This place was definitely worth going out of the way for. Saw them advertised online and we knew we had to try them. I tried their Queso Birria, and we had a strawberry shake. From the first bite I was in food heaven. For dessert I had a biscoff cookie cookie. It was litterally a cookie with a biscoff cookie inside it. So yum. The place looked like a standard authentic Mexican restaurant and the lady at the counter was very nice and sweet. Will definitely make this a stop any time we go to LA.
Vegan Mexican food at its best!! Only my second time here for lunch yesterday and I'm just do impressed! We brought our friend here and had a great dining experience, topped by meeting Monica, who told us that Borreguitas has been serving the Pomona community for EIGHT years and is expanding this summer to have a cafe so they can bake treats! I ordered Jamaica and the Mushroom and Spinach enchiladas with half red and half green salsa. Every bite was flavorful, and I ate the whole generous portion! Band the Jamaica!! I had to ask Monica the secret ingredient because it was just different in a delightful way--guayaba! Yummy! ;) Highly recommend!!
AMAZING!! 15/10. Some of the best vegan food around and, aside from that, it's seriously good Mexican food period. My boyfriend and I love the carne asada burrito and we always have to get street tacos to go along with it. Great service and there's typically lots of people in here, which is also a great sign. Can't say enough good things about Borreguitas.
Today was Our first time trying this place. This was super delicious!! The street taco comes with mini tortillas with the vegan meat and topping; they filled the plate with the meat. The pazole was delicious. We also got the breakfast burrito which was just ok. But we will definitely be returning for street tacos and to try rest of their menu. The place was packed and the customer service was on point.
Came for lunch, parked around the corner on the street, super friendly and helpful staff. HUGE PORTIONS. My sister always orders Pozole when it's on offer, and loved it. I devoured my chilaquiles with papas chorizo & diablo salsa which had a good burn and cooled my scalp. The cinnamon coffee is a little sweeter than I like, but I deeply respect how scalding it arrives (like McD's before the stupid lawsuit). Gets loud and lively inside; outdoor seating for two (3 spots). Can't wait to come back and try the pancakes we saw that a lot of people ordered (they looked so fluffy, and since I have a dairy allergy, I can never get them anywhere else)
Best vegan tacos ever! I've been here several times and it's always hands down the best experience. Service is kind, fast, and attentive. They'll remember you, and they'll make sure to treat you like family. So much seating and even on a busy day the line moves very fast. They have had bad bunny nights, and other night events that are so fun. My favorite tacos are the papa con chorizo but you can't go wrong with any of them!! I would recommend it always! Try their coffee it is yummy!! Very chill vibes and it's a great place for lunch dinner or even breakfast.

Their menu includes burritos, Chilaquiles, quesadillas, Quesabirra, tacos, enchiladas, pozole, nachos, fajitas,salad and more. I ordered many dishes to try. Unfortunately, I didn't go to the restaurant. Instead, I used Uber Eats. The order was well packed. I got the following: - Asada Tacos 5/5 - Al pastor Tacos 5/5 - Re- Chicken (cabbage) 5/5 -Asada Burritos 5/5 - Al pastor Burritos 5/5 - Quesabirria (with consomme) 5/5 - Vegan Mulita 5/5 Two corn tortilla stuffed with asada, cheese, onion, cilantro, and salsa - Grilled Nopal 5/5 - Vegan Crema 5/5 - Date Caramel Iced Coffee 5/5 Creamy iced coffee infused with date caramel flavor. It was just a delightful and refreshing drink. I was very impressed! The food was excellent. Everything was savory, well seasoned, rich and aromatic. Honestly, this is the BEST vegan restaurant I have ever tried. For sure, non vegan will like the food too. Definitely, I will go there in person and I am so excited to try more of their delicious authentic vegan food
I love the food here and it makes me happy after I eat it. I had a wet carne asada burrito with added potatoes for lunch today. My housemate had chorizo con papas like she always does. I also added three extra tacos to eat tomorrow. Best Mexican Vegan food!
Literalmente una joya de SoCal. As a Latina Muslim that is also a vegetarian, this is a dream for me. I came here for the first time with my friend two years ago and revisited to treat myself. The ambiance is incredible apart from the decor that makes you feel so warm, it felt so lively in a way that I don't see from many restaurants! The staff makes it so easy to have a conversation with them and are is so welcoming. I wish I tried something new, but I stuck with the red wet burrito--fulfilled, I was nothing but satisfied! The cookie was a snack to munch on while I waited(the food came out really quickly)
Some friends and I spent an afternoon together working on a project together and we were famished. One among us is a vegan so she suggested this place. The ambiance reminded me of walk- in restaurants you'd find in Mexico - super casual, development of vibe in progress. You order first, then seat yourself. None of this is bad - it is just how it is and it works. Staff are friendly and service takes a little long but that's because food and drink are prepared in the moment. The food was delicious!! You would not know that any of their food is vegan and the owners work hard to preserve authentic Mexican food flavors. The rice was flavorful and was more like sopita - a little wet, but good. Beans were refried. Salsas were excellent - I recommend the green, although the red looked tasty! I opted for three different flavors on my hard shell tacos - just in case I don't make it back out this way. Lol!! I wanted to guarantee that I tried as many flavor profiles as possible. Nopal / papa taco - you could actually taste the nopal flavor and the papas were cubed - not mashed. Excellent!! Asada - also excellent!! I couldn't tell it wasn't actual meat. Al pastor - equally good!! The shells were super thin - almost like tortilla chips texture, but didn't taste like maiz...they didn't sit heavy at all. I suppose this is the bonus of eating vegan ... you don't get that super full feeling afterwards. I am definitely curious about the vegan ceviches and would try that and / or the vegan pozole. Definitely a place to visit again.
I can't say enough amazing things about this place! My first compliment is that we're packed on a Sunday afternoon, not an empty seat in the building. During this particular visit I was craving their potatoes + soyrizo burrito with beans and cheese. It's sooo delicious and flavorful and tastes homemade. They pair it with 2 salsa options, a dark red tomatillo salsa and a green salsa, which is more mild. Both are delicious but I prefer the dark red salsa. When you walk in the traditional Mexican style decor greets you right away and so do the smiles of the staff. I grabbed some complimentary flavored water and it was extremely refreshing and I personally thought it was a thoughtful touch. Much appreciated

