the Scottsdale and Shea location but decided to stop by this location as I was going to be in this part of town for a couple hours. Got my oil changed and a permanent black stain on my passenger seat. I had just washed my truck the day prior and am very meticulous about cleaning my truck multiple times a week. I have tried wiping and shampooing my seats to no success. Good service but now I have this ugly stain to look at every day. read more

Still the BEST MECHANICS I've ever seen. Like I mentioned in my earlier review, I've been to a lot of auto shops, other Brake Masters locations (Mesa, Phoenix), Valvoline, Fletchers (just god awful), Midas, Pep Boys and Sun Devil... No better service and price than here! I always get my oil changes here and my vehicles checked out before going on a road trip. Recommended to all my family and friends... And fellow yelpers! Paul really knows car history and can predict the pros/cons to most vehicles. I've been in a ride along with him and he can usually tell what's wrong, if anything just by driving it. Fairly fast service, just call to see if they're busy, no more than 45min for an oil change during peak times. read more

STOP!!! Look no further for a car repair place. Just because they are called Brake Masters does NOT MEAN they only do brakes. They can DO EVERYTHING!!!! Great mechanics. Great prices. They have drop box so you can drop off your car after hours. So happy with their work, took my mom older 2002 Buick here to get some work done. I know they told me the truth about what needed to be done because I had the car taken to a different place before this but the price they wanted for the repair was outrageous! So this is what fatherhood has come to. I haven't been out to eat since my son was born. Craving an opportunity to write another review on Yelp, I'm stuck reviewing my last oil change. I went in, the place was dead. The guy told me there was a 90 minute wait (not to mention it's a first come first serve establishment) He said it would be best if I come back. Go back 90 minutes. No one around. The guy says it's going to be a 30 minute wait till they can look at my car. I say I'll wait. 40 minutes later and my car is still sitting where I parked it. I get frustrated and leave. Two days later, I arrive right when they open. This time NO people and NO cars. It still takes them 45 minutes to do a basic oil change. I may be Jewish and the phrase "get the car serviced" is a childhood slogan in my family, but even I can change the oil quicker with no tools than these putz's! Even though I had a $10 off coupon the hours I spent waiting for them to do the job is not worth it. Don't bother. read more

I went into this shop about a year ago after getting my brakes fixed at Midas about three months earlier. Franchises like this frightens the living daylights out of me; however, this time and at this location things worked out perfectly. Kelly, the owner, met me, listened to my concerns and came up with a very agreeable price to repair my vehicle. After the work was completed "on time" Kelly personally guaranteed that if I had a problem to please come back and he would make it right. Needless to say, in the future whether I move to another part of the valley or not, this shop will solely garner my business for all repairs on my car. I really appreciate when a shop tries to make sure they fix nothing more or less than what you need. My brakes had been squeaking for a while, so I finally decided it was time to get them looked at. I set an appointment, and within minutes of arriving, they had my car up on the lift and all four tires off. They identified the squeak, which had to do with cheap pads from a previous brake job. Here's the clincher, they told me that there was at least 40k miles left on the front pads, so no need to replace them unless the squeak was really bothering me. The rear set needed changing though, so we ended up just doing those. I could have easily believed I needed to resurface the front rotors and change the pads, but because of their honesty, I saved a couple hundred dollars avoiding unnecessary repairs. My first review from my phone didn't post...hmmm....thanks Yelp for that. I bought drums online because they were upgrades and OEMs so I replaced my rear drums by myself. All went well except the peddle vibration and some poor braking. Something was wrong here so I decided to take my truck in here after reading so many positive reviews. The reviews were spot on! The drums I received were warped and Paul knew right away they needed to be recut. I dropped my truck off in the morning anf had it back in perfect working condition before lunch. Oh yeah....the price.....BETTER than any quote I got in the area by a long shot! Excellent service, excellent pricing, treated with complete and total respect....I've already been back to have my front end replaced and sent more business their way. This is what customer service and value is all about. I'm struggling like the rest of you reading this, financially, and Khaled and Paul are extremely fair and just businessman. I had called and was told that I could come in before 9am for a vehicle inspection and they would get me in to have my vehicle inspected. Arrived at 8am and was treated disrespectfully. They specifically told me that I was not their priority today. The inspection typically takes 30 minutes and is such a superficial inspection, anybody can do it. My car is in pretty good shape so it would've been a super easy service to provide me and it would take them maybe 10 minutes to do. I have waited 2 hours and still have not had my car looked at. Simply from this inspection alone, I don't think I will ever bring my business here. Sad to see that, despite so many good reviews on here, they weren't even apologetic for miscommunicating their service to me. I strongly would not recommend this company to anybody. read more

BRAKE MASTERS IS AWESOME not only do they work out of a cool vintage gasoline shop on scottsdale road but they have excellent customer service. They give you a ride home and back to the shop, they have a nice area to sit and wait, they're all positive and won't overcharge you. fixed a dozen other little things on my car today without charging labor bc they said they were minor and they didn't want to charge me 350 for a new valve cover that was cracked so they're gonna find one for me on monday for 40 dollars bc mine had cracked and was leaking everywhere. Thats a good shop in my book. They rock and like everyone here says Paul is awesome and everyone there! read more
