Pretty good Thai Rice w Jumbo shrimp - Thai wings & grilled pork - would visit again when in area

My family use to go to this restaurant a lot but over the last year the food quality has gone down and the prices have gone the opposite way. I understand inflation is hitting everyone hard but the price for a meal here has gone way up especially when compared to other Thai restaurants with better tasting food. I won't be coming back as the cost is just not worth it read more

One of my usual, always great food and consistency. Staff can be a lil slow to take order but food comes quick read more

After the game, I decided to take my date out for some food Thai food. Unfamiliar with the area, I was hoping this place would be it. It turned out to be a great find. My pad Thai was had excellent flavor. Unlike other places this restaurant had lots of chicken in this dish. The spice level was also to my preference because I got to have my Thai food spicy. My date chose the Thai fried rice. A very simple dish but it wasn't lacking in flavor either. If you're in the neighborhood, give this place a try! read more

Born Thai - Pad Thai w/ chicken - Thai Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Great fast service and this place has a all day happy hour! Pretty unheard of- 9$ classic cocktails and 6$ beers. Tasty fresh Thai food. The each sauce/ dish you can pretty much pick which meat or meatless option you'd like. They have everything from chicken and shrimp to tofu and "mock duck". Best part of it all? The fish comes fried! Or atleast for the curry it did and boy was it delicious! I've never seen this before but the two together was sooo good. They also have a lovely back patio which is larger than the actual indoor itself so finding a table shouldn't be a problem. With it's centralized location right on Flatbush Ave this place is also easy get to. read more

Great food and ambiance. Drinks were great. I would def come back. And it's very low key.

This is usually my favorite Thai spot, but I am so disappointed today. I ordered Pad Thai from Uber Eats and there was an option for it to be spicy. I enjoy spicy food, so I said to myself, why not a little kick in my Pad Thai.. well... That was more than a kick. It was unbearably hot, to the point where every bite needed extreme gulps of water to rinse the scorch from my mouth. I tried my best to eat it because I was hungry, but I gave up. My boyfriend came home, who usually pours heaping amounts of Halal hot sauce over everything and even he said it was too hot. I feel like I got a rushed dish that didn't sustain the quality I usually get when I'm there. And if I can be honest, it's not the first time I have felt like that about their takeout and delivery orders in the past. As I'm typing this hours later my mouth still feels raw and my stomach is hot. Hoping they will be more mindful that spicy still means edible. read more

Used to be my favorite Thai place in Brooklyn, but I've gone back twice recently and it just isn't the same. Drinks are still great, but quality of food has dropped considerably. I could let that go, but the behavior of the bartender, waitress and owner is a no go. They practically stalk your table (or in my case, the bar) as you drink and seem to get upset if you make it clear that you're only there for drinks and not food. It's very uncomfortable. Let your paying customers relax (we have a lot goin on outside of the brief moment we stop by after work, etc) instead of adding to their stress by hovering over them. Will no longer include this place in my rotation when I'm in the city. Shame because they really were good at one point. read more

been coming here over a year bartender "T" I guess the manager on duty at the time tried to assist me but handled situation all wrong the shrimp for pineapple fried rice came out with a stink smell anyone that cooks shrimp knows that if it smells means the shrimp is bad why are you trynna put people health on the line for 20dollar meal not worth it I asked to have something else I waited for my food and she walked right pass me and had my food sitting In the cold where's the customer service at Im at my breaking point I don't know if the place is Under new management or whatever but the service was unexpectable read more

I had to return because they have the best Thai fried rice I've tasted so far. The service has picked back up too, which I'm happy about. I've visited here multiple times again in the last few months and I'm still loving their pineapple Thai fried rice. My last visit, I treated my aunt and she liked it very much and she really liked the lights above the bar. I'm glad this is still my go to Thai spot because I did miss it. Once they allow me to give them tip without them brashly requesting it before it's given, then everything should remain fine lol. read more

Food and service was great!! The host was welcoming and attentive to our needs. The food was fresh, plated with care and delicious!

