The falafel and hummus were great, the fattoush was no good at all. Definitely very pricey for lebanese food but very cute and a nice spot in the area.
I came here with a last minute reso I made earlier in the day and got the chef's table seating which was really cool! I would absolutely come back to try the short rib hummus and falafel! Everything ordered was shared: Mushroom hummus (10/10) delicious Fattoush salad (9/10 really refreshing) Patata harra (9/10 great flavor but I thought they'd be crispier) Monkfish kebab (8/10 the monkfish melted in your mouth but a little spicier than expected) Knafeh dessert (9/10 I wish it was a little crispier but delish!) Orange blossom donuts (8/10 also really good but a little too sweet!)
So happy we stumbled into Boutros! Authentic Lebanese. Vibes were great. Drinks and food were delicious. Will definitely be visiting again!'
Absolutely loved Boutros! Mediterranean inspired, modern dishes, cozy ambience, and great service. The golden beets and the steak kebab with fennel were outstanding, and the hummus is superb with the most amazing, light & fluffy pita. Highly recommend to try the orange blossom ice cream as dessert - such a delicate flavor and not at all too sweet. Really wanted to try their take on falafel - though unfortunately they are not gluten free.
The hummus was so smooth and umami with truffle esque flavors; the Brussels sprouts were crispy sweet spicy; the lamb was tender and great with the fresh pita bread and tahini We sat at the chefs counter, which was such a special experience!
This place is amazing, the food was all hits, no misses. I cant wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. Service and vibes were off the charts as well! 100/10 spot head over and try everything!
A place I truly love in my neighborhood. Contemporary twists on classic Lebanese fare - the short rib hummus is my absolute favorite style of hummus bil lahme in the area and the challah french toast with pistachio creme is phenomenal. Also, I absolutely love that they have an extensive list of wines from Lebanon and Palestine. Service was also fantastic - everyone was so kind, attentive, and receptive. A fantastic place for a weekend brunch or casual dinner.
Best place I had dinner during a week long nyc trip! The must haves are pictured: pita (so warm, fresh, and tasted like mini pillows), falafel (surprisingly creamy for being deep fried) and (not pictured) labneh.
Overall, we got a lot of great items for four people; however, the quantity was underwhelming for the price, other than for the half chicken, which pleasantly surprised us with a large portion, and the octopus kebab. If we got more food (like double the quantity for some items), it might have been a five. For dips, we got the Short Rib Shawarma Hummus (4.5/5) and Miso Baba Ganoush (4.5/5). The short rib hummus was really smooth, and the short rib was cooked well. The miso baba ganoush had a really unique flavor profile, which I loved. The pita was nice and fluffy (4.5/5), but you only get one bigger one per order, which isn't really enough for the dips, and they didn't give you a ton of each dip. You can get more pita for $4/pita, but this really feels a bit much, especially since the dips were already $19 and $22. For other appetizers and mains, we got the Falafel Gougéres (4.5/5), Bulgur Fried Rice (4/5), octopus kebab (4.75/5), and half roasted chicken (4.5/5). The falafel was unique; it had a hummus like green paste on the inside, which was great. The exterior was also nice and crunchy; however, it only came with five small pieces. The bulgur fried rice was good but insanely overpriced; it was about a cup and a half of grains for $20, but it still had a good flavor. The octopus was excellent; it was nice and crunchy and not chewy like almost every other octopus I've had before. The potato and red pepper puree complimented it well and was also delicious itself. The chicken was also good and a pretty massive portion. The amount of herbs and sauce on top is a little excessive but easy to brush off, and they have a good flavor which compliments the chicken well. The chicken has nice seared skin with a moist interior, which was very well executed. Overall, the octopus kebab was my favorite! It was a decent amount of food, the chicken was a ton of food, but everything else was smaller than anticipated, especially for the price, although everything was good. The service was great (4.5/5); our waiter was nice and knowledgeable. The interior of the restaurant is nice and not too loud (4/5).
Boutros is our go-to date spot in Brooklyn. The ambiance is so chill (the restaurant has great vibes). All of the food is homemade and fresh. The short rib hummus is a staple each time we go, it's so filling and perfect. I didn't get pics this round but the pita served with it is so fluffy, and upgrading to the za'atar pita was delightfully flavorful. The lemon pancakes brunch special bursted with lemon flavor, which I loved (lemon both in the pancake batter and topped with lemon zest ). My partner said the bulgur fried rice was the best fried rice they ever had. Drinks-wise, my partner adored the berry smash. I opted for the pomegranate mojito - a dry cocktail that had such delightful flavors. Service was friendly and kind, and they were very mindful of allergies for my partner. We love Boutros, and can't wait to come back!
Love this place. Ambiance and food were great. Not too far from downtown BK. Started our meal with the Caesar salad and beef hummus. The provided pita bread was fresh out the oven. I wouldnt recommend the ceasar salad as it was just a few pieces of lettuce with dressing. Hardly worth it. We also tried the octopus kabob and the lamb-shank which were fantastic. I will be a repeat customer since there were so many other things to try on the menu.
Had a quick dinner with my sister recently. The restaurant is near Downtown Brooklyn, featuring Middle eastern dishes, and I think its vibe is good for drinking and dating. A bit pricy. Food menu was not large. We tried their Brussels sprouts, Bulgur fried rice and grilled Monkfish. The Brussels sprouts were dressed with tahini butter and cranberries, which gave it a sweet-sour flavor. I never had such Brussels sprouts before but it was good. The Bulgur fried rice was similar to the Asian egg fried rice, but they added sausage and was cooked with pomegranate soy sauce! Also very interesting. The monkfish was a bit disappointing because it came at room temperature which indicated that it was cooked much earlier before served to me so I asked the bartender to heat it up for me. The restaurant barges $4 for each pita--a little expensive--but their homemade pita tasted amazing. Soft, airy, slightly chewy. Even my sister who rarely have pita ate 3/4
Somehow stumbled onto the best hummus I've had in the city. The short ribs and the pickled onions on the hummus tasted so great and along with the pita bread (also the best I've had), this by itself is honestly a meal. The baba ganoush was ok but was pretty salty, maybe because of the miso, and I prefer the more traditional one over this Asian take. The chicken shawarma was also great. So flavorful, but again a little salty.

