Run, don't walk to this restaurant. Absolutely delicious! We visited during COVID and picked up through the drive through, which is still available, but this time we decided to visit. We didn't have a reservation so we sat at the bar. It did get fairly busy on Sunday afternoon so a reservation may be helpful. They have a nice selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks but we just opted for a couple beers on draft. We ended up ordering the chicken and rice noodles, pork lumpia and the bbq chicken skewer. Everything was so good! Came in the door and went straight to the space designated for the food they were so efficient, then left to make sure the surprise happened, and everything looked amazing. The restaurant is super tiny, so that was frustrating as we hadn't been helped but workers were instead setting up other tables. We ordered a couple things off the menu. The best was the chicken for sure. I liked the steak, but my boyfriend felt it was tough and chewy. The green beans were good - but got cold super fast. I honestly just wasn't impressed with my experience and food. It was just alright. There's no special prices on the food for the boodle nights, so it can add up quickly. The restaurant's vibe is definitely modernized while also still keeping the Filipino spirit. The service was good, servers were kind and observant, got all the orders right and would also ask if you have any allergies before hand. Would also always refill our glass. As for the food, the Tofu sisig was spot on! It felt like I was back on our backyard with my drinking buddies with Tofu sisig as pulutan. The Fried rice was also excellent, nothing too fancy but it was definitely like eating breakfast back home with my family. The pork sisig on the other hand, I feel like has lost its Sisig spirit. I love this place. I am so impressed with the food and service, it is astoundingly good. The fried bok choy was amazing - it was the crispiest bok choy I've ever hard. It reminded me of fried brussel sprouts. Perfectly seasoned. Cucumber salad was also good, very refreshing. The highlight was definitely the entrees. I had the Inasal chicken and my husband had the adobo ribs. The chicken was perfectly cooked - crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, fantastic flavor. My husband said the ribs were the best he has had in his life - the meat was so soft it was falling off the bone. Everything was perfectly seasoned, not overly drenched in sauce. The desserts were fun - both the ube donuts and the fruit with condensed milk dessert (I forgot the name!) were amazing and creative. Cocktails were also fantastic, the lychee martini is creative and perfect balance of flavors (I subbed gin for the vodka). Service is also amazing. I called on the phone about reservations and although they were booked full that night, the person answering gave me lots of information about the first-come first-serve high tops. Our server when we were there was incredibly friendly and attentive. My only complaint is that it can get a bit loud in that space. I recommend they put up some more sound-absorbing decorations to improve the acoustics. But it's a minor complaint. The food is AMAZING and I can't wait to go back and try more. read more

I always enjoy visiting Filipino restaurants in other cities, especially when you're home city does not carry them. I happen to be in Columbus for the day and saw this place had top notch reviews. They had great parking space and street parking close by. It's a great little restaurant that I think has a good amount of seating. High tops, low tops and a bar area that's dressed up like a "hut" with the straw awning overtop. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and sat immediately. My eyes were HUGE and we ended up ordering an array of food to share. They also had accommodations for dairy and gluten which is always awesome, especially for a Filipino restaurant. The chicken and rib adobo was delicious as was the pancit, lumpia, eggplant, green beans, chicken tanola and cucumber salad. The bistek was a bit too saucy. If you're not familiar with this cuisine, trust your server. I dropped in for lunch after seeing it on my way to run a few errands. This was my first Filipino focused restaurant experience and it didn't disappoint. The owners describe the Filipino-styled cuisine as a combination of Chinese, Spanish and American. The dishes range from rice noodle to chicken adobo, to fried chicken and spaghetti, together - as in on the same plate. The restaurant isn't much to look at from the outside, but inside it gave me a tropical island feel. The waitress was super friendly and helpful. I had a lot of questions since this was my first time eating Filipino food. I decided to try their egg roll (Lumpia) and the chicken Inasal. The spices were wonderful and the portions were nice sized. While I was waiting for my food to come, I had fun watching a small group of ladies all busy rolling egg rolls and wrapping something in banana leaves. I was there during lunch and I was the only one in the restaurant so I'm not sure how busy this place gets. However based on the quality of the food, I would expect it is busy during the dinner rush. The waitress did mention that they have a special menu on specific nights that are more of a family style. I definitely want to come back and try out some of the other items on the menu. I was excited to see this pop up on my restaurant search while looking for some place to eat in the area. First the positive, my server was great and very friendly but everything after that was downhill. First my water glass was dirty, I quietly asked the server to get me a new glass. I ordered the Bonifacio which had bistek, longanisa, tocina, egg, garlic rice, veggies, and a desert. It was also suppose to have soup but it did not, now my longanisa was DRY and rough like it sat in old oil. It's the same with the tocino which had a beef jerky consistency. Inedible. The beef steak was very rough. I barely ate anything on the plate and when I was asking for my tab the server asked if I wanted a Togo container which I declined. I also ordered pork lumpia, the wrapped was too thick and the filling lacked that good taste. Because I was still hungry because of the inedible food I decided to order the Ube waffle .... It came out beautiful and like the other food very Instagram worthy! Unfortunately once you bite into the waffle it is dry, lack of flavor. The one good thing I can say is the sauce was good but the waffle itself very dry. Nestled on King street in what probably used to be an Italian place, Bonifacio delivers its take on Filipino food. What was important was that it was Vegetarian/Vegan friendly. It was. I had tofu, potatoes, and garlic rice- super super good. My dish was full of flavor, and the tofu was crispy and juicy- both at the same time. The ambiance was understated, and I think they're still renovating the place. But the service was so friendly. I would come back to Bonifacio's outside of Restaurant Week. I finally checked this place out after many friends have recommended it. First, the space is a bit small and kind of cramped. The parking lot had plenty of parking though. Overall the service is not good. Maybe they are under staffed or just forgetful? We waited forever for our order to be taken and then later to get our check processed. The food was pretty good though. I started with the virgin mojito which actually was not good. They have a lunch, dinner, and brunch menu, and their cocktails are fun and creative (albeit, a bit sweet--depends if you're into that).
