Filip and his crew are amazing! They've been our go-to guys for all our car issues over the last year. They're reasonable, honest, and down to earth. Filip has done regular maintenance and repairs on my Honda and Toyota and does a great job. Filip did a check of the entire system the last time we did an oil change. I ended up bringing the car to a Honda dealership a few weeks late because it was under warranty for a recurring issue. Instead of trying to also upsell us on other work the car needed, the dealership went..."well, we've got nothing else to tell you. Everything is in tip-top shape." I've NEVER left a dealership hearing those words. All in all, I'm impressed. I believe they do more performance work than repairs, so you'll have to confirm with them if you want something done. The only slight difficulty is that the shop is super busy and not incredibly responsive. You may have to wait a while to get a reply, but trust me, it's worth it. read more

Under desperate circumstances I found this shop on a Saturday afternoon through google and yelp searches. I talked to the owner Filip over the phone and explained one of the wheel studs stripped and I was unable to take the wheel off. He recommended replacing the wheel hub but I needed the car on Sunday and explained I'm fine with driving 4/5 lugs on the wheel and schedule the hub replacement later in the week. I drove the car in to his shop and waited for his call when it was ready. To my surprise he called me a few hours later and advised me he took the wheel off (it was necessary to get to the stripped stud); and had already ordered the hub replacement and can get it installed before 6pm same day! I would have been happy with the removal of the stud and schedule the hub replacement later that week. But this saved me time and money with his quick repair. I highly recommend Filip's shop. Very reasonable and honest guy. Will definitely use his services again. Waiting area is very cool too. read more

Good experience here last week. They have good high quality equipment that was able to recharge my AC system on my Subaru. I had another shop work on the AC but the car still wasn't quite right. Here's the key takeaway, Mr Flop is mean. I'd do a point by point take-down of his response and how it actually contains lies about the appointment, but the takeaway is that he has a bad attitude. When I told him I was uncomfortable with the way I was treated he was dismissive and in his response here he still is uncaring and made stuff up to make it sound like it was him who had a bad experience. In his response, Mr. Flop makes false assumptions about me. Never had an appointment to miss, we discussed it before the purchase that I'd stop by the next afternoon, and since there's never anybody there, he said "I'll just send them back if you don't want them. I was discussing buying tires from Costco with him, but decided to use my local guy to be supportive. His characterization of me is just nonsense. Why did he lie about the appointment. Look at eh calendar, I went in the sop on Monday with the flyer, had the work done on Wednesday instead of Tuesday, couldn't have "missed two appointments" if I tried. There are no customers so it seemed right to be loose with the appointment times. From what I read, it sounds like he wants the right to treat people badly because he's a victim. Maybe he was having a bad day. At least he's gotten his one lonely trainee to say he wasn't mean. LOL what exactly is he trying to prove by saying that? Frankly, what he calls "mexican" shops are probably nicer than this egomaniac. Sure, he has a right to be as mean and rude as he wants. He can judge whatever he wants to about me. I'm surprised he didn't say I had poor taste in clothes too! There is a reason no one for miles around uses this shop. In fact, no on uses this shop at all. He's probably only ripping people off because he's hurting for cash. If he wanted a good review he could have been nicer, friendlier, maybe even just decent. Even still, he's not making an attempt. I WOULD RECOMMEND TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP - Filip Sota, the owner, is highly unprofessional and tries to place all negative comments and issues back on his customers! THE ISSUE - I had an appointment scheduled with Flop Shop C/o Filip Slota, almost two months in advance - with one of the concerns being to review a burning oil smell - which Filip mentioned in advance is probably a valve cover gasket AND quoted for, being a common issue in older Subarus. When my appointment (finally) came up, I took my car to him (and took a Lyft ride home). The next day, Filip, called me and said, 'sorry, another bigger project has come along, and I can't work on your car for at least a month or two'. I had to take another Lyft ride back to pick up my car. Filip was well aware I had a road trip planned and needed the valve cover gasket repaired! I had the Subaru Superstore repair the valve cover gasket - they did an excellent job! In Filips's response to my Google Review, he holds no blame, is rude, and tries to blame the issue on me! Filip is clearly a highly irresponsible owner, who doesn't take ownership of his scheduling mess and then tries to blame his customers! Read Jeep forums for weeks trying to diagnose the issues myself. They were able to diagnose the exact issues within hours. My Vehicle: 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Codes: P2173- Throttle Actuator Ctrl Sys-Hi Airflow Detected P2110-Throttle Actuator Ctrl-Forced Limited RPM C121C Torque Request Denied On my invoice, Flip indicates in writing what each code means and what needs to be done to fix it. Very helpful & professional in my opinion. Whereas other shops have told me "Here's what we think.. & well we won't be sure till we actually change the parts.. But here's the invoice for the hour we spent diagnosing it." or "Leave it here and we'll give it another shot, and yes we will charge you for another day." Flop Shop Invoice and cost of repair: Diagnostic: $105 PCV Valve & hose: $162 Throttle Body, gasket & TB Relearn with scan tool: $582 Mopar PCV valve runs for about $12 shipped (Quadratec) Mopar hose is $13 shipped (Quadratec) Took me 25 minutes to install the PVC valve with minimal tools on my own the first time. Mopar Throttle body 4593858AB $280 shipped (Quadratec) Took me about 30 minutes of install. I don't have the "expensive scan tool" to program/relearn the new TB. Flop Shop charges $105 to do this. I've determined that the issue was being caused by two loose 8mm bolts on the tube connecting to the EGR valve. Once both bolts were tightened, no air was escaping, the jeep idled better, codes never came back on, and never went into limp mode. I took it to rocky point this weekend, drove it for hours throughout the city, waited to cross at the border for 4 hours with the jeep idling with AC on. Jeep behaved perfectly. Filip the owner is great to work with. It's really hard to find an honest mechanic these days. Every time I called, he took the time to answer all my questions. I needed my transmission and brakes checked. He inspected the car and only charged me for an oil change. He also provided a detail of service that the car needed and clearly explained everything. I had met Filip earlier in the year while being his Lyft driver. He was very friendly, seemed like a driven individual, and offered some free insight on my motor mounts that were starting to concern me. In the car he let me know that the sounds was fine and if it gets worse to bring it by his shop. Fast forward a month or two and my car starts making an odd sound behind my glove box.
