My sister and I had planned to head to the Loop for Restaurant Week, but a sleepy and crabby toddler led to a change of plans that brought us to Tavern on the Point. My friend Joneice turned me onto the InKind app, which this place is listed on (as of January 2026) so we decided to give them a try. The food was not bad. I'd been considering a reuben but my curiosity got to me and I ordered the mac and cheese burger. It was pretty good, though I'm not sure it would be my first choice again. I'd order the macaroni and cheese as an individual item, particularly for my child. This time I got for her the buttered noodles which she liked a lot and actually I thought were really good too--I understand it's a pretty plain selection, but it was better than at other places. Their kid's menu was listed on the InKind app, I think, but I didn't see it on their menu I found elsewhere so you may want to take a look; I know they had the noodles and a hamburger on there, and they may also have had chicken tenders and a couple other things.

I came in 30 mins prior to happy hour on a holiday weekend and was immediately seated outside on the second floor patio. It was a beautiful day out so I was thrilled. I ordered the jalapeño poppers and a cucumber Collins. They came out about 30 mins later. From the quality of the food and drink, I feel confident that they made them fresh to order, so with that I'm not upset about the wait time. This was my first time dining here, but I already can't wait to go back!

Hey this place is great! Such a cool space and a huge menu with a ton of delicious options. My friend and I came here for Saturday brunch. Christina was our server and she was fantastic. We enjoyed several fabulous cocktails. I had the Godfather Sandwich with waffle fries: so good, so good! My friend had the short rib grilled cheese, which she said was awesome. The value was amazing for the price. I can't wait to come back!

Tavern on the Point Edison Park's hidden gem and first rooftop outdoor space! Soak up the sun or relax in the shade of the umbrellas on the rooftop at Tavern on the Point. Where the menu has something for everyone and the food will have you planning your next visit as soon as you leave! Ordered: Carrot Cake French Toast - This dish was super fun and delicious. The French toast was cooked perfectly. Topped off with creamy vanilla frosting and sprinkled with crunchy, crispy carrot pieces. This dish is perfect for carrot cake lovers or for any French toast fan! The maple syrup on top was the perfect addition and an obvious necessity in any French toast dish. Monte Cristo - This sandwich was gourmet. It didn't even need jam because it included a side of maple syrup. Would definitely order this sandwich again! Hibiscus Refresher - This drink was fruity, refreshing, and filled with whole blueberries. Plus, I'm a sucker for anything hibiscus! Diet Coke Avoid the hustle and bustle of downtown Chicago by visiting Tavern on the Point! From the friendly service to the vibe-filled indoor and outdoor spaces, the @tavernpointchi should be at the top of your list of spots to visit this summer!

Had an opportunity to visit here for a private event and enjoyed my time at the space. In the upstairs area, there is room to fit up to 50 people with restrooms and a patio area adjacent to the bar. I found this to be a good setup with enough space to wander around and the noise level being fairly reasonable for the number of people in the space. I also had a chance to try many different items such as the Caesar Salad, Sliders, Chicken Fingers, Fries, Waffle fries, and more. Overall I found the food to be pretty similar to the more upscale options I've tried with a good level of execution. Items didn't feel too greasy and were seasoned appropriately.

Sat at the bar for the happy hour deals and enjoyed the delicious spinach artichoke dip. Alyssa was a smiley great bartender. She was attentive to all the folks sitting at the bar as well as a couple gentleman sitting in a booth. It's a wonderful airy n sunny bar..I can only imagine how busy it must be when the patio out front or rooftop patio is open! Will be back for the burger deal on Monday. It's a double patty.

Stopped in at the Edison Park spot for dinner the other night. Sat at the bar and the bartender greeted me quickly and with a smile. The old fashioned was solid but unfortunately the best part of the night. I ordered the Asiago Chicken Milanese and it was under seasoned and over cooked. The tomato cucumber salad on top was fresh and tasty. I ordered the filet sliders to take home for my wife and again under seasoned. It was a clean inviting interior and would be back but maybe stick to burgers and wings.

What a cute place to spend for brunch. We sat on the rooftop on a beautiful sunny day. It was a little hot but we were shaded so it was nice. I have egg allergies so I had the smoked salmon. It was delicious!!! Great service and such a lovely place.

