When we got in our accident, I had the car towed to Boston Body Works after hours not knowing anything about them (except that they were on our insurance company's list of "approved vendors"). The tow truck left the car out front, and I put an envelope with a note and the key into into a dropbox. But I called the next morning -- and someone answered (every time I called them, someone answered -- no messages, no wait times) and told me I was all set. And truly, I was. They handled the insurance, they ordered the parts, they answered every question I had, they even detailed the car inside and out before I picked it up. I had my vehicle repaired at Boston Body Works (BBW). The actual repair was flawless. However, when I was less than a mile from the shop I noticed my driver's side mirror was damaged . Due to a time constraint and Boston traffic, I was unable to return to the shop. Instead, I called and explained the situation, that the mirror had been damaged while the vehicle was in their possession. The immediate response was 'Impossible'! Later that day I emailed them (and my insurance company) a couple of pictures, but never received a response from BBW. When I was able to go back to the shop, I was told that they wouldn't except responsibility for the damage! I ended up buying a new mirror for less than $50 and had it installed (while I waited less than 20 minutes) by another auto body shop for $30. So for that (less $100), I'm giving a 3-star review as well as a 'Buyer Beware' warning that potential customers should take comprehensive pictures of their auto before leaving it with this company. read more

I do not understand these positive reviews. My experience was the exact opposite and I am still unhappy with the work that was done to my car. I took my 2015 Acura TLX to Boston Body Works mainly because they were conveniently located within a reasonable walking distance to my home. I could drop the car off and just walk back without having to worry about alternate transportation. I also figured that, knowing I lived in the neighborhood, they would do good work to develop trust and gain a new lifetime customer. I would be mistaken. My car was sideswiped while parked, so this was an insurance claim where I had to pay the deductible. Several things to note about my experience: 1) I was told the car would be done within 1 week (I dropped off on a Saturday morning and was told I'd have it back by the end of the work week). The reality was that Boston Body Works had my car for 13 days, and only gave it back (work incomplete) when I demanded that they finish it and deliver it to me. 2) A rubber door seal was not reinstalled after the repair was made. Additionally, the inside of the door where paint work was done as very rough. The attention to detail here is jut completely absent. I brought the car back the morning after I picked it up and they reinstalled the door seal. I also made note of item #3 at this time. 3) When they gave the car back to me the first time they neglected to reinstall the clear plastic film that protects the mirror. I had to bring the car back a few days later to have this installed. 4) Both times I picked up my car were after business hours. I will say that, in that respect, this business was accommodating. However, a few days after picking up the car the second time, I was parked directly under a street lamp and could see every single scratch that has been filled in on the driver and passenger doors. It was like they took a paint pen, filled in each line, and then clear coated over it. I also noticed that the scratches on the front passenger door handle had not been repaired. After later inspecting the repair more closely, you can see a wave in the door. The car was not dented in the accident, so this imperfection is a result of the repair. 5) The first time I picked up the car, I was told that insurance had not made the payment, however I received notification the day after I dropped the car off that payment had been issued to the repair shop. That was 12 days before I tried to pick up my vehicle. I was still able to get my car after paying the $500 deductible to the shop. This indicated that at best, this shop is disorganized -- and at worst, dishonest. I will not be going back to Boston Body Works to rectify this situation or have them finish any repair. They obviously make a habit of doing a sub-par job or not even completing the entire job, while collecting insurance claims. Based on what I've seen of the door repair to my car, I am inclined to think they repair was done a cheaply as possible and probably incorrectly. I'll likely have to pay out of pocket at another, more reputable shop, to have these repairs done correctly. It's really unfortunate that businesses waste customers time and money to make a quick buck instead of providing quality work and reliability that ensures repeat customers and customer loyalty. read more

My first mistake was hiring an autobody shop whose hourly labor rate of $60 was $20 more than what my insurance company would pay. I ate the difference and the amount was substantial. My other major complaint was it took so long to get my car serviced. I was promised my car repair would be finished the end of one week and then the goal was early the following week and the work was still not done. Went here because of it being a Geico express location. At first, everything seemed great. Front desk staff were very nice and inspection was very quick. However, I was told many things about the next steps that the shop never followed through with. I was told I'd receive an estimate of repairs 24 hours after drop off. Three days later, I didn't receive anything so I called and was told I'd get a call that day. I didn't and then found out they proceeded with repairs without calling me. Additionally, they incorrectly documented what was and wasn't prior accident damage. Car left the shop almost a week later for a small bumper scrape and they didn't even fix everything that I asked to be fixed. I would never bring a car here again. read more

