Filip and his crew are amazing! They've been our go-to guys for all our car issues over the last year. They're reasonable, honest, and down to earth. Filip has done regular maintenance and repairs on my Honda and Toyota and does a great job. Filip did a check of the entire system the last time we did an oil change. I ended up bringing the car to a Honda dealership a few weeks late because it was under warranty for a recurring issue. Instead of trying to also upsell us on other work the car needed, the dealership went..."well, we've got nothing else to tell you. Everything is in tip-top shape." I've NEVER left a dealership hearing those words. All in all, I'm impressed. I believe they do more performance work than repairs, so you'll have to confirm with them if you want something done. The only slight difficulty is that the shop is super busy and not incredibly responsive. You may have to wait a while to get a reply, but trust me, it's worth it. read more

Filip is by far the most helpful mechanic I've ever worked with. He spent the time to discuss my goals and offered numerous options to maximize my budget. He not only solved my car problems, but he helped me upgrade my 2011 Subaru STi using a combination of OEM and aftermarket components, sending pictures along the way. I could tell he was just as excited as I was to upgrade my car. Honestly I am blown away. It feels like a different car. Filip and Flop Shop are truly exceptional. I would give 6 stars if I could. read more

A friend of mine recommended this shop and I'm so glad she did. Filip is very responsive on Facebook Messenger. He gave me a quote on what I needed done right away. He was able to get me in quick. He did an inspection and and told me that my rear brake pads and rotors don't need to be replaced yet so he updated the quote he gave me. Pricing is more reasonable than the dealership. He was able to resolve the issues of my car. I would definitely go back if I need my car serviced or if I want mods. read more

I am amazed by this place, I was actually directed here by AMC Automotive and I can't thank them enough. These people know what they're doing! And they actually care about YOU as well as your vehicle. Like "people physicians" they are specialized for a reason. I had a problem with my Subaru Impreza that was incredibly difficult to diagnose; when Philip came out to the waiting area, he should have been wearing scrubs and a surgical mask. First class garage all the way!! read more

Filip has been awesome to chat with and I appreciate his honesty and recommendations! 10/10 coming back and having him work on my car in the future. Thanks Filip! read more

Filip has been taking care of our family's cars for years and he always does an incredible job. He goes out of his way to provide the best service. Filip somehow finished working on my vehicle a day before the eta, which is so helpful given it's the holidays. He even had my car washed before giving us the keys. I highly recommend Flop Shop Automotive! read more

Yet again Filip knocks it out of the park for downright considerate customer service! I was having issues with my ac and needed a recharge on short notice. Filip went out of his way to make time for me and get me back on the road so my service dog didn't overheat! He's focused focused now on Subaru and Honda now to streamline the business, and honestly has made such an impression on me over the years I may buy one or the other just to keep him as my mechanic! Great guys! Won't pull punches or bs you! Thanks again Flop Shop! read more

Under desperate circumstances I found this shop on a Saturday afternoon through google and yelp searches. I talked to the owner Filip over the phone and explained one of the wheel studs stripped and I was unable to take the wheel off. He recommended replacing the wheel hub but I needed the car on Sunday and explained I'm fine with driving 4/5 lugs on the wheel and schedule the hub replacement later in the week. I drove the car in to his shop and waited for his call when it was ready. To my surprise he called me a few hours later and advised me he took the wheel off (it was necessary to get to the stripped stud); and had already ordered the hub replacement and can get it installed before 6pm same day! I would have been happy with the removal of the stud and schedule the hub replacement later that week. But this saved me time and money with his quick repair. I highly recommend Filip's shop. Very reasonable and honest guy. Will definitely use his services again. Waiting area is very cool too. read more

It's hard to find a good experience when going to the mechanic but Filip and team nail it! Short story: Needed new tires, 90k checkup, and I had a strange sound coming from somewhere...who the hell knows where. Couple days later...all things checked, couple new tires, and sound is gone while car is running as smooth as when I drove it off the lot years ago. Easy to communicate with and knowledgable. Good experience here last week. They have good high quality equipment that was able to recharge my AC system on my Subaru. I had another shop work on the AC but the car still wasn't quite right. FlopShop was able to diagnose and resolve the issue for a great price. Highly recommend taking you car here for any AC work, very knowledgeable and explained everything in good detail. Not many in the area have the knowledge and equipment to do good AC repairs. Thanks for the service! Will be back for any future issues for sure. read more

