This is still one my favorite repair shops in the valley. Since my last review I still have received the same level of great service. As a woman who knows I going about cars these guys have always taken care of me. I have received quotes on services that I would have paid a ton of money for. Took it to these guys for a second opinion only to find out the service was never needed or I was about to get ripped off. My 2006 Lexus that rarely gets serviced has been in good hands based on all my service needs by this location. Oil changes, routine inspections, brakes and more have always been serviced perfectly. My dad and i have been going to these guys since '05. They are honest guys and wont try to make you fix everything on your car. They will tell you how long you can go with out getting things fixed. They are generally really fast about things. Hao always remembers us when we bring our cars in, and is happy to see us (but who wouldn't be happy about loyal business) Great local mechanics that know what they are doing. I've been to these guys a few times now and they have always been very professional and friendly. They took the time to listen to me and I never felt like I was being taken advantage of despite not knowing anything about cars. They have pretty decent customer care in my experience. (One time, when my car needed more repairs than they expected, and I had to go back to work, the guy gave me his own personal car to take back, which I seriously appreciated.) Walking in after my first visit, I was greeted by name and asked about my mom who also uses Cactus Imports for regular maintenance. I only go to CI whether for repairs or regular maintenance and never regret it. Always done same day even with repairs. A special shout out for the work they did today (especially Hao): I came in for an oil change and diagnostic. Turns out my CE light was on because.... the gas cap was loose (do'oh!). They could have easily made up some BS (my car's in less than 100% perfect condition), charged me a boat load, and I'd be none the wiser. With absolutely NO judgement for my uh... lapse in logic, were honest and didn't charge a cent for the diagnostic. 5 stars for: price, professionalism, integrity, friendlines, quality, efficiency, convenience, cleanliness, location, and staff. read more

I took my Audi A4 in this shop to fix a leak. The check engine light was on too. They told me it wasn't the leak, but the coils that needed to be fixed to remove the check engine light. The entire repair cost me $800. The next day my car is leaking like a faucet and my check engine light was on again. I took it back, and they told me it was a separate issue and it's going to cost a lot to repair this new problem. I asked them to call me with an estimate and they never reached out to me again. I need to get a second opinion, but I believe this is totally their fault. My car has a bigger leak then before and my check engine light is still on. I will NEVER use them again, and I plan on holding them responsible if this "new" issue is a result of their negligence. read more

Fixed a few weird problems with my Accord and did a wonderful tune up on my Civic. Hao and his brother runs the shop and offers very good care for their customer's car. I live in Gilbert and I've been driving 30+ miles each way, to Hao's shop for over 14 years. Great work at an affordable price, honest and all around great bunch of guys, an auto shop with integrity, in an industry that is notorious for screwing people over to boost profits. A shop and group of people like this is a very rare find. My first car was a 1996 Honda civic, the a/c stopped working so I took it to a local shop (Hontech in Chandler) they did a lengthy diagnostic test, then they came to break the news to me that pretty much it was all bad and $1500 to get my a/c working again.. ouch.. At that time (2001) Cactus Auto, was a small "hole in the wall" at 19the ave and cactus, my dad worked very close by, so I brought my civic in and very quickly he knew the a/c wasn't bad, it turned out that an aftermarket fan, kept blowing the fuse, they replaced the bad fan with a Honda made part, and that's all it took, they even topped off my a/c so it was ice cold as a courtesy. I don't remember how much the bill was, I'm pretty sure less than $200 much of which was just the part, but they saved me well over $1000. So needless to say I never went to Hontech again... 14 years and several vehicles later I still go to Cactus Auto, and have had my family and friends make the long drive to them from Chandler/Gilbert for their vehicles as well... The work I have personally had done/gotten fixed here on my various vehicles over the years is: Blown head gasket, Transmission rebuild, A/c compressor, expansion valve, shocks, struts, brakes, tie rods, cv boots, window regulators, motor mounts, alignments, and im sure a lot more I'm sure but don't remember.
