SHORT RIB TOSTADA
Mare B.

First time here! Had reservations at 8pm for our party of 6. Love how this place stays open past 9pm, which is considered "late" for South OC standards...LOL. Welcomed by the friendly staff, we were seated as soon as we arrived. Yay! Interior was spacious with plenty of seating! It was packed for a Friday night, as it should be! Great energy with awesome music playing that night. Looking around you could see a lot of people just having fun, relaxing, laughing and catching up with friends after a long week! This is the perfect spot for all that!! Menu is straight forward, which I appreciate with signature cocktails and other libations on one side, and delicious food options on the other! Our drinks were overflowing (yesss!), and the food we ordered were spot on!!! So good! Looked at the hubs and said, "we're so trying happy hour here next time!!" CHEERS and happy eating till next time...

Vibe is fantastic and food is delicious! Hubby and I came here for dinner on Sunday. Parking is structure where you can get validated. Bosscat is American style restaurant with indoor/ourdoor seating. If you are having whiskey don't forget to ask for the whiskey book since they have way more options. Hubby and I both got whiskey flights one scotch and Japanese. For food we shared the mushroom fries, white fish with risotto and apple pie. Mushroom fried (8/10)-slightly too salty but loved how it wasn't overly greasy comes with mayo sauce Fish (9/10)-good portion super flaky risotto was flavorful and creamy Apple pie (10/10) best dish! Crispy apple pie with plenty of ice cream finished that in two min Overall service was fast and incredible food, whiskey flight was a bit pricy so maybe I'll try one full glass next time. Would love to come back for Hh!

12-Hour Braised Short Rib
Edward S.

Upon entering Bosscat, the energetic space is large like a warehouse with high ceilings, a long bar, whiskey room, and a cool lounge. Behind the window to its semi-open kitchen, they are cooking up bougie comfort food. 12-Hour Braised Short Rib: A short rib is a tougher cut of beef that, when cooked correctly, yields a wondrous texture and depth of beefy flavor. At Bosscat, they slowly braise the short rib for 12 hours. The short rib is presented on the dish as a glazed cube. Most of the fall apart meat is perfectly cooked with its melted connective tissue and marbling creating rich flavors and juicy textures. However, one side is rather dry with stringy muscle fibers. The black pepper sauce is sticky, sweet, and savory. The fried onions are thin and extra crispy, great for sopping up the sauce. The green beans are fresh and crunchy. Parking: The restaurant validates three hours at the parking garage.

Overall, a great experience! There was no wait time, the service was fast, and the meats were cooked well. I found the cocktail to be slightly too sweet for my taste, but it was still very good (fragrant and well-balanced). The short ribs were tender and soft, cooked in a perfectly savory sauce with a hint of sweetness, and served over smooth mashed potatoes. The steak was also cooked and seasoned well. We all loved the maple pecan Brussels sprouts. I often find this dish to be overly oily or sweet, but this one was done very well. The Brussels sprouts were well-seasoned with the perfect hint of sweetness and cooked perfectly, not too soft or too crunchy. I will say that the restaurant's lighting was excessively dark. I don't mind dim lighting for ambiance, but it was so dark that I had to lean in close to my food and squint to see it clearly, which felt a bit excessive. Additionally, the green beans were slightly too old and fibrous, although they were cooked well. This was a shame because if they had used younger, fresher green beans, it would have elevated the dish and paired much better with the well-prepared meat. Overall great experience and would definitely come back! :)

Amazing service and staff, very attentive! Drinks were good, and along with the food, but my Bosscat Burger was falling apart bread wise. Huge portions came here during lunch break.

With nearly 6k reviews and a 4.3 average rating, Bosscat Kitchen & Libations is definitely one of the most popular restaurants in the area. We were super curious to check it out. To eat, we ordered the 12-hour beef short rib ($38), bourbon butter chicken ($26), and maple buttered brussels ($14). To drink, I had a couple Stone hazys ($9 each). While I was impressed by the short rib, unfortunately the chicken was a bit dry. Service was good, the decor was great, and the ambiance was lively. This restaurant is on the louder side, so if you're looking for somewhere intimate and quiet, this might not be your best option. I would not be opposed to coming back, though I don't think I would go out of my way to do so.

