It seemed to me that it was probably torn and fabric was stitched together to cover it up. I called and called the store and as in the past , no one ever answers the phone. I took the dress in and they said someone would be in touch. The call was a lesson in futility with THE MASTER OF denial. He said the thread stitched in matched the original thread of the dress so it could not have been their fault . I have people that were with me when I wore the dress that will attest that it was in no way damaged. I do have my receipt of original purchase . I have witnesses who saw the dress on me and attest that was not damaged before dry cleaning. Also, I found the dress online , on sale currently to show them that replacement cost was reasonable. Many of the machines are quite new, and if only they were properly cleaned, on a REGULAR basis, they would be great, and I would definitely give a much higher rating, probably 5 stars. But, the attendant just pushing dirt around the floors with a broom, and occasionally mopping is simply not the thorough cleaning that gives me confidence. I understand that cannot be a fun, desirable job, though it provides plenty of time for personal phone calls... Sure would be great if regular wiping of the machines could be coupled with those phone calls.

It creates an awkward, pressured moment where you're expected to tip for something that has never traditionally involved tipping. That's not customer service--that's shifting the responsibility of paying employees onto customers. If prices need to go up, then raise prices. Be transparent about it. But adding a tip screen to a basic service transaction feels misleading and leaves a bad taste. There are plenty of other cleaners that don't put customers in this position, and I'll be taking my business to one of them.