It was our second visit and they didn't disappoint! Our last visit was for dinner and this time we went for lunch to try their challah French toast. First of all, the portion was HUGE - two thick slabs of bread. They were toasted well on the outside and perfectly moist on the inside. The pistachio butter was very flavorful and unique. The beef shawarma sandwich my partner ordered was also delicious. The server was friendly and attentive just like the last time. Highly recommend this place! read more

Omg the best meal I had in a long time!! Everything was ridiculously delicious. My friend and I split 2 small plate and 1 large plate and it was plenty for the two of us. Highly recommend everything we got!! I could have eaten the entire Short Rib Shawarma Hummus myself, it was so good! The Pork Shank Al Pastor was the best meat I've had at a restaurant in long time and it went so well with the fried rice. I also had their freshly pressed ginger ale and it was great! Can't wait to go back! read more
Service: The pair of us were seated quickly on a Saturday brunch time. Once seated, the service was relatively slow and we spent a while before putting in our order, waiting for our order, and especially waiting for the check. We had to pop inside to get our check processed so we could leave. Food: We ordered the labneh, avocado toast, and arayas. The labneh was standard. The arayas had a good peppery kick but otherwise a bit bland. My dining partner enjoyed the avocado toast. Ambience: It was very busy with a youthful crowd. There was a growing line after we had seated. Value: It seemed fair pricing for the quality and the area, but an otherwise average experience. I would recommend picking another option for brunch if you have the ability, but it was nice to be able to walk in without a reservation. read more

It's a nice restaurant in Brooklyn area , they have outdoor seating space , their indoor isn't too big but nicely designed and organized, kinda of crowded so reservation is needed, Menu seems limited but has enough for everyone's liking A Lebanese restaurant with unique modern food combination from multiple traditions and great taste starting from the freshly baked pita bread to the shawarma to the shakshuka to the labne .... Finishing with homemade unbelievably delicious Kanafe (Best of the Best) Recommended read more
Yummy dinner at @boutrosbk on a chill evening! Every dish of this middle eastern inspired cuisine restaurant tasted really great, but to be very honest there wasn't one that particularly stood out to me. The portion isn't big so you'll have to order a few dishes for a meal for the group. Overall not necessarily breathtaking but a pleasant experience. read more