PORTOBELLO MUSHROOOM 'FRIES'

The last time I dined at Bosscat was at their old location and I'll have to say I was not disappointed. Vibes: 9/10 I came here with some friends to celebrate my birthday and it was the perfect ambiance. Came at 7pm. The cutest decor, dim, upbeat music playing in the background but not obnoxiously loud you can't hear each other speak. I mean, I guess that didn't matter too much since we a loud group anyway . You can sit inside or outside so since our voices tend to soar, we opted for the patio and weather was perfect. For my girlies out there trying to find a cute place to celebrate with plenty photo ops , you won't regret it here. Food: we had a nice selection of plates and the menu offers something for everyone. Everything was nicely plated as well! Portobello mushroom fries : 7/10 I love mushrooms so I enjoyed them ! Thick slices, nicely battered and not overwhelming. I wasn't a fan of the dipping chipotle sauce, a bit too creamy. Brussel sprouts: 8/10 tons of flavor!! Way to dress up plain boring brussel sprouts! It was a hit at the table so definitely order this! Pig Candy: 9/10 sheeesh ! Pork belly was cooked to perfection, super tender and the Kim chi nicely complemented it without taking over the taste of the pork belly. And If you don't like Kim chi it's fine because they are tiny tiny slices and the pork belly sits on top of it, so you can still eat it without it. Don't think big slices like you at Korean bbq I would say this was my favorite app! I didn't give it a 10 because I wanted more and the portion was a lil on the smaller side. If you have a party of 5 and ordering other apps, I would recommend 2 orders of this and brussel sprouts! Trust me! Salmon 6.5/ 10: flavor was good, just not amazing. Fish was a little dry , green beans very dry maybe cooked a little too long, tomatoes you can't really mess that up. Coastal fish, burger I didn't taste myself but my friends said it was good! Service was great, all around friendly staff and their drinks were top tier! Overall we had a great time, I loved the apps more than the meal and Bosscat didn't miss the mark!

An updated review! Service fixed this time around. Busy during the holidays or some corporate event but luckily, we didn't feel like a bother. Hailey was nice and quick. Shocking to me considering the last time was so...disappointing. Food is still pretty good and ambiance is still quite cool. We sat inside this time and it's decidedly more....cozy? Decorated, themed? Something like that. Maybe one more with spectacular service and I'll bring it all the way home! They *did* invite me back due to my previous review, which I thought was kind and personal, so I'm glad my friend chose it before i had the chance to bring it up.

Southern food has a lot of charm and Bosscat Kitchen brings this charm to Southern California in the spirit of true Southern cooking. The menu is simple and straightforward. The cooking uses quality ingredients and love and care. I was here on business by myself and was seated immediately and after a quick look at the menu decided on the devil's cut ribeye a steak. It comes with a massive amount of oven, roasted potatoes and green beans. I also got a side salad with it as well which was way too much food for one person. The entire thing was big enough for two normal or maybe even three light eaters. The steak was excellent with a sweet coffee rub with a slightly sweet mapley taste. I could only finish about half and save the rest for the next day. Even though I was full, I decided to try the fried apple pie because it was recommended by many other reviewers. It was actually amazing. It was the dish that was highly recommended by the server and she was not wrong. The ice cream on top was probably House made and the pie itself was like a gourmet version of a hostess apple pie but of course with much higher quality ingredients and it was delicious. The vibe of the restaurant is exciting. It is a fun place to visit with the visual aspects such as the bird cages in the window case. Oak barrels used for aging whiskey are set around and the general vibe was very attractive. Everyone was having a great time and making quite a lot of noise from all the conversation and the music, but people were really enjoying themselves. If you want to have a quiet conversation with someone, this is probably not your place, but if you want a fun time with that kind of vibe, it is an excellent place. I recommend Bosscat highly.

Went to Bosscat Kitchen & Libations for happy hour on a weekday. It is located in an office park near a few other restaurants, a Lifetime fitness, and some office buildings, so it's a good spot for after-work drinks. The restaurant is spacious, with a large bar area and seating both indoors and outside, and the outdoor area has a fire pit. It was a sunny afternoon, we got our cocktails in plastic cups and sat outside. Most of the cocktails were priced between $14 and $16, with a few premium options around $20 made with top-shelf spirits. I ordered the Paloma, which was refreshing and enjoyable, and a few friends tried other cocktails that they also enjoyed. The drinks were prepared quickly, and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout our visit. Overall, Bosscat is a good option if you are in the area, especially if you are meeting a group or looking for a place with comfortable outdoor seating for happy hour.

White fish with risotto. I'm usually not a risotto fan, but it was really good

The atmosphere, food, service are still good. It's a fun place to go after work. The turnover is pretty fast, so if you're waiting for a seat at the bar it opens up fairly quickly. For dining, it's best to get a res.

holy smokes Benedict
Mark H.

Came here for brunch, the Saturday before Father's Day. From the brunch menu I chose medium-rare steak and sunny side up eggs. The server thought that the steak was not cooked right so she sent it back and we got an extra steak and eggs, free! The others had a holy smokes Benedict and a JT's Power Bowl with ahi tuna. The steak and potatoes were a bit salty, perhaps intended to go with beer but we were drinking water. We would like to see a mocktail and a nonalcoholic beer on the menu. After all, most patrons either walk here for a working lunch or drive here. I think the real mission of Bosscat is not to sell alcohol. It is to sell hospitality to employees OR to drivers and their passengers!

