We just planned and had our birthday party for our 8 year old Son here.
As contrary to the other reviews, our experiences were a little different.
I am not sure if the establishment mixes public kids with the birthday parties, but we had a mix of about 24 kids and parents, and we were the ONLY people in the place. I really liked this.
Before the party, we received a lot of phone calls from the staff of BounceU, asking us about the details we needed, what kind of cake, what kind of picture on the cake, what kind of food we wanted, etc.
We wasn't sure of the exact # of kids that would be attending, but the staff still did a superb job. We came here, on the recommendation of a friend, otherwise, we would have never known about this place.
But that is probably what made it special, the entire lot of our kids, 24 in total had Never visited a BounceU before. This was their first experience, so it was all new to them. To me, this was refreshing because of the usual birthday parties we've been to (movies, bowling, chuckie chesses, etc). EVERY single kid was excited.
Before the party started, the staff called and asked if we wanted a DJ and Cosmic Night. Although, a little more money, I HIGHLY HIGHLY encourage you to choose to get the DJ. They have a LIVE mixing DJ playing the latest music the kids love, and the kids LOVE it. If you opt out of the DJ, there will be no loud music, and remember, this is a 2 hour event. Some of Parents were loving it, because they loved the music also. Also, I HIGHLY recommend you get COSMIC, which is when they TURN OFF THE LIGHTS in Both of the Bounce U play sections, and there is are Disco light effects from the ceiling, and throughout the slides, etc. It really mixes well with the DJ, and added to the enjoyment of the Kids. If you opt out of the Cosmic, they leave the lights on, and everyone is playing in bright lights. I felt the DJ+Cosmic added more of a party atmosphere. Also, if you get DJ+Cosmic, the DJ gives out Party Favors and gets neon lights.
The staff of this place was VERY attentive, and they had a TON of Energy, motivating the kids with pep talks and getting them ready for action. The DJ also was involved with games, and was attentive to kids.
What was unique was that the staff of UBounce Paramus was young, but they all was very professional to the kids, always helped them, (for exampling, some younger ones up the slide stairs), and I noticed they always seem to pay attention to the kids when they had a question. They also knew exactly what they were doing, each step of the way, no delays.
The place is divided into 3 areas.
The first is a play area with several types of inflatables (the kids seem to love the huge slide the most) in this first section. The kids spend time here for 45 mins or so.
Then they are moved to the second area, with more different attractions for another 45 mins or so.
This keeps it fresh for the kids, and they loved it. We had a mix of 5-13 year olds.
There are benches scattered throughout for the parents to sit and watch (nice), there are push tot toys scattered throughout for infants and toddlers (younger sisters and brothers), and when the kids are thirsty, there are water fountains also.
Contrary to what another reviewer wrote, when we got to the cake/food room, it was actually very clean. The floors were clean etc. The only complaint I have was that the room was full of kids, and it was a little warm on the hot day. I did notice that the thermostat on the wall (locked) had a temperature setting of 73 on it, so I am not exactly sure of the circumstances.
We had arrange for the BounceU to have Pizza for the kids, an Ice Cream Cake with an Unique picture, Mixed Sandwiches for the parents (at added cost), chicken fingers, and Penne Pasta for the Parents (at added cost). They also included cold soda and water for the patrons. The food was actually very good. The pizza is cheap to add on, but if you add on sandwiches, and pasta like we did, it can get expensive. I would review what you wish to add with the establishment. My wife and I usually like our parents and kids to have a good time, so we spend the extra money. You can probably get by with Cake and Pizza for the kids, the other food is probably for the parents (do you want to feed them, thats your choice, kids wont know the difference) - although some of the kids did have pasta and chicken fingers.
I wont talk about prices here, as they may change the pricing at any time, or offer discounts, so it is best to call them with your arrangements. But we had a lot of add ons, (food, DJ, Cosmic, etc) and that was half of our bill. The price is also based of amount of kids you will expect to attend.
I highly recommend this place for an unique experience. I recommend that you put an earlier time on your invites, since there is a sign in process, and this place starts on t read more
