Chicken sisig
Dani G.

Came here around 11 on a Sunday and it was already quite busy. I had to park on the street as the parking lot was already full. When I arrived they asked if I had a reservation, which I didn't but since there were only two of us they were able to seat us right away. The server was working hard as they were very busy but she was very pleasant and helpful and explained their menu to us. I had the chicken sisig which was full of flavor and my friend had the breakfast lumpia. I had a bite of the lumpia and the inside was delicious but I didn't like the crepe but that's a personal preference, it was cooked to perfection. I had a few cocktails that were delicious as well. Smaller space but nice space with a few TVs and a bar area. The food was good, the service was great. I would certainly check this place out again to try some of their other items.

Chicken Inasal (Bone in) Meal
Spencer S.

Chicken inasal is one of my favorite dishes and Bonifacio's version, while not quite Chicken-House-in-Bacolod level, is the best I have had in the US. Excellent mix of textures. Massive portion of chicken for the price, juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside, with great flavor. I wish there was chicken oil, but the sinamak/soy sauce dip was great. For dessert, I ordered the ube carioca, with a crunchy exterior and chewy interior. Service was attentive and while the restaurant was fairly busy for a Saturday lunch, there were a handful of tables and bar seating available for walk ins. Free parking in the outside lot.

Loved seeing multiple vegetarian items on the menu at Bonifacio! The weekday lunch menu had very generous portions, and everything tasted really good. I especially loved the calamansi juice and bok choi! The space inside was cute and service was overall good. Would definitely go back!

Fried Chicken & Ube Waffles

This place reminded me of my grandma's cooking with a modern twist. Very friendly staff. Large menu with the traditional items like chicken adobe but also modern items like a breakfast lumpia. Very large portion sides. My favorite was the Ube Chicken &Waffles. Just wished it was white meat chicken. Got the Kimchee Bloody Mary which was flavored more with kimchee than vodka. Make a reservation! This is smaller space so walk-ins be prepared to wait. A walk in group was told wait could be up to 90 minutes.

My friend, who is an Ohio local, recommended Bonifacio and said she brings everyone here when they visit. After trying it for Sunday brunch, I can totally see why. Definitely make a reservation because it gets busy. The atmosphere: The restaurant is cute and inviting, with both table and bar seating. The food: We started with a side of the ube waffle for the table, and it was fluffy and delicious. I ordered the Pork Tocino Silog, which came with arroz caldo, salad, rice, and an egg. The pork was tender and coated in a sweet, flavorful marinade that tasted nostalgic in the best way. The vinaigrette added a nice tang, and the salad balanced the plate with a refreshing, palate-cleansing bite. The standout for me was the arroz caldo. I cannot rave about it enough! It reminded me of Vietnamese porridge, but thicker and a little chewier. It was warm, comforting, and the perfect start to the meal. The service: Great throughout, and the staff was attentive and friendly.

My coworker was doing some research on some Filipino places and this place got his interest. He told me about it and I was interested myself. I was skeptical about this place because I, myself, is also Filipino and is very particular about our food. I will say my expectations were met. I was surprised with all the flavors. This made me feel like I was eating at a family party or at home. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT NOT ONE BIT. This place made me feel like I was at home cooking with my mom, tita (Auntie), or lola (grandma). We came from Cincinnati and this place was well worth the trip! I would definitely come back!

Bonifacio is easily one of my all-time favorite restaurants in Columbus. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance pulls you in -- rich cultural vibes, beautiful aesthetics, and an atmosphere that feels both cozy and exciting at the same time. I've been here for so many different nights and occasions, and it never disappoints. If you can, come on one of their Boodle nights -- it's such a fun, immersive experience, and everything is served fresh, hot, and incredibly flavorful. My absolute go-to order is the chicken pyanggang with garlic rice, chili crisp potatoes, fried bok choy, veggie lumpia, and their crispy fried green beans. Every dish is packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with care. Another huge plus: it's super affordable for the quality and portions you get. You truly get a ton of bang for your buck. Honestly, Bonifacio is even cheaper than a lot of fast-food spots, and I would choose this place over fast food any day without hesitation. The service has always been amazing -- every server I've had has been kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, which makes the experience even better. Seating is a bit limited and can feel tight at times, and some of the chairs aren't the most comfortable -- but it's a small trade-off for how good the food is. I also love that they have a drive-thru pickup window in the back, which is perfect when you want incredible food on the go. Highly recommend.