Service in person is prompt and quick where you order at the counter and seat yourself. Restaurant is clean and tidy. My personal favorite was the jackfruit birria w/ pineapple salsa and their soy carne asada. I tried all the proteins too but the one addicting item on the menu is their papas dorados (the crunchy potato tacos). My intent was to find a great spot to cater a taco bar lunch for 80 people. I worked with Alejandra to figure out the amount I needed and work out the pricing. I was very satisfied with the level of professionalism and promptness of their service. The taco bar was a hit and super delicious. Many of my guests were impressed with not only the quantity of the food but also the quality and flavor! Many preferred not to use the salsa because the tacos were always so flavorful and juicy. In the future I'd love to have them come out with the food truck for freshest taco experience. Will be bringing all my friends and fam here over and over!
Had to check out this spot while I was at the fairplex for the thirftapallooza event over the weekend. I'm from the westside so this was the perfect opportunity. There's street parking and some parking in the back. Many people ate there. Didn't see too many people get takeout. The inside was not the cutest but it was super hot outside and the booths were comfortable. We ordered the nopales relleno plate, loaded nachos with barbacoa, some potato tacos and the agua Frescas. The sauce from the nopales relleno was spicy and addicting. The asada was made from soy and it didn't have much flavor or texture. The cheese was daiya. I enjoyed the beans and rice. Nopal was delicious. The daiya and soy asada was okay. The nachos came with jackfruit barbacoa which was dry, shredded daiya and guacamole. I wish it came with salsa and coconut cream or some type of "sour cream" dairy alternative. They felt incomplete. We used my relleno sauce for the nachos. Agua frescas were on the sweeter side. They HIT for the hot day. I'm happy I tried it out. I'll be back to try the rest of the menu for sure!

I stopped here on a road trip but I would go all the way back just to eat here again. It was sooo tasty. Prices are very affordable. It's clean inside everywhere I could see. Service is very friendly. Ambiance is good for friends or a date. AC works. No criticisms, just praise. Can't wait to go back. read more
Amongst all the great options you have along Garey Ave for Mexican food, Borreguitas stands out not just for being a vegan restaurant, but for being a great one with a strong menu with stronger roots in the Pomona community. We had the vegan pazole, and my wife had a variety of tacos (soy based al pastor and asada) while I had a breakfast burrito filled with hash brown, tofu, and vegan cheese. I'm a sucker for any great breakfast burrito so naturally that was my favorite item. The best I can describe it is it's like a really awesome scrambled egg and and cheese burrito and I think even if you didn't know what it was really made of, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference! The pazole was perfect for me as well - a light broth simmering with all the flavors of its ingredients that include mushrooms, spinach, red salsa, and other great veggies. Service here is great and the restaurant is spacious - we were always asked about how we enjoyed the food. The restaurant also has pamphlets for community resources at its front desk and you can tell the people who run the restaurant really care about what goes on in Pomona. We will definitely be coming back to Borreguitas to try more of its awesome menu! read more
Borruegitas in Pomona might just be one of the best surprises I've had in a long time. I ordered a burrito and was fully prepared for a solid plant-based meal, but what I got was something way beyond that. It was flavorful, filling, and so good I had to pause halfway through and double check that it was actually vegan. No meat, no dairy, just pure magic wrapped in a tortilla. The seasoning was spot on, the textures were perfect, and honestly, I would put it up against any burrito, vegan or not. The space is casual and inviting, and the staff was friendly and clearly proud of what they serve. You can tell a lot of care goes into the food, and it shows in every bite. Whether you are vegan or just hungry and curious, Borruegitas is absolutely worth a visit. I am already planning what to try next. read more

