I'm so glad I finally made it into Bosa. This location appears to be in an old Taco Bell (the furniture reminds me of the early 90s Taco Bells) that has not been updated. It wasn't pretty inside but it did not distract me from my mission. I was there to get donuts for a little get-together. The dining room was a little dirty, which made me wonder about the conditions in the kitchen. DD and DH convinced me to order donuts to eat there before we left. I ordered an apple fritter, which I had not had in years. It was the most delicious 5 million dessert calories I can remember. Okay, maybe not the MOST delicious, but dang that was a good fritter! The donuts were all uber-fresh. Even a day later, they tasted fresher than most of the other donuts I've had from chains like Dunkin Donuts. Highly recommend you stop here! Subtract one star for the location, the furniture and the dirty table I had to wash off myself before I felt okay sitting there. Normally a dirty dining room would skeeve me out (and cause me to walk out), but I convinced myself a pack of six messy children had JUST walked away from my table before I sat down. Awesome Donuts! The only thing is, I was expecting the light fluffy glazed that Krispy Kreme has. This is not the same. HOWEVER these donuts are homemade delicious and why not support small businesses?!?! So why the 4/5 star instead of 5/5? Well the majority of our group LOVED the donuts and swears by them. HOWEVER, one or two just thought they were alright and preferred a light airy donut a la Krispy Kreme (lameeee). So thats why I am trying to represent all opinions here in my reviews. All BoSa's look pretty identical. An older interior (whoever owns these seems to buy older places and keep them that way) and Asian employees just like almost every other BoSa I've been to. Matthew D. is spot on with his remark in that they seem to be out of many things at the same time. How you run out of stuff for doughnuts when it's your only product is beyond me. They sure are tasty though, especially the ones with the pink dough (such as the strawberry, my personal favorite.) Now, if you're looking for a "fancy" doughnut or something out of the ordinary, BoSa may not be the place. No Maple and Bacon flavored doughnut here. I've been going here for quite sometime for a little sweet treat. I love their apple fritters, yum! Their donuts are fantastic! The boba isn't so great though, it's just a bit too chalk tasting (They do use powder) and the boba was really mushy (I know how boba is supposed to be, I've had a lot from numerous places), so I haven't purchased their boba drinks since then. My last visit wasn't so great.. I had found a hair in my donut! Not stuck in the glaze but the batter! (Do they even wear hair nets?) I was lucky that I was eating the donut by breaking off pieces. I love donuts. I seriously love donuts and Bosa makes some of the best donuts around. We usually stop in late-night and ask for whatever is warm and fresh. The owner is usually baking after 11pm. I love their old-fashioned style donuts with chocolate frosting, maple frosting, or crumb topping. Hubby loves the fritters. I'm not too much of a fan of the cream filled style, but do enjoy the jelly filled. If you go at in-between hours or middle of the day, your donut may feel a little stale, but still very tasty. I made a quick run through bosa to pick up some donuts for breakfast. I went through the drive through and there was a sign that said to pull up to the window to order. I was still narrowing down my choices and the woman came over thw speaker and instructed me to pull up to the window to order. I told her that I was still deciding. I pulled up to the window and a woman who was missing part of her front tooth took my order. I ordered a maple glazed, blueberry cake and apple pie filled. The blueberry cake was overly sweet and had artificial blueberry flavoring. The maple glazed was sweet but without much maple flavor. The apple pie seemed tasty but I didnt have a chance to taste it because my brother ate it. I know they are well known for their donuts and I've always liked their glazed. This place use to be right on about a year ago. But since then I've tried 3 times and all 3 have failed miserably. About 8 months ago I waited in line because the speaker outside don't work. So I get to the window to find they don't have any Ham and cheese croissant. Ok one fail and waste of my time. 4 months later I try again and had to wait to get to the window to find out the system was done. Fail 2. So today I try for the very last time, one person at the window as I'm driving up. So I pull behind him and I wait for an easy 10 minutes. Thank God everyone knows this place sucks because not one person behind me. I backed all the way out and left. Bosa has become my new guilty pleasure. I have to make it stop before someone hast to crane me out of my apartment. The glazed buttermilk donuts are easily my favorite. They look like tiny loaves of bread. They're really dense, and sweet on the outside, with a more tame, cakelike interior. Yummy. And, c'mon, 24 hour drive though? That's dangerous. You can also get a bag of day old donuts inside for some insanely discounted price. I have yet to try this for fear that I will eat all of the donuts in one sitting. I've had good donuts in the past at this location. About a year ago, I didn't like my apple fritter which is why I hadn't gone back. I thought I'd give it another try today and was very disappointed. My apple fritter tasted like it was fried in rancid oil and it wasn't soft and gooey like they used to be. I just feel that the quality went way down. When we entered Bosa we needed to use the restroom so first the women's was not in service so my husband went to go into the men's restroom and there was feces everywhere it was totally disgusting. Now for the donuts we always go the Bosa in Ahwatukee and I mean from the first time we walked in we were hooked. We have never had a bad donut we take them home and the next day they were fresher then the ones at the Bosa on Southern. These Bosa donuts were far from fresh the old fashion fell apart and the donut holes were hard. The service could of been better if the young girl behind the counter could of stayed off her phone. I will probably have a massive coronary because of it but I like this place. This will kill me, but I like this place. So then why not five stars? Because I grew up on Dunkin Donuts. It's been a looong time since I've had one so don't know what DDs are like today. But DDs used to have a double portion of filling inside their donuts. With the first bite you got a good mouthful of filling and with the next you got the same. with Bosa you get only one good bite, the next will be the leftover. But the taste is still very, very good. Went in on a Fri at 630AM for their special curler donuts, that they ONLY do on Fri. Sure enough nothing was prepared. Was informed it would take another 30 min to finish the donuts. Noticeable very, very, very irritated I ordered 2 other donuts instead. Was planning on a dozen, but had to settle for what they had. Well staff made sure to charge me a credit card fee due to my purchase being under $ 5.00. When you don't have what you advertise, you might want to waive the .50 fee. Last night we stopped in to Bosa Donuts on McClintock and Southern, the girl who helped us behind the counter was less interested in helping us for the 2.5 minutes and more concerned with ending her shift. We asked if they had any more glazed donuts and she said no. After we told her what we did wanted and walked out, we discovered that she gave us the wrong ones so we went back inside...which she overcharged us but that is another story...when we went back guess what they had! What's there bad to say? It's delicious donuts! The selection is plentiful, though I was expecting to see more varieties. No french crueler :( They have a lot of cake-ish type donuts. I sampled quite a few of the options available, and all were great, but my absolute favorite, and what I think was the best overall, was the glazed buttermilk!! My husband called me from work one day after a coworker had brought in several dozen bosa donuts and he said, "I've just had the best donuts I've ever eaten". Me, being a pastry lover, had to give it a try. We went early one morning and got one of every donut they had, they were awesome!