Here's the key takeaway, Mr Flop is mean. I'd do a point by point take-down of his response and how it actually contains lies about the appointment, but the takeaway is that he has a bad attitude. When I told him I was uncomfortable with the way I was treated he was dismissive and in his response here he still is uncaring and made stuff up to make it sound like it was him who had a bad experience. In his response, Mr. Flop makes false assumptions about me. Never had an appointment to miss, we discussed it before the purchase that I'd stop by the next afternoon, and since there's never anybody there, he said "I'll just send them back if you don't want them. I was discussing buying tires from Costco with him, but decided to use my local guy to be supportive. His characterization of me is just nonsense. Why did he lie about the appointment. Look at eh calendar, I went in the sop on Monday with the flyer, had the work done on Wednesday instead of Tuesday, couldn't have "missed two appointments" if I tried. There are no customers so it seemed right to be loose with the appointment times. From what I read, it sounds like he wants the right to treat people badly because he's a victim. Maybe he was having a bad day. At least he's gotten his one lonely trainee to say he wasn't mean. LOL what exactly is he trying to prove by saying that? Frankly, what he calls "mexican" shops are probably nicer than this egomaniac. Sure, he has a right to be as mean and rude as he wants. He can judge whatever he wants to about me. I'm surprised he didn't say I had poor taste in clothes too! There is a reason no one for miles around uses this shop. In fact, no on uses this shop at all. He's probably only ripping people off because he's hurting for cash. If he wanted a good review he could have been nicer, friendlier, maybe even just decent. Even still, he's not making an attempt. My experience here sucked from the lecture to the ventilated waiting shack. read more

They guys at flop shop are awesome. They gave me excellent recommendations to remedy the drivetrain slop I had in my rear end. They had parts in fast and installed even faster. Couldn't recommend them more read more

Filip, the shop owner, is an incredible resource. After two other sources telling me my car would be thousands of dollars to fix, Filip ran his own diagnostics and discovered the root of the problem with my engine. I waited a couple months before writing this review to make sure that the services I received were still working well, lol. I have a usual place I go to get my car serviced but my mechanic was all booked up. So I reached out to the Flop Shop and received a prompt reply. They were able to squeeze me in for service. Filip was friendly, professional & affordable. He even reached out to me post service to make sure that my car was still running smoothly. Really good experience! read more

Filip the owner is great to work with. It's really hard to find an honest mechanic these days. Every time I called, he took the time to answer all my questions. I needed my transmission and brakes checked. He inspected the car and only charged me for an oil change. He also provided a detail of service that the car needed and clearly explained everything. His prices are reasonable. Being a Honda driver most of my life, I will be coming to see Filip for my future car repairs. Read Jeep forums for weeks trying to diagnose the issues myself. They were able to diagnose the exact issues within hours. My Vehicle: 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Codes: P2173- Throttle Actuator Ctrl Sys-Hi Airflow Detected P2110-Throttle Actuator Ctrl-Forced Limited RPM C121C Torque Request Denied On my invoice, Flip indicates in writing what each code means and what needs to be done to fix it. Very helpful & professional in my opinion. Whereas other shops have told me "Here's what we think.. & well we won't be sure till we actually change the parts.. But here's the invoice for the hour we spent diagnosing it." or "Leave it here and we'll give it another shot, and yes we will charge you for another day." Flop Shop Invoice and cost of repair: Diagnostic: $105 PCV Valve & hose: $162 Throttle Body, gasket & TB Relearn with scan tool: $582 Mopar PCV valve runs for about $12 shipped (Quadratec) Mopar hose is $13 shipped (Quadratec) Took me 25 minutes to install the PVC valve with minimal tools on my own the first time. Mopar Throttle body 4593858AB $280 shipped (Quadratec) Took me about 30 minutes of install. I don't have the "expensive scan tool" to program/relearn the new TB. Flop Shop charges $105 to do this. Not sure what the procedure is like but this video shows it being done in less than 5 minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttZZSN8gEo8 The cost of parts and repair seems fair for those non-DIY folks who just want their vehicles fixed right by an expert mechanic. I, on the other hand, prefer to save money and do some of the work myself.. Also: Spoke to 2 other staff over the phone and they seemed very friendly and eager to help. Nice to see the friendliness is consistent. I'm satisfied with their promptness and expert advice I received. UPDATE: Hey Flip! I've determined that the issue was being caused by two loose 8mm bolts on the tube connecting to the EGR valve. Once both bolts were tightened, no air was escaping, the jeep idled better, codes never came back on, and never went into limp mode. I took it to rocky point this weekend, drove it for hours throughout the city, waited to cross at the border for 4 hours with the jeep idling with AC on. Jeep behaved perfectly. Just thought I'd let you know in case you run into someone with a similar problem. Best read more