Hands down one of the best eating experiences I've had in a while . It was pretty empty when we came and that was nice . The decor is beautiful and simple . I had the homemade ginger ale and we had the Miso Baba Ganoush and the mushroom hummus . I really thought both was sooooo beautifully flavored and the pita bread ,the pita bread was so warm it was so gooood omg lol. My favorite was the mushroom hummus . It had a slight sweetness to it . I enjoyed both so very much . We also had the Fluke Crud which was so interesting and the falafel was the smoothest ever and perfect crunchy exterior . Our server was super attentive and kind and I just really loved this place . And I would recommend getting like 4 to 5 things on the menu and sharing it . Delicious delicious delicious . I will for sure be back ! And the price range is very decent for the high quality food you're getting . Keep doing your thanggggg read more
Went for a drink and a snack and I would go back, food is modern middle-Eastern cuisine. Tried the CLOUD9 and MIELE-O YELLOW cocktails. As appetizers the MISO BABA GANOUSH is amazing and the FALAFEL GOUGERES is good too. A bit pricey if I had to point out something. read more
Came here for a dinner with friend because they have an outdoor seating area. I dont really have much to say about the dish since it is just really average. I ordered the shishito peppers with crispy noodles and the white crispy thing on top of the pepper definitely was not what I expected as noodles. Anyways, the peppers are pretty spicy and the sauce is creamy and sweet so it kind of neutralized the spicy taste. However, i will put a big question mark if it is worth $15 just for a plate of peppers The other thing is that there was only one waitress lady and there are a lot of customers so we also waited long to make the payment or even to get her attention but overall still tolerable. I am not sure if I will want to come back again. read more

FOUR STARS for the food. I frequently eat there. But why do they think they can have the lights on outside on a sunny day? We live in a Climate Emergency. Act like it. I told 2 waiters to please turn the lights off. It seems they did not know how to do it. Figure it out, please. read more

Delicious and flavorful middle eastern staples done with small unique twists. Loved the mushroom hummus and the squash. The kibbeh had a bit of a soft texture, the shakshuka was more sauce- and less egg-based, and the shawarma was heavy on the beets. Overall a good visit, have recommended it to others and would return after seeing the menu turn over in time with new items to try. read more

The short rib hummus is to die for, the falafel is also a must order, I've never had anything like it before! We ordered the duck as an entree to share and were surprised as to how large the portion was, enough for three hungry girls to share and then some. Can't wait to come back! read more

We visited Boutros for the first time, for brunch with some family, and everyone really liked this place, there were 5 of us total. The room is pretty, and plenty of outdoor seating on a warm fall day. The menu is full of yummy options. I ordered the avocado humus toast topped with a fried egg (pictured) and when it arrived, it was impressive both visually and in size. I happily shared some. It was delicious and filling. 2 of our party ordered the short rib shawarma sando, it too was a large portion and tasty. Staff was friendly and attentive. The labineh and humus dishes also get high marks. We were dining with 2 native middle easterners, all approved of the experience. I will definitely return soon. read more
Amazing. I came here 6/23 to celebrate my boyfriends birthday and it was well worth it. We had eaten a bit before so we just jumped straight to the entree. I ordered the chicken and my boyfriend ordered the lamb shoulder. The flavors were so rich and fresh. I would absolutely recommend. The ambiance is dim lit but casual. You can dress up if you'd like or be completely casual. read more

So happy to have found this amazing place so close to my apartment. The restaurant boasts a cute, modern interior that makes you feel like you're really eating mediterranean. I went for brunch, so I can't attest to the lunch and dinner menus, but if they're anything like the brunch menu, I know you're in for a treat. The service was great and they even have the option of paying from your phone, which I absolutely loved. The french toast was amazing, and it came with this pistachio ricotta that was fabulous. My partner had the chicken sando and wanted me to mention that the sandwich was spicy! I cannot wait to go back to this restaurant with more friends, and I'm so happy it's within such close walking distance to my apartment. read more

We went back to Boutros this past week with some friends and this time we ordered: Miso baba ganoush: it was good and the Japanese flair was unique Short rib shawarma hummus: I couldn't taste the short rib at all, the best thing for me of the night was the pita bread that came with all of their dips Octopus skewers: small portion and overpriced Hen of the woods: my favorite dish of the night, the miso sauce that came with the mushrooms was amazing, full of umami Pork shank Al pastor: pretty disappointing, I wish the sauce was a bit more complex and the tortillas that came with it were just hard and bland, I would have loved to trade it with their homemade pita instead Knafeh: my first time trying this dessert, I thought the flavors were good but wished the cheese inside was a bit warmer and softer Lebanese donuts: tasted like your average fried donut, again nothing special Cocktails: we enjoyed the thistle and smoke cocktail, a very Smokey but well balanced drink. The Paloma was average Overall: some decent options in a pinch but a bit overpriced for the portions and innovation of flavors read more