I left a review almost a year ago with 4 stars. There were some small things I didn't like. Wanted to update and change it, but couldn't find it. So- here we are again! This time 5 stars going to Tavern on the Point! Food is perfect as the last time! Service is even more than great! Jordy was our server and I want to prise that girl! She is really nice, friendly, dedicated to work and pleasant person! We didn't make a reservation, but since it wasn't busy we asked to be sited outside, and we were. Atmosphere was good too. And, not to forget to mention that we got 2 appetisers FREE! Don't remember what was a deal today, but we got 2 free appetisers:-D. All in all- no mistake this time! Place is definitely great and everyone should give it a try! Rooftop is for sure the best addition to this place!

Tavern on the Point is a great neighborhood spot for a date night, celebration, brunch, or to simply share a meal with family! We decided to celebrate our anniversary there, it being close to home and knowing they have delicious food. It did not disappoint! My wife is a sucker for a good vodka sauce pasta and this one was so delightfully creamy and flavorful! She added the chicken, but if she were to order again, she'd probably try it with the blackened chicken to give it extra flavor as the regular chicken did seem a bit bland. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan which was a great portion size and the chicken was very well seasoned. The star of the night however, was the fried calamari! We were a bit weary at first of the sweet chili glaze it was tossed in since we are calamari purists, but it was such a delicious surprise! The flavors from the glaze along with the paired house made sriracha-aioli was such a treat for our tastebuds. We ended the night with a cookie skillet that was on the house in honor of our anniversary. Such a sweet and unexpected surprise! If you are looking for food and service that is ON POINT, then look no further than Tavern on the Point!

It's very peaceful, romantic and a calm atmosphere. All of the food was delicious. The plating is so attractive! The dishes have great flavor but are healthier options. The portion sizes were perfect for what we desired. I'm not exaggerating when I say this was the best branzino I've ever had. The skin was crunchy and delicious. But the fish was not dry at all! There's nothing better than a juicy branzino fish and chef Jose nailed it! Matching with the sauce and beans was so much better than any other veggies or starch. The octopus was also cooked to perfection. The flavor and temperature was just right. Not too hot and such a great texture. We don't always order desserts but we had to see every course of the menu. We decided to go with a lava cake and it did not disappoint. It had that perfect contrast of hot and cold but it's served with gelato which gives it a nice touch of texture compared to standard ice cream. Chef Jose came out and introduced himself. We came in because we were enticed by a beef tartare that was on their menu in the past. We're hoping he brings it back on a special sometime soon. He said to give him a call and he'll try to accommodate whenever possible to make his customers happy. What an amazing restaurant. We cannot wait to come back and see what's new. I hope they add to it or do seasonal offerings because the selection is not too large and we pretty much maxed out what we'd be interested in trying in one visit. But they did it well and we enjoyed the Valentine's Day touched around the restaurant!

We were a little surprised when nothing was done for it, which isn't a big deal, but I'll be honest it was disappointing since we did come specifically to celebrate and had talked about it w our server. 3/5 Arancini - Very salty. None of us really enjoyed them because of that. They also came out lukewarm instead of hot. Would have been excellent if it was less salty and came out hot and crispy. 5/5 Fig & Mushroom (subbed for prosciutto) - The menu doesn't specify how the fig is served. Turned out to be fig jam rather than fresh fig, which wasn't what we expected. A little too sweet for me but overall still very much enjoyed it. Their pizza was cooked perfectly with enough toppings and cheese. Very good pizza! 5/5 Braised Short Rib + Polenta - so good! The short rib was excellent, just slightly salty. The polenta was perfect, and it came with a generous portion of wild mushrooms. 2/5 White Wine Cake (recommended as "unique") by our server - This was the most disappointing meal item. Our waitress told us it was special, but it was very bland and didn't match the description or image on their website. Their website showed a cake with a large scoop of ice cream on top, fair amount of whipped cream and raspberry sauce. Ours came with maybe a quarter of the size of that ice cream scoop, a little teaspoon dollop of whipped cream that you eat in one bite and the raspberry sauce was a tiny smear on bottom for decor but there wasn't enough to actually eat it. The cake itself was moist but lacked flavor. It took a really long time to come out, we thought perhaps they forgot, then forgetting we were celebrating a birthday on top of that was disappointing. Atmosphere - Beautiful space, very well done. The only issue is how close the tables are, you can't pull your chair back without hitting someone, and getting to the bathroom requires asking others to move because of how tight the layout is. Overall, we really enjoyed it and would return. While there were a few dishes we wouldn't order again, and others we would. Would love to try the wild mushroom pizza next time! The only thing was that since we had come to celebrate a birthday and didn't end up doing that, the night felt a little less special than we had expected--but still a nice experience overall.