BBQ chicken skewers over rice

We were in the area and placed an online order to go for the crispy tofu, lumpia (one pork, one veggie), and the BBQ chicken skewers. The food was ready earlier than quoted, but we received a text message giving us a heads up that was the case. We were directed to pull around to the drive thru (yes, they have one!). Since this was our first visit, I'm not sure if the place was just really busy or if it's customary to need to call to notify them that they had a line in the drive thru, but that's what we ended up having to do after 10 minutes of no acknowledgement that they were even aware that we were there. Once we got the food, it was all well packaged for travel and quite tasty with generous portions. It was really nice that you have the option of doing mixed orders of lumpia and not just one or the other. The veggie was clearly "marked" by being wrapped in a bit of banana leaf in the container. For the entrees, they both came with rice and salad, but there was also an easy option right in the order form to request double rice or double salad instead of getting both. They also have a really nice allergy area to indicate any special requests/needs, as well as a long list of sauces from which to choose. We did double rice on the tofu and the standard rice and salad on the BBQ chicken. Both the tofu and chicken were cooked really well - chicken was tender and the tofu was nice and crispy, as promised by its name! Nice corner location with a small parking lot and drive thru.

Amazing Filipino food! Drove up to Columbus for a show and found this hidden gem for dinner. We ordered all the Filipino classics (lumpia, pancit, chicken adobo, lechon) which were all amazing. This is a modern Filipino restaurant, so found some fun add ins (green mango salad with savory shrimp paste sauce, eggplant side, ube donuts in chocolate dessert). Everything was delicious and we ordered more to go and enjoy the next day. Make sure you get a reservation and in early as it fills up fast and is a cozy spot/smaller parking lot.

Great customer service here! I also enjoyed the modern take on Filipino food. I really enjoyed the chicharron Tofu. The adobo rib is good, I love that the meat fell off the bone. They give pretty big portions, I definitely did not finish it! The ube colada was interesting, the initial taste is colada and finishes with an ube flavor. It was good. The ambiance reminds me of a nightclub in the Philippines it's a restaurant and has a bar too! You can also eat with your hands if you want.

Finally had the opportunity to go to Bonifacio, & it most definitely lived up to the hype! Everything about this place was amazing! The vibes and aesthetic were spot on, and I'd definitely recommend this spot for a fun date or a great meal with friends. The service was fast and incredibly friendly! It's recommended to get a couple of things from each part of the menu and share amongst the table, and that was definitely the way to go! The chicken skewers were so tender and tangy with the sauce they were basted in; one of the best skewers I've ever had! The ribs were fall off the bone good and the bok choy had this awesome glaze on it that made them irresistible! Their cocktail menu looks great and the mocktails were totally refreshing! You need to check them out if you haven't been, and go on a Boodle night if you can!

We started with Veggie Lumpia-they were crispy and had great flavor and texture. Then we shared Grilled Pork Belly and BBQ chicken skewers. both came with a dekicious salad and huge serving of rice.I left with almost half my meal. It was delicious The chicken was moist and the sauce was wonderful. The pork belly was tender and very well seasoned.

Ask the Community - Bonifacio

Do you offer outdoor dining?

I went about 6 months ago in the height of the pandemic, and they had set up temporary tables and tiki decorations in their parking lot for patrons. They did not have any indoor dining available at the time.

How much $ is boodle night?

It depends on what and how much you order; it's an a la carte menu. Regular rice is included.

That said, it missed the mark a little. For starters, the A/C wasn't working in most of the space. The main bar area was cool-ish, but the rest of the place was so ungodly hot that I couldn't stand being inside. When the sun finally went down we kept going to the back patio to cool off in between games. And that leads me to the games... there were several that were "out of order" that we were so excited to play. Some of the video games on the wall with consoles weren't working well and shorting out. Some games had buttons that stuck and caused us not to be able to fully play the game. The basketball game wasn't keeping score. There were too many instances like this for me to count. It was a bummer. On the flip side, the drinks were affordable and they have a Borgata Pizza in the back. I didn't grab a slice, but my date did and he said it was good. The staff was also super friendly. There's several other arcades in Columbus that I would go back to before heading here again. I think with some basic upkeep this spot would be an all around winner.