Boutros is amazing!!! I'm not usually the biggest brunch fan because I find the the food to generally be mediocre. Boutros is the exception. Everything is incredible. Don't miss out on the French toast and the carrot dip. read more
I was looking forward to having dinner here - I had heard so many good things about it. But perhaps the night I decided to come in - it wasn't to sharp! We ordered the hummus as an appetizer and it took forever to get to us only to realize, after our entre came in, that the waitress had forgotten about it (or she misunderstood as she later mentioned). For entres we ordered the fish and the Skewers. My beef skewers (two cubes per skewer - wish it was at least 3) were a bit fatty. My girlfriend's fish was tiny and the base sauce under it was super salty...the price we paid for both meals wasn't on the easy side - I would comfortably say their prices are too high for their food. The actual interior design of restaurant is exquisite! Has an industrial look with many warm touches - fell in love with the spot - very beautiful and trendy. Great atmosphere! read more
Downtown Brooklyn's Middle Eastern/ American fusion restaurant. Great location for a marriage of where culture meets food. Boutros is located next the famous Damascus Bakery and Sahadi gourmet market. The famous Atlantic Ave location is great for walking off such a delicious meal. We shared a lot of appetizers and saved room for dessert. Worth a second a visit for Brunch. Try to get a seat with a view of the kitchen at the chefs table. Exotic cocktails, wine and beer and don't forget after dinner drink of Lebanese liquor Arak. read more

Everything from the food, atmosphere the service was top notch! The appetizer I had hummus with meat, a traditional middle eastern delicacy, it was delicious! Homemade fresh pita that came on its own plate was soft and hot. For an entree I had the octopus dish. It was filling and full of flavor complimented with ingredients that tied it all together. The aesthetics were pleasant and the staff were great, different faces checking in. I had a sweet with my coffee earlier so I passed on the dessert. Definitely a must try place for authentic food with a chef's touch. read more
Came here for brunch and nervously ordered the Avocado Toast, worried that my $20 would go towards some measly bread crumbs and watered down green mush -- I was delighted to have my worries proved unnecessary! SUCH GOOD AVO TOAST !! Each slice was spread with generous amounts of avocado mixed in with the legume/bean-based trimmings. My favorite part of the dish was the crispy chickpeas! In general, really impressed with how this savory, vegetarian breakfast option was both refreshing and filling. My friends ordered Challah French Toast and Shakshuka. Loved the CFT as a sweet option, and as someone who doesn't usually like sweets, the ricotta and pistachio provided excellent balance against the syrup. If I were to rank the three dishes, I'd say 1. Avo Toast, 2. CFT, and 3. Shakshuka -- but all were wonderful! You can see their New American-Middle Eastern fusion in their interior design, earthy industrial with a beautiful mosaic tile floor. Lots of dark wood, black iron, slate, and moss/lichen. We spent some time trying to figure out if the roped, light fixtures were solely for aesthetic or were also functional (turns out, also functional - how lovely!) Not at all busy on a Saturday morning for what a gem of a place this is! read more
It's fitting that Chef Allen Dabagh opened his first restaurant on this stretch of Atlantic. The Middle Eastern flavors from his heritage blended with New American cookery is a perfect representation of the amazing (if bougie) neighborhoods of Cobble Hill and Brooklyn Heights, bisected by a street that gives us Sahadi's, Damascus Bakery and more. The space itself is beautiful. From the living wall behind the bar, to the chef's counter where you can watch the efficient expediting of everything you're about to eat, there isn't a bad seat in the house. The menu is divided into appetizers, vegetables, pizzas, and mains. I've yet to try the pizza (although the crust looked superb as one walked by, and the za'atar sprinkled bread they bake fresh for each table speaks to the quality of that 760 degree oven), but every other section sports at least a few winners. Among the starters, the fluke crudo had heat and balance, in addition to being easy on the eyes. The foie gras fritters are foie gras fritters (can't be bad), and although I would've liked a bit more of the soujouk (think Middle Eastern chorizo), the bulgur fried rice was tasty as well. That last dish seems out of place as a starter; it's a large portion and it doesn't feel like an appetizer. With more soujouk added and a fried egg on top (as opposed to scrambled and mixed in as it is) it would make it a perfect dish to start your day (I believe it's on the menu of their recently launched brunch, so there's that). In fact, since we ordered too much, I took it home and did just that, and it was phenomenal. The mains are well-cooked, well-balanced, and tied together by incredible sauce work. The brown sauce with the beef is something I could just drink as my meal, and the caramel that comes with the pork chop ties the entire dish together. I appreciate the way the flavors are layered as well; the perfectly tender beef arrives with both charred stalks of broccoli, and also a broccoli puree. The effect is stunning, and it's my favorite dish thus far. Similarly (and shockingly), the peas were the most memorable aspect of our most recent meal. With charred whole peas, pea pods, and a puree on the sides, it all came together with the green almonds added in a final flourish, and it made me so happy that it (1) tasted amazing and (2) shows that vegetables aren't an afterthought at all. All in all, an excellent addition to the neighborhood, and I plan to keep coming back. read more
