I'm going to drop a big recommendation here but also going to give a critical review. If you're trying to be elite, then you get the elite review! Firstly at 95 euro for the omnivore, BouBou's is a must. You're going to get a true Michelin experience that would cost you 2x at least in the states. You'll get a 2-3 hour amazing culinary experience here and I urge you to splurge and treat yourself. There were four dishes that absolutely blew our faces off. The highlights were the Sweet Potato soup was a flavor explosion like I've never experienced and that alone was worth the price of admission. The first app was unreal as well, the bread was unmatched, and the hamachi dish was another huge highlight. Like with many fixed menu places though, the next two dishes that were more like your "mains", the taste buds lost luster. The first was a fish with foam and yada yada, that all together was pretty mediocre. Next one a small little lamb bite cooked in some fat that I don't remember (sorry!) which was good not great. It's something maybe I just don't understand about the life, but I absolutely love ab and you cannot beat a perfectly cooked chop or rack. Some things you maybe can't elevate and actually lose when you try? Keep it simple! For that reason I'm rating 4.5 closer to 4 than 5. For the price and prestige I expect all dishes to hit 9/10 at least. In this case 10/10, 7000/10, 13/10, 7/10, 8/10. The desserts subsequently were definitely elite and finished off the meal perfectly. I also wouldn't recommend the wine pairing. 65 euros for 5 pours, in which you'll undoubtedly get at 1 or more wines you could've probably lived without. I've had pairing that truly brought the experience to a whole nother level and I didn't feel it here. The somm is awesome here and you'll get the same experience with her going ala carte and will get better value. But you do you! Bottom line, go here and don't think twice.

This may be one of the best meals I've ever had. It's the most expensive meal we had in Europe, but it was so incredible! Each course was served expertly, and the staff was great at communicating what and how we were eating each course. I did the carte Blanche wine pairing, and it was worth every penny. I did leave with a major crush on the sommelier - so just know she's so helpful and amazing at describing each wine! Great romantic experience - we walked to the restaurant and it was an amazing way to experience the hills of Lisbon!

The hamachi with ponzu sauce was delightful

What a delightful restaurant. It is much more than just a delicious meal, it is an amazing experience. The restaurant is on a quiet street in the Principe Real neighborhood. The physical space is very inviting. It is a cozy and intimate space with delightful decor that makes you feel like you are eating in an outdoor garden. It is casual yet elegant. While I saw some reviews that staff the staff is not attentive, we found just the opposite to be true. The staff to patron ratio is very high and they were super pleasant, friendly and attentive from greeting at the door to the end of the meal. They serve either a seven or ten course tasting menu. We opted for the 7 course meal without wine pairing but the sommelier was so helpful and knowledgeable to help us picked out from a few great options to pair with our dishes. Eta v course was a beautiful blend of tastes and textures and a visual treat (especially the sardine, which was a piece of art and delicious). The wines paired perfectly with the food. The staff explained each dish as it came. As I mentioned earlier, this is an experience, not just a meal. The 7 course tasting menu took over 2 hours to serve, which was the right pace. The staff was extremely attentive throughout. If you are looking for a unique, enjoyable dining experience, this is the place to go.

The front bar, and/or bartender is amazing, food amazing, patrons amazing, wine cave amazing, head chef amazing. Many stories to tell, made friends with the bar tender, chef, and made forever friends with some patrons whom we saw driving down the freeway with the top done. Simply a special place that makes spectacular nights!

This spot was only few steps from our Air B&B. We feel so lucky we found it. Michelin recommended. There are two types of tasting menus. $85 vegetarian & $95 for the meat. $65 for wine pairing. I feel sad I forgot sommeliers name, but she was AMAZING. The whole team seems knowledgeable, caring and involved. Dishes came out in perfect timing and the ambiance is superb. This spot is not to be missed.

This place is pricey but so worth it! It is a chefs choice -7 course meal and it was amazing! The inside of the restaurant is beautiful. The service was exceptional!

Amazing dinner with delicious grilled octopus and ginormous shrimp! I recommend the kitchen table but the back room is also cute. You can't go wrong with this place. Highly recommend!

Really good spot that my wife and I stopped and ate dinner at on our anniversary. You can book reservations on open table which is great. They had live music in the back seating area and it was really nice.

Recommended by a friend, and we are amazed by this lovely place. Food are awesome and we love every dish there! Service level was extremely high - our friends arrived late and the server saw it and immediately offered us to keep the octopus warm in the oven. We really appreciate how prompt the service was.

