I like Boobys. There, I said it. Bold start, I know. But Booby's is the kind of place that makes you feel like you've stumbled into a time capsule of deliciousness--where the buns are toasted, the fries are hot, and the vibes are strictly mom-and-pop. I ordered the chicken sandwich because I like to test a burger joint's range. I'm happy to report that this wasn't some sad, dry poultry puck. It was juicy, well-seasoned, and sandwiched between two buns that probably have their own zip code. The decor has just the right amount of nostalgic weirdness. You half-expect someone named Marty to come out of the kitchen and tell you they've been grilling since the Eisenhower administration. Prices are reasonable, portions are generous, and I left with a full belly and no regrets. Except maybe that I didn't get a milkshake. Next time, Boobys. Next time.

chicken and fries

Imagine eating portillos, now imagine eating portillos at a place called boobys. some would refer to this food as "the bomb" i would refer to it as "boobys chicken and fries". that cashier is definitely on something though. love the retro 2003 vibe, don't change boobys, don't change.

The Big C

Standard looking suburban burger/beef place. The staff was straight forward, almost taciturn, which I've found to be pretty common in the Chicago area. Not rude, but not the most cheerful either. They have an impressive menu. They are known for their steak sandwich but I went with the Big C Burger (a Big Boob with cheese). The price is cheap but I ended up paying almost 16 bucks for fries and a drink with it. The burger is delicious. Grilled onions, sauce, slaw. And it's big! The fries were average frozen crinkle fries. Five stars for the burger, three for the fries, three for service. Four stars total because the burger was that darn good.

I like that I can walk in and order a Big Boob whenever I feel like it!

This place hits on every way. Soup, salads and appetizers all good. Their sandwiches are great. My friend Ralph Zaccariello used to tell me they had the best steak sandwich in Chicagoland. A little nicer than fast food. Still casual enough to stop in during a busy work day.

Always liked patronising this resturant. It is basically a Mediterranean Greek resturant . You ordered at the counter. You may sit in and enjoy or take out. They do have a drive through to pick up honk or knock on the window . They do have gender neutral restrooms which I made a mistake on the check in They have 3 types of chicken Many salads Pastas Sandwich Italian faire also . I had gyros dinner choice of sides. I have enough for another meal ! Yum Thanks

The very best steak sandwich in the Chicagoland area. The restaurant is clean, the counter service is fast. There is a reason this place is so well known and popular. Another Chicagoland treasure.

Beef sandwich meat tasted like it was in the freezer for too long. Food is over priced and overrated.

I stopped at Elia Cafe after my workout at the gym next door during my trip to the Chicago area…read more The space has lots of natural lighting, and even though I went without a reservation, I was able to be seated quickly. Alondra my server was friendly and attentive, and gave great recommendations on my dishes. Since I just had had an intensive workout, I was craving protein. They have a very delicious wagyu (medium well) and egg dish with fruits & fresh greens I really enjoyed, and powered me thru my post-workout as well as my afternoon flight back from O'Hare. The complementary sourdough toast that came with the wagyu. I'm glad that he made the suggestion because I had a wonderful experience there! We had a group of six and had to wait a bit before being seated. Everything was great and the omelette was huge. Our server was nice and our party had a nice time catching up. I highly recommend Elia Cafe!

My husband and I recently visited for the first time with his parents, and we absolutely loved it…read more My in-laws come here often since they live nearby, so when we were in the area, we decided to finally give it a try. (Sorry, no pictures this time! I was enjoying my food so much that I completely forgot.) The ambiance is welcoming, bright, and modern, and the restaurant is much larger than I expected. Everything was clean, and our waitress was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. I ordered the Lox Plate, and it was outstanding. The salmon had the perfect texture and seasoning, the cucumbers and bagel were fresh, and all of the flavors paired together beautifully. I love seeing lox on a menu, but many restaurants either don't do it well or serve portions that are too small. Here, everything was spot on, and the portion was generous enough that I left completely satisfied. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal, and my husband and I have already said we'll be back very soon. This restaurant is a fantastic addition to the neighborhood, especially since there aren't many local breakfast spots nearby that aren't part of a chain. Highly recommend!

I will say a 4/5 - wish it had my Corned Beef and a bit more crisp. I liked that the onions & peppers were chopped the same size and had a good amount of cheese. Beautiful decor inside. Very bright and inviting. The staff is very nice but they definitely need more help in the dining room...maybe an extra waiter/waitress or 2. It does get very busy especially on the weekends. I will go there again.

We didn't notice until our way out but they also have a drive-thru, and signs that say they offer delivery/are on DoorDash, so with multiple options, Charcoal Flame is convenient. This building looks like it possibly used to be an old 90s/00s KFC or Pizza Hut or something, but it's cozy and clean and we love an easy access parking lot. The menus are expansive and you order at the counter when you walk in. There are plenty of tables for dining in, and a few were taken while we were there. There was a steady stream of phone orders coming in for pick up, and the restaurant was busy overall. We were helped right away and the staff at the counter were so friendly. I ordered a Maxwell street sausage as a meal ($5 additional for a drink and fries) and my partner ordered the American Gyro sandwich and also as a meal. We grabbed a table and our drinks from the fountain machine and only waited a few minutes for the number on our receipt to be called with our order. The food here is so fresh and delicious. This is one of the best Maxwell street sausages I've had around, the bread was perfect and soft inside and crispy on the outside with the sausage split and grilled and perfectly sweet caramelized onions. The fries looked like they came in frozen/pre-cut but were fried up perfect and a generous portion. The Gyro came stacked with meat, it wasn't dry, and had great flavor. Because the food was so delicious I decided to grab a piece of baklava to go, which I was assured was homemade and delicious - and they were right. So sweet, fresh, textured, rich, luxurious. Don't skip the baklava when you stop by! This is definitely a spot that will be added to our regular rotation of lunch/dinner spots around town. Thank you so much Charcoal Flame Grill for a wonderful experience with super friendly staff! Can't wait to see you soon and try more menu items!