I WOULD RECOMMEND TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP - Filip Sota, the owner, is highly unprofessional and tries to place all negative comments and issues back on his customers! THE ISSUE - I had an appointment scheduled with Flop Shop C/o Filip Slota, almost two months in advance - with one of the concerns being to review a burning oil smell - which Filip mentioned in advance is probably a valve cover gasket AND quoted for, being a common issue in older Subarus. When my appointment (finally) came up, I took my car to him (and took a Lyft ride home). The next day, Filip, called me and said, 'sorry, another bigger project has come along, and I can't work on your car for at least a month or two'. I had to take another Lyft ride back to pick up my car. Filip was well aware I had a road trip planned and needed the valve cover gasket repaired! I had the Subaru Superstore repair the valve cover gasket - they did an excellent job! In Filips's response to my Google Review, he holds no blame, is rude, and tries to blame the issue on me! Filip is clearly a highly irresponsible owner, who doesn't take ownership of his scheduling mess and then tries to blame his customers! IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR TIME & MONEY, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE! read more

Filip is absolutely the best mechanic I've encountered in Phoenix. He is an honest, personable, and knowledgeable mechanic who wants nothing more than to please the customer and perform highly satisfying work. *"This is a review of the over the phone experience** I called many different auto shops for a quote for a specific repair. All other shop were happy to give a quote (also said they would need to inspect truck to be sure). But when I called this place they said they don't do over the phone quotes. Then the guy said if I bring it in they can check it and give a quote. That was fine if they want to inspect first. But then guy tells me that if they quoted me and I decided not to fix with them it will be $122 for the quote. Also they can't guarantee that cost of quote would go towards repair cost. That seems like a money grab to me and left a bad feeling. read more

Filip is an ángel! I was coming into Phoenix with a severely overheating car on the way to Sedona from San Diego. I called him at 5:30 Friday night, he waited for me to arrive at the shop, diagnosed the problem that evening, and fixed everything by lunch the next day for a very fair price. I had met Filip earlier in the year while being his Lyft driver. He was very friendly, seemed like a driven individual, and offered some free insight on my motor mounts that were starting to concern me. In the car he let me know that the sounds was fine and if it gets worse to bring it by his shop. Fast forward a month or two and my car starts making an odd sound behind my glove box. Naturally I remember Filip and decide he's the guy I'd trust to work on my vehicle. He responded very quickly to my request for service, we got an appt. booked ASAP, and he fixed the issue quickly for a fair price. If you're looking for an experienced and trustworthy mechanic, look no further. He's now my go to guy and if anyone I know needs a mechanic he'll be the one I refer them to. read more

I can't say enough good things about Filip and the first rate service that he provides. My wife's car needed all three seat belts replaced in the back seat. He first let me know to check with the dealership to see if they are still under warranty which is always admirable because he had my best interest in mind from the beginning. When I found out they were not he was able to help me out in a timely manner at a fair price. He also checked out the entire car to ensure it was mechanically fit and provided recommendations of what to look out for in the future which at this time was a battery that was starting to lose its charge. He was completely transparent through the entire process and I am so glad I found a great mechanic here that I can rely on and trust. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a great mechanic and will be taking all my future auto mechanic business to him. read more