I cannot express how wonderful this restaurant is... The owners the ambiance and drinks can't be beat! My party had drinks only this time but we will be back to eat for sure. I love this place, I'm here weekly! Great service from the family, and delicious food, can't go wrong from the tacos, to burritos, to the tostada, the plantain, loaded fries plate, pancakes, the quesa birria omg so fire and many more lol. Their desserts are so yummy to end off the meal. Can't forget their refreshing agua frescas, iced coffee and matchas, and their hot chocolate is the best I've ever had. read more

This place was absolutely delicious. The staff were so kind. We went during lunch and they were a bit busy. I went with the enchiladas con papa and the sauce was so good. You can tell it's made with love. We also ordered the birria tacos and those were delicious. The atmosphere itself was nice, and there was plenty of seating available when we were there. I want to start by saying the food here is consistently fantastic flavorful, comforting, and always spot-on. The restaurant is clean and has a welcoming vibe, which is why I've happily come back many times. However, today's visit was really disappointing. My sister and I placed our order (around $52 worth of food, plus her chilaquiles) and sat down to wait. We watched several customers who arrived after us receive their orders and leave, while ours never came out. After about 25 minutes my sister asked about it, and was told it would be right out. Another 15 minutes passed, and when she checked again, the woman at the counter (not the mom she is always wonderful) responded rudely said they were "packing it up." By the time we finally received our order nearly 40 minutes later we got home only to realize there were no salsas included. Tacos and burritos with no salsa is definitely a letdown. What bothered me most wasn't just the delay, but the fact that there was no apology or explanation. Based on what we saw bags were being left on the counter and a man rushing out with multiple bags I honestly think our order may have been taken by him. The process just felt disorganized. I ended up returning to work late because of this, so sadly I don't see myself coming here for lunch anymore even though I still really love the food. read more

Where do I start with this place? Yesterday morning was my first visit, and before stopping in, I called to ask about vegan options. To my surprise, I found out the entire restaurant is 100% vegan! As someone who was working in the area and thought there weren't many vegan choices around, this was an exciting discovery. For breakfast, I couldn't decide between my usual go-to, a breakfast burrito, or chilaquiles, one of my all-time favorites. The woman helping me recommended the chilaquiles and asked if I preferred spicy or mild. I chose spicy and paired it with a lemon cucumber chia agua fresca. The service was immediately unique. I wasn't asked for my name or given a table number, just told to sit wherever I'd like. Somehow, the staff knew exactly where everything belonged. A gentleman brought my drink, and by the time I returned from the restroom, my food was already waiting for me. The presentation was beautiful. The plate was loaded with rice, beans, chips, cheese, onions, bell peppers, and extra onions on the side. How did they know I loved onions enough to have a full size? The salsa was absolutely perfect. In fact, I thought about that meal for the rest of the day. The food felt wholesome, fresh, and made with care. The portions are huge, especially considering the very reasonable prices. And as a vegan, finding flavorful beans that don't leave you regretting your choices later is always a win! The customer service deserves special recognition. Everyone was genuinely friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was packed when I arrived, yet everything ran smoothly. The dining room and bathrooms were spotless, and the whole place felt like a beloved local gem. The food was so memorable that I came back the very next day for dinner before heading home. Once again, I asked for recommendations. I accidentally ordered the wrong item and realized it a few minutes later. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, something that's unfortunately rare these days. This time, I ordered the potato enchiladas and borracho fajitas, plus a re-chicken taco as a snack for the drive. Everything was delicious. I also have to recommend the aguas frescas. The lemon cucumber chia was fantastic, and the watermelon agua fresca I tried on my second visit was perfect for the heat. Also they make random sweets during the week; such as pastries, cookies, etc. When a restaurant makes you come back the very next day, you know they're doing something right. Great food, generous portions, excellent prices, wonderful people, and a fully 100% vegan menu (that isn't all soy based). I'll definitely be back and highly recommend giving this place a try. read more

Vegan Mexican cuisine! It's Taco Tuesday! The food is always amazing! Service is great. Ambience feels like home. They now have Vegan Concha! I wanted to try their Dubai Chocolate version but it was all gone. It was the best seller. I ended up trying the Oreos. (Not pictured). It was sweet and soft just like a donut. Everything about this restaurant is on point. The food is amazing, so amazing that you'd never guess it was vegetarian or vegan! The people are just as amazing. They are friendly and welcoming. O.M.G. This place is amazing! We stopped by for brunch since we were in the area. Everything was delicious and non-vegans will love it too!! It's worth a trip to Pomona just to visit! If you order the pozole, make sure to add the jackfruit. And chef's kiss to the al pastor. read more

Yes they do! They wouldn't set it up online or by phone though. We had to go there and speak with the woman in charge of it and pay some or all to set it up.