First: The receptionist was perfect, and the damage was fixed completely! Second and MOST importantly: The owner is a horrible person. He is very verbally combative and confrontational. He got in my face, literally, trying to intimidate me both verbally and physically! He never once apologized for his company's mistakes, nor for calling my names continuously! Customer service is not this man's genes. In fact, I would describe him as a bully, abusive even. When this is the case, chances are his employees aren't happy and do subpar work. That's just reality. Ironically I spoke with one employee who told me twice, the owner is difficult to work with, and it is the workers that feel his wrath with he gets into it with customers, but assured me he also "suffers" with all the stress that comes with owning a business. I told the employee "good, he should!" The owner may or may not read this review, I doubt he cares. He did nothing wrong legally. In the end, he made money. However, I don't have to give him any of my business in the future, and can make sure if anyone asks, I tell them what a horrible person he is! Verbal and physical intimidation is protected up to a point legally, and the owner knows when not to cross the line. That doesn't make him a good businessman, it just makes him an a-hole!!! I found two new scratches that run across the width of the back door of my vehicle, that WERE NOT present when I dropped it off. I believe, the owner had something to do with this. But I have no proof. Very convenient for him. Part of me finds this man so alarmingly unprofessionally and cruel even, I wonder what more I may find wrong with my vehicle in the near future, ironically I have 10,000 mile check-up with my dealer this week, and will be sure to ask for a more in-depth look than usual for anything that needs to be addressed, out of the ordinary wear and tear. Had a GREAT experience. I got new license plates for my car, and the screws on the back plate were completely rusted through and there was no way for me to get them off. I pulled up off the street, and an extremely nice gent stopped what he was working on and came over and helped me get the screws off (not easy!) and then gave me brand new ones and put my plate on for me. Actual job: my car looked as it did with the repair, and better on the inside than when I left it. They repaired old scratches that were not part of the original repair work...and even cleaned up the interior with the addition of new floor mats. I took my Acura ILX here and they did one of the worst jobs in fixing my bumper, they also did not communicate well enough what they were going to do even though I asked a ton of questions before leaving it with them. Whatever they tell you ask them to explain more don't rely on what they say at first. Get a clear idea of what they will do. The paint job or drying process of paint left scratches and I knowledge that but I was told I am wrong and then he proceed to buff it right in front of me, they don't finish the job just half effort it and you get what you get. If he didn't buff it there, there would be scratches still. Also their paint job is really bad not done well or professionally. I would recommend going somewhere else where you will be respected and somewhere that would do a good job. read more

Not long ago, I went in to get the quote and schedule for the car to be repaired while I was traveling. As a South Ender, the location is VERY convenient. The car was dropped off on Wednesday, I flew on Thursday and returned the next Monday to a car that was all fixed. I forgot that they clean the car inside and out. I forgot about the Armor All sparkling interior. The final price was off only slightly from the original quote and that was for a good reason. Their prices seem reasonable given their quality of work. Multiple Quotes? I don't even bother anymore. After some pretty terrible luck with a tow truck royally screwing up my back bumper, we were referred to Boston Body Works due to the relationship with the towing company. After picking up my vehicle from the tow yard we drove straight over to Boston Body Works to have them take a look. From the moment we got there Pat was on top of it. He knew how critical it was for me to have my vehicle back, as its my "mobile office". That day, the parts were ordered. I kid you not, the vehicle was ready less than 48 hours after I dropped it all. Now I understand this may not be typical, but I cannot begin to say how much I appreciated it. They were able to see me the same day, one of the shop employees came right out and fixed my bent license plate and Sergay was very clear on the steps I needed to take to work with my insurance company and to obtain a rental car. They do offer a warranty, but even the lackluster quality of work I didn't want them to touch my car again. The two worst things about the experience: the car had extra scratches on it when we picked it up. Given the way the car was parked when I picked it up, it is almost certain that someone driving by scraped the car. Secondly- I had a iPhone charger in the car that was stolen when I picked it up. Top quality work, completed on time, and very agreeable people to deal with. Dropped the car off on a Mon. morning; had it back looking good as new the following Sat. morning. Easy settling up the bill, and they seem to have interfaced seamlessly with my insurance company as well (actual cost of the work ended up being quite a bit higher than the insurance adjuster's initial estimate).