Although we are from the area, we had never visited before, and the photos immediately caught our attention. The bar fit our vibe perfectly, and after visiting a few times, we knew it was the right place for us. We rented both spaces: the main bar upstairs and Nightshade, the speakeasy downstairs. Moonflower has a small stage in the main bar, which we used for our ceremony. The space already has so much character that it needed very little decorating. We brought small flower vases and an altar piece that the bride and her now mother in law made together. After the ceremony, we held cocktail hour and served food buffet style in the main bar. Later, everyone moved downstairs to Nightshade. Its lounge atmosphere and dance floor were perfect for our 50 to 60 guests. Some people relaxed around the cocktail tables while others danced, so everyone could enjoy the night in their own way. Moonflower's event organizer, Morgan, was wonderful. She made the entire planning process feel easy and was a joy to work with. She helped turn our ideas into reality, assisting with day of logistics, décor, beverage packages, and every question that came up. She was always responsive and available. Morgan also helped us think through details that had not occurred to us, including coffee for our guests, explaining the parking situation, contacting nearby businesses about using their lots, and recommending DJs. We ultimately hired one of the DJs she suggested. Her extra support was incredibly helpful and took a great deal of stress out of planning. If you have not tried Moonflower's drinks, you are missing out. Their regular cocktail menu is fantastic, and our experience was even more special because of a custom cocktail session with Zach. He created signature drink options for each of us based on our tastes and favorite cocktails. Every option was spectacular, and the final drinks felt personal and special. We chose Funeral Potatoes for the food. Since they already handle the food at Moonflower, we were able to try many dishes beforehand. Our guests raved about everything. We especially recommend the brussels sprouts, deviled eggs, and caprese sandwiches. Alexis, who heads up Funeral Potatoes, was also extremely helpful with selecting the menu. The only outside food we brought in was our wedding cake. The entire staff was phenomenal. Everyone treated the occasion with the perfect balance of care, professionalism, and fun. The night went off without a hitch and was truly one of the best nights of our lives. Moonflower was also extremely reasonable compared with other venues we considered in the city, especially with an open bar and food available on site. Street parking was plentiful, and none of our guests had trouble finding a spot. For anyone looking for a relaxed wedding for 50 to 60 people with a memorable lounge atmosphere, fantastic staff, buffet style food, and exceptional cocktails, Moonflower should be at the top of your list.

We made a reservation because I'd heard this place can get pretty busy. Although it didn't seem too crowded when we first arrived on a Saturday, it filled up quickly throughout our meal. I definitely recommend making a reservation, especially if you're planning to come for dinner. As soon as we walked in, I was struck by how beautiful the restaurant is. Since the building was once a church, they preserved the stained-glass windows and cathedral ceilings, which give the space so much character. We ended up sitting on the patio because it was a gorgeous day, but I definitely want to come back and dine inside so I can fully appreciate the interior. The patio was modern, spacious, and completely shaded, making it very comfortable. Since it's located right next to the little lake, we also enjoyed a nice breeze throughout our meal. Our waitress was friendly and attentive overall, but there was one moment that stood out. My friend's baby accidentally knocked over a full glass of iced coffee, spilling it all over my friend's lap and onto the floor. The waitress watched as my friend cleaned up the mess herself but didn't offer to help or replace the spilled drink. Aside from that, the service was good. My friends and I all ordered something different, and everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the salmon poke bowl ($19), which was fresh, flavorful, and incredibly refreshing. The ingredients tasted high quality, and all the flavors worked really well together. It was more filling than I was expecting! Price-wise, I expected the menu to be more expensive than it actually was. I'm sure dinner prices are higher, especially for steak and seafood, but the brunch menu was quite reasonable. Most breakfast and brunch dishes range from $12-$20, making it a great value for both the quality of the food and the beautiful atmosphere. As soon as we paid and entered through the bookshelf, the room was beautifully arranged as a lounge with fancy and vintage sofas and couches. Kind of reminds me of someone grandma's house. The bar had snacks available, otherwise more drink options. The band played good songs too. Definitely recommend if you're in the area and jazz fan.
