Extremely disappointing experience. My husband and I walked into Boot Barn on Thursday, 4/2 around 5:00-5:30 PM excited to buy a cowboy hat and boots. There were 3-4 girls behind the counter and a tall young guy near the boots, and none of them acknowledged us when we walked in or even when we said hello. One of the girls appeared to be on her phone or putting on makeup. The whole atmosphere felt very unwelcoming. This was my first time buying a cowboy hat, so I didn't even know where to start. After being ignored, I honestly felt uncomfortable asking anyone for help because it seemed like we would just get a bad attitude. The only pleasant employee in the store was a young lady in the boots section with light brown/reddish hair. She was friendly, cheerful, and actually asked if we needed assistance. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff made the experience so uncomfortable that we decided to leave and spend our money elsewhere. Customer service like this is very disappointing, especially when customers come in ready to shop. read more

I hate to say I just experienced this. I went in on Sunday around 12:45pm. Husband looked for a shirt, nobody asked us if we needed help. No problem. My issue was near the hats. My husband asked an associate for help. I have never bought a hat, I have no idea how to buy one nor sizes. The girl my husband asked for help said, "what are you look for?" I told her but I said I had no idea my size. She then said to help myself and figure out my size. Not even 1 minutes later, she asked a man if he needed help. She asked him to take his clothes to the register and she'd be back to assist him looking for a hat. Not saying she's racist but he was white, she was white. I'm brown. Don't go to the Los Alamitos Boot Barn on Katella and Los Alamitos blvd if you want any help or expect common courtesy. They will walk past you and not even say "hi, can I help you find anything." There were at least four employees on duty. I stood around for over 15 minutes and made eye contact with them, and not a single employee paused or approached me to help me. There was about four customers in the store and I noticed they didn't help anyone. I read through the reviews and evidently my poor experience is not uncommon at this location. Came to this boot barn to shop for boots and a cowboy hat received amazing customer service from Alejandra she was so knowledgeable and ready to help. Will say the girl running the register was a different store her name was Anai she was very short and kinda rude talked really low and when asked to repeat something I didn't hear she sighed and repeated what she said. It was like pulling teeth with her. Some retraining would be suggested especially being pretty much the face of the establishment a friendly face would be better. read more

Visited to get some nice boots. Got 3, for myself, hubby and baby. They seem to run small so definitely recommend trying them on. Also, what you see is the size available. The store is outgrowing its location but they have a variety of items. I stopped by for a hat and ended up with two hats and a belt. I was helped out by two team members in the hat area and they were knowledgeable and friendly. We went here a few weeks ago to buy my teenage daughter her first pair of boots. Its not the easiest place to find, as it is in the back of a complex and you have to wind around the parking lot before you even see it, but once we were there and got inside, it was exactly what we needed. This is where the "real" cowboys go - there were ranchers in there buying work boots and customers dressed in the western wear that is sold here. The selection is vast and the saleslady was so nice and helpful. My daughter has small feet (size 5-5.5 womens) and did not want to wear a child's boot to homecoming. Thanks to the salesperson's help, we were able to find a beautiful pair of brown Shyanne Rival boots, which were the hit of the night for our teen. However,the boots $199-$269 are very expensive Including the cowgirl hats $150 But I came for Boots and I knew I was going to spend at least $250 I got no help. I love the boot barn! This is my first time at this location it's very cramped/crammed though. Way too much stuff, not enough walking space! The staff must get commission because every 7 mins they asking if you need help. Like nah, we got it, thanks tho. Anyways I came for the boot selection and that's it! This manager is out of his mind. I purchased boots when I got to the car I realized they condition them for you. When I asked the girl she wasn't the nicest but said ok then when I went back to counter to retrieve them Robert very hastily (in front of many customers & employees) asked to see the receipt & accused me of stealing them. I went to my car to retrieve bag & receipt after he looked at receipt with proof that I in fact purchased them I got a sarcastic smirk instead of any kind of apology. The service here is terrible. I was ready to buy a cowboy hat that is in the $250 plus range but they keep them Behind the counter. When I ask to see one she hands it to me and starts helping people in line checking out. It's not my size and I want to see other hats but they are too busy checking people out that she doesn't come back to help. They had at least 4 people working so I don't know why one of them can't stop to help me. So I just left it on the counter and walked out. Poor customer service never sits well with me. read more

If you must shop at boot barn, their prices are cheaper online and stuff is more expensive in the store even if you they were to order it online for u and have it shipped to your house. that was the main issue at the store, realizing their prices are jacked up vs what's listed online. Unfortunately this is the closest location to where I live. The store is so poorly laid out, impossible to navigate through the aisles because there aren't any! They've jammed so many clothing racks in there, it's impossible to move through the store, if there's more than 5 people shopping. On top of that, the girl that helped us was just plain annoying. I asked if I could get my feet measured just to confirm my size as I haven't had them measured in a while now. Her response was, if you're wearing a certain size in one brand, you'll be the same size in the next. Then she proceeds to lecture my 5 year old son who was standing next to my wife and I about running around the store and hiding in the clothes racks which he did neither. Despicable! read more

Now a days , it's rare when you get over the top customer service. The staff here at this store are amazing. I purchased my first cowboy hat and had no idea what I was doing. The gentleman on the floor took time to explain my options and price ranges . And to make things even better, he brought a gentleman from the back of the counter to explain the different styles you can shape your hat . The shaped and cleaned my new hat . Attempt to return an online order that was way too big. Boot barn wanted $10 to ship back to them or drop off at store. Obviously go with drop off method, get to store and they want a piece of paper printed with it. Get with times... scan the bar code on the phone like every other major retailer. Now I have to waste more of my time driving to a print store to get it printed and come back which is a huge waste of my time! read more

Second time trying to shop for boots and a cowboy hat at this location. Went to the Cowboy boot section and asked for Justin Boot brand, was told by the twirling cowgirl dressed saleslady they were mixed in the boots and I could look for my self. She was more concerned about being a dance hall performer than helping me. I live in Rossmore/Los Alamitos area and had to drive to Anaheim store to be helped. I was treated with respect and helped there, finding the boots and the hat I wanted. Really disappointed in selection and service. Have shopped here before without issues, however today was a different story because I actually needed help. Have gone up in size due to medical issues and was looking for a few new things. Maybe found 1 or 2 tops that came in a true XL. Impossible to find jeans over a 10/12, and when asking the employees if they could check for a 14, was told "everything we have is out, try it they stretch".