We had reservations for a party of 2 on a Saturday at 6 PM. When you check in, they give you a slip of paper which has a QR code on it for you to access the menu later, and we were promptly seated upstairs. The menu is conveniently available in several languages (you select your language at the bottom of the main menu page). We were at a long table for 6, with us sitting on the inside and another couple sitting at the end, and the table settings in between us were cleared, so it didn't feel like we were on top of one another. I appreciated that the server gave recommendations that would be good for two people. We went with most of his recommendations (shrimps on garlic sauce (it's labeled as spicy, but it's really not), clams on garlic, tiger prawns grilled on bed of salt) and added some of our own (razor clams and lobster roll). All the seafood tasted fresh, bursting with flavor from the buttery garlic sauce, which we sopped up with garlic bread. The bread is brought to the table when you first get seated. It's not free, which I was aware of, but I knew it would go well with the dishes we ordered. The razor clams were juicy and sweet. The lobster roll was good, but not something I would order again when there's so many other fantastic seafood choices. I usually don't drink beer, but felt that it was appropriate since we were at a cervejaria, so I ordered a bottle of Sagres Bohemia. It went perfectly with the seafood. My SO, who doesn't drink alcohol, got peach iced tea. I wanted to get the prego sandwich for dessert, but my SO was pretty much full at that point, so I ordered a tarte whisky and a cappuccino for myself. The whisky ice cream layer in the tarte was nice and refreshing. I was shocked when we got the bill and it came out to less than 50€. This meal would have cost so much more in the US. You pay via tablet at the end and I left a generous tip in appreciation of the wonderful meal and service. They get you in and out of there quick, but it never felt like we were being rushed out. I highly recommend this spot if you are looking for some fresh, delicious seafood in Lisbon.

My favorites had to be the giant tiger prawn, razor clams, and the crab head, but everything was tasted good and the seafood tasted fresh. Would recommend!

Pastries de Bacalhau - the crust was not brown enough. May be longer time. The stuffing was flavorful but it's more the cod taste than the flavored mash potatoes which I prefer. I actually prefer the other local restaurant I tried the night before better. Caldo Verde - The potatoe part of the soup is great. Perfect viscosity but the flavor is not. It wasn't salty enough but more importantly is the flavor of the veggies and the spicy sausage they supposed to use that makes the soup taste different. Grilled giant pawns - The flavor of the prawns is not as intense as expected and hope to be. The squid ink pasta also lacked of flavor. That's disappointing. With the prawns, they should at least use the prawn shell to make sauce for the pastas. The pasta was tasteless, didn't even use enough garlic and olive oil to flavor it up. Seafood rice - Another disappointment. They used fish, small mussels and little bit of shrimp pieces along with some bigger whole shrimps and mussels. However, the rice was lack of the true seafood flavor that made from shell fish. They also added cilantro which overwhelmed the whatever left of seafood flavor. The lemonade was not a sweet lemonade but sour. Fyi. It's not fair we just went to another restaurant in the neighborhood and everything was so much better but people should know.

Table seating was by the front and along one wall with the rest at the bar that dominated the middle of the restaurant. Menu was almost the same with a great selection of seafood ranging from tacos, ceviche appetizers to pasta, fish and shellfish entrees with many Asian flavors. The Peruvian ceviche was very nice with thin slices of fish, radish and red onions. The corn nuts added a nice crunch. It also came with a small bowl of toasted crostini chips. The cuttlefish tacos were delicious.. Big chunks of cuttlefish topped with tomatoes and placed on a small tortilla with a white sauce. We actually ordered just one but comped a pair. Sea bass was the best with its crunchy pan fried skin side topped with nori and the moist fish went perfectly with the barley and miso sauce combination. Even the bok choy was cooked well. The squid ink pasta had a mild sauce but scallops were nicely seared. At the end the owner offered us a shot of ginja to try for our first time. It was sweet but at least lower in alcohol,16%. Another great meal and service even two years later. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting some seafood here in Lisbon.

The music selection immediately gave us a taste of home, with lively R&B playing in the background. The bar wasn't crowded, but there were enough guests enjoying food, drinks, and conversation to create a warm, energetic vibe. Our drinks arrived quickly, and the staff remained attentive, friendly, and welcoming throughout the evening. The service was honestly the highlight of our visit. The shrimp tacos were very fresh...perhaps a little too fresh for my preference. The shrimp had not been fully deveined, so I ended up cleaning them myself before eating. As someone who only eats deveined shrimp and fish, that was disappointing. The codfish entrée was an interesting experience. The cod itself was delicious and fried to perfection with a crisp exterior and flaky interior. Unfortunately, the wasabi mashed potatoes weren't a good match for my palate and overpowered the dish for me. My partner enjoyed the vegetables that accompanied his meal, but he found the sea bass somewhat underwhelming and not particularly memorable. For two people, including food and drinks, our bill came to about €89, which I felt was a moderate price for Lisbon. While the food experience wasn't the strongest part of our visit, Peixola is still a great place to relax, enjoy a drink, listen to good music, and spend time with friends or a partner. The outstanding staff and inviting atmosphere are what would bring me back, even though the food itself left us wanting a bit more.