Stopped by Bosscat Kitchen & Libations for lunch during the World Cup while looking for a place to watch the USA vs. Australia match with my kids. The food was excellent, and the service was even better. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and inviting. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is that we came specifically to watch the game. Inside the dining area, the match was only visible on a couple of small TVs near the bar, which wasn't the most comfortable setup for enjoying a World Cup match during lunch. Fortunately, there was a large fan viewing area just outside with a great soccer atmosphere, so we finished our meal and headed there to continue watching the game. We later tried a nearby coffee shop to catch the second half, but that experience was much less welcoming. As a restaurant, Bosscat absolutely delivered--great lunch, great service, and a lively atmosphere. If you're looking for a quality meal near the stadium, it's an excellent choice. Just don't expect the main dining room to be an ideal sports-viewing destination during major matches.

They have tons of parking in this shopping center. They share it with TONS of other places. One of my BFFs saw this on an Instagram video and wanted to check it out. *They do take reservations When we came in we checked in with one of the waitresses. She said she would seat us in a minute. To be honest, she did forget about us. A waiter walked up to us and asked us what was going on (we were standing there for around 7 - 10 minutes) and we told him we had a reservation for the speakeasy. He immediately apologized and sat us. This camp themed speakeasy has a couple booths. It's on the smaller sides. Which, speakeasy's are usually small to begin with. I did not get the waitresses name, my friend and I were busy catching up. The waitress was nice, but not attentive. I will say service was a 2/5. However, the actual restaurant, cozy pine is located in, was packed because of the World Cup being on TV. So I definitely was not going to complain The food Our food order did come out extremely FAST. Faster than our drink orders. -the campfire guacamole -BBQ shoestring fries (had bbq seasoning all over them so it tasted like a BBQ potato chip) -Glamping plate (charcuterie board) -steak tacos (one without onion and cilantro -churro affogato Again, the food was VERY fast!! And to be honest it wasn't that bad. I'll say, speakeasy's usually shine in the drink department vs food. Drinks -Lycheed and Loaded Ketel One, lychee liqueur, lemon, elderflower. This was extremely delicious! If you don't like to taste your alcohol? Go with this. It was really refreshing. Hand this to me at a spa and I'd be the happiest gal in the world -Camp Anawanna $17 Graham cracker-infused bourbon, licor 43, chocolate, torched marshmallow (the waitress catches the marshmallow on fire at the table) This one was stronger and I didn't think it was overly sweet despite the ingredients I think they had a good selection, especially for a small speakeasy. I have been to better, so I don't think I'd return. Especially since the service was not that great. We still had a good time and recommend for every speakeasy lovers list.

Price increases in our past three years are certainly expected, however, the hike since April's menu to yesterday (10/3/2026), seems unreasonable. The Churrasco entree (Cuban herb chimichurri with sharp citrus notes) for $50 gives you a very thin skirt steak with a corn cob, white rice, and black beans in a skinny ramekin (tiny, tall egg cup in this instance), whose price seems unjustified. However, $44 dollars would make more sense, including the value-add of the remarkable ambiance and terrific service. The next time, I will ask them how many ounces meat dishes before ordering to negotiate price to product. Be certain to ask for your corn cob to be served off-the-cob: it has sprinkled cotija cheese and a thin coat of unseasoned enchilada sauce on it. The *curved blade of the steak knife that comes with this entree is almost impossible to cut the kernels off of the cob without making a disaster. I asked for more of the churrasco sauce, with a citrus tang that was served minimally, under the skirt steak -- it was also outstanding with the corn and white rice.

The interior is beautifully designed, and the restaurant occupies a great location in an attractive building. Unfortunately, the service did not come close to matching the setting. From the moment we walked in, there was very little acknowledgment from the staff. Despite the restaurant being relatively quiet, everyone appeared preoccupied, and we were left with the impression that there was very little attention being paid to the guests. The food was extremely inconsistent. Some dishes were fine, while others were simply not enjoyable. One dish in particular was so overwhelmingly salty that all five people at our table tried it and agreed that we could not eat it. When we brought this to the staff's attention, we were told that this was intentionally how the dish was prepared. They offered to take it back, but told us we would still be charged for it. When the dish returned, parts of the food were noticeably blackened, and at that point we did not feel comfortable eating it. The entire situation was handled poorly and made an already disappointing meal considerably worse. What makes the experience especially unfortunate is how much potential this restaurant has. The location, building, and interior are all excellent, but good design cannot compensate for inattentive service, inconsistent food, and poor handling of a legitimate concern from an entire table. Based on our experience, none of the five of us would return.
