Wow the quality of this place has declined tremendously. I was a regular customer to this place. That was until I realized I was paying extra for the 21 pt inspections for nothing in return. This place used to provide sheets detailing that inspections were done. I'll admit I'm not an automotive expert, but I do work in the industry. I'm aware of these mechanics taking advantage over customers who lack sufficient knowledge about vehicles. To test this place, I had purposely drained my power steering fluid on TWO, not one, separate occasions and even mentioned at the store that I was having steering issues. You would think the "21 pt inspections" would include refilling of fluids right? Well at this place, that's a ploy to drive up sales. P/S fluid was never added and I guarantee that nothing was even looked at besides the oil being replaced. With this level of service, I'd expect Robert (the manager) to have quality control over his services. If you even think of visiting this place, look elsewhere. This is another shop that will deceive and take advantage of customers. What a great business structure you've got there Robert. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the purpose of this business is to service vehicles. I suppose their perception of service or business for that matter is to nickel and dime their customers while not performing what's paid for. Great job Robert! read more

I have been going to this Brakemasters for four years since I moved into the area and servicing three vehicles. Overall I think they do great work and David is very courteous. No issues. read more

I had taken my 2003 Camry to a different shop for estimates that took three days and an estimated cost of $4400 with a long list of immediate issues. I took my car the next day to Brake Masters on Southern Rd in Mesa. Within an hour, I had confirmation of my car only needing two rear brakes (no new master cylinder as quoted by someone else), new oil and lube, new timing belt and water pump for half the cost previously estimated by other company. I saved $3500 by going to Brake Masters. They were courteous, helpful, honest, and gave a lifetime warranty on parts with a 12-month or 12,000 mike Warranty on labor. I'll go back to Brake Masters the next time. read more

Rick and Jordan did awesome by me today! Brought in my car to have a scraping sound looked at, they fixed my minor issues and filled up my tires, Jordan even pointed out another issue I got checked and have now fixed! Great team, very professional workers. Will always be stopping by this brake masters for my car needs :) read more

Great diagnostic service. They fixed problems two other shops could not. Very happy to find a new and honest mechanic.

When I first moved to AZ I didn't know much about places that repaired cars so I brought my car to this brake masters because it is right down the road from me. I was told that I needed over $600 worth, which was split into priority and non priority, of work done and that was for new rotors and breaks. I told them to do the priority which was about $360 and I told them I needed an oil change as well as wiper fluid added. I was told my car would make the scrubbing noise until I replaced the rotors. Shortly after I started thinking and thought I should shop around to get other opinions. A few weeks later, I notice they never changed my oil (which is very dangerous) nor did they add wiper fluid and they better be glad they didn't charge me for it or I would raised pure you know what. I was really mad. I was recommended to another place by a coworker (Network Automotive) and they ran test on my car, well, it turns out I DID NOT need new rotors and only needed new break pads and guess what no more scrubbing noise. I only paid $180 for what break masters claim I needed to spend over $300 for and now I'm wondering if I even needed new rotors on the rear of my car or if they just told me that so they could over charge me, not even change them out, and keep MY money! Mind you I was already broke from moving halfway across the state for a new job so yea I'm pretty pissed. They probably thought I was dumb and don't know any better since I'm a female. I will NEVER go here again, as a matter of fact I wouldn't even give them the satisfaction of my eyes looking over there when I drive by. I would give negative stars if I could. (If I have any typos above that should show just how mad I am!) read more

I went in for an oil change and they persistently tried getting me to replace an air filter for $50 and two belts for $200 that were not cracked as they claimed (I got a second opinion). It was just overall not a great experience. read more

Got my oil changed there a couple months ago Rick was very professional. Great prices, and the technician got the car in and out in under 30 minutes read more

I have been going to this Brake Masters for several years since I purchased their "lifetime brake" program. Their brakes do not last. I have been driving this same car since 2008 and never needed brakes until over 70,000 miles. Once I purchased their brakes there was always something going wrong with the brakes. I have paid them 89.95 each time to turn my rotors over and over again. I asked them why they needed to be turned every three months or so, seems weird. They shrugged their shoulders and said they were not sure. I finally got sick of getting ripped off every few months so I went to another Brake Masters. They also thought it was weird that my rotors had to be turned so often. Then they told me that they get a lot of complaints about this particular shop. That was enough for me. I will never, ever go there again. Screwing your customers is just plain stupid. People finally catch on as I see from other reviews posted here. Buyer beware! read more

The staff at this brake masters are very nice and friendly. I take my car in for regular oil change and I'm always pleased with the customer service. I will definitely be a regular! I was in and out within 1/2 a hour. The manager (Robert) is very helpful when I ask him questions about my car and he answers me in a respectful and honest opinion (considering I am a girl, people have tried waxing me but I am smarter than that) overall I am really satisfied with this shop. read more

After my first visit here I was won over with the customer service. It was busy but my work was completed in a timely matter. They also explained thourghly everything I needed to know. This is my goto shop! Robert is awesome! read more

All I can say they are the best of the best! I took my wife's Tracker in for alignment after buying new tires and I was in and out in 30 minutes and after checking the vehicle I was told I did not need an alignment. Dave at the front desk is outstanding, efficient, and a real asset to Brake Masters. He took the time to explain the technical aspects of alignment. Also the mechanics are outstanding and the shop is very clean and organized. These guys are fantastic and will get our business for the three cars we own. I will recommend this location at 6055 E, Southern Ave in Mesa to anyone needing car repair. Thanks for the best customer service ever!!!!!! read more

I went to Brake Masters because I had a coupon for 25% off and it was close. I had A/C/ checked out and the gentleman at the desk was equivalent to the the donkey (Eyore) from Winnie the Pooh....the most depressing soul I have met. Anyhow, he DEPReSSED me with all of these issues with my A/C compressor and motor....well, like the other reviewer on here...I went to get a second opinion and founf NOTHING wrong with it....it just needed to be charged. Its been several months now and I have NO LEAKS or problems with my A/C.....LIARS.....so if you go here, be careful and if possible, get a second opinion. read more

I got home this morning at 3:00 am in the cab of a tow truck due to the sloppy work of these people. When having some work done by these people they had to remove the alternator. Well they didn't tighten down the positive lead and thus my car died in the middle of nowhere and I had to call for a ride. The termanal was so loose that it ruined the conection on the altenator causing me to need a new one. In the end it cost me $208 for the tow, and $225 for a new altenator (I put it on myself). I will never use these people again. Do yourself a favor and stay the hell away from this shop. They are always trying to get you to have work done that you don't need, and when they do the work they can't tighted the damn connections. Stay away.....far away. read more