I ordered curry chicken and Tom yum soup. Curry chicken came like the pic. It looks like leftover food. The soup was weird that was different from other Thai restaurants.. I don't want to order from there anymore read more

Born Thai - Is it normal or left over? - Thai Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

One of the few places open in Brooklyn at 10 pm. Fast service and quite atmosphere. We ordered the red curry, udon with beef and basil fried rice. The fried rice was okay, lacking flavor. I don't know what was missing but something was not there. The udon with beef was good. Texture of the noodles were not undercooked for over cooked. The beef was tender and seasoned well. Apart from the overall flavor, it was too spicy for someone who's not use to that. The red curry was sweet, I don't like it sweet and I know they do this to cater to a different group of ppl. So it was disappointing when I tasted it. Overall, pricey and lacking flavor (at least in 2 of the 3). It's a place I would only go to if I thing else is around. read more

This was a substitute dinner because Peter Lugers was booked for the entire weekend..lol I know it's a poor substitute but hey what can you do? It wasn't a busy night at Born, so we just walked in and sat anywhere we wanted. To start I had the "medium" sized appetite that came with 4spring rolls, 2 curry pastry things, and 2 shrimp rolls. I enjoyed the spring roll and shrimp roll. The curry puff pastry thing threw me off. Maybe it was because it didn't taste fresh. It felt more like warmed up/microwaved puff. The filling was also bleh. It was sorta sweet, sorta curry...not sure what was going on in there. I didn't eat much of that. Oh its' called "Crispy duck curry puff". Was DEF NOT crispy. I didn't even know there was meat inside. My meal- I heard the curry is really good here but i'm not a fan of coconut milk based sauces so I had to get the Jungle Curry. It was SUPER spicy. I loved it. My friend got some other coconut milk based curry which was aight, again I'm not a fan of the whole milk sauce mixture. I wished I had more rice with my curry though. I had mine with shrimp. Dessert- The Fried banana with vanilla cream. Can't go wrong with that! Drinks- The thai ice tea is as expected. But the alcoholic drinks were wickidity WACK! We had a combined 4 alcoholic drink and we were still waiting for our buzz. We only ordered more because we thought "ok, maybe the next one will be better". At the end of the night, we just figured that it wasn't worth it. Esp fo $9 a glass. Overall, I wasn't too impressed with this place. read more

One of the best parts of this restaurant was the quick service that brought the food hot and fresh. the servers were very attentive when it came to our refills as well I ordered the veggie drunken noodle plate with medium spice. It was not very spicy and I would have kicked up the spice toe a medium. The dish had cauliflower, red peppers, squash, and red peppers. The portion was a good size but I wish this dish was made with flat noodle instead of udon (I typically get flat noodle when I order this dish in other Thai restaurants) because it would compliment the chunky veggies better The appetizer of dumplings was amazing. fried, hot, and delicious along side a sweet and sour sauce I ordered an old fashioned and this is the only thing i wish I returned as I did not enjoy it at all. Price is a little pricey but this restaurant is in a pretty gentrified part of Brooklyn so that's probably why read more

The only reason they got 1 star is because the food was good. However, we were rushed out because we were a group of African Americans and the table across from us with two white women were allowed to stay and chat. More details below... We walked in and was seated quickly. We placed our order and the food came out quickly. Our main course came out prior to us finishing the appetizers. It was difficult because we were five individuals seated at a table for four. Nonetheless, we figured it out. We ate and paid the bill. Gratuities were included because of the size of our party. It's now 10:07pm, they close at 10pm, per Yelp. Two individuals in our party were still finishing their cocktails and another table across from us were also having drinks and chatting. One of the workers walked over to us and said, "sorry we're closed now". I guess that was her way of asking us to leave. I'm baffled as to why she didn't say the same to the table next to us. She addressed us and walked away. We were a table of 5 black women and they were a table of two white women. I WILL BE TAKING MY BLACK REVENUE ELSEWHERE. I WILL NEVER RETURN. I AM SO DISGUSTED. read more

I am a vegan! I try not to be annoying about my food choices and lifestyle but telling you I am a vegan pertains to this review... let us carry on.. My friend tells me about a great Thai spot she wants me to go to and there is food options there for me as well. So I'm totally down but I was not prepared for what I would experience. Atmosphere- very laid back, chill. The wait staff is super friendly and attentive and since we went on a Wednesday it was empty which was perfect. A girl could sip her merlot in peace. Service was prompt my friends had their appetizers served quickly and the vegetarian options was so delicious. Ugh.. the food...love Now my entrée was just amazing. I ordered the vegetarian duck with garlic sauce and white rice. Upon receiving my meal, I needed to confirm with the waitress that the "duck" was not meat. I mean I know seitan mimics meat texture and looks really convincing but I mean it looked so much like meat that my mind couldn't process what was is front of me. Now the taste of this food was exceptional. Flavorful, satisfying, savory.. all words leading to the food was just so epically delicious. I would go back a thousand times. I would walk from the deepest parks of Brooklyn if it meant just eating this "duck". I recommend checking this place out but do not overcrowd it.. ya know leave the coolness alone... so yes vegans and vegetarians this place is for us with options that isn't just dry salad on a plate but deliciously prepared food that has me officially crazy read more
